I came in last Friday around 5pm, because I wanted a good steak and planned to meet in the area with friends. So I thought I'd eat here before meeting up with them. I was seated right away, there weren't too many people. The lady who sat me and took my order just didn't seem very pleasant. She didn't smile, honestly she looks like she hates her job. I'm a people person, and so seeing servers like that is such a let down in any establishment. Especially when I use to work at a restaurant myself. She took my order and what I ordered was one of the more expensive parts of the menu. Now I came in very casual, and I tend to look younger than my age. So I felt that maybe she didn't trust me thinking I'd dine and dash based on how I look or it's all in my head. However I did see her demeanor change a bit for an elderly couple. When I feel like that I tend to not want to stay longer. The steak and broccolini were delicious. There were these sliced potatoes layered then sliced in rectangle shapes and fried. I have no clue what it was, but it was all really good. The cornbread was delicious too! That butter was sweet, but it had a flavor I couldn't quite pinpoint. It went really well with the cornbread. The food was excellent. I ate fairly quickly because I already felt kind of weird from feeling like I don't belong and asked someone for my check and box. The gentlemen who did help me was incredibly warm, which I appreciate. I wish I got his name. He made this dinner a bit more pleasant. Then after the dinner was over I left so quickly I forgot my phone and the host that night was also very sweet. Despite that one lady server, the food, male server and female host made it a lot better.

    Love I.

Came with a group of friends one night. We all got very different dishes - everything was fantastic. Wish I had more pics of the food. Overall great food and vibe.

Came here on a busy warm winter Friday with a team for lunch, and yeah... parking was a bit of a scavenger hunt. That part aside, solid experience all around. I went with the burger (Juicy, cooked to perfection) and swapped the fries for a salad and honestly, no regrets. It was very, very good. Fresh, flavorful, and didn't leave me feeling like I needed a nap. Everyone at the table seemed happy with their picks too...lots of to-go boxes, which is always a good sign. The inside was calm and welcoming, nice atmosphere, good selection on the menu, and the service was on point from start to finish. Would definitely come back. Just plan a little extra time for parking if you're rolling in with a group on a busy day or weekend.

Still one of my favorites in the neighborhood. I do miss the lamb burger from pre pandemic era. Attentive staff, easy to get a table for lunch. Interiora haven't changed much but they are still holding upl. The banquet along the window need pillows on the back to make them more comfy.

I took a walk on Tuesday night, after leaving the Elks lodge. Contra Coffee was jammed packed and I was looking for a spot to relax and study. I saw that Haven was fairly peaceful that night and walked inside. I was offered the bar section and Matt served me. He was a consummate professional and experienced in fine dining. I was thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and service. He knew the menu very well and made great recommendations. It's rare to experience good service nowadays, so I appreciate the times that I do. Because I was stuffed, I missed having dessert. Matt mentioned that Haven is also a creamery and their ice creams are top notch. I will return soon, so I can experience their homemade ice cream. See you soon.

This is a local spot in Old Town Orange Circle! Seems to be quaint for a chill date night, catching up with friends etc with friendly and attentive service. Never usually a wait and they also have a late night food+drinks menu after 9pm. Food: 6.7/10 Black truffle Mac and Cheese- surprisingly the one dish that we ordered I'd think needed more flavor. Grilled Spanish Octopus- the eggplant puree with caponata was enjoyable, the octopus itself was way too salty but was cooked to the perfect tenderness French onion soup- there was nothing special about it, flavors seemed surface level with a lot of saltiness Deviled eggs- no notes for these! Me and my table enjoyed them!

We went here for brunch on a Saturday and was sat immediately. We ordered the brunch burger and chorizo hash as well as some beers. Everything was delicious.

Walking around the orange city square me and my cousin decided to come in food and drinks on a late Sunday afternoon. It wasn't super packed and we got to sit near the window and people watch lol. Our server was very friendly and gave us some suggestions on what to order. We each ordered the Haven whiskey sour and it was delicious!! For food I got the OG haven burger and she got the Italian beef sandwich. We cut each one in half and shared so we could taste each others. We agreed that we loved the burger but the Italian beef sandwich was not that great. The meat tasted like it had been frozen and it just permeated throughout the sandwich which we couldn't get past. The peppers on top were good though. We also enjoyed the fries as well. I would definitely come back and see what else is good and come back for that whiskey sour as well!!

