Very dissatisfied with the accommodations at Hawks Cay for the price. We rented a 2 room villa and the rooms were tiny and bathrooms were so small 1 person couldn't comfortably fit- definitely not worth what they are charging to stay here and there's no internet. Garbage outside the villa wasn't picked up from previous guests and cabinet drawers weren't cleaned out - dirty towels, vape pens, etc. We dined at both restaurants and they were terrible. We did New Years eve at Sixty-one prime and it was $125/head set menu which we weren't told about. Worst dinner I've ever had. The manager was very nice and made an adjustment for us. Where to begin. We booked through Expedia expecting one price, when we got there, the Reservation Specialist informed me that they would be putting an additional 1600.00 hold on my card - on top of the full 8 day stay for "incidentals" - this was very surprising and unexpected to say the least. No directions on how to get to our room or any information on the resort its restaurants or features at all, just a "thanks for money - good luck with that". We get to the room and there is mold in 3 places in the ceiling. I went back downstairs and requested another room. We get a new room, the paint is cracked all over the ceiling and the bathtub did not drain while you were showering, so come morning, you had a tub full of sand and what ever other dirt you brought in with you after a day in the water, fishing, kayaking, etc. No wash clothes, and 1 small bar of soap, in this COVID time you need more soap. Oh and better yet they have what looked like a soap dispenser by the sink, I was excited to see this BUT.... it was body lotion! Who does this? Every time you go to the sink to wash your hands (which we should all be doing a lot of), you ended up with lotion instead, and it was permanently fixed to the counter, so you could not move it. But we dealt with this too. 2 days prior to our departure (day 6) we decided to leave early, told by Reservation Specialist, sure you can leave, but we will still charge you for those last 2 days of your stay, "no early leaving, no changes, no cancellations" - wait no one told me that... At this point, I am highly up set and my husband has to be the voice of reason because I am fuming. He complains about the tub and they upgrade us. We think, ok we would rather leave, but this is good they are making up for it - good customer service after all. NOT SO QUICK there, nope, the junior suite they moved us to, we found pills and cereal on the floor, no wash clothes and the coffee table looks like it came from cheap pay by the hour motel. Did the actually clean this place or just put a sticker on the door indicating it has been sanitized. I assure you it was not. What is going on at this place?? You expect Hawks Cay for the pricing and "elite" status that it portrays to be much better than this, it was awful. To top it all off, last night there, there are several police officers, at least 2 guests in handcuffs, one is a female in a small bikini having a tantrum because she is being arrested. It was a joke and clearly not worth the price we paid, overpriced, overrated and underwhelming. I do not recommend this resort to a single person, not even someone I am not fond of. We stayed in harbor village. At first glance the villa was beautiful. However, we called for cockroaches three different times. Upon checking in there was hair in the bathroom and kitchen indicating poor/minimal cleaning between guests. Both the master bathroom sinks were clogged. The outdoor furniture was so dilapidated you could not use two of the chairs. The hallway walls were filthy and every door in the villa had pealing paint. My husband I tried 3 times to contact management. We never received a phone call back. For the price we paid to stay in a villa we certainly expected a callback when reporting cockroaches in our room at a minimum. The stay at Hawks Cay was significantly more expensive than taking three children to Disney world for a a week (including meals!). I would not spend my money again at this resort. read more

Hawk's Cay is one of those places that have everything you could need in one place. You never need to leave! It's a resort that offers cottage rentals or main house rental homes. The pool area boasts a tiki bar with delicious drinks and a restaurant with an amazing breakfast buffet. For $25 you can have a much as you like. The coffee is excellent. The food included your usual egg, bacon, sausage, pancakes, omlettes and fruit. But they also have watermelon juice shots, smoked salmon, and other daily specials. There is a dolphin encounter, marina, dive shop, snorkle excursion, dive and fishing charter, and boat slips. You can also rent kayaks and fish from the shore. If you travel towards the end of the year and are military they give you great rates and free perks for your service. It's an excellent hotel that supports and honors its veterans. read more

