However, every time I've gone at night, the service and food quality are not worth the higher premium. Tonight, for example, I ordered on the app, walked in, and the trash was over flowing. There was 1 person waiting for a togo and about 7 people in line. I could see about 4 crewmembers -- which is about what I see during a day shift. However, everyone at night was moving at a snails pace. I waited 20 minutes past my order completion time and when I received it, I checked the bag to find soft tacos instead of the hard I'd ordered. I went back inside and was told they were out (worker was a bit short, fine). When I took it home to eat it, everything was cold. So, to summarize, cold food, bad service, and you don't get what you ordered. Plus it cost me about $45 for food for 3 entrees and 2 large bags of chips. You're better off going to Moes or cooking at home for that. I've been going to this Chipotle for years and I think this is likely my last visit. There's no reason to pay that much for that poor of an experience.

Enter PDQ. The Digs: Stand alone brick and mortar in upscale St. Johns County. I've eaten there on numerous occasions, and no matter what time of day I arrive, the expansive dining room is virtually spotless. The enticing aroma of fresh Chicken and crisp Waffle Fries being made to order will lead you to the counter with a sense of urgency. There's two Coca-cola Freestyle machines to ensure that no one dies of thirst. An abundance of tables and booths are situated to entertain a crowd, if needed. The Noms: Don't get me wrong, there's more to PDQ than just the Tendies (salads, milkshakes, etc.), however, my go-to order is the 4-piece meal with Waffle Fries and Toast. Up until my very first visit, I had NO IDEA how one thick, buttery, toasty piece of bread could be SO essential to this meal. If they ran out of toast I'd walk out and come back the next day, that's how dependant I am on this bread. The Tendies are fried to perfection, and elevated by my 2 dipping sauces of choice, Ranch and Honey Mustard. There's an assortment of sauces to suit anyone's taste, but those two are my besties, and I'm an unapologetic Ranch snob. The Waffle Fries are coming at you fresh out of the fryer, so you might want to wait a minute before you dig in, speaking from experience. And So: This particular PDQ is unquestionably my favorite "Tendies" spot in Jacksonville, by far. The service is quick and the staff welcome you with warm smiles and pleasantries.
