We stopped by Hawaiian Aroma Caffe for breakfast because Vintage Island Coffee was ridiculously packed and we needed a place to grab food quickly before walking over to the zoo. Overall, it was pretty underwhelming. The acai bowl was very average and the fruit didn't taste fresh (honestly it felt like canned fruits). Coffee was also subpar and nothing memorable. If anything, the pesto sandwich my wife got was the best dish here. The space itself is very pretty and the service was okay, but overall this felt like a very standard cafe you'd find anywhere in Huntington or Newport Beach (for the SoCal peeps). If you're in Waikiki with limited breakfast options, it does its job.
Stopped by here for breakfast and tried the waffles with fresh fruit and an acai bowl. The waffles were delicious and perfectly crisp, topped with nicely fresh fruit--definitely a highlight. The acai bowl was just okay, not particularly memorable, but still decent. The spot has a nice vibe and friendly service, making it a comfortable place for a casual breakfast.
I love this place. The Dolce Banana coffee is a favorite of mine and I found a review I posted here from 2016 for one of their previous locations, that is how long I have been a fan. This visit for brekky was great. An early Saturday in Waikiki, we stopped in for acai bowls and coffee, picked a table outside, and had a really relaxing visit. Located at the end of the busy Kalakaua strip where it settles down, just before you reach the Honolulu Zoo, this is a great location to sit and relax. Nice music was playing, not a familiar Playlist which was nice to hear something new yet trendy. Views of the ocean and sounds of the waves if you sit outside, or indoor seating is available. If you are not staying in Waikiki, you can find nearby parking at the zoo lot or side streets (a lot less expensive than in the hotel lots). They have more than one location in the area so if this is not close to you, look online to see if another spot may be. Their coffee is worth it.
My wife and I stopped by Hawaiian Aroma Caffè after Easter Sunday service at a nearby church, excited to try it together. I had visited their sister location the night before in Waikīkī and had such a great experience that I told my wife, "If this place is anything like last night, we're in for something good." She agreed--and we decided to give it a shot. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by Colby, a tall, friendly guy with a great attitude. I mentioned my experience from the night before, and he immediately said he wanted to live up to that standard. That kind of response set a really positive tone. We ordered two Aroma Specials: Dolce & Banana (me) Nutella Latte (my wife) For food, we went with: P.B. Delight açaí bowl Turkey pesto panini Bacon & egg bagel Total came out to about $62, which we expected given the location near the beach. We grabbed a seat inside by the window (outside seating was full--no surprise on such a beautiful morning). Our drinks came out quickly--but unfortunately, this is where things started a little rough. We both noticed right away that something was off. My wife's Nutella latte didn't have that rich hazelnut flavor you'd expect, and my Dolce & Banana was missing the banana entirely. Honestly, they tasted almost identical. When I politely mentioned it to a staff member who brought out our food, the response felt dismissive and didn't really address the concern--which was disappointing and definitely not the experience we were hoping for. At that point, we decided to just enjoy the food and move forward--and I'm glad we did, because the food was fantastic. The turkey pesto panini was loaded with flavor, perfectly crispy on the outside, and packed with melty cheese. The bacon & egg bagel was hearty, well-balanced, and super satisfying. The P.B. Delight açaí bowl was the surprise standout--perfectly blended, fresh, and the peanut butter added an awesome richness that made it feel like a treat. Everything on the food side absolutely delivered. A few minutes later, Colby came by to check on us--and this is where the entire experience turned around. I let him know honestly: "The food is amazing, but the coffee missed the mark." Without hesitation, without attitude, and without making excuses, he said, "Hang on, let me fix that." I even told him not to worry about it--we were enjoying ourselves regardless--but he insisted. "Rick, I got you," he said. Within minutes, he came back with two freshly made drinks and a sincere apology. We took a sip and immediately--night and day difference. The Nutella latte had that rich, distinct hazelnut flavor. The Dolce & Banana finally had that smooth, balanced banana note Exactly what we were hoping for the first time. Colby is the MVP Colby completely turned this experience around. His attitude never changed--he was smiling, positive, kind, and genuinely cared about making things right. No defensiveness, no excuses--just great customer service and follow-through. That kind of service is rare, and it matters. It's evident that not all the workers have that same dedication to customer service but Colby does! What could have been a disappointing visit ended up being a great one because of him. Hawaiian Aroma Caffè--take care of this young man! He represents your business incredibly well. He needs to be leading your team on what customer service looks like and they need to follow his lead. From naming customers by their first name, to holding that perfect smile the entire time, to checking in with guests after receiving their meals and really caring about their experience. Colby naturally has it and should be showing every one how to do it as well! The Future Looks Bright for Colby and if you don't take of him, someone smart will! Final Thoughts Great food, great location, and a really cool atmosphere--but what stood out most was the service recovery. Mistakes happen anywhere. We happened to stumble upon this caffe and were enticed in by their amazing pizza deals. They had a pizza and beer for $12 or pizza and cocktail combo for $15. I oped for the pizza and a frozen strawberry margarita. Both the food and the beverages were crafted to perfection . The pizza came out quickly -it's a personal pan size - about the size of an 8x4 flatbread. Service was fantastic and friendly. They have great daily happy hour. If you are looking for a quick lunch spot this is a place to check out for sure in between shopping or as a break from the beach !
The Hawaiian aroma Café is so convenient from where we're staying. All the servers here are all kind and friendly with each other. It's nice to come into an establishment where everyone can have fun. Brings out some positive vibes. Very cool that there's seating inside or you can sit near the pool. The breakfast here is good and for reasonable price. The last time we had breakfast here we ordered the traditional waffle, two side of eggs and side of bacon. Of course we had to grab a hot latte for our coffee. The latte was good but more on the creamier side. Our breakfast came out nice and hot! Really liked that, even though this place was pretty busy! I would definitely come back here.

