Harvey's? More like Starvey's. Went on a Monday night in February, sat down and waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged. When the waitress/bartender finally did acknowledge us (the same middle age blonde woman others have written about here), she was quick to tell us we couldn't order food with our drinks because "she had other people who needed her first". After coming back to take our order ten minutes later, we sat for an hour and a half watching everyone else who ordered after us get served, eat, pay, and leave. At this point, we'd been told twice our order would only be "two more minutes" and that "it was coming right up". Finally after TWO HOURS of waiting for burgers or a drink refill, we walked out. As soon as we did, said blonde waitress rushed out behind us, tried to flag us down, and then gave us the finger and went back inside. I don't know if she forgot to put our order in or what, but to flip US off after waiting for two hours because of HER rubbed me the wrong way. It's a shame, because I've heard their food is great, but as long as she's there I have no desire to go back and wait another two hours to find out. read more

Really enjoyed our evening here, it had been a few years since the last visit. Casual as hell, very good vibe enhanced with pretty friendly staff members. A few cocktails and a couple burgers that were, as usual, very good. Nobody in a rush, waitress was busy but checked us every 10 minutes or so - that in itself is a positive. Service is slow and today it was rude. Waiting 15 minutes to get initial service. Waitress could use a class on service etiquette. Usually service is slow, but the food is always great for the burgers. Wife said that she would not ever go back. We have been to Harvey's for years. Management needs to do some training on how to treat customers. Until then we are out. read more

I've enjoyed this dive for years as a decent place to grab a beer and burger. Tonight will be my last visit. You expect some noise and a jukebox is great. But not when the "music" is abysmal and so loud it's impossible to talk. Or think. Then there's the crowd. No one would ever confuse this place for the 4 Seasons Grill, but riotous drunks shrieking to burst an eardrum ... no. Then the food. The fries and onion rings were pretty good as usual, but the burgers just didn't taste good. They had probably been frozen and lost some freshness, but on top of that the meat just didn't taste right and left a taste of nasty grease. And the help. Two guys were accommodating, but a younger blonde woman who seemed intent on showing her bust was clearly unpleasant and put out when we asked to change tables. D-I-V-E !! Bar. Totally dive bar. Hasn't been renovated since it was opened looks to be in the primitive age. lol. It's like a Waffle House but just burgers and probably the best and best priced for your buck burger. We cannot west to come back with friends and grab a couple drinks and share more burgers. The melt was off the hook good. The original wine double patty burger was huge and the produce was fresh. we came on a busy night and it took forever to get our burgers but the bartender, cook and one other worker were hustling and though the service was slow, all of us patrons that night were understanding. We have seen the sign for Harvey's Wineburger for years and never went so on a whim we stopped by not really knowing what to expect. We discovered that is a noisy bar with music and tvs in every corner and DELICIOUS food. The burgers, fries, and onion rings were great, but the buffalo chicken strips were amazing and I am disappointed they don't offer take out because I would stop by and grab them on the way home on the regular. The burgers are moist and flavorful and hard to finish because they are so big. The service here was absolutely excellent and incredibly helpful and friendly. read more

Visited Harvey's Wineburger this evening. The place was packed, yet understaffed. We were there at approximately 6:15pm. While I can understand being understaffed and having to wait when things are busy, there is no need for the rudeness we encountered by the waitress. She was abrasive, short and curt with our entire table. The only reason we stuck around was the kindness and understanding of the bearded gentleman tending the bar and assisting with the tables. Food was great as always, however, the experience leaves a lot to be desired. Will not be going back anytime soon! read more

