I really appreciate getting a nice warm meal reminiscent of a home cooked meal, made with so much love and care, so I'm prepared for a long flight ahead. Never thought id find another place similar to K & M Drive Inn when it comes to cheap bentos but this place has em! Its a few cents more expensive and the portion feels just a tad bit smaller but its still one hell of a deal. Lately I've been coming here after seeing some insta videos and I've been hooked on their omelettes. The price for their breakfast plates and Omelettes are very good and they open very early "0430". They serve both their lunch and breakfast menu at open but i havent tried their lunch items yet tho seeing from pictures ahhh def gonna try em before i Judge em. They also ask to preorder a day ahead if you want more than 5 Bentos. Cashier always friendly and just like K&M they tap the no tip option before asking you to tap your card A+ on that. They have a tip jar for cash tips if you want to. I though i should mention this too but just like K&M their spam and sometimes their other breakfast meats in the bento just have a weird funk taste to em. maybe its a different brand? Unsure so I dont get them as much any more but if its actually bad im sure someone would have complained or gotten sick. I had their spam omelette and it tasted just fine. So very weird. read more

A small mom and pop Deli in the Nimitz area, located next to Joes Grill Express, they have an extensive menu ranging from various breakfast items to a larger lunch menu. Breakfast is served all day and the prices are extremely competitive compared to their pricier neighbors. I decided to go with the hamburger steak plate for $11 but added on roast pork for a 2 item combo which added an additional $5.... Which caught be by surprise considering the hamburger was a frozen patty most likely bought from Sam's or costco The stars I'm giving is for the portion size...I was highly disappointed with the servingo the roast pork I added to my plate, it was literally like fewest amount of shredded pieces, now I know roast pork isn't the most expensive thing to make, so a decent portion would have been nice. I know it's a little on the cheaper side for plate lunches but I feel like that should hinder on the portion size. If you work or just near the airport you know where this is, next to joes and mini garden express. No frill good for grab and go bentos in the morning to simple kind plate lunches local/filipino style with few soup selections and a fair fair price Ox tail shhhh. Today was salt and pepper pork chop and meatloaf plates. Meatloaf was soft tender but too much breading inside that you can taste. Salt pepper pork I was thinking more Chinese style crispy but was more just season and gravy all over. Not too shabby for a plate lunch place where most of it is less than $15. I got the loco moco and to be honest it wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst. Service was great as you really just order what you want then eat elsewhere. Atmosphere here was pretty much just a waiting room due to really all your doing inside is waiting for your order to be called. If I had to be blunt I probably would come back again to try there other plate lunches when it's around that time of the month where I'm pretty low on funds and don't want to go to mcdz. Wow what a great surprise, very homey spot with good food for great prices. Where can you get a full plate lunch for $10-$15 bucks. The order. Combo Lechon Kawali and Pork Adobo. The Lechon was packed with flavor and crispy. For most they may say a bit salty. That's right up my alley haha. The Adobo was soft and the sauce was more shoyu slight sweet style vs tart vinegar style. End it with the fact that food was ready in two shakes, I'll definitely stop by again to try other items. They have breakfast and lunch options. A lot of Filipino dishes, but offer a lot plate typical lunch options, then top it with steak and seafood choices. Cheap eats... Papa's does it all and quite early in the morning thankfully after I was done with my bloodwork you know I'm hungry especially since it falls on a work day. Located in the Airport Commercial Center which has ample free parking makes it a quick and easy stop to fuel up for the day though I didn't expect a carnivore feast as the menu offers so much comfort food from breakfast, soups and a very protein rich plate lunches and I'm aware of the industrial location so you know that this is the place for early morning hangry. I ordered breakfast and it was "Steak and Pork Adobo" and with understanding everything is already made and kept warm nice, fast and ready to go though there is a downside to that as the steak was sliced and cooked so it was pretty much done not to a point that it's hard but some may feel that way though with these prices you just can't beat it. Pork Adobo was nice and flavorful not too salty and my eggs was scrambled all on a bed of rice at $12.95 is a deal but what I didn't see since there was some guys already sitting enjoying their meal was they have a grab and go breakfast bento and at $6.95 that indeed was the deal I haven't seen at many places. Ok. So this place has become one of my favorite breakfast places recently. It's just off Nimitz Hwy by the airport. Plenty of parking. It's a takeout place. No seating. Once you walk in you're greeted with a really friendly staff. Bentos are available and a full breakfast menu. I came for the Bigger Breakfast C. Pork adobo, longanisa and steak. Wow. This plate was loaded. Great value for the price and filling. Food came out fast and hot. Adobo and longanisa were great. Steak was just ok. But what would you expect for value plate lunch. I'll be back for sure to try all the other breakfast items on the menu. And of course the bentos. read more

