I love pepperoni and arugula as topings but you cannot add anything. Fried calamari is good but not wow. The tiramisu on the other hand is the bomb. You can taste the home made. It's soft, full of coffee flavor and not too sweet. The service was ok until the waiter came and took my friend's plate with food in it and without asking if she was finish. Great place if you enjoy being pretentious. First review of a high-end restaurant like this and will consider location (Wall Street) and typical clientele (financiers with expense accounts). Beautiful place inside although way too noisy for tables of 4 or more. If you have a group of 5+ you won't be able to talk without changing seats. The restaurant does work on a tight profit margin per table (perhaps because it is Wall Street?). What that means is this: each table has quotas of bottles of wine, drink orders, appetizers, beef orders, and drinks (again). It is typical upsell yet it is obvious that each server is well aware of the margins (think Japanese piano bar). So it seemed that after first round of wine, drink, and appetizer orders our table was demoted to second tier. Obvious we were not expense account people or trying to show off our family wealth. Great for some, just not our style. Believe it or not I saw discussions between the waiter and the floor manager (Pit boss?) after our dinner orders. That's when service dropped way off and we sat for 45 minutes waiting for our entrees. We were being cooled until we ordered another round of drinks. We had another event that night so we waved on more drinks. From that point they gave up on our table and finding a waiter was difficult as they had moved to higher margin tables. Sigh... I will say the swordfish was well prepared although just warm as it had sat. The salmon was really good as well nicely prepared. I think the food was not the problem for us generally. All in all a disappointing affair for our family celebration, yet you get the jest, all depends if you are there for a business impress or a show of wealth. (Last visited 4/17/2021.) Hanging out in my favorite city in the entire world for the weekend and it's time for a nice Saturday brunch. A friend of ours recommended this place so we had to try it! Here's how it went. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right in the Wall Street district of New York is this gem. It's on the ground level of a building so there are some steps you have to walk down to get into the restaurant. Naturally, there is no private parking lot so you will need to find some street parking, walk from the hotel or find a parking structure, but remember, street parking is free on Sundays! Moving on. This place is elegant and gives me a late... I don't know what time period... maybe 50s vibe from the staff's uniforms, the chevron floor tiles, lamps and just everything. Check out the pictures. It was brunch so the place wasn't terribly lively or loud, but quite busy. Service: I can't remember the guy's name, but I believe he was Greek or something and he was awesome! He was friendly, funny and made sure we got all the bottomless champagne that we could handle! Food: So, the famous Harry's Unlimited Champagne Brunch takes place on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00pm to 3:30pm. You can order any entrée from the menu and the champagne just starts flowing. Any juices you want to add to your champagne will be extra and they're not cheap... of course. So you can choose from 6 "brunch" entrees, but there are a whole plethora of appetizers, salads and of course, cuts of meat to choose from. I love it, but it can be pricy. I chose the Steak & Eggs brunch entrée. It's simply a cut of hanger steak, 2 eggs in any style you like and some classically prepared hash browns. The steak was tender, tasty and cooked exactly how I wanted it. The eggs were fluffy and golden yellow as they should be and the hash browns were delicious. Listen, nothing here blew me away, but you come for the awesome champagne and atmosphere, in my opinion. Value: So, some steak and eggs from Harry's during their champagne brunch will cost you $28.00. I think that's pretty solid. Now, remember the juice I mentioned earlier? $7.00 for 9 ounces of orange juice or peach nectar. THAT'S A GLASS OF JUICE FOR $7.00. Lol. You can get the whole carton (64 ounces) for like $3.49 and Whole Foods. I ain't complaining, I'm just saying. Harry's has to recuperate losses from us brunch bosses somehow and I'm here for it. My husband and I came into NYC and wanted to have a classic NY steak experience. We were delighted by our night at Harry's! Service is quick and polite, and ambiance is moody (perfect for what we were looking for). My husband ordered an old fashioned that came with a large embossed ice cube and a decanter to slowly pour the drink in to ensure it didn't get watered down, while I had a glass of grenache that was delicious. We then ordered bread and butter, oysters, a table side Caesar, and a flank steak all to share. The bread was soft and fluffy, oysters were fresh, table side Caesar was light and lemony, and the steak was cooked to perfection. Harry's is a New York icon and a place where you can step back in time to see how the Rat Pack may have lived and eaten back in the day! We went there for a true New York experience and were not disappointed! We had the oysters (excellent, if a bit tiny for what we were expecting), a steak (done med-rare and wonderfully delivered), and the Beef Wellington (which looked amazing, was very tender, but the taste was