So here's my verdict... This place is NOT good. Not even a little bit, and I'm judging based on Asian buffet standards. The food is bland and has nothing I can report as being okay. That includes main dishes, soups, Mongolian grill, and some of the non Asian fare. Full disclosure, I did not have anything from the sushi bar. Not even the desert bar was good. I know they are supposed to be the sister restaurant to the Feast in Renton but they are nothing alike. I am walking away underwhelmed regretting having spent the $11.99 for lunch. Well... This place is very big, clean, and modern. This buffet is suppose to be comparable to Feast Buffet in Renton.. However in my opinion they missed the mark. Meanwhile the place have many stations: salads, dim sum, Mongolian grill, soup, dessert, and entrees. The quality is basic. The food is basically like every other Asian buffet. There are a lot of variety, but the flavor is mostly bland. The price for dinner is $17.99 for adults and during the "soft opening" soda and teas are free. Otherwise they are $ 0.99 each but refillable. For the price for dinner I was expecting snow crab legs like most Asian buffets. But sadly they did not have them.. The seafoods they had were crawfish, black bean clams, and cold raw oysters, shrimps, and deep fried blue crab. The crawfish was big but poor quality, the meat was hard to take out or shell. That's when you know it's old. The black beans clams was okay but they were dirty, I kept biting on dirt. The deep fried crab wasn't seasoned well and the meat was very mushy. The place got busy since we went during dinner time on a Sunday. The line wasn't too long but it was a bit confusing as it was hard to tell who was in charge of front of the house. There were many Chinese employee standing around making it hard to determine who to talk to. They can improve on this. I am giving this place a 3 stars today simply for the fact that this is their "soft grand opening." So this mean they will have time to make changes and tweaks to their menus and quality. I'm also giving it 3 stares because of the big variety of options, and for the our busser being attentive to our table. We got sat in a big banquet style room in a big round family style dinner table. It was clean and spacious. For the price I don't think I would go again unless they make some quality changes or if it's a special family occasion. This post will be a bit long and graphic, but a must read. This is my 2nd visit since going to Harvest Buffet on their opening day October 17th, 2019 and will be my last. On Saturday January 18th, 2020 at 5:30pm my son and I went to Harvest Buffet. It was very busy (which I expected). We were given a number and waited with everyone else. The capacity of this restaurant is 545 and it was full. We were seated close to 6pm and left about 7:15pm. By 2:00am, I started getting severe stomach cramps and not long after I had severe projectile vomiting and diarrhea. I developed a stomach virus from Harvest Buffet because when I went to the bathroom before eating my food, BOTH of the soap machines were NOT working. BOTH of the paper towel machines were NOT working and the sinks ONLY ran cold water. I have worked in health care for over 15 yrs and I know the difference between a stomach virus (projectile vomiting, diarrhea and low grade fever) and food poisoning/stomach flu (vomiting, diarrhea and bloody stool). The restaurant opened that day at 11am and we left at 7:15pm, so just think of all of the nearly 1000 people who DID NOT or COULD NOT wash their hands after using the bathroom (either at home or there) and then touched all of the tongs. We were seated after about 20 minutes and then proceeded to get our food. I got 2 plates, 1 with bread and the other I got 2 thin strips of steak and then gave it to 1 of the guys at the grill. There were several people also at the grill that came after me, also with steaks. As my steak was grilling I went to sit my bread at my table which was right across from the grill and that quick my steak was given away. I also got another plate and put shrimp and a few other items on it. The grill area was VERY chaotic and as people handed the cook their meat, it was just tossed on the grill with knowing what meat belong to who. Some people were getting upset. It was also chaotic because there were many young children ripping and running without a adult with them cause lots of near misses and spills. The guys on the grill were stressed. And as far as the line to get food, people were coming in both directions and children were just running up and cutting in line. While I was at my table, I saw a young boy at 10 yrs old make himself a salad, ladle on his salad dressing and then take his finger to scrape out the rest of the dressing in the ladle onto his salad. I will not be eating at Harvest Buffet again because the hygiene there is atrocious. read more

