I wish I wouldn't have wasted my time going to all of those big business dealerships and I regret allowing all of those hard inquiries just to be coerced into financing a small car that didn't meet my families needs, at a very high interest rate that would have only been profitable to the wallets of the dealership and bank. If more dealerships possessed the customer value that Hawthorne Auto Sales has and saw their customers as actual people and not just as profit with a score over their head more satisfied customers would be thankful that their deal worked in the benefit of them as the buyer. Let me start by saying i HATE car shopping. I just hate the whole process and dealing with salespeople in general. But I can't find the words to explain what a great time i had at Hawthorne Auto Square . From the moment Moody (the Finance Manager) called me (i submitted for information on a car) i felt so comfortable like i was talking to a family member or long time friend. He really made me feel at ease and answered every single one of my question. I wasn't even planning to purchase right away since i had gotten several other calls from other dealerships trying to earn my business. They all pretty much said the same thing "don't worry about the price just come down" i'm like how am i not worried about the price? That's why submitted for more information....common sense. Anywho back to Moody . After he answered all my questions he told me was gonna text me his info and told me to just text him or call him when i was ready (since I repeatedly told him i was not buying right away). I hang up and soon after i get a txt with the address of the dealership and some quick information about the car and he also sent me pictures of the car i was interested in. I text him back saying thank you. A day later i got a call from a different dealership and another salesperson sounded like a robot with the normal annoying sales pitch. At that point i said i need Moody! There was nobody else that even compared to the way he treated me over the phone. I made an appointment with him shortly after (even though i had told myself i would wait but i wanted to give Moody the sale). Long story short the experience at the dealership was just how i imagined it after the great phone communication. Moody was great and we talked about so much stuff (i think 80% of our talk was about our lives/random stuff and the rest about the car) and it was just wonderful and made the time pass by so quick while i was waiting for finance. Worst horrible experience in my entire life . I have had bad luck in life as far as my credit being ruined by companies who lie to get you to buy things . Well when I found Hawthorne Auto Square I though I'd found , the company who would help me . I explained to the salesman that I was on a budget and I couldn't pay more than 400$ a month so I put 3 k down for a car they choose for me I didn't get any say in what car I get . So in order to get my payment down they have u pay more monthly for a few month in order to get your monthly payment down . Turns out that's a lie I payed my car for 10 months 450 and never got my payments down so after a few months of paying 450 I wasn't able to pay that amount any more . Guess what they didn't care they said it was my fault I didn't read the fine print and there right it is my fault . But shame on the company for abusing and using people to make money they live of repos and selling you cars that don't work I invested 500$ to fix the car after just 4 months of having it . And I got my car d Repo on Christmas Day my kids will never forget the horrible Christmas Hawthorne ruined over one missed payment they repossessed my car . Thank you Hawthorne for making things harder in life . I have no hate and no anger towards the company but I hope this message will help people not fall for there lies read the fine print take a mechanic to see the car . "I recently visited Hawthorne Auto Square while car shopping for my son. Unfortunately, the level of customer service did not meet my expectations for a professional dealership experience. While test driving a vehicle I was interested in, I was disappointed to learn it had already been sold to another buyer without informing me during our test drive. The sales representatives also seemed distracted, joking and laughing amongst themselves instead of focusing on assisting customers. I spoke with the general manager to express my concerns. However, rather than acknowledging the issues or apologizing, he simply stated "noted" and did not provide any meaningful response. Part of running a successful business involves taking customer feedback seriously and using it as an opportunity for improvement. The dismissive response from management gave the impression that Hawthorne Auto Square is not committed to addressing service shortfalls. As someone looking to make a major purchase, I want to feel confident the dealership has my best interests in mind and is willing to address customer service problems professionally. The unprofessionalism I encountered at multiple levels would make me hesitant to recommend Hawthorne Auto Square to others. While every visit cannot be perfect, a little extra effort to demonstrate care, transparency and focus on the customer would go a long way towards building trust and loyalty. I first filled out an application online, then I read these yelp reviews, I thought to myself " I knew this deal sounded too good to be true!" The next day I received a phone call from Sean, one of the finance managers. We chatted a little and then I said I had to gather some money, and he said ok well when ever you are ready my name is Sean I'll be here. I expected a rude response but he was pleasant to talk to. My daughter and I made our way there just to see and we were greeted by Leo who was very knowledgeable and helpful. It was kind of like looking at cars with my brother or