It's quite a hidden gem along this stretch of St. Helena. Unless you're staying here for some R&R (Harvest Inn), you won't really know about this magical place in wine country. You better download the Yelp app ahem! They offer lovely patio dining, or on a hot Summer's day, I choose to dine in. I can't take the heat when it's over 60's and away from the fog & ocean. Service is always on point, and the food is remarkable, the ambiance is charming, and there's no corkage fee on the first bottle of wine, not even a Magnum! Although, it has to be Napa Valley wines of course. Talk about stellar hospitality ~ score! Needless to say, I brought my Delectus Magnum to share with my drama-free gal pals. Did you watch the movie "Wine Country", well it should've been about us...we're funnier LOL! Highly recommend Harvest Table for brunch, and get the Eggs Benedict. The pork belly dish is seasonal. What an amazing experience!! Beautiful setting at the Harvest Inn, gardens are glorious and welcoming. Made a reservation met by the GM Marcin, seated outside on the patio fans or heat lamps as needed, comfortable chairs. Ordered two salads strawberry bib and Burrata with grilled grapes. Both very good and tasty. Split the Roasted chicken, beautifully prepared veggies cooked perfect and the sauce was amazing had truffle mashed potatoes fantastic!! Had dinner here last night, power outage day in California and basically two restaurants open in St Helena. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Limited menu but they had food, warm food, delicious food, ice. You had me at ice. Complimentary bubbles when we got there. Collin was very friendly and accommodating. We had the soup of the day which was sweet onion, fennel and kale, really good. I had the HTBLT which was on really delicious thick and crusty sourdough with a home made rosemary mayo, really fresh tomato, butter lettuce and applewood bacon. While it was a bit messy and hard to eat it was one of the best blt's I've had. The wife had the New York strip and she seemed to enjoy it. We had a bottle of the Chenin Blanc which was really good, yes we stayed at the property Oh and we ate on the patio with the dog. It is a rarity that we are in wine country for dinner but when we decided to come up at the last minute for something other than the sole purpose of wine tasting and with it being light out longer after the time change, we took advantage to finally try Charlie Palmer's Harvest Table. Located right in the Harvest Inn, before your taste buds are tantalized, your other senses are already in for a treat. From the sight of the vineyards to the smell of the trees and the sound of the relaxing water fountains throughout the meandering path under towering redwoods just in the short walk from the parking in the back and then back to the creative vision of large origami cranes and animals at the entrance of the inn right before walking in. With many ingredients sourced directly from their own culinary gardens, the menu changes often to reflect this. Instead of appetizers, we decided to split a Harvest Table Burger which was the best decision we made. Cooked to order, our medium burger with caramelized onions and fontina was juicy, flavorful, and worth every penny of that $18. For entrees, we went with the Berkshire Pork Chop and the California White Sea Bass. The pork chop was perfectly cooked and showcases their culinary creativity of pairing an everything crumble to enhance the savoriness while the preserved fruit and maple adds a touch of sweetness to each bite. The white sea bass was moist and tender served in a delicate thai broth with winter vegetables and a dash of citrus oil allowing its natural flavors to shine through. Most places are not memorable, but Harvest Table is an exception. It is a very nice American restaurant where they have a prix-fixe menu and you can relax with friends for hours. Parking was easy. They have a big lot in front of the hotel and clear signage so no worries about paying valet. A reservation is recommended because it's pretty popular and upscale. When you get in, everything feels nice and modern. The food is predetermined, which might sound like a bad thing, but it's good for people who can't decide I guess. I was a little bummed about not having any choice but it turned out to be alright. We were a part of four so they had two dishes for each side. It was generously portioned and I genuinely enjoyed the vegetables and the farm to table concept. I didn't really taste a noticeable difference but I did end up enjoying the vegetarian dishes more than the fish or meat. I think the best part was that it's the type of restaurant where you can stay for hours. They bring out the courses slowly and you can really take your time to finish the dishes. It's a good place for talking and the ambiance wasn't too loud. We ended up staying there for two and a half hours. Overall, I really enjoyed the dining experience. We were seated outside but the weather was excellent and not too hot or cold in the evening. I would say it's a great place to go on a date or eat with friends. read more

