I have been going to this place on and off over the years and more so recently as they have improved. The customer service is outstanding for what this place is. Their breakfast is solid and good and one of the most reasonably priced in this age of outrageous inflation. They cook your eggs as ordered, not many places way more expensive seem to be able to manage that. The hash browns are crisp and good and they give you a lot. Haven't tried a burger yet. The fried chicken dinner is a good deal, it is crunchy on the outside and juicy and tender inside as it should be, my only complaint being the breading on the skin is too salty. The mashed potatoes nor gravy nor the baked potato were very good. Go with the fries or hash browns I guess. I like the bread buns they crisp up for that dinner. Harry's has been my go to place for many years. (Until recently) Always has been a great place to get a decent breakfast for cheap. However this all changed on 11/19/23 6:30AM Three reasons why I am not satisfied with my past experience. 1) I requested that my hash browns would be cooked well done/extra crispy. The hash browns came soggy as can be. 2) There was a long piece of female human hair in my hash browns, and I know it wasn't mine because I'm not a female, and I don't have any hair on my head... 3) I was eating breakfast outside on the patio with my puppy (on a leash) restrained away from my table.... The female waitress that drives the white bmw freaked out because she thought my dog was going to attack her.... She said she's been attacked by dogs in the past and she's terrified.... So she put all of my food on a different table, and made me get up to retrieve my own food.... My dog literally just sat there.... And did nothing to her lol. Anyways, as long as the female with the white bmw works at this establishment I won't be returning here. I'll go eat elsewhere so I don't have to serve myself food with hair in it. read more

I made time to wake early enough to pick up breakfast this morning. This place opens early and I only waited 12 minutes after ordering. This was my second time here. I had the steak and eggs special. I ordered my steak medium, scrambled eggs, home potatoes and sourdough toast this time. The steak was flavorable and tender. I was given both the green & red salsas for my scrambled eggs. Plenty of potatoes. This place serves breakfast all day, lunch and dinner. I had the French toast last time and it was also delicious. They have a variety of entrees on their menu. The manager tells me to leave and not come back because I want to pay the online price. This place does not deserve to be open if they change the prices like that. I think this is Illegal to do. It was busy , had one cashier a long line I thought it would be worth the wait but when I got my food the Fried zucchini was extremely hard to chew; my jaw is hurting and my mouth is all cut up from the hard batter and over cooked fried zucchini . WhereTF have I been strikes yet again! I was looking for breakfast after seeing my dentist, and I didn't feel like driving 3 miles to previously reviewed Green Street Cafe. Harry's Cafe is closer and is located on Bolsa near Springdale in Huntington Beach. They also serve lunch and dinner, and offer full breakfast all day. I ordered the chicken fried steak w/ two eggs, hash browns and toast ($5.99). Harry's also offers steak, pork chops and chorizo for breakfast proteins. For lunch, I saw a burger, fries & drink combo for $5.99. The CFS was very good. The gravy had chunks of sausage vs crumbled sausage, and there was plenty of it. The steak was a good sized portion for the price. Although it was smaller than Green Street Café, it was also 40% less, and it did not take long for the food to arrive: 4 Stars. The staff is super friendly, and makes you feel right at home. The food came out quickly, and I was given a place mat and silverware: 4 Stars. The ambiance is above a hole in the wall. You order and pay at the counter, and your food is delivered to your table. The restroom was fairly clean, and had a machine over the urinals that I have not seen outside of a gentlemen's club. I didn't have any quarters - LMAO!!! Harry's doesn't have the best tasting food around. However, its hard to beat the portions for the price, in a down home setting. Waited for over a 1/2 hour for my food and it's still not ready. This is a joke, won't be coming back here again.