Everything at the resort took an extremely long wait time.. from checking in.. ordering food and drinks.. the market line to order breakfast was 30 people long. At a nice resort everything is supposed to be easy and laid back and instead it was an inconvenience. The most disappointing part was when we checked in at 5PM, we discovered there were zero pillows on the two queen beds in our room. We called to request 4 pillows and they said they would bring them right over. We left the hotel room around 6 to head out for the evening, returning around midnight, to find that pillows were never sent. We called the front desk and the woman who answered was extremely rude, stating it would impossible for her to find four pillows but that she can MAYBE find us two. How does a hotel that we spent $300/night with the resort fee not have pillows for their guests? Thirty minutes later we were finally brought two pillows. The rumors around the resort were that the staff was only at 50% capacity. While the resort was at 88% capacity for guests. A high end hotel such as Hawks Cay should be staffed with the appropriate amount of staff. This resort is definitely not a place I would recommend to others and I do not plan on visiting in the future. read more

The staff here are AMAZING! So friendly and super-helpful. Especially TERRY in the bar at Sixty-One Prime. OpenTable allowed us to book a reservation. BUT the restaurant was NOT OPEN!! We had our adult children and our grandchildren here for a wedding event after dinner on site. The bartender, TERRY, was there, and instead of turning us away because the restaurant was closed, he set us a table for 6 away from the bar and offered us a bar menu. Terry was AWESOME and he went above and beyond to help us as our daughter and son-in-law are in a wedding party event tonight at the resort. He SAVED our evening and his service was INCREDIBLE. We give him 100 stars on a scale of 10. So amazing and truly appreciated. We love this resort and will absolutely be back!! Every staff member here has been exceptional. read more

I haven't been to Hawk's Cay in about 25 years. It just underwent a huge remodeling after Hurricane Irma and I had very high hopes. The place it's self was very pretty and the majority of the staff was very friendly. However, it was not ready to fully open and should have waited till it was fully staffed and ready for its opening weekend. The gentlemen I had serving me by the beach on Saturday was my server at dinner at the Angler & Ale. (Poor guy must have been exhausted). The floor I stayed on was "finished" the day before I arrived and wasn't really finished if you asked me. The balconies were still being worked on and the rooms were not properly prepared. We didn't have phones in the rooms or enough towels. My mother-in-laws room had tape and buckets on the balcony and an ac unit that stopped working within hours of her arrival. The restaurants were hit or miss. Our breakfast buffet at the Marketplace was great. Our dinner at the Marketplace was so bad I didn't even eat. I promise though it wasn't all bad. The Dolphin Discovery was amazing!!! The inner child in me - loved it. The Coral Cay and pirate ship for the kids was amazing!!! My two year old had the best time. Hawk's Cay has potential to be great. But needs to step up its game. read more

