Love a great Harry's brunch. I have only come to Harrys for brunch on multiple occasions. It has always been great. Maybe it's the unlimited mimosas talking but I never even get a chance to get a good picture of the good cuz I'm probably very deep in champagne. The wait staff is very great and on top of the champagne. Not overly a fan of the actual brunch menu so I tend to get pasta and add steak to it. And a ton of crushed red peppers. Crab cake was very average, the warm slaw on the bottom was a weird texture, and the crab itself again seemed under seasoned. First time, last visit... chose because they have a West Palm Beach restaurant so must have a loyal following. Very nice ambience as you walk downstairs & see the cool light fixture in the dining room. It was busy but not too busy on a Monday night before Xmas, with empty tables to our left. Noticed our table rocked whenever one of us leaned on it... so notified the server & busser & a manager corrected it. Was pleasantly surprised they had Faust Cab as we're members there so ordered a glass... not a tall pour for sure. I had a couple Chimay reds that weren't short. They definitely take care to refill your water. Bread was cool & crusty, just like some others like it, I suppose. Appetizers came out and we really enjoyed the Tomatoes with Buffalo Mozzarella (quite salty that went well with my Chimays) salad. The Mushroom soup was a large portion that looked fab but was surprisingly bland. After that it was about 40 minutes before our mains arrived after my wife asked someone. Her low seasoning Filet came out well seasoned & undercooked to her order. My Cacio e Pepe was really quite nice & went well with the Broccolini. This is one of the better outdoor dining set-ups I've seen in Manhattan, benefiting tremendously from the closed off Stone St location, the beautiful cobblestones, and the robust conviviality of the surrounding area. It basically felt like we were dining outdoors in Paris, with the heavy blue curtains and candlelights. We weren't super hungry, so just enjoyed the Tuna Crudo and Filet Mignon, but both were cooked to perfection (okay, the Crudo was lemon-zested to perfection). If you're in the Seaport District and can't get into one of the overpriced restaurants on the piers, this is a good Plan B. read more

We ended up here last night because we were treating one of our parents to dinner as a thank you for driving us to JFK. Harry's was specifically chosen because it's where he had his first bite of beef wellington many, many moons ago and wanted to go back to the source. The ambience is sort of like a moody gentleman's club--it's very darkly-lit and there's dark wood and deep reds everywhere. We enjoyed the table that we got in the back of the main dining room and started with some cocktails. The Botanist G&T was unexciting, but the Old Mr. Johnson was excellent. For starters, the lobster deviled eggs were an interesting take on the classic, and while we appreciated the heap of caviar, the dish was bland and under seasoned. The table-side Caesar salad was odd and disappointing. Like, why on earth do we need to watch somebody make some dressing and toss some leaves in front of us? Future diners can rest-assured that nothing eventful will happen, and the salad was dull to boot. Our mains were all excellent. The boneless filet was cooked perfectly and super juicy. Same with the Colorado lamb--you could tell that the quality of the meat was excellent. But the piece-de-resistance of the whole evening was supposed to be the wellington, but the pomp of it being "carved on the trolly," as the menu promised, never happened. We saw it being rolled out, but then the whole thing got whisked away to a sideboard corner area where some servers cut it (with nobody watching) and then the piece made its way to the table. We were each bestowed a bit of it, and we do have to say: WOW. It was soooooo tender and the crust was flaky and the jus was kicking. Was it $70 wow? Hell no for the portion they gave you with two lame carrots. Side of mashed potatoes was fine; the jelly served with the lamb was gross. Dessert was the biggest let-down of the night. The pecan bread pudding was well-made with a nice texture, but the chocolate layer cake looked--and tasted--like it was thawed from a Sysco freezer truck (dry as hell with little-to-no chocolate flavor). The ice cream sundae for two was yet another odd-disappointing combo. It was ho-hum vanilla and chocolate but was served as "build your own" on a tray with six ramekins of stuff that we would never in our lives want on a sundae. Like, toasted coconut? Uh, no. Also, there were these squeeze bottles containing sauces in them that looked like they belonged in a middle school science lab. Service was efficient but extremely muted. We did ask that they hurry things along since we were under a time constraint, and they did do that, which we appreciated. Overall, the bill came to almost $500 with tip included and...that was just a lot of money for a bunch of stuff that was only OK. If you go: stick to the meat mains as that was the only portion of the meal that we unequivocally all enjoyed. read more

