I really enjoyed my time at hash kitchen. The service was fantastic here and the staff was super accommodating. Vibes were great- my biggest mistake was taking my car because I could have spent hours crushing bottomless mimosas. Instead, I took the complete opposite route... drove and ordered a black coffee. That's on me, and it's something I'll need to live with for the rest of my life. Trust me, I'll never make that mistake again. We ordered the avocado toast and the breakfast potato tacos. Both were really good. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I felt as if there were too many "over the top" options. The hashes looked incredible, but I felt as if I'd be incapacitated for the next 48 hours after eating one. Stopped by last minute Friday and was happy with the service and the food was very good! We sat on the patio and they turned on the heater right away for us and it was nice to sit outside with great music and some good food and drinks. The inside floor was extremely dirty and I felt I was going to slip several times when I had to walk inside to use the restroom. The last time I walked in I hurt my foot bc the floor was so slippery. We had the corn beef hash and vegetarian vegetarian omelette and both were quite tasty. The service was just fine, considering that the restaurant was packed. This place was soooo good...and surprisingly pretty busy for a Thursday morning!! Our server was super kind and thoughtful with suggestions once we told her we were first timers. I shared the mimosa flight which was a perfect bubble pairing with strawberry, pineapple, blueberry and (orange- I believe). I had the blueberry and pineapple which were amazing!! The menu has way too many options for an indecisive Aquarius but offered something for everyone!! I enjoyed the jalapeño cornbread skillet (1/2 that day and the other 1/2 was enjoyed the next morning). My girls and I were visiting for my birthday and it was the perfect brunch spot!! We've been to the Gainey Ranch location a few times and loved it. Decided this time that we'd try the North Scottsdale location and we were underwhelmed. Everything was fine, but it just didn't have the same atmosphere as the Gainey location. From the minute we walked in we just felt it was just a big open space with little character. Service was fine, though again, nothing remarkable. I don't expect or need a song and dance from my servers, but we just feel that the servers we've had at Gainey have a little something extra. And perhaps these ladies are a little more enthusiastic as the day gets going. They did nothing wrong, but we didn't feel the same spark that we did at Gainey. For food, I went with the coconut almond crusted French toast. It was HUGE! Pretty good, but not really much almond flavor. (I use a splash of almond extract in my French toast batter at home.) Coconut was good though. Not as crunchy as I was expecting. I also ordered a side of sausage. It's one sausage and more like an Italian sausage I'd have in a sandwich or with pasta than what I usually expect as a breakfast sausage. Hubby had the huevos rancheros skillet, which is pretty much his go-to at Hash Kitchen. He did say this wasn't as good as the others he's had, though he couldn't quite pinpoint why. We'll definitely go to Hash Kitchen again, but think we'll stick with the Gainey Ranch location. read more

We initially went to the Scottsdale Road location but the hostess was rude and I had to basically stand in front of her waving my arms for her to acknowledge that I was there. I usually order the corned beef hash at a new breakfast place to judge. To be honest, I was hoping for real corned beef instead of canned but I was ok with it. I thing a good fried egg can make things better. Mimosas come in 6 different flavors. They do flights and if I wasn't driving, I would've totally done it. I honestly feel sad for Hash Kitchen, it used to be a great Arizona staple. I don't know the causes, but it is undeniable that the quality and service have really deteriorated. Let's start with the "avocado" toast. Avacado in quotations because it is a bit absurd to call it by that name (the picture below should explain). I think there actually has to be avocado on the toast to call it such. Next, we move on to the Frittata. I attached pictures of two because I got my order wrong TWICE. At this point, I gave up on trying to order my meal. One good thing was that I got to taste both, so I can candidly confirm that they were both dry and insipid. The Huevos Rancheros was actually decent..of course, it is not so decent when three people have to share one plate because of the lack of avocado and repeated wrong orders. I should also mention that the service was an abomination. In the end, we rated this as a four star visit, but we rated up based on a perception closer to 3.5 stars. We went on an early Saturday morning to avoid the crowd rush and found plenty of space open in & outdoors; we landed on the patio. I opted for the BYOBMB which can easily become a meal depending upon one's creativity & industry to pack ingredients into a 12 oz mug which goes for a $14 fee. Their online menu doesn't share that tidbit. It instead notes the availability of "over 50 craft toppings" to raid from the bar. Whereas they once made excellent hash; now they simply serve stuff over diced up potatoes; not a sign of anything that looks or tastes like a hash base. I have been here a few times after early doctor appointments nearby. Have not had a wait to be seated (weekdays). The place is very nice and roomy. It kind of has a good vibe, and ambiance music that is not too loud. Service has not been utterly friendly, but OK. We waited about 35 minutes for our food. Our food tasted great. The French toast is one of the best out there. I usually do not try it because most make it soggy. The birria hash was really tasty. I have a theory that the new menu items stem from their recent opening of the mexicana. Would have gotten a higher rating if there was better customer service and a lessened wait for food. Service was not good, had to fill our own waters at one point because we hadn't been checked on by our waitress. They forgot the cheese in my burrito twice and then couldn't warm it up after when they finally brought a side of cheese, so it basically ruined my whole meal. No compensation or remake offered. The atmosphere is very fun, the drinks were good as well. The avocado toast is more of a big slice of a loaf of bread with toppings & the queso is not a dip type, it's just a solid cheese.