First the good things: Property was beautiful. We enjoyed walking the docks and looking at the different fish hanging out. We loved having 2 balconies - one off living room, one off "master" bedroom. Sadly our sunset view was blocked by the Marina Dolphin Experience was fun for our boys, but the space the 4 dolphins live in is abysmal. I felt guilty for contributing to their captivity after I saw how small their space really was. The lagoon was fun, but there was no middle platform like they show in the pics, and the guy being out there to rent paddleboardsd/kayas from was hit or miss. The edge of the lagoon is concrete/super rocky and painful without some kind of shoe on. We enjoyed using the bikes, but there's really no "safe" place to ride if you want to see literally anything. You're in the road. With kids thats not exactly comforting. There's also a lot of construction happening on the island so big trucks were frequent when we were out. We had to pull off the road every few minutes to let them buy. Scenery was beautiful though. Now the reality: While they provide you with a full kitchen, they don't provide you with a full kitchen. We had to use bathroom towels to pull hot pans from the oven/use as hand towels, and washcloths as dishrags. There's also no salt/pepper. They claim you can purchase these items from the gift shop; you cannot. Also, why am *I* supplying your hotel with basic necessities? They also don't tell you they don't provide Coffee *or* filters. They claim you can purchase these items in the gift shop; you cannot. No ice either. There's an ice maker in the freezer, but no ice can be made. I never located a communal ice machine either, so again, if we wanted ice, we had to drive *back* to Marathon. Again. This is 20 minutes each way. Gets really old. They also don't provide anything for you to clean your space with. We had to purchase our own counter wipes, or live in filth from food prep and normal daily use. The 4th day "cleaning" was really just beds being made up. The bathrooms weren't touched. The kitchen wasn't touched. The tables weren't wiped off. And having nothing to clean them with ourselves, they got pretty gross. We had to drive to Marathon everytime we discovered something else wasn't provided, that you'd absolutely expect in a "luxury resort" and for the amount you're paying. Again, that gets old. There are no towels at the sunset village pool. They also don't tell you this, so my kids had to wrap up in used towels left there (it was a windy/chilly night, so it was that or they froze on the way back to the room). This was very frustrating as my options were to leave my kids in the pool alone to acquire towels, because my husband was off buying more things the resort neglected to provide - mind you, i had no idea where anything was at this point either. When I called to find out, I was told you have to get them from the main lodge - which is a solid 10 minute walk from sunset village. I later learned you can get them at Coral Cay as well. Seems staff isn't well versed on locations of items in any capacity. Food at the restaurants was so expensive. Our family of 4 was well over $100 each meal - without drinks. There are no other options on the island, either. You have to drive to Marathon if you want something else. We only ate out once a day, but it adds up quick. Also, $18 for a margarita? Seriously. We don't even pay that at the Waldorf in Orlando, and that's the freakin' Waldorf. They tell you they need your room number for everything - to add it to your "folio". We never charge things to the room, having been burned on this before. Last day, over $350 worth of charges to our room. We spent over an hour getting that figured out. We had planned on spending that time walking the old bridge with our boys. Instead we spent it arguing with front desk and having them pull the receipts for the charges. Clearly, not our signatures, let alone our NAME. They don't cross reference your room number with your last name - this should be a no-brainer when charging things to rooms. OMG the beds are awful. No-one slept well. The bathrooms are so tiny. I tried to take an epsom soak after a long day, I honest to god couldn't get my legs all the way wet in the tub. I'm not a large person. I don't think my 8 y/o could have even had an adequate bath. The living room furniture, while nice looking, was also terribly uncomfortable. There's only one end table too. I noticed this in the bedrooms as well - only one nightstand. The rooms aren't big enough for 2, if you can imagine that. I even tried to pull out the sofa bed to see if that was any better than the actual bed. Good god I'm glad we didn't have a genuine need for it. It was so bad. All in all, we made the best of our trip and had fun. But we won't be back to this resort, I can tell you that much. You'd be better off at an all-inclusive and will definitely spend less $$$$. read more

What a wonderful resort! We're Floridians that feel a million miles away at this paradise resort. Every staff person we've talked to has been/is incredibly friendly and accommodating. We're here for a birthday stay-cation. My daughter wanted pool, sun, relaxation and we got it all here! Love the tranquility pool. No noisy kids so defiantly relaxing. For her bday that brought her a huge fruit platter and a bucket of sodas! What a nice surprise! Thank you' The room is a perfect size for 3. 2 comfortable queen beds, nice size bathroom, and a quiet end of the hall. Exactly what we wanted. The food from the grill was very good. The watermelon cucumber salad was delicious. The burger cooked perfectly and mahi sandwich was excellent. Usually pool side grills are blah, not this one! I heard others say the wings were good too. This place is great especially if you are taking the family. We have done it as a couple and again with the family. There is no shortage of things to do. 5 pools,putput,kids activity center,pirate cove,basketball court,volleyball court,ping pong,bikes you can ride and so on. If you go there and find nothing to do. Then you just are not looking. Not to mention the tiki bar and many on site places to eat. Rooms are clean and staff is friendly. Will go back for a third time hopefully soon. read more