I ordered three items. The bacon breakfast burrito , a cheeseburger and the chili. The tortilla tasted so fishy I just threw it out, the burger was ok and I thought chili had beans from the photos. I combined the chili with the burger and it was a very nice combination. I asked for red and green salsas for the burrito and only received reds. I think the fishiness of the burrito which I tried first really threw everything off. I'll still try again and hope it's better next time, thank you read more

I loved eating here but 3 days ago I ordered a Mediterranean salad with NO NO tomatoes & extra cucumbers because my mum is allergic to tomatoes & the very sweet cook forgot and when we got home we didn't pay attention & my mum took 2 bites & got sick. I called straight away to the restaurant & I was to go back the next day to talk to the owner Jose. I did and he agreed to give me back my money and anything I wanted or so I thought. I wanted him to make things right because I had to pay an ER bill and I wanted 2 turkey burgers & then he tried to charge me? UNBELIEVABLE!!@!! After I had given him 3 days in a row business and thought I found a lovely new place since I just moved to the area and was happy about his food. Nevertheless, he has lost my respect & business. This place takes me back to my younger high school days. The food is really good and the seasoned fries are delicious. The staff is very sweet and the place is very clean. This place is a joke! Three out of 3 orders wrong. The sausage was beyond burnt and they tried to get away with serving 1 sausage instead of 3. They charged .55cents for cheese and didn't even add it to the burger. When I took it back they took my burger and just slapped on the cheese rewrapped it and brought it back out. Absolutely unsanitary. Their tables are filthy. Everything is bland and overpriced. Oh and get this they charge a 4% charge on every "card" purchase. Nobody does that. What a raquet! The reason for the 5 stars is the BOMB ASS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! They are extremely attentive to your every need. If you need more coffee, soda, water anything. The two ladies here today do their rounds around the tables to ask if anyone needs anything! I order the steak and eggs and my wife got the pancake combo! It as delicious! You get what you pay for! Right in our neighborhood is Harry's Cafe that sits quietly on a busy corner but is well known by locals. The lovely missus said we been there before, but checking my Yelp, I see I needed to put this 5 star review in place. It was that good of an experience. Ok, so parking is plenty. As you walk in, go to the counter and read the multiple choices of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The colorful menu you can take home is chockful of goodies. We came for lunch but both ordered from the dinner menu. Ribeye steak with baked potato midday!! Me, I went for the pork chops. All dinners come with choice of potatoe, soup, salad and a roll. We could sit anywhere but thought to sit near the TV for a Liverpool soccer/football game. Wow, what a feast we had and we were visited table side by a young, friendly person that knew so much about this Harry's Cafe restaurant business that we think he might have a family ownership connection. We exchanged restaurant ideas. We watched the game to the end. The waitstaff were busy and courteous and made sure we were attended to throughout our meal. The cafe was clean, the restrooms were clean, the food was great, and today I experienced a five star performance by Harry's Cafe. No doubt that we will be back for more. read more

Wow I haven't been here in over a year and I used to like it but it's gone downhill! My pork chops and eggs overdone, pork chops were thin and fatty vs they used to be thick and juicy, plus there was more onions and peppers and a few potato's! Plus the waitress was sweeping the floor by my table near the door which was open and the wind blew the dust in the air near me! Unfortunately it used to be great! I like coming here when I'm in the mood for homestyle diner comfort food. The food isn't necessarily the greatest, but the prices are reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. I usually get the burger combo, which includes fries and a drink! I think it costs somewhere around $6 and you can substitute the fries out for either onion rings or fried zucchini at no additional charge. I love how they have wild cherry Pepsi as one of their fountain drink choices...and of course, refills are free! I've also tried their breakfast burritos, which are served all day. They're a bit on the bland side, but they do have a self-serve pico de gallo station to help dress up the flavor. The food can be pretty greasy and oily here, but it's still a tremendous step up from my work cafeteria, which costs double the price and doesn't even offer half the variety of Harry's! read more

