I would be remiss if I didn't send the word out on the magic that is their cucumber gazpacho. My friend and I were so obsessed with it that we also took one to go...and had it for breakfast. That soup gets 10 stars. The food was very California - farm to table. And, we took a stroll through their vegetable garden while we waited for our food. Why not 5 stars? - We made a reservation after reading reviews that made the recommendation. The front of the house directed us to where to sit, loosely. They kind of pointed and said our server would meet us out there. Another waitress stopped us and said that area was for reservations only - very Pretty Woman judgy moment. Poor delivery. Don't let my experience deter you though. I'd still go again because of the food. Wonderful in all aspects. very friendly and nice setting. we sat outside with heaters. we started with the mussels. although they were tiny the broth and chorizo were spectacular. The flatbread was also light and tasty. a must have. no sauce was left as we sopped it all up. my entre was a berkshire pork chop. nice cut cooked perfectly with interesting sides and a spicey gravy that was a perfect complement. the chocolate mouse dessert was just ok but that did not diminish my experience. i am not a mouse person anyway. read more

Food was delicious. Service was very good. I highly recommend this place for a high-end romantic dinner or get together with friends. What exceeded expectations--I loved the unusual ingredients and the way they somehow came together so well in each dish. We had the roasted baby carrot for our starter. It was very tasty. Our only complaint was that there were only four tiny baby carrots. Did I mention they were tiny? I'm glad we ordered a second appetizer--the heirloom tomato and watermelon salad with fromage blanc sorbet. Wow. I had the wild salmon entree. It was served with basmati rice with pickled eggplant and green curry sauce and slivers of jalapeño peppers. The salmon was excellent. It was perfectly cooked. My bf had the bone marrow crusted sirloin steak. He loved it. We also had the Parmesan polenta and spinach sides. Soooo yummy. Our dessert was the signature chocolate and peanut butter bar. We had it with the sommelier-recommended port. To die for. Last thing to love was our server's spot on recommendations. They were very helpful especially since we were unfamiliar with many of the menu items. What was just ok--there was a substantial gap between the serving of our appetizer and entree. It also took a while for the port to arrive. Granted we ordered it when our dessert arrived at the table. However, the dessert had chocolate sorbet which was melting. We chose Harvest Table to celebrate our son's move to the area to work in the wine industry. I mentioned that in the reservation comments, but was pleasantly surprised at how the staff embraced it. We were greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. Bryan received a personal card welcoming him to the area, and our server David and manager Sean both took time to talk to him about his new neighborhood and the winery. Five stars is all I can give, but they were above and beyond. Food was superb, from the oysters with lemon to perfectly cooked salmon and halibut to the luxurious panna cotta. My husband did think the short rib fettuccine could have used more seasoning, but enjoyed it. Beautiful setting, great service even though they had several large special events on the patios, and a fantastic local wine list. We'll definitely return. It is pricey, but worth it. read more

Unfortunately a disappointing experience. The service was amazing but the food was a huge letdown. We got the pre fix three course meal and it was very bland and nothing to write home about. The truffle fries were served with only two aiolis and not the aioli trio that was described on the menu. There was a slight trace of truffle and very small amount of fries. The risotto which was paired with the salmon was very astringent in taste and the salmon itself was undercooked. Overall, the food was not at all worth the price. We paid about $240 for a mediocre, subpar meal. The outdoor patio was uncomfortable. A couple was sat next to us and I was able to hear every word of their conversation and they were speaking very quietly. However, I did appreciate the outdoor heaters. Other thank that, the quality of the food did not meet the price point. Save your dollar. read more

