Loved this tiny spot! I had their dogs for lunch with my friend who works in Hayes Valley. The space is artsy (thanks for the wall covered by doggie-art and bright accent colors) and cozy. We actually stayed inside as it was a bit windy that day. As for the hot dogs -- I was excited to try their Chicago style Fluky and it was delicious (a bit more bready than in Chicago but still great). My friend got Hays and also loved it. You can pick side of salad or chips. Service was fast as it was not crowded on a weekday afternoon.

Bring your pup here! Super puppy friendly they even have a pup menu, but it's basically a hot dog straight up, might not be healthy for your dog to eat the whole thing, but a little bite won't hurt! We got kimchi hot dog and the elote, Elote was great and the kimchi dog was great too. I think they should try to use a different kind of bread, the bun seemed a little dry and flaky or something, and the Elote topping kept falling out of the bun lol. The kimchi hot dog was good too but there could have been more kimchi...overall great place! They have a punch card system too so 8 hot dogs give you a free hot dog!! Cute store interior!

Good quality beef hot dogs with a nice spicy kick. I love that you can choose your spice level always a plus. The hot dogs were big enough that even my grandma commented on the size! Great flavor, generous portions, and definitely worth the price.

Sometimes you need to compartmentalize & treat yourself. Nobody knows what's in these flavor bombs & I don't care. Anyway, if you're looking for a hotdog, Hayz Dog is as good as it gets. The ingredients are fresh & the combinations are inventive. I generally order the Bobo- straight up ketchup, mustard, relish & raw onions. Friendly folks who remember I hate mayo. (Ok, been here a few times, I swear I'm a healthy eater.) Located at the end of Hayes St shopping district. The food is 5 star. My only complaint is the annoying tv in the parklet- all sports, too loud, nobody's watching. Just me trying to read, a couple talking, & a woman with headphones. Happy to report on my last visit there was a silent non-sports program on. Thank you! The people have spoken. Support Local!

This is a great place to get a quick bite in Hayes Valley. They have limited inside seating but have an outside parklet. I love the elote they have here, it's small but hits the spot for me when I need a small nibble. I also enjoy their root beer floats, I like that they give you the bottle to put how much you want. I had the veggie dog substituted in and it was great. Good customer service as well.

Such a unique hot dog place in the Hayes Valley. Super convenient to come here and grab a quick bite to go. I thought the toppings for The Elote [4.5/5] were delicious! I think the quality of the bread and the hot dog could be improved, as the bread is the very plain and not buttery, and the hot dog tastes pretty cheap and simple. The concept is great. Service is great, quick, and friendly. Probably wouldn't particularly come back here because there are much juicier and tender hot dogs, but the concept is cool. :)

We were heading to Toronado and as Berliner is no longer there next door decided to head here pre IPA - it was a good choice! Has several different types of hot dog including a really good vegetarian version for my daughter and I that was really quite exceptional and I love the crispy shallot / cilantro combo. My husband got the Fluky - a Chicago style dog loaded with sport peppers! Loved sitting on the outside patio in the middle of Hayes Valley enjoying our hot dogs! Great spot!

Went to Hayz Dog for the September special menu item, the Pinoy Pup. It was excellent! Loved the Filipino cuisine inspired toppings: spicy banana ketchup, pickled green papaya and carrots and crispy garlic. (It comes with cilantro too, but I asked to leave that out) I hope they bring this Pinoy hot dog back in the future! We ordered at the counter and sat down in their outdoor patio. Food came out quickly, and the hot dogs came with a side of chips. I look forward to coming back to try their regular menu items!

Stopped by Hayz Dog early in the day for a quick bite and tried The Dub, which looked closest to a classic chili dog. Overall, it was solid but didn't really stand out (7/10). The Fritos on top were a great touch, adding crunch and texture. What threw me off a bit was the chili--most chili dogs don't include beans, and this one leaned more into a Mexican-style twist with refried beans. I appreciated the creativity, but the beans and chili overall could've used more flavor. The hot dog itself was standard--not the worst wiener, not the best. I liked the inclusion of chips on the side, though they tasted like slightly upgraded Ruffles--good, but not crave-worthy. Overall, a solid eat that I'd definitely order again. What excites me most is the creative variety on the menu, so I'll be back to try more flavors. It's a fun stop if you want a single dog as a snack, but at up to $14 per dog, two for nearly $30 doesn't feel worth it as a full meal.

