I was beyond elated I found Haus Lounge and gave it a shot. My friend and I were looking for food around midnight that was not fast food. We decided to check out Haus Lounge because I love me some Korean food. We were able to find parking at the lot easily even though the lounge was busy. It was a little bit difficult to find the entrance as there was no entrance by where we parked at the lot. We went around the building and found the entrance by the street. When we got there, we were promptly seated at a table and received a menu. Service was quick throughout the night: we didn't have to wait long to be served water and for a server to take our order. We ordered a takoyaki and budae jjigae. The takoyaki came with eight octopus balls, and the budae jjigae was enough for two people. I loved that the takoyaki skin was a little dry and had a slight crisp to it. The budae jjigae was flavorful and hit the spot. I expected the budae jjigae to be packed with non-meat ingredients like tofu, kimchi, and ramen, but I was surprised by how much ham and sausage came with the stew. What set Haus Lounge apart from other Korean restaurants besides the good food and late hours was the atmosphere. The music was--dare I say--better than at some clubs. I called a few weeks in advance to book the super adorable private party room, though I would love to go back and sit in the general area as the decorations and overall atmosphere are so nice.