somewhat underwhelming - the meat was almost "mealy" if that makes sense?). Harry's is a must if you're visiting NYC or even a local. It's an iconic establishment and is definitely the place to come to for a fine dinner. It's beautifully decorated for the holidays and is super cozy. It's definitely a nice place to celebrate something special. It's definitely not an everyday place. We had reservations for 8 pm on a Thursday evening. Once we got seated we were greeted by both a waiter and a captain. The waiter brought us water and the captain took our food order and took care us the entire night. To start we decided to go with the lobster deviled eggs which were delicious. It was creamy and perfectly seasoned and the lobster meat was really fresh. Next for our entrees we decided to go with the beef Wellington and the dry aged NY strip steak. Portions were big and the food was delicious. We were definitely stuffed but decided to also share a dessert to complete the meal. We initially wanted to get the apple tarte tarting but I guess because of how popular it is, they were out of it. Our captain recommended that we get the warm bread pudding instead.it was indeed a great recommendation! The bread pudding was moist and warm and the vanilla icecream was a great addition to it. It was my first time back in over a decade and so glad we decided on this. It's still an amazing classic steakhouse with comfortable spacious seating, friendly and helpful staff, and very very solid courses. The bone in fillet is a true standby and quite tender and flavorful but the lamb curry is a hidden gem with tender and flavorful lamb in a creamy and savory curry served over long grain rice. The sides are also a must try with the polenta fries, lobster fried rice, and hash browns as the must order items. They follow all distancing guidelines and do a wrist temperature check upon entry. We went to Harry's for early dinner. She didn't mention it was anniversary of Harry's Sunday dinners. Also had to be asked If there were any special. When asked if the special stuffed sole was dover sole she said no just a piece of sole. Also asked if scallops were the small ones or regular size. She said small so friend ordered scallops which were not the small bay scallops. Manager came over when she returned dish asking what happened and we explained. Asked about the sole and he said it was dover and gave price, which was over $50. Friend didn't order and only ate sides. Never saw waitress again, both managers continued service. We ordered desserts and coffee. No offer was made by either manager to give friend free dessert to make up for issue with scallops. Only curtesy was to remove scallops from bill. Great ambiance! We went here for a girls holiday dinner. We tried all of the salads and Harry's was the favorite.

Harry's and I go way back. I first came across it in the late 2000's, but then started going more regularly a few years after when I worked down the street. It is also the go-to spot for a group of gentlemen I work with. We committed to eating steak together at least 3 or 4 times a year, and this place is our choice at least 50 percent of the time. I also use it as an occasion place, and have taken many of my friends here. Suffice it to say, I love this place, and I can vouch for its consistency. The experience/ambiance: The place is both modern and classic NY steakhouse vibe. The dishes have Harry's name on them, the glasses change depending on the wine you order. Drinks are always made with precision (I usually get the dirty martini, and they are detailed enough to ask if I want blue cheese stuffing in the olives, I don't even have to ask). The wine list is pricey, but worth it because there is plenty on there you simply cannot buy in the store. If you are having trouble with the selection, not to worry ... they have an on-site sommelier. The food: Phenomenal. Truly. And it is not just the steak. The sides are perfectly cooked and seasoned, the pasta is excellent, and even the salads are good. The standouts: The rice side dishes, the mushrooms, the creamed spinach and the polenta fries. FANCY! I work in the area and was working a conference so the team went out for a celebratory dinner. This is definitely old school New York, dark, candlelit, booth in the corner vibes. Definitely enjoyable! Our hostess and servers were very accommodating, we had a large party and they gave us a nice space to sit, even moving the tables together so our party was close. They also allowed us to split the bill into multiple checks. They continuously checked in on us and kept our cups filled. The food was delicious! I had a filet mignon and my friends and I split 2 sides-broccolini and potatoes. The potatoes might have been a touch too salty but the creaminess of the filet mignon balanced it out. It is definitely expensive so it was a treat for a job well done, but I would certainly splurge in the future. read more