My favorite neighborhood spot...with a great champagne brunch. Their French Toast is amazing...So is the Eggs Benny. Lunch is also perfect. My go-to is the dry aged burger...and if you can sneak in a drink this is the place to do it. If you're a local you already know about Harry's but if you're visiting NYC it's absolutely worth stopping in. The history alone warrants a visit. I work in finance so when I first moved to the neighborhood I couldn't wait to go. Everyone has heard all the stories about deals done at Harry's. You will not be disappointed. read more

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and the food and service were decent. One of the waiters wasn't great but the others made up for it. We got the filet mignon, ribeye, mashed potatoes and mushrooms. We also got the caesar salad and creme brulee dessert and left super full. The chocolate cookie with ice desert was top notch and def recommend. Atmosphere was good. Only complain we had from our group of 25 was that the squid ink pasta was way to soft. Indoor seating has finally opened up and we were fortunate to land a reservation to celebrate my niece's 25th Bday. The health & safety precautions are top notch. The service great. The staff very friendly. The bartender is the truth. The LITs taste like ice tea...be careful. Their signature cocktails were also very good. But let me tell you about the food...OMG. Portions are served family style. So what do you think our party of 6 did?!? That Tomahawk was perfection. The New York Strip Steak, Ribeye Steak and salmon were cooked just right and so tasty. We ordered the Lobster Fried Rice, Polenta and Fresh Cut Fries, and Spinach. Harry's deserves its rating. TIP: ICON Parking lot on S William Street is $65 (VERY HIGHY) finding a spot is pure luck. We sat outside on a cool summer night during CoVID which was interesting. If you like smelling weed and homeless people literally laying nearby, this is the place for you! They have paper menus and are trying to social distance the tables. The waitstaff wear masks which is reassuring. It's a crazy time and they seem to be doing well so we are giving it a try! I've been here at least a dozen times, pre-pandemic, and now! Harry's is always reliably elevated yet comforting. The food is well executed and interesting but also familiar. I love that I can come here for a casual date night or when I want to feel fancy with the girls. Also here is *the* tip their wine prices are GREAT!!! Multiple bottles available under $70, absolutely love to see it. Of course, I can't resist a martini or a manhattan on every visit and their ceasar salad is probably my favorite in the city. If you're going indulgent I definitely recommend getting the bernaise sauce add on...amazing on both steaks and sides and is a total treat yourself experience. I'm super torn over this review. For starters-it's underground. A tight and steep set of stairs plus skinny doors. Good luck if you've got any type of wheels. We had a stroller so I went in first and asked if they had a table available for 4 (it was a Saturday night around 6pm) the hostess said they did. I walked to grab the rest of my people and managed to get our stroller down and in. I'm guessing it was the manager, at the host stand now and he seemed annoyed we had kids, stroller or both. We were sat and got our drinks ordered + food. We had 3 different servers taking care of us and they were all great. They do not do generous pours for wine, soft drinks come in glass bottles. The salad made table side was the absolute best salad I've ever had. I could have ate several more of those. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and brought out already sliced for you. The polenta fries are essentially fried grits and are SO good. The cheeseburger was BIG and delicious! Possibly the best burger I've ever had. Cheesecake is made in-house and great! Our servers were so good and this is where I am torn. We came for a weekend birthday trip for my 9 year old. Harry's is the ONLY place I used my card the entire trip. It's the only place my card was taken out of its case and out of my possession. We used cash for every single other meal and purchase. My bank account/card numbers were used shortly after we returned home in Brooklyn (around $140) which leads me to believe someone at this restaurant wrote down my cards numbers/took photos of my card. Disheartening and disappointing. This review would have turned out very different as this was one of the best restaurant experiences we've had but having my card information stolen completely took it all away. Just ate here at Harry's for the first time in a while. I used to come here somewhat frequently before Covid. Post Covid everything in NYC changed. Broadly service levels decreased, even menu and food quality at most restaurant down hill, all while prices went up considerably. It's been some time now as of early 2024 for places to adapt and stage a comeback. Many restaurants have not, they still seem to offer less service, lower quality and over charge for what you're getting. I'm other words a complete waste of money. However, this is not the case for Harry's. Harry's is back in almost all of its pre Covid glory. Food was amazing, service was amazing, ambiance was amazing. The last place I ate at, I was angry as I was forking over the bill. Not here, for once in NYC I was completely happy to pay the bill, add the tip, not merely indifferent or angry. 10/10 read more