I am give this review because of house keeping and front desk.My husband rented a villa we stood sunset village . Upon arriving we were running late so I made a call to let them know, in doing so the reservation Was in my sons name because it was a surprise for my 50th birthday. The front desk worker was rude she was so nasty she hung up. I had to call bk and then ask for a manger, I was told Kim Green but she never once came to the phone , never called me bk and I never spoke to her. Than I was transfer all over the place . That was not fun! I finally get Maggie front desk manager and I look up an email for a Tiffany who is I believe over all, well I thought that was all I would I counter but nope we cked in at 10 pm to find a filthy disgusting vila blood on the sheets, dishes were dirty, refrigerator was disgusting dust was so thick on the fans , screen on porch had holes, blinds in second bedroom was dirty and blinds were broken. The restaurant was awesome the food was amazing , the service was fantastic.Georgina and Charlie among all fantastic ! The dolphins were great, but not long enough for the money, my husband wanted to do another thing over and they would not let him, the videos were very hard to get, once you pay they don't give a shit to help. I asked for Tyler the next day also sent an mail requesting him to reach out no response. I have pictures and emails. We had a wonderful stay. Everyone is so friendly. Jason is the bartender at the adult pool bar. He was fantastic!!! Grab a drink from him for sure. Also, Donny at the kayak and paddle boards is super friendly and kind. He always greeted us with a smile. We enjoyed the lagoon and played a bit of pickleball. We highly recommend taking out the boat charter, Snapshot. Andrew and Nick put us on lots of fish! We even got a 30+ pound cobia. We caught way more than we could eat. I should have researched this place before we booked it for a vet vacation CE. You are pretty much isolated here with only about three restaurant choices. There was no housekeeping for four days straight. We had to ask for towels every single day. No coffee or water available in the lobby. The pools and spa close at sunset which was 5:30 . Extremely overpriced for the amenities provided. The gym didn't even open until 7am and was offsite up the road. Would not stay here again. Would not recommend. You are better off to stay closer to Islamorada where there is a lot of activity and tons of choices for food. read more

My wife, kids and I stayed at the Hawks Cay Resort 2 years ago. While there, my wife took a picture near the resort through the windshield of the car, bugs and all. She loves the picture and I wanted to make a large wall poster of it for her office for Christmas, minus the bugs. Chris Dorsey and Jimmy Jehle spent several days retaking the picture for me when they has some free time. They forwarded a beautiful high definition picture which will make my wife very happy to see. It's not it what it used to be 3 years ago and definitely not worth $400 a night. We called the front desk for shampoo 4 times. Finally had to go to the front desk to complain. They delivered half used bottles from the spa which is closed. The rooms have seen better days. Our refrigerator didn't work. The main pool was warm and milky. We stayed in a villa and It was awesome, the whole resort is gorgeous! My only complaint would be that my boyfriend left about 4 t shirts and 2 pairs of pants in the closet at our villa and when we were driving back to Fort Lauderdale we called the resort and they claimed nothing was left when we're both 100% positive he did so he thinks they may have stolen his clothes but other than that I loved it! Shower had a bar of used soap in it (not even cleaned between guest???) Paid $68 dollars for refillable drink cups and both drink machines were "broke" the entire stay. They should have refunded our money or told us before purchase their machines were out of order. Toilet paper hold hanging off the wall, with multiple patches around it from prior detachments with poor attempts to patch the wall. The restaurant for dinner was closed the entire time, only bar food available unless you left the resort. The remote control was missing the back, batteries fall out. Mattress very worn and uncomfortable. Asked to speak with a manger who was unhelpful to resolve any issues or concerns, but offered me and my husband a room with bunks if we wanted a different room. SAVE your time and SAVE your money and stay at a regular chain hotel with more caring staff, and more amenities than this resort. $1963.00 for a terrible 4 night vacation. read more