A gentleman came to our table and brought the menus and wine book. He looked disheveled and messy. Truthfully- bad first impression. A waitress comes by with our water- she was extra aggressive with our glasses. Felt like she was upset or annoyed. Either way... unpleasant. We arrived to our NYC vacation late at night in the financial district and this was one of the few restaurants open late on Saturday. I thought this was the city that never sleeps? Anyway, the place is beautiful. Very warm and inviting. Service was great until we finished and tried to get our check. We tried several times to flag a waiter for the check. Harry's is pretty nice as far as steakhouses come and the ambiance within is consistent with this statement. Classy atmosphere with the lighting and decor to match. The staff were all extremely professional and made me feel welcome. I was on the hunt for Beef Wellington in NYC and Harry's seems to be one of the few places that consistently* carries it. I use an asterisk to note that consistently in that they serve it on Wednesdays only (Wellington Wednesdays) as their main special so I made a reservation a week in advance for myself to try it out and to splurge a little on the experience. I started with the lobster bisque soup which was delicious, fresh lobster piled into the center of the bowl while the waiter poured the bisque itself around. The presentation was lovely and bisque was rich - definitely worthwhile and an easy 5/5. Onto the main course... the Beef Wellington itself. I'm conflicted about writing this review for the Wellington as someone who's looked forward to trying it for a very long time. I'll lead with the number score of 4/5; while I found the Beef Wellington itself to be delicious I can understand enough that this iteration of it was not what it could have been. Because Harry's serves the Wellington as a special on Wednesdays, I can only imagine that they've developed their cooking process to be more of a science rather than an art in that multiple orders are made to serve. Rather than a full loaf of puff pastry and filet mignon straight from the oven, I can tell certain corners were cut and the quality of the Wellington show for it in a less than crisp puff pastry exterior slightly damp from the duxelles, and the filet mignon cut itself not particularly warm by the time it got to me. I should again clarify that I personally found it to be delicious but I believe that this being my first time ever having it was what was doing the heavy lifting more so than the quality of the Wellington itself. My hunt continues for fresher Beef Wellington unfortunately but I don't knock Harry's for the quality of the order as I do the issue of being one of a very few places to serve it, and offering it en masse on a week-to-week basis. Still, a strong 4/5. I finished the meal off with an order of their warm chocolate pudding cake and a Brandy Alexander for dessert. Both very tasty and paired well as per my server's suggestion. 5/5. All in all, I do definitely recommend Harry's as both an establishment for quality service and dining as well as a place to *try* Beef Wellington. I emphasize try as, again, I feel like I didn't quite experience all that Beef Wellington had to offer but am glad that it was available at all. Still, a 5/5 for Harry's and the experience but know that if you are on the hunt for great Beef Wellington, Harry's will whet your appetite though not necessarily satiate it. read more

Tried and true. A few words I'd use to describe Harry's would be elegant, timeless and reliable. Returning to Harry's after a long lapse was like visiting an old friend. I've a soft spot for Harry's. Known as a steakhouse (and more), Harry's is a must visit for their killer brunches. With the exception of a few tweaks (prices and varieties of champagne), their brunches include 90 minutes of unlimited champagne. This has not changed since I first visited in 2008 and I swear our unlimited champagne topped at nearly 2 hours. All champagne brunches are complimentary with an entree order except soups or salads AND you must order a small carafe of juice (peach, orange, grapefruit or blood orange at $7) as an accompaniment although our other friend drank her champagne straight. I'm not a huge champagne lover, but with the ambience and style that Harry's exudes, it is fitting. Of course you may order other beverages, alcohol or otherwise. Service was impeccable throughout our entire brunch with several staff tending to us at different times. My friend and I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($26) while another selected the Cacio e Pepe Spaghetti. My dish was cooked to perfection--delicious and a filling portion. We all agreed that we were beyond satisfied with our meals and the time we spent there to have a holiday brunch. Cozy and classic. My kind of ambience. It's tucked into the ground floor of the financial district, and has an old wealthy vibe to it. The interior is dark and is covered with liquor safes. We had the Cesar salad, beef Wellington and cheesecake, with delicious cocktails. The Cesar salad was delicious, and you can tell the croutons were homemade. The beef Wellington was also amazing, we decided to share it because we thought it was going to be too big, but it was the perfect medallion and I would def order my own the next time I go back. Surprising busy in the middle of a snowstorm. Made a reservation for a Friday night, we were seated almost right away. We started with baked clams, shrimp cocktail, crab cake and a lobster bisque. The garlic butter served with the baked clams added an amazing flavor to it, the shrimp cocktail came with three shrimps that tasted fresh, and the lobster bisque was served with a large clump of lobster. For our mains we got the duck, and squid ink linguini, we got creamed spinach, polenta fries and lobster fried rice as sides. They prepared the duck medium rare, and the meat melts in your mouth, super flavorful, definitely for someone who is a fan of duck. The squid ink linguini made shrimp scampi style was lacking, not al dente to our liking, and the noodles were stuck together, but the flavor was there.
