I am the kind of person who reads comments and reviews online for like 3 hours before deciding with which company I am gonna go with, which brand I am gonna buy, which restaurant I am gonna go to... I was on the hunt for a good and affordable carpet cleaner in Austin, who could get rid off the pee odor coming from our carpet after our dog peed on it several times... They got me in on very short notice, did a fantastic job and were extremely reasonable on the cost. They put of corner protectors so they wouldn't scuff the paint on the walls. 4/4: Was my go to guy for home and church, but today's experience says no more. I scheduled a week and half in advance and have him the requirements/measurement. He kept apologizing for taking too long and not bringing a 2nd truck, even though he knew square footage in advance. He estimated tile dry time to be an hour, 3+ hours later, still small puddles. He missed areas, not just spots, areas. He measured my floor 200 more square feet than a competitor. 4/5 Update: Next day all issues were remedied. They sent out two guys and knocked it out. I hate to leave a bad review. But, I'm also tried of wasting time and money on contractors who don't do the job they say they'll do. Hart's sounded great at first on the phone. $100.00 for two bedrooms, and two rugs in main living room area. They'd put plastic under our two area rugs to clean them in our condo. Versus, another company that charges $75. per pickup and $75. for delivery, plus cleaning. They kept me posted on their arrival time, since we had to leave by a certain time. They arrived with plenty of time, before we had to leave. However, when the two cleaners arrived, the manager of the two (I'll withhold their names), argued with me, insisting that one of our rugs didn't need to be cleaned. This went on for several minutes, until he finally agreed to clean it for the quoted price on the phone. The next hurdle was that the manager insisted on NOT putting plastic under our rugs. Insisting that no cleaner would soak through to the floors, or splash over onto the floors, our expensive hardwood floors. This also was false. Both carpets ended up being soaked through with cleaner, and cleaner started splashing onto hardwood flooring. And, almost splashed onto our leather sofa, before I insisted on moving it. The manager kept insisting that rug cleaner wouldn't hurt anything. Also, we assumed that they'd move furniture, like other services that we'd used in the past. Manager insisted that they only cleaned around furniture, and would not move it. So, a lot of areas were not cleaned. In hindsight, I should have called Hart's main number and spoken to someone higher up. The one problem was with this manager of the two carpet cleaners. The other cleaner did what the first one said to do. Fortunately, my husband was working nearby in our condo lounge. I texted him, when I saw cleaner first being sprayed on our hardwood floors, etc. He came in. Together, he and I started moving the furniture, including our leather sofa. Then, the manager finally agreed to put plastic under the big rug, and clean the smaller rug on top of it. We then hung the smaller rug over the balcony to dry. I used wood cleaner right away to wipe the carpet cleaner off of our hardwood floors. Otherwise, our hardwood floors could have been damaged. Seven hours later, when we returned home, we felt the underside of the rugs. They were still wet or damp in most areas. Long story short, I think the problem is with this one employee. They were all very polite, including him. But, manager politely refused/argued about providing the services that we'd signed up for via the phone. read more

I first called Hart's Carpet Cleaning when my regular guy moved his business to Dallas. I was looking for an independent rather than a chain, as I find they tend to take more time and interest in their customers. Hart's is no exception. The owner came to my home on time, called thirty minutes before to ensure I was there. I have difficult to clean berber and pets. Not a good combination. The owner took the time to look at everything, discuss what he would do, told me what type of products he uses (he only uses organic cleaning agents). He put up guards around the wall edges where his hoses came in. He took his time; no rushing. He did a fantastic job and he was so reasonable. He was less expensive than almost anyone I have used. He usually has a special going that makes it even more affordable. I could not get on his schedule in the spring and made the mistake of using another company. My carpets looked worse than ever when they left. I just had Hart's out again on Saturday and he was able to once again, make my carpets look wonderful. I highly recommend them. I wanted to add up update. I recently had David out to clean my carpet and decided to try his upholstery cleaning. My dogs are always on the furniture and they were beginning to smell like dog. David did my sofa, chair and ottoman. They look great, smell great and he uses a quick dry method. We were sitting on dry furniture that very evening. The best part though, is how reasonably priced he is. He is simply the best. read more

