Always great! Really sweet yummy fruit mojitos, I had to try tonight's special: rose vodka mojito. We had the cod fritters, pastelon cubano, ceviche & quesadilla champignons (mushroom) I ordered a bunch of apps cause that's what I do when I can't decide, which can backfire from time to time but I've been here at least two times so I Know the apps are good. The ambiance is very brronnxx. I love it here, it's a top tier neighborhood bar with good vibes & better food. Definitely a loud place, great for a birthday or casual celebration or first date. What I would recommend is the pastelon cubano and ceviche special! The ceviche has chunks of rare salmon and shrimp that have been soaking in this sweet mango onion lime or lemon juice that tastes amazing with avo and plantain micro chips. I really hope they keep that on the menu.... ...the cuban pastelon while considered an app is quite filling, it's got shredded beef, sweet plantain and a great thick layer of melted cheese. Great for sharing and as an entree with their bread rolls. Overall great ambiance, service is primarily good though I feel we had a beginner/new server this last time. Brunch was pretty good. My partner and I both had "El Gran Combo" and it was worth it. It comes with a 8oz steak, homefries, eggs to your taste, and three pancakes. The steak is the centerpiece, the star of the dish. Topped with a little of chimi sauce (I wish there was more), my medium-well steak was flavorful and delicious. The pancakes were cold and a little lack luster, but they still fulfilled my sweet tooth. We got unlimited mimosas and they were the right amount of sparkly, bubbly. A pretty solid visit! read more

The piña colada was watery, the empanadas were cute but after I ordered the appetizer the waitress took 35 minutes to check on me and then I was finally able to order the entree. The pollo al mojo was good, I asked to substitute the Maduros for tostones and was told no (mind you they cost the same price on the menu and this was after waiting 35 minutes to order) I still ordered the tostones as a side and asked the maduros not be brought out. The only time the waitress was attentive was when I asked for the check. I did not even want to tip for the bad service but I tipped anyways. Food was good, service was trash. This is a restaurant that I frequented often because I worked in the area. I have been working remotely from home and decided today to order from them and pick up my food curbside. I usually would get the pastelon, which is delicious. However, today I decided to try the chicharron de pollo. The chicharron comes with pickled peppers and onions and a cilantro cream with roasted red pepper sauce. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and the sauce was amazing. The sauce was velvety smooth and the cilantro and toasted red peppers melded awesomely well. I will definitely order extra sauce next time. I highly recommend. read more

I had an amazing time here with friends last Friday. The food was good but my drink was a little too strong and a couple of their drinks were not strong at all. So if they could be more consistent with their drinks they would be great. I noticed the manager was there which was a good sign to me because he was making sure everyone enjoyed themselves. The DJ was the best part. We got there at 8:30 and ended up leaving almost midnight because the music was too good to leave lol. Half the restaurant was dancing and vibing to the music or singing. I have visted this place 3 times all on a Monday and sat by the bar. The food is always good but the bartender (Denise) Is horrible. I sat there for over 25 mins and she didn't even bother a observed that I was there waiting to orIder. Mind you the bar was not busy at all, but she sure was busy conversing with the male customers for a good 30 mins while Im just seating waiting to order a drink and some food. I had to literally call her from the other end of the bar so I can get her attention. If not I would had just sat there for much longer like if I was invisible. Now this did not happened just once but twice with the same bartender (Denise) I decided that I won't be going back there on a Monday. I also heard her tell the the customers she was conversing with that "people be seating in the wrong seat" like really! So she only serve those that seat at one end of the bar. They really need to check this young lady because I had a friend tell me that she too had the same experience with the same bartender (Denise) Please Mr. Manager do not let this one person ruin such a nice establishment you guys have going there. read more

Great spot for Cuban food. I had a ribeye a few weeks ago. It wasn't cheap but it was cooked perfectly and was delicious. To start we were served a great bread with bean spread. Visited this restaurant for a work lunch. It was such a good experience. For apps we had the chicharron de pollo & chicken empanadas. Excellent! I ordered the Ropa Vieja. One thing this place definitely knows how to do is season food! I was shocked when I took the first bite. The rice was buttery and the beans flavorful as well. Service was great. Excellent service, frequent water refills and extra napkins, checked on regularly. Comfortable decor, dark wood and leather and ceiling fans, languid like the islands. Lots of customers. Interesting mixed drink choices, had one with vodka, cream and orange juice, it was delicious, not too much liquor the way I like it. For lunch, I ordered Sandwich Cubano and requested side salad instead of the fries that it comes with. Unfortunately, I was not bowled over by the sandwich, the pork tasted like it was boiled instead of roasted and the pickles and mustard couldn't be distinguished, the bread was just ordinary. The side salad was just very nice spring greens and nothing else. So, I couldn't give five stars, but the menu had so many choices, including several vegan options that sounded very good, I would go back and try more choices, maybe they would be better than the sandwich I had today. I am creature of habit, so I always tend to get the same two or three things off their menu. Hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! For starters I begin with the empanadas, the beef and chicken. These are always fresh and delicious. Then I move on to the main course which is either the scrumptious ropa vieja, picadillo or pastelon. Those are my favorite things on the menu and having been to Cuba, I say that they do an awesome job and keeping their level of authenticity. Finally I end with a flan for desert. I ALWAYS end up leaving this place so dammed stuffed! The atmosphere is a lively with music, usually playing so loud that you normally have to yell at one another to be heard. Service is great. The waiters are really attentive to the point where and you've nearly finished your drink when they're approaching you offering you a refill or asking if you want another drink. Overall, this has been a favorite spot for me for quite a while. Let me tell you, they don't disappoint. The atmosphere can be loud, but the food and service more than make up for it. read more

Havana Cafe was able to accommodate our crazy family on a recent lunch outing. We didn't make a reservation but were still quickly seated on a Thursday afternoon. Our waitress (Michelle) was amazing - she was kind, patient, and took great care of us during the couple of hours we spent there. I had the coconut mojito to drink and it was one of the best I've ever had. For my entree I had the chicken that came with an order of rice and beans. It was a huge portion and I ended up taking some home. Since it was my aunt's birthday (and partially the reason we got together) Michelle made sure to surprise her with a slice of tres leches cake and a candle. The cake was great and it was a nice way to end the event. Prices are fair for the area, service (as I mentioned) is wonderful, and the restaurant itself is super pretty inside. Great portions even better drinks....but I have to knock it down a star. Last Thursday the place was PACKED we waited over 30 minutes to be seated. We also waited at least 10 minutes before we were able to order our drinks, they also forgot to give us their famous black beans and bread. I also had to wait 30 minutes for my second order of tostones. All of this to say; I never once complained and expressed my annoyance with the long wait as the place was busy and for good reason. That being said-if I can show restraint so should the waitress that was attending my friends and I. When the tab came she had randomly held up a card and asked what is the charge for this card. I tried to explain as I held up my card to that she can charge my card and then the rest on my friend's card. She rudely interrupted me and spoke slowly as if she was scolding me, repeating the same question. I took a breath and explained what can be charged on my card. IF I can bite my tongue then so should she. This won't stop me from coming back but I won't be coming here when it's crowded. read more
