I'm a little devastated that this coffee chain took over the space of Esperanza due to high rent and land lord issues. But the staff at this location are always so nice. And the coffee is excellent. I've gone back and forth on whether to leave this review, but at the end of the day, I'm a mother, and I had my young son with me when this happened, and I feel it's important to speak up. I regret not saying something in the moment, but I believe this deserves to be shared so others can make informed decisions about supporting this business. While waiting in line, I witnessed an elderly woman politely ordering a chocolate chip cookie and a water. As she moved to find the water station, she seemed confused and asked for clarification. Instead of offering kindness or patience, the barista responded loudly, rudely, and with visible frustration, snapping, "The water is right over there." It was disrespectful, and honestly, hard to watch. I would never treat anyone this way, especially someone elderly simply asking for help. It was disappointing and showed a complete lack of compassion. If you're reading this, I hope you take a moment to reflect on how your staff interacts with others. People notice. I won't be returning, and I'm saddened that this was the experience you offered, not just to her, but to everyone witnessing it. Customer Service goes a long way and this place has a somber uncaring staff. It seems like it almost stemmed from the top because the turnover is so high here. There's been some old gems of people who have worked here and they've all moved on. That tells me that ownership and management is bad. No one seems to take stock in this place that works there. They all keep it clean and tidy which I'll give it two stars for, but frumpy, grumpy sour puss service doesn't warrant charging seven bucks or more for a lackluster drink. There's other options in the neighborhood. I've been here many times and really wanted to love it and have loved people that have worked there. They've all said the same thing: the ownership stinks so they moved on. I don't think this place is going make it if they don't listen to some of these reviews. how can you hire someone who hates dealing with people? Maybe they just don't care what people think. I came in planning to get a latte or something, but saw the two dollar coffee and croissant deal and it just happened to be the last Tuesday of the month (lucky me!). That's a great deal and I tipped 100%, but unfortunately, the sullen cashier ruined the experience for me. I'll never understand why people take jobs in customer service if it makes them miserable. You don't HAVE to work with the public. You don't HAVE to make people feel like they're imposing on you just for asking to buy something in the shop in which you work. You don't HAVE to telegraph your lack of enthusiasm for your job and I guess life in general. I won't be back. Woodstock is blessed with so many great coffee shops and I'll go to one where I feel like they're happy to have my business. read more

This is a little hidden gem for a nicely appointed cafe with great coffee, quality snacks, and great beer as well as wine. Their daily happy hour is a great deal too. If you are looking for a place to get a little work done while you caffeinate or enjoy a cleansing ale this is it! read more

I like the atmosphere okay. My mocha was good, but I prefer soy milk and all they had was oat or almond. So, oat milk. Biggest problem is that it's quite expensive. $7.50 for a 16 oz. That's a $1.50 more than I pay in most places. read more

I ordered their matcha latte and it was terrible. It seems the overwhelming majority of Portland coffee shops that offer matcha have no idea how to make it properly. It tasted like milk with a tiny sprinkling of matcha. In order to make a decent matcha you need at least 3 grams of powder and have to sift it in a strainer so the powder doesn't clump. Maybe they should take it off the menu and stick to coffee since they don't seem to understand this. read more

Tucked between the credit union and the UPS store lies Woodstock's best kept secret. A beautiful coffee shop serving phenomenal coffee, beer and wine. They have an in house coffee roaster and make all their syrups in house from scratch. Their menu is ever rotating, using only fruit that is in season for their syrups. They offer multiple single origin beans and a yummy decaf option as well. The staff is all super friendly, warm, and welcoming. Great place to hang with friends and it is dog friendly. They have a lot of seating inside and outside (if you're looking for some sun). They have a big garage door, perfect for taking in the bustling street of Woodstock. The coffee lacks love. Even with a simple iced americano, the drink I received was a hot cup of water with a splash of espresso. Even when I asked for my iced drink, the barista proceeded to dump out the drink and add ice to it, without any regard for diluting what little coffee was there. I really wanted to like this spot in our neighborhood, but having been there on a Sunday, receiving burned burritos twice (waited 40 minutes for 2 rounds of burned burritos), and the unfriendliness of the staff made it an overall no for us to return. It would be better to have a system where names were called or order numbers instead of just calling out items as no one knows whose order is ready. Would also share that we had a toddler with us and this place is not kid friendly which is too bad as it's right next to a kiddos bookstore. read more