This is for two different weekend lunch / brunch experiences at harvest table. Both were great experiences with very solid service, attentiveness to food allergies, and of course, and most importantly great food. The Dungeness Crab crostini was very tasty and a standout for value - you get a very good amount of crab and also some nice avocado. The baked carrots had a nice sesame oil finish, and were quite nice. The burger, esp with avocado, blue cheese and bacon was pretty epic, and felt amazingly indulgent but worth the calorie splurge. The staff helped pair some great wines with the burger in our April visit. Hamachi crudo was very fresh and of high quality. In April and again over Father's Day weekend, the chef was nice enough to personally come out and check on our meal, which was a very nice touch. Considering this is supposed to be a Charlie Palmer restaurant we had high hopes for a great meal. First of all, we had a reservation and were seated at a small table in the middle of other tables when there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The wine list was less than adequate and in the Napa Valley, that should be considered criminal. Had the pork belly appetizer it was so small and undercooked, it wasn't worth eating. We ordered the whole truffle chicken for two. There was no indication on the menu that it came with anything else so we order a side of vegetables. Imagine our surprise when the chicken came with the same vegetables we had ordered? You would think the waitress would have mentioned it. The menu also said it takes one hour to prepare but 40 minutes later there it was and the breast portion was dry as a bone. Didn't bother with dessert. We got ice cream at the grocery store. Hate to say it, but absolutely terrible from start to finish. We had to wait 10 minutes for a parking space to free up; the dining room ambiance was a step up from an Embassy Suites breakfast room (the bar and outside were nice, but the host check-in is next to restrooms... c'mon); and it was unquestionably the loudest restaurant interior I have ever experienced (hire an acoustical expert...we literally could not hear each other across the table). The service was also shotty with dinner being served halfway through the apps, we had to pick up our small plates for them to serve the entres, and after they left we moved the plates around to the correct person. Unfortunately, the food was not any better with bland lobster Mac n cheese, an undercooked pork chop, and uninspired artichoke heart salad. Bummer really because the place was not cheap. And to the 6 that became 8 next to us, read the room...it's loud, really loud, and your 'experience' does not have to everyone else's. We had a delicious meal here on the outdoor terrace on our anniversary weekend. This was a completely different experience than our dinner the night before at the French Laundry, but the perfect follow up to it. We were married at Harvest Inn 26 years ago and heard they had a restaurant now and were excited to try it because we have loved this place for many years. Unfortunately, Anniversary dinner was one of the worst experiences and will never go back. Don't expect the menu selection you see online. Not even close. Decided on the risotto-had to send it back. Rather than creamy as it should be, rice was not even cooked, nor were veges. Hubs chicken was good but shell beans were also under cooked and extremely salty. I recently had a very disappointing visit here. Given the pedigree of the chef and the location, my expectations were high and the definitely were not met. I'll start with the wine and beer list. For beer, I found the list pretty thin and narrow and a review of the wine list was the most shocking. I think that the expectation for a restaurant that is basically selling you wine that you just tasted a mile away would have more reasonable prices but charging over $300 a bottle for a 2011 Silver Oak Cabernet that I just tasted and could have bought for $100 is unconscionable. The entire menu is filled with good but amazingly overpriced wine choices that really took away from the enjoyment of the meal. I come to Napa to enjoy good food and good wine but I don't want to have to take out a second mortgage to afford that. Ok, well I could have accepted the overpriced wine list if the food was really amazing but I found the menu to be uninspiring and unimaginative. It felt like I was having the same old menu from the same old restaurants, almost as if this was a chain restaurant or a version of a California restaurant that you would see in Vegas or at EuroDisney. Also, I would have overlooked the unimaginative menu if the execution of it was exemplary - if the flavours really popped or if the portions were generous but sadly, no. I did order the burger as I had expectations that I would get a delicious, thick, gourmet-style burger but instead I got two thin patties swamped with cheese. The issue with this is when you get a thick burger and order it done medium, you get a wonderful umami flavour on the outside and all of the juicy burger on the inside. When you get two thin patties stacked on one another you get umami, cold raw meat, umami, cold raw meat and it was totally unappetizing. If I wanted steak tartar, I would have ordered steak tartar but I wanted a gourmet burger. So the conclusion of this is I would pass on this restaurant and try something else in the area that would be either better value or would deliver a greater experience. read more

Amazing food and a staff that truly goes beyond. We had a great time and hope to be back again. After booking a stay at the Harvest Inn for May 2021, my wife's doctor put her on a special diet while pregnant. We hate to deviate from a prix fixe, but when we asked the restaurant if they could substitute a simpler version of the first course, they were so gracious and happy to do so. They even went above and beyond by coming up with a dessert for her that met the diet requirements. They must have done their own research. We were blown away by the hospitality and the quality of the food. read more

