Brunch... I've eaten here once before but from a mini late night menu and the garlic fries are my fave til this day!!! Which was why I was glad I was coming back for brunch the service is excellent although busy waiters very attentive. Had the crab cake Benedict and ate the whole plate I preferred my eggs scrambled which worked perfectly; added a side of home fries which were so flavorful didn't need nothing but ketchup. The unlimited sangrias and mimosas catches up to you so be careful lol we ordered two desserts because me and my friends are greedy; the flanchoco and the coquito brownies with ice cream everything was so yum. Waiting to come here until I was in the area. Saw mixed reviews but I was optimistic. The host was not really pleasant but I looked past it. I came in ordered my meal as I had a Groupon . I ordered the allowed amount except $8.95 when the bill came saying I owed an additional $30 I was shocked. How can I order 1 appetizer under ($12) 2 meals (under $32) and 2 sangrias (under 14.99) which is what's included and have to pay extra $30? Gratuity was not added according to them so it doesn't add up. The salad that I got was spoiled (view pics). I'm really disappointed. This place has gotten an upgrade during the pandemic. They have a great outside (on the sidewalk) area. The music is loud here so please do not go here if you are looking to have conversations. This was my first time visiting Havana Cafe but it won't be my last. Met a group of friends there for dinner on a Friday evening. Initially we called to get a reservation (there was 8 of us) but was told they weren't taking reservations. The day of we got a call confirming us for 6:00 that evening which was great! Sure enough, our table was ready for us at 6:00 although they wouldn't seat us until everyone arrived. We had drinks at the bar (it was happy hour) I had the red Sangria ($5) and it was pretty good. The place is very lively but not that big and it gets crowded so be prepared to be bumped into and moving out of the way when standing at the bar. Finally we were seated. Our waitress came over quickly to take drink/apps orders. I started with the Cangrejitos - Mini corn and crab cakes with chipotle dipping sauce. Can you say delicious!!! The cakes were soooo crunchy but not dry on the inside although I could have used a little more of the dipping sauce. For entree I had the Camarones Enchilados - jumbo shrimp in a creole sauce. That sauce was fantastic! My friend sitting next to me kept dipping her yuca fries in the sauce it was so good. I liked this place and look forward to going back again! read more

Came here after work with co-workers during happy hour. After having ordered 3 drinks and returning them all, I finally settled on the Rum Punch which wasn't bad. For my entre I had the "Mero" which was roasted filet with mash potatoes and broccoli. The fish and mash were great. The broccoli was steamed too soft; I like mine a little crunch. They didn't have a huge supply of inventory; they ran out of Prosecco, vanilla ice cream (for the dessert), and Zinfandel. Overall experience was "ok". read more

Plenty of TVs (my boyfriend loved that because he's a huge yankee fan and was able to eat and watch the game on the big screen in the back! Wait staff did not rush us out and let us lounge and relax a bit after our main entree and dessert. Though it was packed, we did not have to wait to be seated. Interior decoration were really cool! Especially in the bathroom because they had cigar boxes hanging up as art! So cool. I've never been to Cuba but I would imagine the restaurants there felt a lot like this one! Cons: Wait staff was polite but didn't seem as if they were happy to be there. In their defense, it was very crowded that night! The tables are also really close together. So maneuvering around was a bit of a challenge. There's only one bathroom, that could make for a huge headache if someone had an emergency, but, it kind of adds to the home style ambiance again, ya know? I don't really have many cons about this place at all! My biggest complaint would be the spacing with the tables. But I look forward to going back and trying another dish or getting that delicious Salmon again. On average you'll pay at least $45.00 to $50.00 for two. $20-$40.00 for one person. I would highly recommend this place for date night or bar lounging with a group of friends. Great spot! read more

This place is only worth it for the happy hour and ONLY happy hour pretty good deal of $5 for most drinks (okay maybe lunch isn't bad with some of the prices cheaper but dinner isn't worth it) food: the garlic fries were probably the best thing i also got this $14 appetizer that was the night's special. i thought that even though it said appetizer it would be a decent size. ... NOPE. there were literally 3 circle tortilla chips about 2 inches in diameter w/ some guac and 2 shrimps on them and some beans on the bottom... -____- so each one cost almost $5... wtheck is that. most of the other food is quite pricey too, especially the entrees. we had to wait about 40 min for a table for a group of 8.. understandable but still long. However, when we finally sat, the service in general was so slow. after we ordered, it took OVER AN HOUR (not exaggerating) for the food to come out. and afterwards, there were significant delays asking to get the check, waiting for them to take the paid check, and bringing it back to sign. overall, it was a MEH experience. if we ever come back, we'll stay just for happy hour and french fries. OR... i recommend Pizzaniste about a block or 2 down! good pizza. read more

I came here with a group of 6 total after a volleyball tournament, and I shared the tostones, garlic fries, and Ropa Vieja (shredded beef which comes with rice, black beans, and plantains) with another person. The flavor for all the food was definitely on the light side, but the "garlic" for the fries was the same green sauce that came with the tostones and yuca fries (which another person at the table ordered). I believe the green sauce was cilantro and onions, and it had a ton of oil in it. All the food we had was very light on flavor and I wasn't a fan; it wasn't salty either, just all pretty bland.
