I want to give a big shout out to the security team at Harlow's. We were at Emo Night with some friends and noticed that a man was making a group of women uncomfortable, I asked one of the women if the guy was being a problem and she told me it's an ex that's not supposed to be there. I had my partner separate them while I went to talk to security. I explained the situation briefly and the security guard said "no problem", came right over them and escorted him out. The whole situation went smoothly and professionally and everyone had a great time the rest of the event. Their security is on point! read more

I love this cool little venue. It's changed since the last time I was there several years ago. There is a nice selection of alcoholic beverages and draft beers. Easy to get to, nice standing area in front of the stage to see some of my favorite bands. Great customer service, Coach check is very nice to have. I didn't try any of the food, but it looked good. We had a blast here at the Magic City Hippies concert! Fun venue with a cool vibe. The drinks are pretty good as well. There's an outdoor patio that is very spacious and has places to sit down and get some air. Inside is standing room only unless you reserved a booth around the side of the room. This venue is great specifically because of the Burley Clines show. This show is always top notch, seasoned, beautiful performers. The host is incredibly knowledgeable in her industry and it shows in her shows. Every time we can make it to one, it's a highlight of our month. More queer art like this show is needed. read more

Wowww will not go here again. The bartenders were so rude. The venue itself was fine but they refused to give my friend and I water! They just wrote us off said there was water in the self serve and when I said it was empty they literally just shrugged their shoulders and were so rude about it. This happened at the main bar and the one outside! Like are you kidding me? We can't even get water? Terrible for people drinking and trying to stay hydrated. They also tried to give my friend an empty back when she ordered a shot. Like if you're out of stuff just say it? Awful service. read more

As good as it gets in Sacto for small shows. Lovely back patio with fire pits, waterfalls, and the occasional free movie. Great bars with good local taps. But the best part is the shows of course. Lots of classic bands come through here. Very intimate setting. Last night it was the LA based punk super-group The Flesh Eaters. What a great show. Every spot is like an orchestra level seat in a larger venue. Up by the stage you are feet from the band. Can be very loud and very crowded. I usually bring some earplugs. Great prices on tickets, great lineup of shows. Love their promoters and crew. Even the bouncers are cool - just don't be an idiot and everything is cool. read more

Wasn't going to speak on this just figured I wouldn't return to the venue, the show was great it was the staff that was the problem, I walked outside to smoke on their patio and upon coming back in there was a young woman (black woman)who knocked on a door and the gentlemen (white man) inside didn't open the door for her all the way she asked to speak to him while she was almost in tears and the gentlemen shut the door in her face. I'm guessing she was another employee and that was actually a disgusting scene to witness, I ran into the young woman this week and found out that due to that incident she was fired and the gentleman was dealt no consequences, so I must say if that's how the employees are treated I definitely wouldn't patronize a business like this. read more

Last time at Harlow's, was my last time at Harlow's. First, the ATM machine was not working, so the Management had us standing outside for an hour plus in the cold. We arrived early, to get a seat. Just before the show, the bouncers let in a bunch of people who took every seat in the place. I was pissed, I had them give me back my door charge... If I wanted to stand around for hours, this would be a great place to see a show. read more

There's only a handful of music venues in the Sacramento to area , and Harlow's is one that's been around for a while . It's a moderately sized venue with an intimate stage, so you can get very close to the acts if you wish . They get a wide variety of different acts to perform here , most are up and coming bands. Ticket prices are usually very affordable. On our most recent visit we got to catch Dustbowl Revival put on a showstopper! They were pretty fabulous and the opening act wasn't too bad either. Staff was friendly. Place was clean , a decent number of tables and chairs . Good looking bar area . Drinks are as expected. What I was most surprised with was their outdoor patio in the back. It's a really nice looking patio! The had great seating , a fire pit , a small bar , music , and it just had a good vibe. Gotta come back soon for another show and to hang out on that patio . read more

There is a large outdoor patio with extra seating. They would have gotten five stars but the food wasnt very good. I ordered the street tacos. I want to take a moment to thank you all for giving my son Evan, a marvelous first concert experience! It started from the moment I realized I forgot two of our tickets at home; the gentleman at the door was kind and helpful and printed new tickets for me. I was so worried! When we were seated our server was very attentive, the food was tasty, great beer selection, delicious burger. The bouncer came and brought Evan some earplugs when he noticed Evan covering his ears, that was very sweet. You put a piece of paper on our table that said "reserved VIP" and that made Evan's night! Thank you for making him a VIP, he took that piece of paper and got autographs on it, it is truly a treasure to him. When Local Artist from Hawaii comes to town like Anuhea, Ekolu , with opening performers like Mahi , New Kingston, Justin Kawika Young & Alex Sparrow it's pretty jam packed. It's my 3rd concert at Harlows and though it's late at night pretty darn good. Harlows post events on their website and social media with ticket information, fees , will call or reservations for VIP tables during events. Mostly it's general admission that means standing. I do advise to arrive very early because they do have couple of high top tables in the back specially if you will be ordering appetizers before the concert. As you walk in the door the bar is at the right with bar stools and they usually set up BAND MERCH in the corner just when you walk in the door. Have your ID's out , Grab something refreshing or water station at the end of the bar. Harlow's bathrooms are clean , they have a little outdoor patio cause it does get crowded inside and a little warm. So you know if you want to get up close to the stage be early and yes taller people may move right in front of you. Dancing! don't step on other peoples foot but feel free to move and JAM! It's a good event space, speakers are loud, bartenders and staff are great! follow the rules and have FUN! read more