So I do not understand the bad reviews of this place at all. Do not let them turn you off. The more I use yelp the more I wonder sometimes what people are thinking, especially when you read these one and two star reviews of places that everyone else is giving four and five stars to. Very lovely atmosphere and great service. Food was good, although we liked some things better than others. Garlic truffle fries were to die for. Strawberry Bibb salad was fresh but not bursting with flavor. Burger was extremely juicy and filling and had some great flavor. The bread with whipped butter and chimichurri was great but it did fill us up before we started eating. Pot de crème was tasty (I couldn't really taste the espresso in it) and incredibly rich and decadent. The cute little chocolate cup it comes in is a nice touch. Super friendly service. But it's really the atmosphere that we loved. Sat outside on the back patio on a beautiful evening. Then walked around the grounds and along the vineyards in the back. We had a lovely dinner Friday night at Harvest Table. Service couldn't have been more attentive (without being intrusive). Some of the highlights for us - a fresh garden salad. The garden being just a few feet away from the restaurant - you won't find better greens. We also loved loved loved the chilled honeydew melon soup. I enjoyed my salmon (and couldn't finish it - the portions are big here) and my dining companions enjoyed pork belly and duck for their mains. Sitting outside is really pleasant here, definitely recommended if you can do that. Overall the atmo is just really pleasant - not stuffy but still feels like a special place. Hands down the best brunch experience our family has had! The ambiance is a fusion between modern and rustic chic and they have an adorable outdoor patio. The service was on point (I refuse to say on fleek). We had such a passionate and entertaining waiter who really elevated the experience even more. The food was delectable and stirred severe anticipation in each one of us as the next item came out. Each item was just that unique, fresh and well prepared. And the cocktails were simply incomparable in a completely idiosyncratic way. Highlights: 1. Goat cheese fondue 2. Fried oyster 3. Scallop crudo 4. Smoked salmon toast 5. Shrimp and grits 6. Grilled flat iron steak on french toast 7. Maple syrup candy Belgium waffle 8. Crispy suckling pig hash 9. Our waiter also did a phenomenal job of walking us through exactly what the creative vision for each dish was. All in all, the parents, sister and fiance loved this spot so much that we're definitely planning to come back for dinner the next time we're in town. I came here on a Saturday night. I was surprised that there were still tables, but the restaurant is a whole isn't small. We got here a tad early so we sat on the lounge for a bit. While we waited, the bartender noticed us right away and offered us to a drink, which was nice. Our table was ready at the time that I reserved it for, and we were promptly seated. The waitress came and attended to us very quickly, and took our drink orders while we looked over the menu. The only thing that was confusing about the menu was that there was snacks, appetizers, and entrees. Snacks are very small portion food, like 2 bites, literally, so be prepared, and it's price accordingly. We order shrimp and grits with cheese and the calamari thing and both came relatively quickly and was quite delicious. However, the time between the first and second course seemed a tad long. I was looking at my watch and it was about 30 min. after we had the first course that they served us our entrees, which just seems a bit slow. The restaurant was full and I'm sure the kitchen was a tad backed up, but people have complaint about the wait, and this was evident. Entrees came and they were delicious. We had the Gnocchi and the Squab, which were both very tasty, the bird was cooked perfectly and the Gnocchi was done to perfection in terms of how it was made to how long it was cooked for. The dessert, which we had the chocolate and peanut butter bar with Chocolate Sorbet, was a perfect sweet and bitter contrast. Raymond Vineyards recommended this restaurant for a quick bite to eat before heading on to our next appointment. They called ahead to tell them we were coming and I'm so glad they did! It ended up taking us longer to leave Raymond than expected but when we arrived they were waiting for us. We were told to ask for Adam and he was at the door when we arrived, held the door for us, and sat us at a long table. Little did we know the restaurant was actually closed when we got there but they had kept it open for us because they knew we were coming! They even had a little appetizer menu all prepared for us and ready to serve when we got there. The food was amazing! It didn't seem that anything we ate was on the menu but it was all excellent: polenta fries with a cheesy dipping sauce, arugula and pear salad, scallop sushi, and