I loved Harry's for Sunday breakfast. The last few times we've eaten there it has been inconsistent. Huge potato chunks that are trickier to manage, hardly any peppers, and big sharp raw onion pieces. The ham was rubbery and barely cooked. My toast was burnt as well. I know we all have an off day but this is an off couple months. What's going on Harry's? I don't know about you but if I'm going out to eat I want it to be better than I can make. This place is "okay" The menu is BIG, if your a burger or sandwich lover you will love this place! The prices are very inexpensive, nothing is over 7 dollars. Combos are about 4.95-6.00. I got the vegetable soup and large fries, my boyfriend got french toast. Vegetable soup was good, but was not hot when it came out, it was basically cold. The fries were pretty good though, had the perfect thickness on it. My boyfriend french toast was horrible. It tasted too much like eggs, made me sick. Other things i didn't like about this place was it was pretty dirty, the condiment section was all crusty and had sauce all over the tables. Great choice of food at a really inexpensive price. The best part of this location is Myra! She's bubbly, and has one of the best personalities I have ever encountered. My husband and I ordered the ribeye and eggs. We were offered cottage cheese and tomatoes as a substitute for the hash browns. We walked in wearing work out clothes so Myra assumed we wanted to watch our carbs. We asked for salsa and she brought us one of each type. All three salsas were amazing. NO NO NO just no. Im not sure about the other dishes but based off what me and boyfriend ordered, this place does not know how to cook. I will say that we ordered through uber eats and they were quick with preparing food. But I ordered the pork chops, hashbrowns, and fried egg. My boyfriend got the chicken fried steak, hashbrown, and fried egg. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS SEASONED. Except the gravy on my boyfriends chicken fried steak-it tasted like frozen sodium. But it had sodium so ill give it that. My porkchops were ROCK HARD, my toast was drowned in butter and not even toasted while my boyfriend's were burnt, like it was black not even dark brown. I didnt want to hate but this was just unacceptable, a full on failure. Id give one star, but im not sure how the service is dining in person so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I love the food here! This is a family owned business. I used to come over here once to four times a month, depending on how often I was in the area. I would pout at my boyfriend if I didn't get my Harry's Cafe fix for the month! I really really really really really love the burritos they have. I've already tried each of the breakfast burritos, the steak burrito, chicken burrito, carne asada burrito, pork burrito, and some weird customized mixture that the boyfriend asked them to make for me, which I TOTALLY enjoyed. The breakfast burritos are pretty bomb, but I don't prefer the hashbrowns that they put in the burrito. I guess it's because I don't like burning my tongue when biting into the burrito. =( Egg burrito is soooo good. And they stuff their burritos to the absolute brim. Expect things to get really really messy! The burritos have always been really juicy for me, and it's always wrapped in the best way to make sure things aren't leaking while you're eating it. Still, have more than just a few napkins ready just in case. =) O, and the cheese quesadilla is goood too =) I've had the breakfast omelettes (vegetarian, denver, ham and cheese, spinach egg), which comes with a side of hashbrowns (which is okay), and toast and jam (which is really good because they butter it nicely...yum!). I always get filled up by the breakfast. Honestly, it's cheap and good, so I think I'd rather go here for breakfast than Denny's.... I've had the pastrami sandwich before, as well as the steak sandwich. Both were HUGE. Didn't come with any sides, but, geez, I wouldn't have been able to eat them anyways. I think I've tried their other sandwiches before but it's been awhile. I typically go for the burritos or omelettes. The boyfriend typically gets the chicken salad with ranch dressing, tuna salad, chicken sandwich, chicken supreme, or french toast. Don't talk to him while he's eating. He'd be enjoying his food too much. =P I like taking the food home to eat. While the staff has always been very nice to us, I don't feel completely comfortable in the actual restaurant due to the other patrons. Harry himself is really cool. Parking isn't too bad. You typically should be able to find parking on a given day. There are other food restaurants in the small shopping center if you don't want anything on Harry's menu. Harry's has the best biscuits and gravy as well as pancakes that are the best. The 2 stars are for the problems with the pricing. I have ordered from postmates twice and both times they overcharged me. Not a couple bucks but doubled what it said it would be. My order today was 22.00 but when I went to tip it showed 37.00.