a friend not pushy and gave his honest opinion. I AM so happy I walked on that lot. I got a 2009 Traverse with 22,000 miles on it!!! Yes that's right. I'm not missing any zeros! It is awesome. The buying process was easy and I ran into a few problems due to my credit (not very good) but Sean and the boss man worked it out for me! They went over each form I signed diligently and answered all my questions. I kept going over the forms looking for the smaller than small print where I would catch them and the reviews would be right but there are no surprises! The 5 month program is the best! I'm not sure if all the other reviews are about this same dealership.. so if you are in need of a car please tell them Nadia sent you!!! I get $200 of my car note! (What! If I could give zero stars, I would. Avoid Hawthorne Auto Square at all costs unless you want your time completely wasted and your energy totally drained. ​From the moment you walk in, the environment is overwhelmingly negative. The salespeople who show you the cars are completely clueless--they have absolutely zero knowledge about the glaring, obvious defects and mechanical issues right in front of them. If you expect better from the management, think again. The managers are outright rude, dismissive, and unapologetically unprofessional. ​But the absolute biggest joke is their hypocrisy regarding financing. They will interrogate you with highly unprofessional and borderline offensive questions about your credit, passing the buck and claiming "the lending bank requires it." The irony? They do this while you are literally sitting under their giant sign that promises: "Bad credit? No worries, we get you approved in 5 minutes." It's pure false advertising. ​You go in hoping to do business, but you leave completely empty-handed, frustrated, and mentally exhausted from dealing with their staff. The only the way this place could improve would be to close for good. This is the worst possible place ever to purchase a vehicle. I purchased a 2016 vehicle from them and after 2 years of paying my payments with no issues when it was time to renew my insurance I got only the state required law liability insurance coverage they blocked me from paying my car payments they wouldn't even take it in person. So when speaking to these people and informing them that I don't need full coverage on a old ass car they proceeded to tell me well that's what type of coverage they want on the car and I wouldn't be able to pay my car payment until it's changed. So after 3 months of back and forth they sneak up take my car and then put it on my credit as a repo as if I was refusing to pay them the nerve. I don't know about anybody else but I have never heard of any car dealer not wanting their monthly car payments over something little as insurance coverage. This place is horrible I don't recommend anyone going here for a car. Take your money to respectful auto dealer this place is the epitome of disrespectful. DON'T SO IT!!! I want to give this dealership a shout out. I just moved back to California and was in need of a good reliable car. I was recommended to this dealership by a family member, and I'm so glad I was. From the very beginning they took complete care of me. Mohamed is sales is amazing. I thought I couldn't get a car due to my credit but he was like a blessing. He let me know from the start that I was in good hands. He kept in contact with me and showed me great cars to choose from. Fabian is the best ever. He made me as I was a part of his own family. He picked me up from the train station and helped me with getting down to the dealership. He went over and beyond to make sure that I was happy. I'd just purchased my 4th vehicle yesterday with this company within the last almost 20 years. They NEVER disappoint. The are professional, efficient and very friendly. I walked in and told my sales rep Eljon exactly what I wanted, was willing to spend and he successfully found exactly what I was looking for within my budget. Very friendly, and helpful. My finance rep Luis was amazing. He kept me within my budget. He didn't try to over sell me, got my paperwork work done in record time. Also, very professional and friendly. Alex the manager was amazing. He helped make sure that I was satisfied and that things were handled in a professional and timely manner. Again, very professional and friendly. I had such an amazing experience at Hawthorne Auto Square today. I went in to purchase a Mercedes, and 2 of their employees, Tony and Ty, were beyond courteous and helpful. They explained all the features of the car to me. They were very polite, and didn't try to just sell me a car; they treated me with respect, and took time to listen to my needs and meet them accurately and pleasantly. They made me feel comfortable, and what I liked the most was that during the payment process, they were very willing to work with me since I have recently begun to establish my credit, and wanted to put a down payment for the amazing Mercedes that I wanted. Even though I am young, they still treated me with courtesy and respect, and I left extremely satisfied, and beyond happy and excited that I was an owner of a fantastic Mercedes. I bought a car in 2017. I was told that I could exchange after 18 months without having to pay a down payment. When I went to change my car, they wanted me to give $ 6,000. I did not buy and asked to give me the value to pay off my vehicle. I was told it was $ 9,500 for that. I offered the value of 8,500. Mr Jimmy accepted and asked to carry the check. When I arrived with the payment, he told me that he would not accept and that I should pay $ 9,000. Made me an idiot. Mr. Jimmy is the worst pro I know. Gives a bad service to your customer. You only care when you buy your vehicle, because then you become just one more for that company. Not suitable for anyone else and never spent a dollar in this store again.