an heirloom tomato salad of some sort. One of the most satisfying dinner experience was delivered by the wonderful restaurant team at the Harvest Table. My girlfriend and I were excited enjoy our first visit this new establishment with our friends living in St Helena on a cool Tuesday night, they are one of Napa Valley Restaurant Week's participants. The entire party checked in 15 min after our reservation, the hostess greeted us delightfully anyway. We were quickly situated and attended by our waitress to entice us with the evening's offerings. And this is how the wonderful dinner unfolds as we dive-in on the bowl of toasty bread. We started with the Scallop Crudo($16) on top of our 3-course prix fixe ($36/person). Fresh, thinly sliced, enough to share among the party as an amuse bouche; the streak of hot sauce further enhanced the scallops sweetness. The service was on pointe, the Steamed Mussels, served with a generous slice of bread dressed with creamy garlic aioli and my Fennel & Blood Orange Salad arrived in no time at all. Decent portion, fresh, clean, and pure, the flavor of the ocean was highlighted by the studs of red bell pepper and garlic. My salad does pale next to the seafood dish, it lacked balance, the peppery arugula dominated the salad. Mussel wins. The heavy weight, literally, is the generous and absolutely decadent slice of Porchetta perfumed with garlic served with sides of Swiss Chard and Rutabaga Puree. It is incredibly tender, a all-meat-lasagna build on perfectly proportioned fat and protein became the talk of the night. The Butternut Squash Ravioli was a very tasty highlight of the winter-inspired produce, rich and fluffy, beautifully textured. Porchetta wins. While I was able to pick favorites between the two 1st and 2nd courses, I loved both desserts equally. The Mandarin Cream over Vanilla Sponge Cake was a simple yet flavorful delight: rich with just the right sweetness and the elegant acidity of the citrus somehow cleansed my carnivorous-palate. The Grasshopper charmed the table with the same magic, wonderfully presented. The creamy chocolate cream teamed up with the bright and enlightening mint ice-cream is a very challenging dessert for wine-pairing; the sommelier went the extra mile and over delivered the perfect ending with a glass of white-port. Bonus: free-corkage for the 1st bottle of Napa Valley Wine and we probably will never pass-up on. We are already looking for another date to revisit this new-star restaurant of Napa Valley, the waitrons are very friendly and attentive; the foods are elegantly presented and delivered fireworks of flavors; the restaurant is clean, nicely-lid, and tastefully curated like the food. Great find! We were staying nearby and wanted to try something new. The decor was modern yet comfy. Definitely what you would hope to find in a new, hip, high-end restaurant. The drinks were beyond phenomenal. I would give them six stars on a five star scale. While they don't have their liquor license yet, they made great cocktails with Madera, Sparkling Wine, Port, ect. We can't wait to come back and try to cocktails once they are able to serve hard alcohol! We also had the pleasure of meeting Joel who was the creative mind behind the cocktail menu. The food was really good as well. The snacks were delicious and creative. The appetizers were also pretty good however they were fairly large portions. As other reviewers have said, the shrimp and grits were really good, but again, portion was a bit large. The salads were extremely fresh; highly recommend any of them. Harvest Table was nice, but not wow. Our entire group (my husband and I are local, and 2 friends from Southern CA love food and wine) thought the experience was uneven. First the food; we ordered everything for the table so we could all taste as much as possible. There were some standout dishes - the shrimp and grits were wonderful! The truffle roast chicken was great too! The roasted carrots were wonderful, but we ordered to share and you get 5 tiny carrots; I think our server should have pointed this out because we all felt a bit cheated to get one bite. Then there were some dishes that sounded wonderful but lacked flavor. We all thought the goat cheese fondue was a real disappointment. And so was the watermelon and tomato salad. The watermelon was watery and tasteless and nothing else on the plate made up for it. The other dishes were forgettable because I've forgotten what else we had. The servers truly tried, but they need more training. Just one example is the wine service; we brought a special and rare champagne for the first course and the server poured the entire bottle. So our glasses were much too full and the champagne got warm before we could drink it. Even a novice server should know to pour lightly and put the champagne in an ice bucket to keep it chilled on a warm night. We sat outside on the patio on a warm summer evening and the atmosphere was wonderful. We recommend the patio if you can get it. All in all, good experience. But the two evenings after Harvest Table we went to Sol Bar and Cook and after those experiences we will be returning to those restaurants. read more