My friends and I came here for a show last Thursday. I was unfamiliar with the artist, but excited to listen to new music. First the bouncer at the door was extremely rude. I get bouncers are supposed to be intimidating, but he held onto my ID not even looking at it, no words just a staring contest. As a woman of color this was beyond uncomfortable. Standing in line being stared down by a big white guy isn't ideal. I laughed a little to try and lighten the mood, maybe this guy is trying to be funny, but he wasn't, out of all my friends he only gave me a hard time. After this staring contest he finally scans my ID and takes a picture of the front and back. Except he's still a power hungry individual and held onto my ID longer. Finally I asked if I can have my ID back. Finally with my ID back in my hand he says something along the line of he hates that my ID isn't updated, but he definitely dropped quite a few f bombs while doing so. So needless to say he kinda ruined the rest of the night. I was left feeling embarrassed. I did get a drink from the bartender and she was sweet. As far as the show went there were a lot of issues with sound. Some musicians guitars weren't on, the crowd had to let the sound guy know. A lot of technical difficulties that could be worked out in the future. First time here & never going back. read more

The LowDown: Harlow's is a fun place in which to jam. It's small enough to enjoy a meal before a show, and the dance floor is big enough for epic dance moves to be executed without poking out the eyes of others. Usually. I can do my Elaine Footkicks all night long. The music: Live music is a perfect way to enjoy an evening out, and this is one of my favorite places to do so. I come here sometimes to see my Uncle's Carpenter's Tribute band (formerly Close to You: A Carpenter's Tribute Band) perform. Shut up. You wish you had a keyboardist Uncle that hip. Some of other bands I've seen here include indie folk group Coyote Grace out of Sebastopol originally, whom no longer perform together, but occasionally will perform with other local talent, thankfully, !!!, or Chk Chk Chk, who performed firstly as an opener for themselves, then as themselves (haHA), and the incredible song stylings of Chicano Batman. Those last two were discoveries of my boyfriend, who has an eclectic, exciting taste in music. The staff: Service is awesome. They've got a full bar as well as servers that can work a full house like nobody's business. You're drink magically appears before you before you have time to think about it. I've had to flag down a server maybe once for something in the handful of times I've been here over the years. I went to the bar and was able to figure it out quickly, at little to no bother at all. Food n' Drank: Food here is also sur le point, as they dire. Yummy fries of various kinds, burgers, and decently priced street tacos stuffed full of goodies, just to name a few tried and true options. Drinks aplenty! I recommend the Cherry Mule first of all. I like that they have 805 and Stella on tap, as well as wines and mixed drinks. Again, it's SO CONVENIENT to be able to order at the tables or order at the bar. They do dinner reservations before shows. Call ahead to reserve a table in the swanky lounge area. Super fun way to pre-game. Don't keep the HarLow on the DownLow: This smallish intimate venue really has it all. It won't leave you as deaf as Ace of Spades, it hasn't sold out yet, AND the genre of the talent here is far more broad. I am a big fan of going to shows here. It's an excellent intimate venue. They do however, need to do a better job of letting customers know who's on the line up. Went to see Rakim on Sunday night for an 8:30 start time. They added 4 warm up acts without any notice. The headliner didn't come on until almost 11:00. In addition the guy working security to the left of the stage was EXTREMELY rude. Will be contacting their management regarding that issue! Knocked off a couple of stars in the Rating because of that. read more

We were here Sat. Nov 6th for Heartless and Invincible, two awesome cover bands! It was kinda strange, the show started at 6:30 and was over by 10:00 (I later learned it was because it's an all-ages show, which was funny because the crowd was 40+!). Which would have been fine if they had a house band or DJ to keep the party going but no, they just shut it down. We had to find somewhere else to keep partying. While we were there, though, it was great. Staff and servers were top notch, the food was great (high quality 'bar food', we enjoyed it!). Overall a great night out. Thanks Harlows! read more

