Visited Hatch not long after it opening and had a wonderful experience. I'm giving it 5 starts for the friendly and excellent staff and the awesome cocktails (disclaimer: we didn't have time to stick around and order food though). The host was awesome, very friendly and eager to help us find seating. The place was very busy but he was able to pull two chairs together and find a place for us to squeeze in (we were super thankful). Margaritas were excellent. Super friendly and welcoming ambience. Dined at Hatch Cantina on a Friday night--oddly not crowded for Belltown, which set me aback at first. Was warmly greeted and promptly sat. Service was a bit hard to come by at times, but that was fine as we weren't in a rush. Drinks were good, and the queso appetizer was the highlight of the meal, quite a big portion with great flavors. I opted for the chicken tacos, which were good, but the rice and beans needed something more; they were fairly pedestrian. The wifey opted for the veggie burrito, and she quite liked it. Portion was sizable enough for leftovers. Would definitely give this place another shot. Big space with a fun vibe, modern twist on southwest tile motif. read more

Was recently in the Seattle area and stopped in at Hatch. The atmosphere and decor was beautiful, the food and drinks were to die for. Loved it so much that I ordered more food at the end of my trip to be delivered. Had the pork carnitas both times because the flavor was unmatchable. Don't get me started on the salsas that they have and their own take on a sauce that reminds me of chili crisp. They have amazing customer service and are honestly a hidden gem in my opinion. The service and location are clearly the draw. The hostesses and servers were incredibly nice and friendly. The menu is decently interesting with some random twists like a green chili cheeseburger and popcorn chicken tacos, neither of which are appealing fusions to me personally, but I can appreciate the attempt. The execution is just a total miss. Out of six entrees, not a single one was warmer than room temp. Every burrito, taco, rice bowl was nearly cold to the touch and no cheese was verging on melting. Rice was overly salted. Red sauce was a goop of powders and a splash of water. Green chili sauce was at least seasoned well and had some signs of likely canned tomatillos. I'm of course not expecting the most authentic or highest of quality ingredients, but at this price point there are far better options on the same block, just not SW/Mexican. If you're craving chips and salsa with a cerveza in Belltown, sure. But I won't be back for anything more. read more

Not the best overall experience on this visit to Hatch Cantina - I had been before in the evening with a smaller group and thought it'd be a great spot for a friends birthday brunch that included people visiting from out of town. Unfortunately, after sitting for 25 minutes we still weren't acknowledged at all, to the point that we were confused on if we should expect a server or if we should be ordering at the bar (even though the two tables behind us were being helped by a server who refused to acknowledge our existence). Finally, a different server came to refill our water pitchers and we had to ask to order which they seemed surprised by. The food was great, although the drip coffee that 3 people ordered was not warm (hardly luke warm), and it came out quickly after we ordered. There really was no interaction with a server besides ordering and we were never asked if we were celebrating an occasion, even though that note was left when I initially made the reservation. Overall, a disappointing experience that felt very impersonal. read more

First time going to this restaurant and was pleasantly surprised. Staff was fun and friendly Margarita was delish Queso dip...yum! Garlic salsa/drizzle...I wanted it on everything I ate! So good. Salad has a great dressing similar to a green goddess. Crab tacos paired nicely with the picked onions inside. The cream cheese filled dessert was ridiculously good. There were like 5 of the fried crepe things! So rich and crave worthy. The lighting is just right and the decor is stylish. If you haven't been, I recommend it. Hatch Cantina is a great restaurant for all groups- whether you're here on a date, here with family or catching up with friends. They have a great selection of shareable appetizers including "popcorn chicken" which are incredible. I hope they make a spicy version! Chips and salsa with guac is always a favorite. If you ask your server, they can provide a VERY spicy hot sauce and it is absolutely hot as hell but delicious. My bf and I shared a plate of pork carnitas tacos which comes with rice and beans. That was enough between us 2 for light dinner. Drinks are incredible. We ordered 2 shots of Cazadores Reposado and although they ran out, our server was nice to comp a comparable reposado for us. The atmosphere is fun / modern, but the service and food could be better. We asked for the HH menu a few mins before 10pm and were told there's no food on it and we couldn't see the menu until it was 10pm. We told the waiter we're only getting drinks so he said he'd give us $1 off our drinks. Ironically, we found out drinks on the HH menu are $3-$4 off. Food is overpriced, for example it's $16 for a chop salad with no meat. There's better places around the neighborhood to check out. read more

