Scammers!! Do not purchase a vehicle from this place!! I had a very disappointing experience with Hawthorne Auto Square. I purchased (financed through my own bank- so basically purchased the car out right) a vehicle less than 30 days ago that began shutting off while driving, which is a serious safety issue. When I brought it back, they claimed nothing was wrong and failed to provide any written diagnostic report--even after saying one existed. When they agreed to unwind the deal, things got worse. I was asked to sign a bill of sale with no amount listed, which is completely unacceptable. There was also no clear written confirmation that my loan would be fully paid off. To make matters worse, the general manager escalated the situation by having employees call the police during what was simply a customer dispute. I was calm, cooperative, and just trying to resolve the issue. Overall, there was a lack of transparency, professionalism, and accountability. I would strongly advise others to proceed with caution when dealing with this dealership. Jimmy, the GM, does not know how to manage a business or deal with customers. I have filed complaints with the dmv, bbb, California attorney general and the federal trade commission. After reading the reviews (I should have done this first), this place needs to be stopped. Terrible service. If I could give negative stars i would. They did the bare minimum on the fixes that they had to do prior to getting the car. The floor is changed and not securely laid down properly. The interior door pull pocket cap was never replaced. The center council was on its last legs and on top of that; don't have a functioning horn since receiving said car but since my grandmother went over the thousand miles by 85 they turned me around at the door. Obviously buying a used car there's going to be minor issues, but once those minor issues start adding up to larger issues, it becomes a problem. terrible terrible terrible :/ misleading liars. read more

My experience was terrible I don't like the fact they are to demanding, wanting you to keep and have full coverage. They recommend places and when you change the coverage or cancel they notify the Carlot so they can repo the car! I kept insurance and paid the car up months ahead. Now they offer a warranty, only issue I ever had was the break shoes n which they said they would fix! Brought the car back the started talking about they not doing it even with warranty cus I drove the car 1000 miles ok bet ! At this point I knew what type of time they was on. We drove an hour based on that promise. When we arrived, they had us sitting on hard plastic chairs (felt like prison chairs) for over 30 minutes. No one came to help us. If you buy car here, make you take to get service, bought a car from here a few months ago. Had it less then 7000 miles. Took it to get an oil change, had to major axle links, oil. Have a major oil linkage in the car. 3 months didn't do this, they are saying I should of taken it to get service, within to days. One, I just used all my money for the car, two , I should of at least been told the issue of the car. But I have to use my warranty now, because of this. 7$ dollars to process a payment.