We stayed at Hawks Cay for 1 week for a conference. The service we received was AMAZING. We hung out by the Tiki Bar and Adult pool (Oasis Cay) the majority of our time. The food was great and Radar (the waiter) went above and beyond. He was extremely attentive, friendly to not only us but the rest of the people at the resort! This resort is horrible. It looks great on the website and in the lobby...but that is a distraction from what's actually going on there. The food is way overpriced, and not good!! We paid $96 for 3 burnt cheeseburgers and 5 cold conch fritters. We also paid over $8 for 2 small and watered down cokes, and $84 for a breakfast buffet that I could have gotten for free at a holiday inn! The rooms are filthy, bugs, appliances that don't work, carpet that appeared to have never been vacuumed. Then they have the nerve to charge a $42/day for crappy WiFi, cold swimming pools, beat up paddle boards, and poolside bathrooms with a toilet covered in fecal matter and others with no toilet paper!!! Many of The employees could care less and were rude. Save your money and go to one of the many other resorts. Hawks Cay is need of a deep cleaning and renovation if they have the audacity to charge their guests their ridiculous fees!!! read more

Nice property for families with kids. The staff is fairly laid back, which is nice and bad. On the one hand, the staff is friendly and kid-friendly. On the other hand, the front desk seemed to find it funny to not follow through with promises. For instance, and only just one of a few examples, we asked for two extra towels at check-in (the room comes with two towels, we had kids so one for each person) - I even tipped $20 in advance. We asked again that evening, called down to ask, and then the next morning. "Yes" was always the answer, but never sent. We finally had to take two from the pool area. That stated, people with kids love the place and you'll probably be happy if you go with kids. read more

Took the family here the week between Christmas and New Years, This was our first trip to the keys and our first long distant trip with our 3 teenage sons. Hawks Cay is located about the mid-way point in the Florida Key. I had been told it's probably the nicest resort in the Keys...and they were probably right! We stayed in the Sunset Villas which is probably the furthest accommodations from the main buildings. Although there is a shuttle, it's an easy, 10 minute walk over there. The villa (townhouse) had 2 bedrooms upstairs, and a living room and full kitchen downstairs. It had spacious decks in the rear upstairs and down with nice views of the water. There is a very nice pool in the Sunset Villa area that was rarely crowded. My only complaint...the wi-fi didn't really work. Tip- visit the grocery store on your way down and pick up some snacks, food & drinks. You'll save some $$$. The main building had a main lobby (check in/out) , several restaurants, and gift shop. Outside the main building is a large pool and the lagoon. The lagoon seems to be the main area to hang out and there is a man made "beach". I wasn't aware of it but, there aren't a lot of beaches in the Keys! There is a bar/restaurant buy the lagoon & pool. Overall, a very nice setting. The Dolphin Connection is next to this area and you can see the dolphins swimming around.The entire staff was very polite and helpful. From the restaurant staff to the shuttle drivers, they were great. There is marina area too. They run about a dozen charter boats out of there.You can walk right on the dock and check out the boats. The dock side store is kind of cool too. We ate at the resort a few times. Good food but a bit pricey, but that was to be expected. We traveled to a couple different restaurants up and down the keys. There is plenty of excellent places to eat in the keys. Key West is about a hour drive to the south so it's an easy day trip. Overall, this place has everything, for all ages. My teenagers weren't bored and my wife and I really enjoyed it. read more