Hayz Dog is awesome. I'm vegetarian and there's sm options for me. You can sub a vegan dog in any of the options so you can get the whole menu! I got the heddy which was really really good. Good chill lunch spot - outdoor seating and quick service.

Came by after a dinner nearby since I was still feeling hungry. It's a little pricey for a hot dog, but it is quite filling. I tried the fluky and the tramp. Solid hot dogs with a good snap. Not sure the Chicago dog can compare to the ones I had in Chicago, but it was a pretty good one you can find outside of Chicago. Tramp was solid, a little too spicy for me, but can never go wrong with bacon.

We were delightfully surprised at this delectable and delicious gem in SF. We came in from the East Bay to go to an event at Davis Symphony and I found this place on Yelp. I was intrigued by the Elote Hot Dog, and it did not disappoint. It was very yummy. My husband and kid both got the B&E (Bacon and Egg) dog and loved them too. We'll definitely be back when we return to this area. There are other dogs I'd like to try. Cute and cozy small outside covered dining area with a TV. It was a nice meal on a budget.

    Horrible worker

05/01/26 REVIEW I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was honestly frustrating and disrespectful. The employee working there had a serious attitude from the start. Instead of being helpful, they were dismissive and rude when I asked a simple question. What really crossed the line was when they told me to "just read the board" in a condescending tone, and looked at me as if I was stupid, even after I tried to explain that I have eye issues and astigmatism, which makes it difficult to read from a distance. Customer service should be about helping people, not making them feel uncomfortable or embarrassed for asking questions. A little patience and basic courtesy would've gone a long way here. Had to ask the guy if anything was wrong because he gave me attitude, and said, "No, just read the board like it says right there" Again, like I'm saying I have eye issues, and he was being discriminatory towards my health issues. I hope management addresses this because no one should be treated like that just for needing a bit of assistance. Attached is a photo of the worker who worked on 05/01/26 at 5:43PM

The atmosphere is exactly what you want from a place like this as it is lively but not loud, cozy but not cramped, and always buzzing with good energy, from the staff through to most of the patrons on any given night. The menu is a greatest-hits tour of German comfort food. The deviled eggs are a must to start your meal and the wienerschnitzel is my personal go‑to as it is crispy, moist, and so flavorful every time I've had it. The jägerschnitzel is another standout if you are feeling something a little lighter and saucier as it rich and savory in all the right ways, and the sausages are always banging and perfect alongside a big stein of beer. It's the kind of food that feels made for long conversations and slow sipping. What really elevates Suppenküche, though, is the people. The staff are super friendly and clearly know their stuff, always ready with a beer recommendation or a menu suggestion and the patrons tend to match that vibe; if you end up at the bar or sharing a table, which is pretty common if you come with a small group, you're likely to find yourself chatting with someone new before long. There's honestly no better way to make new friends in SF than bonding over schnitzel and a great German beer at Suppenküche.

Metro Caffe has two fake meat options for their sandwiches, either a Boca or a garden burger patty that's chopped up and grilled with cheese and onions! There's a few extra options to add as toppings: extra cheese, extra meat, peppers, avocado, mushrooms, etc. as well as burgers, hot dogs and a good range of sides. I decided to try the Boca burger cheesesteak sandwich while my partner got the turkey. The first thing we noticed was how amazingly soft the bread was, a big difference compared to other cheesesteak restaurants. The sandwiches also aren't huge and overfilled.... which surprisingly is what we prefer! We were able to eat everything and didn't feel like we had taken a bomb to our stomachs, which usually happens after a big cheese filled sandwich. On top of that, the sandwiches were delicious. The grilled onions were good and the cheese melted well and got into all the bits of the sandwich and meat fillings. Our food came out piping hot but not so bad that we had to wait too long before we could eat. The shop is small but there's indoor and outdoor seating and it's close to a few parks and bars that will let you bring in food. Service was quick and the workers were nice and friendly. Definitely a great replacement for the cheesesteak shops we've been losing lately, we're definitely returning!
