What a great place to get out of the summer heat and grab a bite to eat! * Entrance into the parking lot is a bit tricky but that is because of a center median, inlet, and cross traffic from the Loop 101 in Peoria at Thunderbird Blvd. *Parking is good with a generous amount of disabled parking! *Tons of available seating in the dining room, bar, and patio with tons of NATURAL lighting! *Bathrooms were extremely clean and well stocked! *Service was amazing! Server was on her "A" game! We decided to stop at Haymaker for dinner, little did I know I was going to be blown away by the chef's creativity! All of a sudden, I craved a bacon hamburger, BUT I also wanted the BEST pancakes that are made here. Our very knowledgeable server, Josh, asked, "so why not combine both?" I thought about it and asked if it could be done. Of course it was gonna get done, I was at Haymaker! Josh came back with the MOST succulent hamburger ever- the Maria Burger! He said the kitchen named it the "Maria Burger", and couldn't stop talking about how good it looked, I couldn't stop talking about how DELICIOUS it tasted! Had a pretty "free" morning so Wife, the Baby, and I decided to get some breakfast. We frequent the Goodwill around the corner from here so we said "let's check this place out". We got around 9:30a and it was pretty busy. We waited a few mins but nothing too crazy. Menu had a lot to choose from and everything sounded good. When it comes to breakfast I'm pretty basic : Chilaquiles or Eggs Benedict. When i saw the "Huevos Benedictos" on the menu you could say they found a way to bring both together. The chorizo and their Chipotle Sauce, along with a perfect poached egg, really brought it all together peeeerrrfectly. This dish was simply DELICIOUS wife and the baby enjoyed their food as well (didn't get a close up picture ) The cherry on top was our server. I'm terrible with names but he was a tall, older gentleman. I believe i noticed a leopard print like tattoo on his hands. His service was great I can't speak on their BBQ (which seems to be what they're known for) but i will definitely be back for their breakfast. read more

From the name of this restaurant I wouldn't have thought that this was a breakfast/burger/BBQ join. My friend said they serve up some great breakfast, so decided to give it a try. Inside has a country like homey feeling. They serve breakfast all day and they have a bar which is really cool. Ordered their peach mojito and classic eggs benedict. Peach mojito went down great, peach flavor was delicious! The hollandaise sauce was a little too thick for me but my friend love it. Found this place while searching for a "kids eat free" restaurant and it did not disappoint. They serve breakfast all day which is nice for a Sunday for our family. Conveniently located just off the 101 and plenty of parking here and lots of dining spaces available for all size groups. The food is homestyle and quite tasty. Homey ambiance with friendly staff. Haymaker Thunderbird Went there today quite excited for lunch and had one of the worst meals in a lifetime. My turkey melt sandwich, with cheese, smoked bacon was way too salty. Removed the bacon and there was no improvement. My macaroni and cheese side dish was watery the cheese was missing in action, I couldn't find any cheese at all. The real deal onion rings, not minced, had way too much batter. I shall never eat at Haymaker again. read more

I would like to leave an update on my earlier review of haymaker on Thunderbird in Arizona. The company reached out to me and apologized profusely explaining the air conditioner was on the fritz and they were working on having it repaired as he was writing his response to me. The company also followed up with a exceptional personalized letter and gift card to apologize for the inconvenience. Such customer service is almost unheard of these days and I appreciate their concern with customer satisfaction. I will definitely give them a return visit. read more

The food here is hit or miss. Some days it's good, some days it's not. They absolutely cannot learn how to take orders for groups of 6+. We have waited as long as 45 minutes for the last person in our party to get their meal after the first person received theirs. Some days the food is not just late, some days they forgot to ring it in. Some staff are absolutely amazing, some are not (cough, Josh). It's a shame they split their tips in the bar because he doesn't deserve any of their gratuity. read more

Food is still great here. Four people had different entrees which included a breakfast scramble, chicken sandwich , BLAT and brisket sandwich. Also had fried pickles. They used to have a location near my home years ago. Met some friends from west valley and enjoyed the food. Unexpectedly pleasant! Stopped here in between my son's baseball games at Rio Vista Park nearby for a quick bite and a beer. Sat on the patio, which was nice and also dog friendly. Seems like a round robin of servers to run food & drinks out & to check on you. Once the larger party on the patio left, seemed a little bit longer of a way to see a server check on us. Not Dog Friendly OR people friendly. At 3:45 in the afternoon my wife and I went out for an early dinner with our two small dogs (a little terrier and a mini golden doodle). I walked onto the patio to make sure it was ok for the dogs. There is a sign stating that they are a dog friendly patio with a set of rules that we followed completely. I took the dogs through the outer gate, not the inside of the restaurant and walked inside to let the host know we were out there and double check that we could have the two little dogs out there. I was not greeted or even acknowledged, but I warmly greeted the host and the server standing at the counter. Still no greeting. I asked if we were ok to be out on the patio with the dogs and without a word, just a hand gesture to the host, the server was obviously very annoyed by our presence. I asked if everyone was ok and all I got was a steely stare with the host, who never acknowledged me said, "this way" waking me back to the patio. That was almost enough for us to leave, but we hoped they were just having a bad day and would get better with our server. Not to be! Our server was the same, annoyed by our existence person at the counter. Our ferocious mini Goldendoodle gave a little bark, and that seemed to set her off again. I don't know what we did or why she despised us so deeply. She had such an attitude I asked if everything was ok or if the dogs bothered her...just a glare and a "What can I get you to drink. She treated us with such disrespect we asked for a manager and for the sake of time and space got the same treatment. We have been steady customers as a couple and in large groups to this restaurant and the one across the street. We won't be going back and will be letting our friends and family know just how poorly we were treated. read more

Our experience was okay but I don't think I would willingly go again. My food was kind of gross, it wasn't even worth packing up to take home. Our party was there for at least a good 10 minutes before we were greeted and then we waited a while longer for drinks. I've never had a server ask me what I wanted to drink and order at the same time but maybe that's just how they do it at this restaurant. Our server Jareth was okay but not very attentive. Half of our table got their food and nearly finished by the time the other half's came out which wasn't too great. Someone in our party wanted to use the salt and pepper shakers but it was clear that the salt and pepper got wet inside their containers, and then the salt and pepper solidified and would not come out. That's a bit disgusting. So she asked for different ones. These new ones didn't come out much better. They were also very dirty. Run those containers through the dishwasher at least once a week and refill them.. it's not hard. It was my first time here and definitely my last. read more

We keep coming back here for breakfast. Food is always prepared well and fresh with large servings. Highly recommend the Brisket Skillet, Huevos Rancheros, and Western Omelette. Service is always fast and servers (particularly Trina in the bar and Jeremy in the main dining room) are friendly and quick with a smile.