We chose to go to this restaurant based on the yelp reviews but it was a big disappointment. I'm not sure if it's because we are Hispanic and we are familiar with the food but just over all a bad experience from food , the ambiance, to an automatic surcharge of 20% of the total bill, i would personally never come back. I got the chicken entree which was supposed to include pico de gallo - it didn't have it. Instead I was told that I would be served more bell peppers. Pico de gallo takes about 5 minutes to make considering that it has 3-4 ingredients and it consist of only chopping them or they could just blend it. My husband had chile relleno and it had more of a runny consistency because they used cream cheese instead of queso fresco. Rice was too salty and the beans were bland. Green chile that they offered had too much lime to the point where it wasn't spicy at all it was just acidic, and the red chile was way too heavy on the tomato base. And to add insult to injury the two entrees, a Mexican coke and a corona later somehow equaled to $100??? Which would be fine if the food was half decent. So for a so called "cantina" that wasn't playing Spanish music instead opted for more of an alternative rock vibe, service was eh and the bill totaling to 100$ . I wouldn't recommend. Word of advice, play Spanish music at least if you are going to be calling this place a cantina. read more

Y'all- if you love southwestern food you cannot sleep on this restaurant! I grew up in New Mexico and Hatch Cantina literally transported me back home. We ordered several things including the queso, smothered green chile cheeseburger and the quesadilla. All were incredibly delicious, but we were given a sample of the green chile soup... i was instantly filled with regret that we didn't order a bath tub of this stuff. IT WAS SO GOOD, and not only that- it is so authentic to what you would get in New Mexico! Do yourself a favor and order the green chile soup. It has delicious flavor and slow burn. Warning to those of you that aren't used to the green chile spiciness but it's a must try! I wish i could give hatch cantina 10 stars. We will for sure be back every chance we get. read more

We were here for a quick dinner before a show and we really enjoyed it. The queso was amaaazing, with fresh chips and delicious beans. The margaritas were delicious as well, the House Marg was better than the prickly pear. The Chile burger was, honestly, disgusting and inedible. I ate just enough to feel bad about sending it back, but the waiter (Harley) noticed and was very gracious about it. Offered us a dessert to make up for it. We got the deep fried ice cream, which is coated in Frosted Flakes and drizzled with an incredible roasted peach sauce. We came here on a Friday (it's been open for two weeks I think) and were greeted by Sarah at the bar, who was sweet, knowledgeable, and excited about her fun cocktail menu. Dropped in on a whim and we're glad we did. I had the Chile Colorado tacos which were a perfect choice: two tacos with a just right amount of meat in a rich lightly spicy sauce and sprinkled with picked red onions. I added some of their hatch Chile and garlic spice, which gave it a little crunch. Oh and the blue corn taco shells with the cheese carmelized onto them...wow. Partner had a carnitas burrito Christmas-style (red and green sauce). Said the meat was good but adding the red hatch Chile sauce from the table set (red spicy, green mild and crunchy Chile-garlic) was a must. Staying in Downtown Seattle can be a challenge, to chose a place to eat because there are so many. To find a reasonably priced restaurant, because they are far and few. Only in town for one night, because we were going on a cruise the next day, we didn't want to go to a $20 and up per person place and there were so many in that category to chose from. Boy did we accidentally stumble on this Gem. The prices were super reasonable. The staff was great and super friendly, The owner was very nice, checking on the tables. Unique southwestern cuisine. I love the chicken nuggets and beef tacos; great crunch on the chicken, it's a a very sophisticated take; the meat in the tacos was beautiful. Also, the salsa selection here is the best I've ever had at a restaurant. A lot of fresh flavors, unique combinations of spice and oil. The balances of flavor were spot on for me. Finally tried this place because I had been mostly eyeing the drinks. I got two Blood Orange margaritas and they did not disappoint so yummy and strong. This is the only reason this place got 3 stars. The service was rather slow, looked like one server was taking tables and making drinks. I wasn't in a rush so it was fine but it felt like she forgot about our drinks and to take our order. I ordered the carnitas tacos and they were ok. The green salsa at the table definitely made them better. Also not sure how long you can leave out salsas out on the table? The beans and rice were completely flavorless. We have been WAITING for some wonderful people to turn this empty spot in Belltown into something magical and it is here! We popped by for a cocktail on our way home from seeing a show and had a delightful experience at the bar with Sarah. The drinks are great - the Spicy Caliente Senorita is ACTUALLY spicy in a -delicious I get to sip on it for a while and enjoy spicy -way. The Prickly Pear Cadillac Rita also delicious as well as the Cantina Michelada. And we are Bloody Mary/Chelada connoisseurs so... we can't wait for them to launch brunch. And because we couldn't help ourselves we tried the Old Fashioned and the Aperol Spritz. Both on point. Haven't gotten to eat here yet but based off of this experience we can't wait.
