Dined in at this spot with my family for dinner on Friday 8/11 and we had a great experience. We ordered two regular slices, fried calamari, spaghetti & meatballs and spaghetti with meat sauce. Delicious! Everything was hot, fresh and had great flavor. Portions were also generous. I'm from Brooklyn, NY and we definitely have access to great Italian food so I was skeptical at first, but they definitely delivered! The young man who took our order and served us was also very kind and attentive. If I'm ever back in that area this pizzeria is definitely a spot I would be hitting up again. read more

This pizza is banging. I don't understand why there are only 2.5 stars. I've lived in NYC most of my adult life and Hawthorne pizza is as good as it gets. I've had most of their menu, and it's all been fantastic. Also, very reasonably priced. Also also, it's always been very consistent pizza. We flew in from California today, and asked the hotel registration employee for a recommendation for pizza. He said Hawthorne Pizzeria is good; were so glad that we went there; the crust was thin and crunchy, and the sauce was amazingly delicious. Also, the son of the owner helped us back out of the parking spot without being asked. A great place for pizza!!! read more

Possibly the worst pizza and calzone I have ever eaten! I ordered a meatball parm wedge from here to-go last night (YES! Thank you for calling them a wedge! I hate saying hoagie -_- I refuse) and it was really tasty. It wasn't anything that knocked my socks off....but it was really good. It had a nice atmosphere, plenty of tables for eat-in delivery, and was a bump up from a normal "delivery only" pizza place. They had a lot of specials and a ton of different options. One thing that was really awesome - you could order online, or even on their mobile site, and you could go all out in customizing your meal (extra peppers, onions, prosciutto, etc.). For a price of course, but at least the option is there! I will definitely be back - thanks for a great experience. read more

Whoever is making the pizza just doesn't care. Ordered Sicilian pie twice only to find that it's splits across the entire center. We Figured out they must be putting two portions of dough together to get it large enough to be a Sicilian size. Will not order again even though the delivery guy was super nice! read more

My job has been ordering from Hawthorne for YEARS practically every day of the week. Now, we place a large order, they forget 2 main items.. not like ketchup or a fork, they forget a WHOLE order of chicken fingers and someone ordered a chef salad and all they sent us was lettuce, 2 tomato slices and 3 cucumber slices. When we call, their response is "we're busy". Never once said sorry or "we're sending the items" we PAID for. So now not only did my coworkers have NO lunch but they are out of their money. This is not the first time this has happened. It's disappointing that they don't accommodate loyal customers that as soon as they see our number, they know exactly where to go and who's name to put on the order. Customer service gets a giant F. I got off work quite late yesterday, and I was starving! I saw the Pizzeria sign, and though I'll give it a go. I had the meatballs wedge which was surprisingly good. It was quite cheap, and definitely did the job. They put tons of cheese in it, which is a huge plus in my opinion, and there was a nice amount of sauce and meat. Don't come here. Two reasons: 1. The pizza tastes like the garbage you might get from a mall kiosk in the Midwest. This is the worst pizza I've ever had, short of actual pizza from a mall kiosk in the Midwest. 2. I had ordered three plain slices; the guy charged me $9. When I said "really? you charge 3 bucks a slice? A slice in the city is like $2.50." he replied with a shrug, "Westchester. More money." Then he made that obnoxious "money" symbol, where you rub your thumb across the rest of your fingers. Wow. Really? Here's the thing, my friend. It doesn't matter that people in Westchester have more money to spend, or whatever your point was with that obnoxious comment. The issue here is that your pizza is so terrible that it's worse than those dollar slice joints in Midtown, so it doesn't DESERVE $3. If you're gonna charge so much for a slice, at least make a good slice. You failed miserably on that front. Between the honestly bad pizza and the terribly obnoxious attitude they have, I'll never go here again. And you shouldn't either. read more

I hate to be the first and only person reviewing this place, but here goes. I officially rename this joint "Hit or Miss Pizza". Since it's the pizza place that's closest to my work, I had been going here for years. And every time, it was like gambling. Am I going to get a good slice, or a crappy slice?? I think, unfortunately, crappy was more common. The service was good, the place is usually clean, but the pizza quality was very inconsistent. If it was not close to my parents house Id never eat here. We get a pie delivered every now and then. The food is ok. Our other go to's at the place are the Herod again just ok. Apps are a waste, the house salad dressing a vinagery mess and the staff a real pack of charmers. Don't expect much. read more

They completely messed up my order and charged me for someone else's food, when I asked for a refund I got nothing but "we are sorry, we can't process that, but we can give you a credit" as if I'm going to come back. Great pizza. Good pasta dishes. Been going to for years! Only complaint is the guy who answers the phone all the time is a bit abrupt and borderline rude. I have to quickly ask for the total/timing otherwise he'll hang up the phone on me. Also, our online purchase hasn't worked 2/3 times now and he is very good about making us feel like it was our fault. (Even though I've always gotten my confirmation email and everything) Other than him, the staff is lovely. It's pretty good pizza and good food. I'm shocked with some of the bad reviews. It's one of my " go to"places in town.

Extremely disappointing!! I work very nearby and this is always our "go to" place to order from.. Well they messed up on our order and when we called to try and rectify it the person on the other end only complained about how busy they were and hung up on me!! we will never order from there again! very disappointing. They all need another course on customer service, because this was not it!! read more

The pizza and salads have both been great. The service is quick, restaurant is super clean and staff is relatively friendly. Other reviewers have complained about the prices, but I think they're comparable to the area and quality. One down side - the american cheese on the roast beef hero was pre-sliced - the edges were dried out and hard. I'll keep eating here and would recommend it. I've been eating at Hawthorne Pizzeria for the last 20 years, and they are always on the money! Not only do they have the best pizza, but their food from the kitchen is tasty as well! The employees are always friendly and their delivery service is always fast! I would never eat at another pizzeria! Not to mention the fact that these past two weeks, with all the snow and ice we've gotten, Hawthorne Pizzeria has remained open. I would certainly recommend eating here! read more

This has to be the worst pizza place I've EVER been to. The staff is rude and obnoxious, literally yelling across the restaurant.
