With that in mind, we anticipated a wait but expected the restaurant to be prepared accordingly. That assumption was incorrect. When we arrived, there were several tables on the patio and throughout the building spread with dirty dishes and in need of cleaning - they were in dire need of a busboy. The hostess was very kind and working extremely hard to get people seated, she cleared a table for us near the front bar area and we were seated within probably 10 minutes of arrival which was not bad. From there however, we sat for at least 15-20 more minutes at our table and were never greeted by any server or even offered water. We eventually decided to leave as it was clear that we wouldn't be receiving any service anytime soon. I do not fault the wait staff in this, they were obviously very overwhelmed and understaffed, but it is disappointing that management did not better prepare for what should have been expected to be a busy weekend. Allowing reservations during a highly anticipated weekend only makes sense, even if only a limited number of reservations so that walk-ins can still be accepted. We were really looking forward to trying this spot out and were disappointed by our experience.

From the delay taking the order, having to flag a server down for drink refills and even to get the check. It was not busy enough to cause the service we received. We had been before with my daughter and wife and had a much better experience. So I am not sure if things have gone downhill or just an anomaly. The burger I had on the previous visit was very good and the Rosey Chips (house made potato chips) were pretty good too. My daughter is a big fan of their fried pickles appetizer. Will. Give them another shot, yes but there are plenty of other options we will likely go to first.

IT WAS AMAZING! 1: Fried Mushrooms... the serving was massive and they were fantastic. Definitely worth the cost. 2: Broccoli Bites... SIMPLY GREAT 3: Salads: just the right size and very tasty dressing 4: Blackened Catfish with Jalapeño Grits and Spinach... A definite must try! The spinach was the only thing he nor I cared for. Think it was just one of the seasoning on it that wasn't agreeing with us. 5: Cajun Creole Pasta with Shrimp and Crawfish tails... This was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Only complaint at all is that the pasta was just a tad bit overdone and that's a very small complaint, because it was so tasty. At first when I saw pictures of the place, I was worried it would be somewhere that I would feel out of place, due to being extremely down to earth and simple. It is somewhere though, that you can go in your nicest dress and a suit or in jeans, t-shirts and boots (which was exactly what we wore). I WAS TRULY IMPRESSED WITH THE PRICES, AS WELL! I don't normally write reviews, but I felt inclined to write one about Harvey's just to share how PHENOMENAL my experience here was! My friend and I wanted a place to get some good cocktails and a nice steak, and we decided to give Harvey's a try. We were promptly greeted with a big smile from the hostess who told us we were welcome to choose a booth in the lounge area. Our server, Abby, greeted us within a minute and we just immediately felt welcome and comfortable thanks to her. I like scotch, and my friend enjoys sweet fruity drinks, so Abby suggested Macallan (DELICIOUS) and a Maroon and White martini for my friend! I'm telling y'all this place has the best bartenders. Our drinks were out within minutes, and we got the pimento crawfish dip appetizer which was divine. Abby helped us navigate the menu and specials, and we decided on the marinated ribeye and delta chicken thanks to her help. The food came out quick and hot and Abby was right, the marinated ribeye really is the best steak in town. We wanted dessert and/or more drinks, so Abby told us we should try a Kahlua chocolate freeze (like a grown up chocolate shake) and it was delicious. I've given Harvey's a solid chance- ate there 3 times in the last 2 years. Each visit the food was subpar and the service slow. On my most recent visit, I ordered the tomato pie and it was terrible- almost no tomatoes, dry, tasteless, and looked like it had been sitting out for a while. It came with a salad that was only consisted of arugula, boiled pieces of sweet potato, and a ball of goat cheese on top. The ingredients were of mediocre quality, and the whole meal was just awful- I wish I had sent it back. Prior visits have been similar (I remember my friend's steak was waaay overcooked another night I was there). The service is really slow. On this recent visit we waited 35 minutes between ordering and receiving our food, which is way too long for lunch in my opinion (especially when the food is terrible!) We sensed a lot of tension between the manager and the waitstaff. There are far better options in Starkville. read more