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! We absolutely loved it! The staff was VERY friendly and always helpful! I can't remember everyone's names but Valesia (hope I got that right, sorry if I didn't) from Peru at check-in was great and so were the other girls we met by the check-in desks. Doormen/valet guys always greeting helping to open door for you. Some of the staff I remember was Dylan & Taneesha (from Jamaica) at the Beach Grill Tiki Bar. Both were very attentive, quick, and friendly. Room-service lady (feel bad I forgot her name, think it was Marjorie but not sure) was excellent, she even called our room since we had the no-wake-zone out, and asked if we needed extra towels, coffee, etc! Always smiling when we saw her. The tall Haitian guy at the lagoon's paddle boarding/kayak rental, man that guy was excellent! Super friendly and he's making sure if it's too busy that people are within their allotted 30 mins rental. I wasn't in a hurry so I had no problem waiting. The staff at the Ocean buffet, the gift shops, the baristas, the bartenders, were also very friendly, courteous, and attentive. During our entire stay I could see how hard EVERYONE of them was working, from their initial staff meetings in the morning, to seeing them hustle through the crowds to take & deliver guest's orders, to even seeing the chef walk back & forth from one end to the other with his whole chef outfit, mind you in that hot weather! I'm telling you the staff is amazing! There was so much to do and see at Hawks Cay there's no need to go out anywhere else (another key) while you are staying there. We also got to experience the Dolphin Connection and again (they're that good) staff there was amazing. One of the girls that gave us the initial meet was very upbeat, super friendly, knowledgeable, and you could tell she loves her job! Our trainer for the session was Nicole, excellent! From the start she was very upbeat showing us what we needed to do with our hands and on the platform while introducing all of the 5 beautiful male bottlenose dolphins! We sure learned a lot more from dolphins! The experience itself was amazing! Last but not least, the tram driver was excellent! We told him it was our first time at Hawks Cay and we just hopped on to take a tour and without asking he told us about all the different areas! Was very helpful and friendly! I'm sorry if I'm forgetting anyone but feel everyone at the resort should be recognized! We don't have small kids (all college kids) and this place is excellent for families with small kids! We enjoyed watching them have such a great time even kicking and screaming was enjoying to watch! They do have an adult pool (tranquility area) for those that prefer to avoid the noise. We tried it once, was too boring, at least for me. LOL! Sorry I did prefer were the action was at the main pool. Oh oh now I remember, this note is for parents and managements as well. We did go over to the pirate kiddie section to check it out, and we were eaten alive by mosquitoes. So parents, make sure to bring mosquito repellent or something. Hope staff can do something about that, because it was pretty bad for us and we were only there for about 15 mins. Hawk's Kay markets inself as the premier resort in the Keys. They charge you like a top end resort. The problem is that they don't always deliver. They charge you a premium for parking (but they won't park your boat trailer) They charge you for Wi-Fi (that doesn't work in the Fitness Center). They charge you for the fitness center ( Pretty limited weight and machine options and a broken elliptical). They promote their on-site ammeneties. Just got back to Chicago after an amazing 12 nights in Duck Key at Hawks Cay. We actually extended our vacation because we loved this resort, the location, the views, everything. Lobby was great, got a drink while we waited for our villa (we got in early) and sat on the front porch area. Surprised to read the other reviews with low ratings, so let me help clarify them here. Family Stay: Get a villa. We stayed in a 3-Bedroom villa which was perfect for the size of our family. It's worth the extra money, especially to have a kitchen, washer/dryer, etc. We faced the marina, Angler and Ale, and it was fun to sit on the back porch and watch the boats come in. Pirate Ship Pool: Yes, this is not a pool technically, but it was comforting to know that my kids, who are young, could play there and although we still had to watch them, the worry about them being in pools with deeper water wasn't a worry at this pool. They had the time of their life along with other kids playing there. Plenty of chairs to lounge in and get some sun while the kids play. Other pools: The main pool with two hot tubs, Tiki Bar, and pool side service is great. The salt water lagoon is right behind it and it was too cold for us, but looked like there was good water activities to do. Walked over the tranquility pool that's Adults Only/21 and over and it was peaceful there, but we had kids, so we did not go there. Another pool was the Sunset Pool on the other end of the resort, but again, we pretty much stayed on the main resort grounds. Staff: hands down some of the nicest people we have met at a resort. Everyone was accommodating, helped us with everything from getting us packaging tape to send our luggage back home, to changing the sheets for us a lot (young kids), helping us at the front desk with all requests, morning coffee was always great, pool service was excellent, no complaints here. Dolphin Experience: such a cool thing to have at a resort. My young son and I had a morning routine, see the dolphins, which you can easily view from a small area by the salt water lagoon and then get the morning coffee from the gift shop (Starbucks). We didn't get to do it this trip, but we will be back, so next time. Things to do: drive south to Key West for a day or two, lots to do, search "Cruise Ship Schedule Key West" and try to go on a day when no ships are there. It will still be busy, but it's a must do. Have a drink at Sloppy Joes, visit Ernest Hemingway's house (do the guided tour if you can), stop at Key West Pottery around the corner, cool hand made pieces, large coffee mugs, do the photo at the southern most point and finally every night at sunset, there is vendors, street artists at Mallory Square for a small fest to watch the sun set, again, a must do. Islamorada: Two things to do here 1) Visit the Islamorada Beer Co., do a tasting, get a growler of their 2 ale. They also sell it at local supermarkets and gas stations, my new favorite beer. 2) Visit the Moorings Village and Spa and the Beach Bar next to it. Amazing place to see, eat, drink, relax. And the set of the B&B for Netflix's Bloodline. They have a full moon party whenever there is a full moon, we went, it was unreal and a great way to end our trip. In conclusion, if you are a family with kids, Hawks Cay is unreal, get a villa, you won't be disappointed. I can't speak to staying here as someone traveling without kids, but if we did, tranquility pool and poolside service would work for us all day long. It feels like the resort is smack in the middle of the Keys, and off the main drag, away from the tourist shops. It was truly paradise and we look forward to returning again. Yes, the TV is not HD, ok, but you aren't there to watch TV, the keys are a great place to relax and escape the real world, enjoy. read more