So this was my first visit here and I will say some of the front desk employees are very rude and unfriendly but so far, my rating is not effected by that. Upon arrival parking was difficult because there is a lot of people coming here (one of the only buffets in Tacoma) but I did enjoy the scene and atmosphere it is similar to Feast buffet that is in South Center area. Limited menu items, and wall to wall people. I only came here because my In - Laws wanted to. The food tastes weird, and everyone in my family agreed. I'll never return. So much noise. Drove nearly 30 miles each way to sample this place. Got to the parking lot and it was a zoo. Circled three times but could not find parking! People were running over each other trying to find parking! Who said there is plenty of parking? People had even taken over the parking at nearby businesses. Finally found a spot on street a block away. Go the front of the restaurant and line is now gone outside the door! I look and there is plenty of room inside for people to line up. But they had only organized one row, pushing people out. Waited about 10 minutes and still stuck outside in cold windy day. So we gave up. As we walked by, we see that at least 20% of the tables were empty! Come on people. Learn how to run a restaurant. Get people in and out. Nothing is worth this kind of hassle let alone a buffet. Wound up going to Outback restaurant in the same shopping center. When and if we make it back and actually sample the food, I will upgrade the review. For now, stay the heck away from this place if you want to a have peaceful meal on a weekend. read more

Stopped by with large family crowd for late lunch. I had beard great things about this place. How they had more than just traditional Chinese and Asian food. But it was just that. Mostly Asian items. The few non Asian items included chicken drummets which were nice. Roasted beef/pot roast was very fatty. Everything else just so/so. One of the soda machines was out of order. Dropped food items on the floor seemed to take forever to get cleaned up. Staff seemed very friendly tho. To top it off 6 hours later I was sick with diaharrea for hours so possibly food contamination. Overall a big disappointment. I will not be back. read more

Price is reasonable a little more expensive than AAA but totally worth it because food quality is much better new restaurant so its definitely clean, more selection on food and has staff scooping ice cream.for you so other people cant get there hand in there. All I found to eat was two tablespoons of food, if you eat sushi, rice and crayfish this place may be for you. Steam table dishes were lukewarm at best, there was a hunk of very fatty chuck roast-cut it yourself and I could not even bite into the orange chicken it was so hard. There is no table service, get your own drinks, etc. and there are no serving stations--pricey for me, and not for people that like old time American food. Huge place with a lot of different variety. The grill is awesome and probably the only thing that will keep us going back food wise. Everything else is just basic flavor, not great but not bad either. The decor is really nice but it gets packed and if you don't leave someone at your table when you go get something your table might be given up like ours was. read more

I love this place. Lots of options and decent sushi. They do a good job of keeping the place clean even though it gets pretty crowded and hectic in there. The hibachi station is so delicious and the wait isn't too long. The crab and shrimp on the buffet is always hot and tasty and they've got a huge dessert menu, chocolate fountain and crepe station. read more

My boyfriend and I went to eat at this establishment while waiting for the rest of my sisters bridal party to show up to join us for dinner. When we got there, the lines were long, the hostess had us pay $45 when the individual price for dinner was $12.99 and when questioned about it she couldn't give us a straight answer besides stuttering, we ended up paying the $45 amount, we got seated in lobby 4 with table seating for 12, my boyfriend and I had 4 plates of food total with practically one of everything they had to offer at the buffet, we started eating and as soon as we ate the first couple bites on all the plates our stomachs started to turn and we both started feeling nauseous and dizzy, I told my boyfriend I couldn't eat anymore because I felt like I was going to vomit from all the food left under the heat lamps for longer than they should've been. My boyfriend had felt more nauseous than I did and ended up vomiting twice shortly after leaving the establishment. We had walked back up to one of the hostesses working the front counter (there were 3 hostesses total up front) and we had explained to her what happened and how we were feeling and told her that we wanted our money refunded because their food was dry, over cooked, left under the heat lamps and left out too long, and it was making us sick. She then went and got the general manager "Alice" (she happens to be an older asian woman) and we had explained to her what was wrong with our meal and we wanted a refund for 4 plates of food that my boyfriend and I didn't eat. She then asked for my ID and I asked her what she needed my ID for. She then said that she needed it to tell her boss about what happened and she couldn't issue a refund but she could give us a gift certificate. We told her that we're never coming back to this establishment and we wanted a refund issued immediately. She then looked my boyfriend and I and said "Well maybe our food just isn't YOUR kind" as she looked both of us up and down in a very rude and degrading fashion loudly in front of the 3 hostesses and 30+ customers. She took a photo copy of my ID and walked back towards my boyfriend and I saying she wanted all my information and to sign the paper of the photo copy she just took. My boyfriend took the paper out of her hand then told her that that's considered harassment and we could've just wrote our information down for her instead of taking a photo copy of my ID. She then went on to say that the cooks know what they're doing, they are very experienced, that their food is fresh and new food is put out every hour then she quickly corrected herself and said every half hour, and we then asked her when her supervisor would be in so we could speak to them about her unprofessional, disrespectful, and degrading behavior that she displayed us and she shooed us out the front door right as our bridal party was starting to show up. I will be contacting the proper channels to make sure that no one else is embarrassed and discriminated against like my boyfriend and I were treated by this establishment.