I will preface by saying that the burger was pretty damn good. However, was it worth the 2 hour wait for it? Not really. Maybe it was just a bad night for the establishment, but we waited 45 minutes after getting waters to even get to order. Then had to wait another hour before finally gettjng our food. Never had our waters refilled once. And they didn't give us the sampler platter we ordered, so we ended up just forfeiting it. It felt like the server deliberately didn't care about our table (possibly because we didn't get drinks) because the table next to us - who waited less time for food than us - was offered a free pitcher of beer for the wait, despite them being attended too much more than us. I haven't been here in year but had an itch for a burger and The Stand was closed so i thought let me make a stop here and grab a beer and order a burger to go. Much to my surprise they aren't doing takeout orders currently. Honestly, seeing how packed it was i can understand they want to take care of the people there first. Even though it's been a couple year since I've been here the burgers are still absolutely delicious. Super juicy and cooked as ordered (medium). WOW! our group of 12 showed up on May 5th to have burgers / beers/ drinks the Manager comes over to tell us He Can't serve a party of 12!! The place wasn't even busy..maybe 10-15 people.... he was very very rude no customer service skills . So if 3 groups of 4 walked in he couldn't serve them either ?? I am not someone who writes reviews, but at this point I feel I am obligated due to an absolutely horrible experience at Harvey's Wineburger. Let me start out that I have been going there for about 45 years. They first sponsored my dad's softball team and then mine as I got older for about 30 years. I have many great memories there, but after yesterday I do not know if I will ever go back. We arrived as a party of 8 yesterday afternoon and were immediately told they will not serve us. We kindly offered to split up and don't all need to sit together. We were also not concerned about a long wait as we were out enjoying the day and had no time restrictions. The owner said it does not matter as we will slow down his cook. We politely asked what if 8 people were to walk in separately would he refuse them service. He proceeded to insult us and tell us to get our own $500,000 and go buy our own restaurant. The crazy thing is there were several open tables and seats. I have never seen such disrespect in any establishment I have ever visited. I have raved about Harvey's burgers for years, and had brought 4 new customers yesterday who I guarantee would spread the word about the amazing burgers. Now, they will never go back, nor will the potential people they would have recommended. It is truly devastating the owner treats people this way, not to mention takes money of pocket of his bartenders and servers. read more

They never seem to have staffing on the weekends. We went to claim a table that was still dirty. Nobody came by to clean it off. I went to the bartender and asked if someone could clean it off. I got a snarky comment from him saying they will come by to clean it. We sat and waited for about 20 min with no server or service. This place is a classic American "dive" bar, complete with a jukebox and a pool table. The selection of wines, beers and drinks Is respectable, and the specialty drinks are unique (I had the PB&J shot). But the food is what makes this place. I usually get the Ruben sandwich, but everything I've tried on the menu is very good. read more

I tried the famous wineburger with cheese. It's a really good burger, and especially for the price (I paid around $11). The only issue I had was that I couldn't really taste any wine flavor. But definitely worth taking a trip out there and trying the burger. Great dive bar atmosphere. read more

Omg! What could there be to say other than, if you love burgers, you must try Harvey's Wineburger! I'd forgotten how absolutely delicious it is. They happened to be open on Christmas, that's right, and me and my gal snuck out for a burger before Christmas dinner and a bloody mary, or two. They're cooked to order and I will advise against wearing your greatest formal sleeves because if you like your burger medium like I do, you're going to have burger juices trailing down your wrists and all over your fries. Mmmmm, my mouth is watering just writing about it. The burger is moist, the buns are soft and their fries are potato. What else could you want? They've got spicy mayo and mayo they'll offer for the burger if you'd like. At times the service can become a bit bottlenecked but who the heck cares by the time you've had the meltypatty in your face.... Just do it, at least once, then tell me I was wrong. read more

The food was surprisingly good for a dive bar. The parking in front is a bit tight & sketchy but there are a couple big lots in the back. The ambience is dimly light (hello, dive bar, remember?!). One side had pool tables but I didn't see how many tables they had. They had a fancy juke box, so fancy you needed an app. Our server was good but I had to ask for my Coke twice. I don't expect to visit Harvey's again but only because I prefer well-lit establishments. read more

Best damn patty melt ever. Place is super friendly with a green Shape of Water movie lighting theme. The soda glasses are the red ones I use to see at Midwest steakhouses. Crowd is crunchy friendly and eclectic. My patty melt was on real rye bread and the meat was not the frozen brick but real ground beef. The onions were the perfect amount and the cheese was super yummy. They also have daily burger specials and the onion rings taste hand made. I'm eager to swing back to this tasty nearby dive soon. Stopped in for a couple burgers yesterday and had TERRIBLE service. It's strange that at Harvey's, the food is always excellent but you only have a 50/50 shot at getting decent service. The bartender kept forgetting about us and turned a 45 min quick lunch into a 2 hour long lunch. The three stars is because of the food. We both had garlic patty melts with extra grilled onions and no mushrooms. One of the BEST burgers I've EVER had! All the food is so good.
