Everything was EXCELLENT! We thoroughly enjoyed our food. Hubby was craving ramen and it hit the spot! Best ramen in town! My daughter ordered her favorite salmon skin roll and I tried the popcorn lobster roll. Everything was delicious! Service was SUPERB! Everyone was friendly and warm.

I was recently in town and found this small locally owned sushi restaurant with a good atmosphere and service. I had the Harumi 3. The food was amazing. I will happily go back again.

If you're looking for amazing Japanese food in Monterey County, I can't recommend Harumi's Sushi enough. I've been coming here for years, and it's consistently my go-to spot. From the moment you walk in, the hospitality makes you feel welcome, and the quality of the food speaks for itself. Their house salad with that signature dressing is seriously addictive, and the beef teriyaki stands out because they use real, high-quality steak, not something you find everywhere. And if you love sushi, you have to try the Ooh La La roll, it's easily one of my favorites and always hits the mark. Whether you're a local or just visiting the area, this is the kind of place you'll keep coming back to. For great food, great service, and a reliable, top-tier experience, Harumi's is always my first choice.

Best sushi spot in town. Always consistent! Best hot cheeto roll I've found! Good veggie options and eternal sunshine is so fresh.

The restaurant is cool. The sushi bar is cool and very popular. The dining is good as well. Our service was fine and the waitress was very friendly. I ordered the kuromayo ramen. Very good soup broth. I added chili oil to it, much better. (Had to request the chili oil) the chashu in the ramen is so good. Very well made.

Found this restaurant on yelp and decided to give it a try. We went on a weekday afternoon right at 4:50ish to find out the are closed until 5:00pm. No biggie so we walked around the plaza until they reopened at 5 PM and were promptly seated. They have a good selection of items on the menu with some specials. The hostess was very nice and attentive. The food however, was just OK. I did not particularly love my sushi roll as it had way too much cream cheese that overpowered the roll and everything else was just average. We ended up taking about half of the food to go because we didn't love how it tasted unfortunately. Normally, when the food is delicious, my husband will clean his plate. This time we found it to be a little bland and not flavorful. It was, however, fresh. The atmosphere of the place is nice however it gets pretty busy around 5:30pm. I think overall based on the yelp reviews, it was worth the try, but will continue to try out other sushi spots in the area.

visiting Monterey and craving for sushi. found this place that has a decent sushi bar. 3 sushi chefs, 1 asian chef who doesn't speak much English. most orders are run by the hispanic chef who spoke fluent english. they do have a combination of sushi rolls and other typical Japanese menu items. we don't usually order rolls as we felt it's too much rice to fill the tummy too fast. but we still ended up ordering 2 rolls, lana roll and protein roll. then we ordered a tonkatsu ramen to share at the end. the rolls were average, portion was similar to what we're used to from SoCal. price is higher but not by much. when the ramen came, hubby and I both thought it was good portion in a large bowl. lots of chashu pork belly (5 pieces). soup was very flavorful. we were surprise to see that we got charged additional $4 for extra chashu (which we didn't order but waitress's english had a strong accent so there might have been a misunderstanding?) but $4 for 5 pieces of chashu? we wondered how many pieces comes with the original order?

We came for some ramen dinner. I ordered the miso ramen and while it looked appetizing, it felt lacking flavor wise, almost like it needed more salt. I tried my friends' tonkatsu ramen and that was delicious. Also tried their chicken karaage which was pretty good. The service is pretty fast.

Parking was only mildly challenging, as a space opened up after only a single lap around the block. Inside here, you'll find a busy place with a few tables and individual bar-style (partitioned!) paired seating along the walls adjacent to the kitchen in the middle part of the restaurant. Order up at the self-serve order kiosks, tap in your table/counter number, and they bring out your order in a couple of minutes. We had six of us in our party, and most of us kept it simple by ordering the default Tonkatsu Ramen with different customizable options. Most all of the ingredients in this order were on point - The Chasu Pork Belly was tender, thick and delicious, ramen noodles nothing special, but generally stil on point, as were the bamboo shoots. However, the co-star/centerpiece of the Tonkatsu Ramen other than the Chasu Pork slab should be the broth, but sadly the broth was far far TOO salty which overpowered the other flavors in the broth. Chasu Pork 4.8/5, Tonkatsu Ramen 3.1/5. Service was good as everyone was hustling hard in the kitchen, along with attentive bussers/waitstaff to quickly turn tables. They take good care in wiping down the tables here. If I return, I'll just get the Paitan Ramen like I did in years past, as that seemed less salty. Then again the Paitan soup base begins with the same chicken+pork soup base as the Tonkatsu Ramen. I hope Toribashi will step back up to their former glory.

3.5 STARS HELLO,…read moreMEAT SWEATS! Escaping the 4th of July warzone in The City, we headed to Carmel for a quiet staycation. The Carmel food scene tends to be mid and overpriced so I was in search of more affordable, local gems in Seaside and Marina areas. BUTCHER SHOP Array of ethically sourced meats - amazing looking marbled steaks, pork, veal, and handcrafted sausages (Mmm, blood sausage and fermented garlic sausage!). They also have house-made sauces and spice blends, condiments, compound butters, duck fat, and more. There's even fresh dog food (e.g. beef sirloin, brown rice, and blueberries) which I bought for my dogs. EATERY Made-to-order sandwiches and BBQ (brisket, pulled pork, ribs, etc) in the hot case. House-made sides (potato salad, mac salad, and kimchi) are available in the cold case. Bottled drinks including beer available. You can order ahead online but we ordered in-person. Note: Check Toast for the most up-to-date prices; the online menu has the old prices. There's about 6 tables for dine-in. Self-serve water. Bus your own tables when finished. F O O D * 18 Hour Smoked Brisket Sandwich ($18): https://tinyurl.com/rceamucw - Requested mix of wet/moist and lean brisket A signature item, the brisket sandwich was sorely disappointing. While I enjoyed the fresh, soft bun, tangy cola-cola bbq sauce, and acidic pickled onions, the lean brisket was very dry and tough (at opening time). * Calamari Steak Po'Boy Sandwich ($18): https://tinyurl.com/yn7zsvz6 The unique coastal twist on a New Orleans classic sounded promising on paper. The sesame roll was light and fluffy, and the slaw had a delicious creamy tang. Unfortunately, the thin, fried calamari steak was dry and chewy, while the heavily salted breadcrumbs overwhelmed its delicate flavor. * Dino Beef Rib ($21.50/lb): https://tinyurl.com/j8dsxnvc Eyeing this on another table, we decided to order it after trying the sandwiches. Def the highlight of our meal - the beef rib was rich, tender, and deeply savory. Not overly fatty with a crispy bark. Light on the seasoning and smoke so the tangy BBQ sauce came through for a boost of flavor. * Wedge Fries ($8) Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, the wedges were dusted with their house seasoning mix (savory w/ a touch of smoky flavor) and served with a side of their fermented chipotle ketchup. * Kimchi Cucumber ($7.50) A blend of napa cabbage and thinly sliced cucumbers, the kimchi was mild and tangy. The perfect acidic in-between bites. S E R V I C E Warm, friendly service. Food came out fast. Overall, maybe we visited on an off day for the eatery. I can see why The Meatery is a local fav for their butcher shop tho. I mean, if I lived nearby, I would be all over 'em sausages! P.S - 3.5 stars rounded up for a small business.
