    Beacon Hill Cheeseburger with fries
    Alejandra H.

My friends and I dropped in for a quick, casual bite before the fireworks this Fourth of July. It was quite busy because of the holiday, but was quickly seated. I split the beacon hill cheeseburger with a friend and they gave it to us perfectly cut with equal amount of fries which was great! My other friend had the chicken wrap and she noted that it was yummy and flavorful, but a bit too saucy. Another friend had the bang bang shrimp and said that she would have preferred the sauce being already mixed in instead of being beneath the fried shrimp. Overall it was a good experience, but nothing super notable. It's good for a quick bite with friends and our waiter was really nice so I give it a 3.5/5.

Definitely recommend trying this pub out. The service is quick and I've never had a bad meal here. It is small so make a reservation or be prepared to wait. They do have TV's so definitely a great place to stop by if there's a game on.

Walked in since ma maison had no available seats. After checking in on Yelp a 15% coupon popped up! We got the truffle Mac. This was actually fantastic. Served two people, peas in it were excellent, the truffle was tasteful and delicious. Dish didn't need anything else, normally I find I like my Mac with more salt and pepper. Two drinks, sat at the bar, had a great time. This is not some cutesy botanical place, that is why I initially thought looking at the sign. Ambience is like a clean and upgraded boston sports bar pub type thing.

We returned here again for farewell party to one of our colleague. Party of 8. I'm surprised that there's no pulled pork burger in their menu, but I settled for HG burger and it was delicious. Service was fast and their Black Widow's bite is tasty. Looking forward to dine here in near future!!

This is an awesome spot to hang out for a quick bite and drink after work. The staff is incredibly friendly and the service is pretty fast. It's not a fancy restaurant and bar by any means but it has all the necessities, high top tables, coat hooks, big bar, and groups seating areas. The food itself is good. My friends and I opted for chicken tenders, fries, and a hummus platter of sort. The food was fresh and tasty!

My family and I had a great experience here. Long few days at MGH and stopped here before heading home. Our server was amazing and she had spot on recommendations. Good prices, great food and just want we needed.

This restaurant was close to Hospital so we went for a quick bite. Though we wish we had chose one of the other restaurants on the street. I can be a germ phobia so it may have been me over sensitive but when I saw the condition of the kitchen which is across from restroom it really made me feel sick. Additionally the silverware and drinking glasses were given to us dirty as well. The salad I ordered was ok though after seeing kitchen I could not finish it but the French onion soup was bland and did not have a good taste to it. Overall a huge disappointment would have been better off at hospital cafeteria

Maybe I'm too old, but fine dining should involve that refinement. Stop calling yourself fine dining and call it expensive food with uppity servers and no dress code. Food was amazing- so please know I would absolutely go back for the food! We had lobster bisque, the best Caesar salad (top 5), calm chowder, shrimp and clams, lamb and a fillet. During our meal just after the lovely table side service of the lobster bisque my son accidentally moved the table with his feet and the drinks flew into my food. Our server watched it happen and walked away. She turned not to help but out of disgust walked the other way! The food runner came to the rescue! But then we were charged for another drink that spilled! I don't know but when your at fine dining and you get double charged for a table moving and treated like you are an inconvenience that gets me. Plus she was clearly angry with us. Food 5 stars, service 2, price for the service we received totally not worth it. Don't waste your money to get treated badly. Sorry kitchen but front of the house ruined it.