Drove up at 5:30 in the morning and it was nice to see them open. First time coming hear after hearing about them from someones post on Instagram. I ordered the pinoy omelet which included a sweet longanisa, shrimp and onions omelet over a bed of rice. It was so fulfilling and yummy! Service was fast and friendly. First visit to this place and despite the reviews I was very disappointed. The hamburger steak if that's what you call it had the appearance of being boiled and tasted like anything but beef. Seriously. The roast pork was still jellied basically raw. I brought the plate back and a gentleman from the back came out. I pointed these things out and he stated they had cooked them in the oven for a long time. Then in the same breath stated the middle of the burger is supposed to be red. Gosh, I have found my NEW all-day breakfast spot when I MUST drive into town for work (coming from Waipahu.) First and foremost, 4-stars alone for my breakfast plate of luncheon meat, over easy eggs, and white rice. I have been trying to find a spot that has "authentic" luncheon meat and not the style in spam cans labeled as luncheon meat. I bought a plate yesterday, and going again TODAY! Simplicity in its finest, sweet-savory meet, eggs runny, and more-than-enough rice to absorb the yolk goodness. My second plate was shoyu chicken, but being devil's advocate, the taste was actually good, just not the local traditional style I was craving with soft-tender fall-off-the-bone, boiled in broth shoyu chicken. This version was an oven baked style, so the chicken skin alone was yummy. I would only have deducted 1/2 star, but darn. I may try another breakfast meat, and/or dish, but considering they don't charge an arm/leg, it's worth it's weight here. Service was quick, they accept cards with no minimum, and they also have a counter if you can't wait to eat. Parking may be a challenge, depending on time and central location to airport businesses, but around lunch I still found stalls open. Take this as you must, but yummy! read more

First bite threw me off because when you order loco moco you expect hamburger patty, not mushy meat loaf! Gravy nothing to write home about either. Again, it was hot, brown and there was lots of it. Cheap prices, but I would pay a few bucks more for a better loco moco that isn't made with meat loaf. Tried their roast pork a while back and was nothing spectacular either. Papa's Deli opened about 2-1/2 months ago. They are located between Subway and Joe's Grill's Express at the Nimitz Commercial Center. It was more of a take out place with a few chairs along the counter by the window. There was a family having breakfast together: It's a small place offering breakfast from 7am and lunch items. On an early Sunday morning, Mini Garden Express and Papa's Deli & bento were the only ones opened so far. They had a few pre-made bentos for grab and go. He had a picture menu but said it was from the previous restaurants Ann's Kitchen on Republican St and Christine's Diner. The man was busy helping the front and back with another worker. He was nice and helpful. I was able to ordered Lechon with greens and macaroni salad. The lechon was thin and on the crispier side with tomato and onions. The macaroni salad was simple with grated carrots and the greens had a different but tasty dressing. I couldn't figured out the dressing. Maybe made with a little fish sauce? All and all it was good. Nothing to write home about. I would come again and try other dishes since I used to go to Christine's Diner and always wanted to try Ann's Kitchen. Initially purchased Meat Loaf which contained over 60% breading and 3-inch patties, rice was mushy and moldy and toss salad consisted of 3-day old head lettuce which contained one-mouthful portion....LMAO! Bought a roast pork plate and severely disappointed again. Thinly sliced roast pork with 50%-fat and beef jerky quality meat. Save your time and money by avoiding this pseudo-diner. read more

PARKING They share the area with other establishments so parking can be busy, especially during the lunch. Best time to come was on the weekends. FOOD They have an excellent variety of food. From filipino dishes, hawaiian and other local dishes. My favorite is the diniguan plate. So much flavor and they aren't stingey with their portions either. Adobo is another favorite. Can't go wrong with this one. Plus, they were serving breakfast at lunch too. So, if ou're craving some breakfast food for lunch they have that option. I was going to buy lunch from Joe's Grill but decided to try Papa's instead, which opened right next door. The premade bento's looked good and were reasonable, like $8-9. Then I saw the menu and I was intrigued by the spicy black bean ribs so I ordered a plate. Then I saw pasteles stew so the girl talked me into a mixed plate. I think it cost me at least $15. The ribs turned out really delicious and I would definitely order this again. As for the pastele stew, it was OK but I wouldn't order this again. Husband decided that since we never came here maybe we should try it. He placed the order for us as I was on my way to meet him there. *Baked chicken plate - a lot for the price. Basic with not enough flavoring. *roast pork plate - gravy was floury and from looking at it the meat was touching the air and dried the pieces out making it hard. *hamburger steak plate - so upset to see a big chunk of white piece. If I'm not mistaken it may have been bread or egg as a binding ingredient and wasn't mixed well into meat patty but it was gross. Gravy was same as roast pork, floury! *pork chop plate - more like pork loin. Husband said this one was the best one of all but lacked flavor. Good was big but didn't fill my opu due to the lack of flavor. I don't recommend dining in. They have one counter to eat at and it's so hot in there especially with no AC and all the fridge near the counter, where the coils bounce back against the wall and circulates the hot heat.