We had a wonderful time. We had an early reservation, and a lovely table was reserved for us. We were catered to, and the view was beautiful. The mixed cocktails were divine, and had a decent wine selection. Our knock is none of the entrees stand out. Not much thought and attention were put into each plate, and there was even a little flop on one of our main dishes. The short ribs were overdone and very salty. The presentation was lacking. There are many places with more elevated cuisine and attention to each plate served, but if you're in the area and want an easy spot to get a reservation and table with a view, they have them. We should have known when we walked into an empty restaurant at peak dinnertime that this wouldn't be our favorite meal. I'll start with the pros: Alex, our waiter, was kind and attentive. He had a cheerful attitude that was very welcoming. Other than that our drinks and meal were highly disappointing. The cocktails were way too sweet, the green salad was just butter lettuce and dressing (nothing else on top), duck shepards pie was oily and lacked flavor, and worst of all the New York steak was smothered in a raunchy sauce (it seemed like 3 day old Bordelaise). We ate on the patio and flies were actually circling the dish. Also, the menu made no mention of a sauce. I would not recommend this place. read more

Service - it was incredibly poor starting with having to wait for the host to set us as he was waiting tables. Our waiter seemed overwhelmed and brought out the starters and left without taking our dinner order. While we were dining and the last group on the patio they shut off the heaters. Food - the cheese and charcuterie plate was underwhelming for the price. The garden salad was bland and the burrata grape salad was more of an app than a salad. The burrata wasn't the best and too much for one person to eat. The entrees were all good as were the sides. Dessert was also a disappointment. **Breakfast** Was pretty typical in terms of what they offer (eggs, bacon, waffles, fruits, cereal, etc...) but the bacon is nice thick and crispy so it's a perfect breakfast to me. **Dinner** Ordered the cauliflower, asparagus, wings, fish and sorbet. The Harvest Inn hotel is excellent, but its Harvest Table restaurant is not. Service and ambiance were excellent, but the food was disappointing. Perhaps that explains why we were the only people eating dinner from 5:30 to 6:30. My wife ordered chicken schnitzel, but it was so overcooked that it tasted more like chicken shitzel. My halibut was very good. We shared a caesar salad that was good but ordinary. At these high prices one would expect the main dishes to include a side order vegetable, particularly given the restaurant's name. There was a choice of five sides, three of which we can't eat, and the other two of which we don't like. We might someday return to the Harvest Inn, but never again to the Harvest Table. read more

Let's start with the positives: - ambiance was nice: we were on the patio, which is covered, heated well and comfortable even in cold nights; - service was fine: nothing to write home about, but adequate. The big problem was the food: cheap ingredients, overcooked to the extreme, flavorless and priced like a fancy Napa restaurant. We had mushroom bruschetta, butternut soup, peppercorn steak and salmon over risotto (no wine): - the bruschetta was both burnt and mushy; - the soup was slightly acidic and without salt; - the salmon was the worst: both the fish and the rice looked boiled to a pulp. All was textureless, flavorless and close to inedible; - the steak was tough and had a strange color (looked like 2-day-old leftovers): it was bad, but not as bad as the salmon. We explained the above to the manager, who thanked us for the feedback. We were charged $115, which is what other good Napa Valley restaurants charge for an excellent dinner (without wine). Unfortunately the quality of the food here was so low that it made the experience unacceptable. Look elsewhere. read more

We were not that hungry as we had lunch at Auberge around 2 pm so we ordered the following: Soup of the day - tomato bisque Pigs ears salad Hamachi crudo Grilled Octopus French Fries Smoked trout Shishito Peppers Everything was delish! I like the pigs ears salad the best and the Hamachi crudo. The French fries was pretty tasty too as it had a salt and vinegar batter around it. Flavors were on point and price was just right. For me this was a solid four star evening. The wait staff was friendly and somewhat knowledgeable about the food. I had a few complaints about the service though - dishes set down without any explanation of what I'm about to eat. At these prices I want to know! And dirty dishes left lingering in front of us for a while as wait staff walks back and forth in a relatively empty restaurant. The food was good and great depending on the dish. A mushroom appetizer with a mushroom mousse was outstanding - though we had to flag down a waiter for the explanation. A salad with walnuts and blue cheese had three half walnuts and three tiny crumbles of cheese. Kind of pathetic. We had a pork chop entree - outstanding. And chicken wings - good sauce; some fingerling potatoes that were perfect and chard (too much garlic) and some broccoli that had way way too much aioli on the plate making it greasy rather than yummy. Delicious beignet for dessert. Crispy and hot and super tasty. And excellent coffee. Of course good wine list. This place is on the Michelin table list but needs to work on service and ratio of ingredients if they want a star. read more