This is elementary and I thought it was completely unacceptable that they could not even get the fries right. And I ordered my ribeye medium rare and it came medium. I was so impressed with Harry's brunch. I highly recommend a reservation and that's easy to do on Resy. They offer brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 12-3:30pm. I initially looked at the menu and thought - oh no, another overpriced brunch with $20-30 entrees. Don't be fooled, the reason for the price is because it comes with unlimited champagne for 90 minutes! The cost of one mimosa in New York can often be $10, 12 or even $15 so if you are looking for a boozy brunch Harry's is a great choice and value. The servers were all excellent and all the food came out quickly. I loved my smoked salmon eggs benedict and my friend and I shared the polenta fries with truffle aioli - yum! In addition the the champagne you can add a carafe of OJ, peach nectar or cordials. We chose the peach nectar and it was a great addition to the unlimited champagne. I can't wait to return to Harry's and try more of the brunch menu items. read more

The second star was gained entirely due to the professionalism of the manager of Harry's and the wonderful bus boy who picked up my horrible waiter's (Enrico FYI) slack. Enrico spilled champagne over our table without saying sorry or bringing a towel. We were left to eat on a sticky wet table. This was the kind of meal where I kept an open note of bullet points on my phone about how horribly awry things went. To start our table wasn't ready when we arrived- which ok New York brunch at 1 pm on Sunday is par for the course. We went to the bar then and ordered espresso martinis. The bar service was slow so we ended up heading to our table before the martinis were ready- also fine and normal. However 20 minutes and a reminder to the bus boy (again the waiter was a mere mirage for the meal) to get them and they came without baileys, again preference but I was shocked when I was charged 14 dollars per shot of baileys on top of a 16 dollar martini. I know it's New York- but I've never paid 30 dollars for a drink that didn't come with gold or a lobster tail attached. We were served our first champagne at 38 minutes into a 90 min time limit for the champagne brunch. Which yes, is 7 minutes short of half our entire allotted time. Also note here, we asked for blood orange and got what I'm pretty sure is Minute Maid standard OJ. They also were out of the steak and eggs by 1 pm. Also out of bread. Since we didn't get a drink until 38 min in, we had ordered a side of hash browns and fries to put something in our stomachs. What ended up happening though is that the first round of champagne came 2 min after our martinis and our entrees within 30 seconds of that. Ignored for the first forty minutes and then two drinks and entrees at once. Horrible timing for a leisurely meal. I honestly was excited for some good ole red meat at Harry's- you know as it is a steakhouse. They were out of the steak and eggs so I needed up going with Waygu burger- 27 dollars on the menu. Tolerable price for Waygu, although I'd argue the impossible burger at BK lounge is just as good as Harry's Waygu. It was a VERY chewy Waygu. All in all, if we had a better waiter maybe would have been a better meal. I'll never be over the 30 dollar martini but the manager was a true professional and the bus boy saved the day on filling up the champagne. Let's start with the good. The ambiance is wonderful. I also loved our head server. The not so good... It took a very long time for our meals to come out. When they arrived, my son-in-law's burger tasted like fish, which he returned. Our server took the burger off the check but did not offer an alternative (we did not expect a freebie). However, he did give him a glass of wine (we had ordered a bottle). After we were done, the plates were not cleared until my daughter requested it (more than 15 minutes had passed). A friend of mine recommended this place for Saturday brunch and man of man it was an amazing spot! She totally nailed it for picking the spot. We were seated in a nice booth area, enough room for all 4 of us to enjoy eating and drinking. The bottomless champagne with our peach nectar juice was amazing. We all pretty much ordered the same thing- steak and eggs but just different version of eggs. My eggs were scrambled with cheddar cheese. The plate came with delicious hash browns and toast. It was so much and it was soooooo good. For dessert, we had the Creme brûlée which was just right! And the warm chocolate cake. I thought both were yummy. I don't know how much champagne we had.... our waiter was very attentive, kept all our glasses filled... never letting it go empty. The atmosphere was amazing!