You can immediately tell this place takes pride in what they do, especially when you see the chefs in action. Watching them work with the freshly made dough and expertly handle the pizza oven added such a fun and authentic touch to the experience. The food was absolutely incredible. The pizza was hands down one of the best we've had--perfectly crisp crust, fresh ingredients, and full of flavor in every bite. We also ordered the cucumber salad, which was refreshing, light, and the perfect complement to the richness of the pizza. Everything about our visit felt thoughtfully done, from the quality of the food to the energy of the space. While the kitchen delivered a solid meal, the service was so profoundly disappointing that it completely overshadowed the food. The culinary side of things easily earns a solid 3.5 out of 5 stars. We ordered a wide variety of items to share, and the highlights included: * The Pizzas: Creative flavor combinations with fresh, high-quality toppings and fantastic crusts. * The Bucatini Pasta: Perfectly cooked and packed with rich flavor. * The Asparagus Appetizer & The Chicken Milanese: Both executed well, flavorful, and cooked to a high standard. Unfortunately, the front-of-house experience was uniformly horrible. For a large party, hospitality can make or break the night, and our server missed the mark at every single turn: * Argumentative & Dismissive: He actively argued with our host regarding an appetizer that had been ordered in advance. When asked about vegetarian substitutions for a sold-out pasta dish, he curtly replied, "Pasta with butter is all we can do"--despite the fact that we could clearly see a wide variety of fresh vegetables being used right on their pizzas. * Inattentive: Dirty dishes piled up on our table, and when we politely asked for them to be cleared, he claimed he needed to get help and walked away completely empty-handed. Our drink orders were rarely checked on or refilled. * Rude to Guests: He displayed visible attitude and put-off body language whenever anyone asked a simple question. This peaked when he was outright rude to one of the young women in our party who simply wanted to put her order in a bit early because she had to leave before the rest of the group. It is a real shame because the ingredients and the kitchen's output are genuinely good. However, between the hostile attitude and the lack of basic service standards, we unfortunately won't be rushing back.

We had a 7:15 reservation on a Friday night. We arrived at 7:05, and the restaurant was FULL. The hostess greeted us and told us our table was being prepared. I am happy to say we were seated on time at a beautiful table for 4. The decor and atmosphere were really beautiful. It had a strong neighborhood feel that is remarkably unique. Our server introduced herself and took our drink order. My wife had a tropical Negroni, and I ordered a Vieux Carré. The drinks were generously sized and well made. We ordered our meals. We started with Burrata Toast and Oysters Rockefeller. The oysters were placed on a covered plate to contain the smoke. The presentation was only eclipsed by the oysters' flavor. The burrata toast was large enough to share between the four of us. The presentation was also beautiful, and the flavors were superb. Our entrees included: herb-crusted halibut, steak frites, the signature 1928 burger, and a gorgeous short rib with some fabulous crispy Brussels sprouts. We shared a single Sticky coffee pudding for dessert. All I can say is that the food and libations were superb, and the service was superb. It is not inexpensive, but no more so than any upscale restaurant in Boston. I would take the few recent negative reviews with a grain of salt. My husband had indicated on the online reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, and that was the only mention of our celebration. It was a rainy day in Boston so we decided to spend the day indoors. We saw this restaurant and it looked beautiful so decided to come here for lunch. The hostesses were all super nice and professional. The ambiance is gorgeous. Unfortunately, the outdoor patio was closed today due to inclement weather. When we first sat down our waiter seemed distracted and in a bad mood. Everyone has an off day so we didn't think too much of it. He took our drink orders and we received our drinks quickly. When we went to order we both had planned on brunch. It was our fault that we missed that brunch is only served on the weekends, but this is where things really went wrong. The waiter was irritated that we asked him to come back. He seemed to have forgotten to come back as we sat for about a half hour before he came back. Both of our drinks were empty and we still hadn't ordered. Finally we ordered and got more drinks. The food came and I had ordered the carne asada tacos. I took one bite and knew I was in trouble. The meat was so chewy that I couldn't break it down. After chewing for what felt like an eternity, I had a choice to make. Spit it out or swallow it whole. I made the decision to swallow and then began a near choking experience. To be fair I have issues with my esophagus so I am known to eat very dainty bites. But I literally had to force myself to vomit this up in the restroom. The waiter came back and didn't even inquire as to why someone would eat just one bite of food. You would think that he would ask if I didn't like it or something. I'm not sure what was going on with that meat but it was inedible. The waiter was rude and not attentive. The rest of the experience was good though. I will go back and give it another try because one bad waiter and one bad dish deserves one more try.