So I just got back from Hawks Cay Resort last week and it's was really a great time. There's a few reasons why it get 4 stars however I would really put it around 3.8 or so. It was just me and my husband and we had one of the rooms with a private ground floor deck and we were on the side of hotel with the adult only pool. The deck had boards that we recently replaced but there were not stained to match yet. Another 10 mins of work and it would of looks so much better. There was also a few cigarettes butts tucked into the corner on the deck that could easily be seen and cleaned up but the staff must have missed them. On the positive note, there were a lot really good things about our stay too. To start, The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was very nice, simple but luxurious. The bathroom was really nice, double sink, very nice large shower with a bench, and private toilet room (without a private light switch which is annoying cuz my husband would turn it off to be a jerk while I was in there). There furniture was nice and layout was nice. The pools were very nice also and I love that there is an adult only pool. The main pool is awesome too but it is filled with kids which I don't mind at all because u couldn't hear it all from the adult pool but I will definitely bring my kids back here. Very very kid friendly. Then the lagoon! The lagoon it awesome! There are not many beaches in the keys and this resort solved it by building there own. It really increases the tropical feel that we all want and paid for. Last but not least, the dolphin center right is the mix of the resort is awesome. At any time u can just go hang out and watch them. I did one of the dolphin activities and had an awesome time. Very cool that it's on site. Ok 1 more thing... The location in the keys is awesome also. Right between marathon and Islamorada so if ur like us and like to explore its really nice cuz u have everything from restaurants to great shopping all within a few miles.. Writing this review as I will be checking out tomorrow morning. I cannot speak more highly of the staff. Polite and helpful throughout. The outdoor amenities are five star quality as was the staff at the Tiki Bar. The breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired considering the price but again, the staff was just amazing. The kids loved the Dolphin Encounter and the trainers were thrilled to answer all our questions thoughtfully. concerns as to the small confined areas the dolphins are kept in were answered knowledgeably and you could tell that they are absolutely devoted to these magical creatures. The reason I cannot give this resort a five star rating is the room service. No room service to be had and somehow this resort feels they cannot provide soap bars or bottles of shampoo/rinse. They use dispensers with unknown products and worse, way worse .... They were empty! The a/c unit as well as a few of our family's were not cooling properly. A resort of this caliber can do better and should. read more