The food was decent for snack while drinking? Nothing special about the food. The waitress at the table was decent. I truly appreciate it. The Bar maid made a coffee martini for me. The first one made very well she Filled the glass up, No problem I went back to the bar ordered another one she has the other glass I saw when she ran out of liquor and that was it however, she did not try to open a new one and make the drink proper. I highly recommend Blues and Bourbon Wednesdays alway great live Blues by local musicians. Plenty of seating and dance floor. Slightly older crowd, so am I. If you have never been give it a try. I was very excited to finally check out Harlow's as my husband has been a few times but on nights I was working. Its a small music venue with a nice vibe and walking distance to my house. I liked the outside patio before the show and the intimacy of the space to see a band. Ticket prices are good, they seem to host some great bands, and it didn't get crazy being that its mostly standing room only. My biggest complaint is the beer list. Why does every bar in Sacramento seem to only offer IPAs. They had approx 8 beers on tap - 6 were IPA, one pale ale, and a pilsner. REALLY? Not everyone loves IPA. We live in a town that has amazing beers - add some variety (sours, stout, cream ales) I mean really, mix it up. Not every beer drinker is "living in an IPA world" as the bartender said when I expressed my disappointment. read more

Great size, vibe and friendly staff. I came here once on a Sat for Irie Reggae night and wow, great crowd and music. I was able to easily find a guest list online and arrive before 11 for free entry. However the line was 15-30 mins long so I just paid $15-$20 at the door. It was well worth it. Spacious, clean and classy. Can't wait to come here again. read more

Booked a booth for the LA Russel show and when I got to the door the hostess had no clue what I was talking about. 30 minutes before the show ENDED someone remembered and took me to the booth and gave me the booth for half price to sit for 30 minutes. Again tried to reach out to them for another show via email with no response, tried via IG no response I finally call after 4 days of reaching out to be told booths and tickets are sold out I should have reached out earlier.... Well I did with NO RESPONSE and his (DAVE) response was oh or you should have came.... If you're looking for professional service THIS IS NOT IT!!! read more

We went with a group of friends to watch a band play. The seating was extremely limited and the show started about 2 hour later than advertised on the tickets. It was quite uncomfortable standing for that long to include the duration of the event. The band was good and the bartenders were nice servers, so that sort of made up for it. However, the security staff is unprofessional and unpleasant to deal with. After the event we wanted to stay and have a drink, so we waited in line to get into their nightclub which is through a different door. Once we gave the bouncer our ID he denied us entry because my husband was wearing Jordans and said no athletic wear was allowed. I pointed out the guy in front of us had Adidas tennis shoes and the bouncer said Adidas, Chucks or Van's were allowed. We didn't want to make a scene so went to sit on a bench a few feet away to call our Uber. Minutes later another guy with similar Jordans as my husband went up with a group of friends and was allowed entry. At that point I went over to confront them about the discrimination happening against us, because the bouncers were the same race as both individuals they let in with the athletic shoes and we were a different race. I asked to speak to a manager to explain what we had experienced with the discrimination and we were refused the opportunity to speak to the manager. I have more to share about this situation as well as a short video I was able to capture. I can't believe how they mistreated us and the lack of fairly enforcing the dress code standard across the board. read more

After living in West Sacramento for two years, we finally got to Harlow's for a show. Simply put, I feel like a fool for waiting so long. The location is great and there is more than ample street parking. In addition to the food served at the venue, there are great options for food and drink at bars and eateries nearby. From the moment we were greeted by security and the ticket taker, the staff was friendly, efficient, and personable - we felt like guests more than patrons. I was also amazed by the ambience and upkeep of the main room, with the large stage being the focal point. Once the acts started the sound was great in the room and the ONLY area where I could imagine improvement would be the addition of some small fill speakers to direct a bit of the mix and vocals to the very front row. We were standing at the stage and the PA was pointing over our heads. But this is a very very minor point. We will be back! read more

We saw the sold out Dr. Dre 2001 tribute concert here a few weeks back and had a good time. Drinks are reasonably priced and the act was spectacular. There are pillars in the middle of the floor that obstructed the view for some people and the A/C couldn't quite keep up with the full room but we'll definitely be back. read more

Harlows is a cause I wanna support! In a short review, I can only say so many good things. I came here for their Disney Burlesque show that included a variety of performers including Viva LaChacha, Coco Lamarr, and Hellen Heels. It was like I was thrown into a high profile city bar in Manhattan. Such a classy place with a very professional staff. The show was absolutely incredible and if I could experience it again, I would! I went to Harlow's a few weeks ago to see Built to Spill. Drove the 2.5 hours from Reno to see this legendary group. As far as a club concert setting, Harlow's is optimal! It's perfect for an intimate concert experience where you want to get as close as possible to the band. The openers were good, and the main act rocked. One of the issues I had with the facility was the bathroom. I totally understand it is really hard to keep a bathroom clean for a venue like this throughout an event. But this restroom was bad. #1 and #2s on the floor bad. In addition, the show started way too late. I live in Reno, which is a 24 hour city, and even there the concerts kick off at 8 and are finished by 11 or 12 at the latest. This concert had too many opening bands, and too much time between acts. Didn't leave until close to 1am. I really hope I don't come off as a square, but that's too late no matter how cool you are. It was a Friday night though, so I didn't mind as much. The drinks were strong though, and the outdoor patio area they had in the back was a great place to hang out. I would come back for another show, but only for a band I really liked. read more