We had breakfast at this café for two days in a row and were very happy with our experience. The Turkey Pesto Panini was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was great as well. The atmosphere was lovely, relaxing, and welcoming. The service was friendly and everything was well prepared. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this place.
I popped into the Waikiki Walls location looking to grab a quick breakfast to start my day. As soon as I walked in, I noticed that it was very clean, bright, very open space with a modern touch. It was nice to people watch and enjoy breakfast while sitting outside. We got the Berry Acai Bowl with granola, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, chocolate chips, bee pollen & honey. We also ordered the Bacon Bagel with sweet & spicy mustard, crispy bacon, egg patty and cheddar cheese. We received fast, friendly service at a great price!

The cutest cafe with options for coffee and tea, bakery goods, acai, and hot food (I have struggled to find a more dynamic breakfast place like this in the area). Conveniently located off the main road in Waikiki, perfect for mornings at/by the beach! They have options for grab and go or dine-in, with indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were extremely kind and knowledgeable on the menu items. I wish I took photos of the interior because it was just too cute! A beachy and boho vibe, with a wall dedicated to fins, and many other fun decor hung around the shop. The outdoor umbrellas are frilly and adorable as well. My strawberry matcha was delicious, and I was able to customize the sweetness level, fruit flavor, and milk type. My friend tried their coconut pastry and really enjoyed it as well. 10/10 recommend! read more

I ate breakfast here every day for a week and was never disappointed. It can get busy so coffees can take a few minutes but it's worth the wait. Servers are friendly. Environment is cool and they have good music playing. They have sandwiches and waffles and fruit bowls. read more

Popped in after surfing at Waikiki beach in the morning. We ordered an iced vanilla latte, iced tea (unsweetened), a caprese sandwich, and traditional waffle plate. Drinks were a great little pick me up and food was delicious. We ended up ordering to go so we ate while we walked, but it was still delicious. Not cheap as nothing is in the touristy areas, but I appreciate that the prices are reasonable. read more

Great place to pick up breakfast and enjoy dining on the patio with a beach view. Located at the end of the Waikiki strip near the zoo end. Service was friendly but a little slow to get the food out. Food was decent but nothing to write home about. Coffee was also average considering the name of the place. I was looking for some Hawaiian coffee and found this little spot for breakfast on the first morning. I had some avocado toast, which was delicious and my husband ordered the breakfast special which he said was good but really small portion for the price. Thankfully the avocado toast was a pretty large size so he ate half, the coffee was amazing and the location was right across the street from the beach!! read more

We came across this place looking for an early morning place for coffee. I guess most people are u early as they are from the mainland so coffee places are packed in the AM. This place is hidden on the second floor of a hotel so we lucked out having to wait in a long line. We must have gotten here at the right time (6:30 AM) as it suddenly did get busy right after we ordered. The vibe here is nice and open. I live in the area and looked up near by places to get an açaí bowl. That's how I came across Hawaiian Aroma Caffe. I have to go to the beach and gather up sand for an experiment (I'm not stealing sand) and this place is on the way. The girl working was like "oh we have the best açaí bowl" and I'm like aight bet. Yo. This açaí bowl is something else! I guess what I mean is my friend recommended HI Blend's açaí bowl and when I got it, it was just an açaí bowl for double the price of Da Spot's. This acai bowl has this different honey that slaps. It's so good! Bruh. Blue berries and strawberries are common, but I got black berries, raspberries (why is it spelled that way but not pronounced that way?), and chocolate chips. It's amazing. I will be returning real soon because my girlfriend also like acai bowls. The menu looks extensive too so I will come back and get a coffee one of these days. Only downside is the acai bowl took a while to make (like 20+ minutes. Maybe I caught them at a busy time? 9am on a Tuesday), and there was a lot of birds that got inside the cafe. The table I'm sitting at is also covered with liquid but I'm pretty sure it's just water. Other than that, the acai bowl was so good that I had to just eat it fresh. Best decision ever! read more

What a fun little spot to stumble upon. We took a walk along the beach and felt the need to for quick snack. The inside was adorable and the service was very good and accommodating. I got an açaí bowl and just wanted the berries and açaí and it was fantastic. My friend got the coconut pineapple bread and then ordered pineapple juice with sparkling water. The woman who took our order probably thought we were a bit crazy since we special ordered 2 out of 4 items. Definitely want to go back again. read more

We stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber. The cafe is located right next to the lobby of the hotel. We booked the Costco package which included free breakfast vouchers. The menu for the Costco package is limited, but you can upgrade to other menu options for a small price. The service was quick and food always tasted fresh. Staff was always smiling and super friendly. I've never had salad for breakfast prior to this trip, but it was so good I ordered It everyday! read more