Lovely outdoor seating surrounded by magnificent redwood trees. Came here for brunch this past weekend. Harvest breakfast was average, nothing too exciting. I mean, how exciting can eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and toast be? It was lackluster that I didn't realize they had forgotten to serve my grapefruit juice until we were out of there. The highlight of my plate was a bowl of fruits. But both my friends really enjoyed their picks. One had confit chicken & waffles and the other, smoked salmon latke. We tend to prefer a Californian style-- grilled rather than fried, less salt, less sweet. So fried Broccolini, and honey-sweetened carrots surprised me. A lady named Anna, was complaining about how we didn't pay for our food, and all the food we received was free when clearly we had paid the whole amount. We and the server had the receipt to show it, I don't know if it was by the way we looked or because we weren't speaking English but I didn't feel welcomed. Wine- we brought 5 bottles with us, $20. corkage fee and the server waived the first bottle! Off to a good start. Appetizers- try the chicken wings in Asian bbq sauce, beef tartar, mushrooms, and beets. We ordered two of each, just that could've been my dinner. Entrees- risotto, rib eye steak, halibut, pork chop, and a green goddess salad plus sides of asparagus were ordered. Everything was cooked properly and to perfection! Beautiful location located inside Harvest Inn in St. Helena, Napa. You won't find a more idyllic place than this - small patio overlooking the vineyards, private stone houses for the residents, a winding path through their gardens and houses with small sculptures and fountains. This is a gorgeous place to end your day wine tasting around Napa! One starred Michelin, but super reasonable prices and the atmosphere and service is well worth. I tried the papperdelle, which was one of vegetarian recommendations by the waiter and the hand-made pasta and sauce was one of the best I have ever had! But what really blew my whole group away was the chocolate cake. It is a must try, even if you are stuffed (which we definitely were). The cake is super light, fluffy, and soft, yet so chocolately and moist. The perfect texture to pull off! Paired with caramel, vanilla ice cream, and light cream. Definitely stop by here if you are around Napa. read more

My favorite spot in Napa never fails to impress! We had the set seasonal menu on Friday in their outdoor terrace and wow! Every dish was superb. Loved the smoked tomato soup. Steaks and salmon were delicate and flavorful. At $60 it was extremely good value and the portions were so generous that we could not finish everything. We will be back. Disappointing experience, especially given the strong reviews. This is a fairly small restaurant located in the lobby of a hotel. The restaurant and hotel lobby are connected with only a partial sort of barrier between them. The restaurant area itself is fairly small, but it does not feel intimate in this larger space. The tables were oddly spaced during my visit, and mostly empty so that it felt uninviting. The food itself was meh. We had a burrata and roasted grape appetizer, which I would rate a 3/5. The wine sauce on it was the best part, but the grapes were cold whereas I was expecting something warm since they are roasted. I guess they were roasted last week! My gnocchi appetizer was terribly disappointing - 1/5. The gnocchi itself was okay, but the sunchokes and sauce was bitter. My dining companion had the wild boar ragu, which was also not terribly good, maybe a 2/5. The bourbon bread pudding was the best part, but there was ZERO bourbon flavor - 4/5. The service was pretty uninspired. I know this is a strange thing to say, but the food came out almost too fast so that it didn't seem freshly prepared. This seems like a lovely hotel, and I can only assume that we went on an off night. But I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. It's quite expensive for mediocre food. read more

Creative cooking. Emphasis on locally grown ingredients. July 2015 menu has 35 selections classed into 3 groups: Snacks, Starters, Meals. The size of the portion increases with each class. Variety is impressive. You can choose from light vegetarian options with sparkling fresh flavors to heavy hitters like shrimp & grits or a flat iron steak. I dined for 3 hours in a group of 15 partiers. We ate just about everything on the menu. We shared bites. Even the gluten-free eaters had plenty of food choices. Highlights: house made baked goods, the croissants were some of the best outside of France. The calamari salad was sprightly fresh and tangy. The mash potato croquettes were pillows from heaven. Folks who chose the salmon said it was overcooked by a minute or two. Similarly, my flat iron steak ordered medium rare was closer to well done, tasty but a bit dry. Desserts are so satisfying but never too sweet. House made ice creams had some delicious savory flavors. You can order a "triangle" with 6 smalls scoops of various flavors. Service folks are perfect in timing, attitude and menu knowledge. The dining room is homey yet upscale. Prices are remarkably reasonable for the quality, quantity and neighborhood. You'll spend 85% less here than at the French Laundry, even of you drink the highest priced wines. Highly recommended. read more