I love OC restaurant week, cuz not only do I get to try new places for affordable prices (3 course meals no less), but I also get to sneak in a date night with the hubs. Double win! This year, we opt'd to try Haven Craft Kitchen & Bar in Old Town Orange. The menu looked enticing and the Yelp reviews were positive. Such a cute, modern Californian restaurant with chill/laidback vibes. Known for their gourmet comfort food, craft cocktails, and an extensive selection of beer, wine, and whiskey, it offers a warm atmosphere with indoor and patio seating. The menu emphasizes fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. Definitely a place that could be good for brunch, dinner, happy hour, and group hangouts. Our server was nice and attentive. Just parking along the Old Towne streets can be a pain, but we lucked out with front row parking. The hubs & I got different dishes for our appetizer, entree & dessert courses, so we could try a lil bit of everything. French onion soup, duck confit & sticky toffee pudding for me and locally grown burrata, 6 oz prime flat iron steak and pumpkin cheesecake for him. My soup was deelish. Full of depth & onion flavor and cheesy goodness. Not overly salty at all, like others can sometime be. The duck was moist and accompanied the beans, pork belly sofrito & spring onion well. I was pleasantly surprised, since I'm usually not a huge fan of beans. The sticky toffee pudding was decadently sweet and rich. I could only take a few bits, but glad I was able to try it. Not something I'd order on my own accord usually. The hub's burrata app was ok, wish it was more softer in texture, to eat & spread with the grilled toast. His flat iron steak was cooked perfectly, to our medium-rare specifications. It was soft and tender. His pumpkin cheesecake was surprisingly sooo good. Definitely my fav of the 2 desserts. I'm not a huge pumpkin fan, but it was light & subtle and not an overly rich cheesecake. It was surely baked to melt in your mouth. My hubs & I finished that dessert, for sure! Mmm.. Overall, such a good food find. A must try & RxFoodie recommend ~ esp. during OCRW when it's such a deal for all that food!

Haven Craft Kitchen was not too shabby at all. There is a new church called Grace that just opened a block away and honestly this spot is perfectly placed for church goers to grab some brunch afterwards. The food was tasty and satisfying, not necessarily the kind that blows your mind, but definitely solid enough that I would bring some friends here for a relaxed meal. The vibe is great too, cozy and welcoming, and it would be a perfect place to have live music playing in the background. Service was kind and attentive which made the experience even better. Overall it is a chill and enjoyable spot that feels right for a Sunday brunch after church or just catching up with friends over good food!!!

    Happy San Patrick's Day :)

We have come back for drinks and brunch after visiting this place years ago. The menus are different and I liked them. The brunch experience was great. They have great selections of beers and ciders which I liked a lot. For brunch food we had chai tea, cane cola, chicken fried steak & eggs and Mary's chicken sandwich. The food was delicious in large portions and very reasonably priced. The service was a bit slow but very friendly. They had live music in the patio. We'd come back for brunch again!

A friend took me for birthday dinner. Plenty of meter parking available or you can also find a spot on the residential streets. We were seated immediately even without reservations. Place is pretty loud. Whiskey sour great! Crispy Brussel sprouts, delicious!! Short rib pasta was good. I'd love to come back and try other things off the menu like the cornbread I saw everyone ordering. The Brussel sprouts are a must!

There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

Do you guys remember the infamous rainforest cafe that used to be at Disneyland? Well this place…read moregave those vibes and I really miss rain forest! This was such a gem of the place. The inside was decorated all throughout and made you feel like you were truly in a different place. It's dim, intimate and gave such a cool atmosphere! I heard this place is hard to get a reservation but one of my girlfriends was able to snag one the week prior! The inside of the restaurant is a smaller establishment so I can see why reservations would be difficult. They have a plethora of drinks! Mostly specializing in specialty rum cocktails. Ordered the ritual of the Queen which was a specialty drink with tequila and coconut rum. Very delicious! For food our table shared the Loco Moco and chicken katsu. Both delicious! There is also another smaller bar area behind closed doors that give speak easy vibes. I'm not sure how or if this place accommodates big groups as the tables are good for maybe 4-6 people. I'd definitely come back her