This was my first time to Harvey's and I felt welcomed as soon as I walked through the door because the host opened the door for me. Once I was seated in one of the most beautiful dining rooms our server David came over and asked us for or drink orders since it was our first time he suggested a AMAZING emerald margarita and my husband got a really nice craft beer that he now orders online to our house. David was such a great waiter and I will definitely be back when he is there. He was so personable and I feel like I've known him my whole life. He told me that Harvey's was his first serving job. First time to Harvey's, won't be our last! First of all, our waitress Ashley was phenomenal. (Management- I hope you appreciate her, she really was great). Black Dahlia cocktail was soooo good. My husband really enjoyed being able to create his own wine flight. We started with the chicken noodle soup (not something I'd normally do, but a friend told me to try it) It was really tasty- it's creamy and heavy, but I'd definitely get it again. We didn't want steak so I had the blackened catfish with grits and Cajun sauce added- really enjoyed it. My husband had the delta chicken- we don't order chicken in restaurants often, but it was great! Would definitely order it again. I can't say enough good things about Harvey's. The staff, the menu, the food, the drinks, the atmosphere, the service, the hospitality are all top notch. Unique menu options cooked to perfection, hand crafted drinks and a phenomenal wine selection, calm and inviting atmosphere, and a staff of individuals who actually want to be there. If you leave this restaurant unhappy for any reason it is 110% your fault for not asking to speak with someone, any wrongs will always be made right. Personal recommendations are broccoli bites, house cocktail lemon drop, and the marinated ribeye. Obviously graduation had Harvey's packed full to the brim for our and other family's dinners, but Harvey's still delivered beyond our expectation despite having their plates full. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits that came out phenomenal. As a fan of high quality wines I found the reserve wine list to be highly expansive and intriguing. Great service, great food and nice atmosphere. It is obvious that Harvey's has stepped up its game this year. Tonight our experience was better because of our server, Taylor. Helpful, knowledgeable and very informative. Just delightful to have her as part of our evening. We will definitely return more often. Something about Harvey's makes me feel like I'm on a night out in Paris. It was full of fun, laughs, and great service from the Harvey's family! They never fail to amaze me with their wonderful wines and great variety of foods. Though their wait time was a little long, it was all worth it in the end! Before ordering, I specifically asked the waitress about the beverage options and how I wanted my steak cooked. However, when my food and drink arrived, neither matched my requests. I had a fantastic experience at Harvey's last Thursday night! A group of about 10 of us came in for a nice dinner to celebrate the end of the semester for a class of ours. Our waiter, Timothy, was absolutely incredible. He was nice, friendly, and super helpful when it came to ordering the best items on the menu. The broccoli bites are to die for. I recommend the filet mignon with the "egtable kabob". Great marketing strategy (coming from a PR major) and an even better meal. I live in Tuscaloosa, AL and have MISSED Harvey's since it closed several years ago. It was mine and my husband's favorite place to eat. The cheese sticks and stuffed mushrooms were the best and we haven't found anything remotely CLOSE to be as tasty. I would like to thank Harvey's for being open during the COVID-19 pandemic. The take out has Ben delicious. I have enjoyed there Monday-Friday special especially the Fish & Chips!! Very good, though the sweet potato flavor was subtler than expected. My husband's burger, on the other hand, was a full‑on showstopper. The bacon jam and pimento cheese turned it into a glorious, oozy mess. Fries got high marks too. We grabbed a slice of carrot cake to go -- dense, moist, studded with toasted pecans -- and it was the perfect ending.

We visited Restaurant Tyler over the Mississippi State vs Missouri game day weekend on a Friday night around 7pm. We tried several times to make a reservation online, even days before, and finally called to reserve a spot over the phone, but we were told they do not make reservations on game day weekends. With that in mind, we anticipated a wait but expected the restaurant to be prepared accordingly. That assumption was incorrect. When we arrived, there were several tables on the patio and throughout the building spread with dirty dishes and in need of cleaning - they were in dire need of a busboy. The hostess was very kind and working extremely hard to get people seated, she cleared a table for us near the front bar area and we were seated within probably 10 minutes of arrival which was not bad. From there however, we sat for at least 15-20 more minutes at our table and were never greeted by any server or even offered water. We eventually decided to leave as it was clear that we wouldn't be receiving any service anytime soon. I do not fault the wait staff in this, they were obviously very overwhelmed and understaffed, but it is disappointing that management did not better prepare for what should have been expected to be a busy weekend. Allowing reservations during a highly anticipated weekend only makes sense, even if only a limited number of reservations so that walk-ins can still be accepted. We were really looking forward to trying this spot out and were disappointed by our experience.

A gentleman sat down to my left after I had already been there for quite a while. I watched him order a cocktail, order his food, eat his entire meal, and still hadn't been asked if I wanted anything to eat. I'm not one to complain, but that level of inattentiveness was hard to overlook. I'll definitely continue to give Huck's a chance because I enjoy the food and most of the staff, but I hope the bar service was just an off night.