My husband booked my birthday dinner here, and it was a very disappointing experience. I really thought the food here was supposed to be top notch so I'm curious if they have a new chef?? They had a fixed menu the night we went. Things started off poor when they gave us a "temporary" table while they got us a better table, but they then forgot to give us the better table. We did remind them so we did get moved to the new table before our first starter came. The place was empty so it was odd. All in all our server was nice so my issue with this place centers primarily around the quality of the food. Salad - barely any dressing and huge chunks of lettuce that were difficult to eat. The dressing that was there just tasted like sugar - needed some vinegar or some form of bite. Mains (Tuna, Chicken, Veg)- I told our server that I can't eat raw fish, but he assured us the seared tuna was fully cooked. I thought that was strange given tuna is usually served raw but went with his direction. When it arrived, it was visibly raw lol. I asked the server again once we had the food if he was sure this was cooked, and again he said yes. My husband ate it, but I could not. Chicken - arrived cold so we sent it back. It came back the second time hot, but I really disliked the flavor of this one. I can't place what the strange taste was, but I was not a fan. Dessert - something with peach and then a ginger cookie. The peaches were really mushy so the texture was very off putting. The cookie was good. This place is beyond whimsical in architecture and design, you feel as if though you are in a magical fairly land with Snow White and her crew. The fireplace is always burning and gardens are beautiful, lined with pine trees and outdoor art. The food is impeccable in every way. Taste bursts with every bite and every note of every drink is a symphony. We had a little of everything (almost) on the menu and it was well worth it. The staff and chefs are great, menus change often and only make it better to keep coming back. This last time we tried several items, the calamari risotto was perfect and refreshing. The pastries plate was fresh and sweet. (Love the pop tart and corn bread) The seafood was delectable and perfectly put together. Can't wait to come back in a few weeks. It's been a while since we have been here, and my, my it has changed. The chef is new, Spencer Wolf. First all - heads up on the corkage charge, $35 per bottle, waived if it is Napa wine. Only ones higher I know of is at TFL and Meadowood, Delicious soup (potato/leek), garden salads, and mushroom rissoto. Main of scallops perfectly done. They no longer have the beef for 2, it's now Mary's roast chicken for 2 at $65. It says on the menu it takes one hour preparation, so we were willing to be patient. Our excellent waiter came out and said it would be ready to serve in 15 minutes. It wasn't great. The breast meat was dry, and the entire bird had this "butter and truffle sauce" squirted on it. We could not find a trace of truffles. Easily could feed 4. I wonder about how long it had been cooked waiting for someone to order it. All in all, we liked the previous menu better. read more

My husband and I have had the Harvest Table on our list of restaurants to check out in Napa for a while now. We finally decided to pop in this past Sunday for their happy hour which has a very nice food menu at great prices. We love it when we can get a good, sit down meal in Napa without breaking the bank! We arrived around 4:30pm, and grabbed two seats at the bar. We were able to quickly order some appetizers - the chips and caramelized onion dip which was about half priced on HH plus 6 oysters that were on $1/oyster special for HH. The caramelized onion dip was awesome! I'm a huge onion dip fan so I was really excited to see this on the menu. The dip itself was very flavorful and the chips were thick and crunchy. My husband also greatly enjoyed his oysters and the rest of my dip. We both ordered the hamburger for our main course - also half price during HH! The flavor of the burgers was good, but mine was over cooked. The really highlight was the side of fries which had a light coating of malt vinegar. So delicious! My husband also tried the Louis Martini Cabernet that they had on tap - very good for the price. I enjoyed a root beer that was also quite tasty. The bar is also dog friendly! That was super cool to see. It's in the lobby of the Harvest Inn so furry friends can sit with you inside. Will definitely come back as we plan to stay at the hotel on our next trip to Napa. read more