I am really, really impressed with these guys. I sent an identical email to 3 carpet cleaning companies on Yelp, all with excellent reviews. The email detailed the exact size of the carpeted bedroom to be steam-cleaned, as well as condition of the carpet (some pet stains). I also asked that they clean an 8x10 poly area rug. 2 of the companies responded with quotes in the $187-222 range (possibly more, depending on the material of the rug). $187-222+ for ONE master bedroom and an area rug that was hardly soiled? It seemed really excessive. Then Hart's contacted me. They said they would charge only their minimum ($80) for my bedroom, which meant they were basically doing my area rug for free. I could hardly believe it, but I trusted the Yelp reviews and was glad I did. Hart's did a wonderful job. I can't remember the name of the guy that came out, but he was super-friendly and thorough. He paid extra attention to the places with pet stains and was nice enough to move some of the furniture on my area rug. The carpet looked (and smelled) great when he was done. Even after drying, only two small spots reappeared and I took care of those by hand. The pet stains are nearly undetectable. I will contact these guys again and again whenever I need my carpet cleaned!!! read more

No putting off. Hart's offered organic (or Green) for the same price as regular chemicals...AND they had a great 3 room rate and sofa-love seat special. David and his co-worker were just a few minutes late (like 4 minutes) and extremely professional. David walked throughout my house wearing shoe booties and recapped what I was wanting. I'm 25 weeks pregnant and have a 13 month old so my attention was elsewhere. Had my carpet cleaned today... My house smells AMAZING. He was in and out and done before I could blink, and didn't leave one drop of water, or dirt in my home. It was like he had never been here, except my stinky carpet was magically freshened. Edit: a few days later I got down to smell my carpet where I had the serious stains. I still smell the faint dog urine smell (I have dogs and there were dogs here before) but overall I'm still keeping my high review. We decided to use Hart's after reading all the great reviews, and I'm so glad we did. Matt came out to clean 3 carpeted bedrooms and a (very dirty) couch and oversized chair. He called 30 min out and arrived at 9:00 on the dot. In less than an hour, he'd finished all the bedrooms and left the carpet looking amazing and smelling clean. The couch and chair took longer, but only because he really took his time, cleaning every bit of the upholstery and pillows, making sure to get out all the pesky rawhide residue our pup had left behind. We needed the cleaning services because we're expecting a little one soon, so I appreciate that they use organic cleaners and minimal deodorizers. Everything just smelled CLEAN, not sprayed to death. He was friendly and professional throughout the service, and I appreciated his attention to detail. He cleaned our small cotton sectional couch, which was covered in puppy hair and drool, so thoroughly, that it looks brand new. The cleaning solution smells great, too, and isn't overpowering. He called hours ahead to let me know that he might be a bit late, because of a traffic situation that was putting him behind for his first appointment. Unfortunately, Kitteh couldn't help but relieve herself all over different spots in our brand new home. I just moved to Austin into a house in Hyde Park. The downstairs is all hardwoods but there's carpeting up the stairs, on the landing and in the master bedroom. When I moved in the carpet was in terrible shape. It was severely stained, especially in a traffic pattern up the stairs and through the master. Plus the carpet needed restretched, nearly every step plus the landing, master and master closet. I was told by the management company that it's a berber and that's as good as it gets. They said that the previous tenants, a group of college students, had tried to clean it with no luck, then Stanley Steamer was called out. They said that I would have to deal with it and maybe the landlord would change out the carpet next year after my lease was up. There was just no way I was going to live here with the carpet the way it was. So I used yelp to find a carpet cleaner with really good ratings. I called 3 differenet ones, but choose to go with Hart's. We set the appointment for 5 days later. David called to say his earlier job ran over and that he was running 15 minutes behind. He actually ended up being only 5 minutes late. He was very courteous, personable and professional. Not only did he get the stains out so that the carpet looks awesome again, he spot treated and deoderized, he restretched each step and the couple of areas upstairs.......and charged me a very reasonable price!!! I have several pets so I'm religious about getting the carpets cleaned every 6 months and I will definitely call Hart's again. Actually I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. While at our house, David was very careful to explain exactly what he was going to do and used bumper guards for walls and furniture and put feet guards on shoes so as not to get any dirt in our house. I know all of these 5 star ratings seem too good to be true BUT it really is true!. Mr. Hart kept in touch during the afternoon as far as timing, he set his equipment up quickly and before we knew it he was done. There isn't alot of carpet however Mr. Hart still requested a walk through for problem areas (stains, pet etc. of which we had none) and he was very respectful of the furniture and walls in our home. We were impressed with how easy and affordable it was to hire Hart's. He mentioned a job earlier in the day had lots of tile that was deeply soiled so he'd been running about 30 minutes late all day however he still showed up within the window he gave me. It is rare that a service exceeds your expectations, but Hart's did. My white linen sectional had started to show the effects of 5+ years of 2 adults and a child (think infant spit-up, spilled wine, grimy little hands). My technician, Jerry, texted me promptly 30 minutes before my service window and let me know when to expect him. When he arrived he wore shoe covers (thank you - not everyone does that!) and explained how long the service would take. When he finished, I was SHOCKED - my sofa looks brand new!
