Loved this tiny spot! I had their dogs for lunch with my friend who works in Hayes Valley. The space is artsy (thanks for the wall covered by doggie-art and bright accent colors) and cozy. We actually stayed inside as it was a bit windy that day. As for the hot dogs -- I was excited to try their Chicago style Fluky and it was delicious (a bit more bready than in Chicago but still great). My friend got Hays and also loved it. Bring your pup here! Super puppy friendly they even have a pup menu, but it's basically a hot dog straight up, might not be healthy for your dog to eat the whole thing, but a little bite won't hurt! We got kimchi hot dog and the elote, Elote was great and the kimchi dog was great too. I think they should try to use a different kind of bread, the bun seemed a little dry and flaky or something, and the Elote topping kept falling out of the bun lol. Such a unique hot dog place in the Hayes Valley. Super convenient to come here and grab a quick bite to go. I thought the toppings for The Elote [4.5/5] were delicious! Went to Hayz Dog for the September special menu item, the Pinoy Pup. It was excellent! Loved the Filipino cuisine inspired toppings: spicy banana ketchup, pickled green papaya and carrots and crispy garlic. (It comes with cilantro too, but I asked to leave that out) I hope they bring this Pinoy hot dog back in the future! We ordered at the counter and sat down in their outdoor patio. We were delightfully surprised at this delectable and delicious gem in SF. We came in from the East Bay to go to an event at Davis Symphony and I found this place on Yelp. 05/01/26 REVIEW I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was honestly frustrating and disrespectful. The employee working there had a serious attitude from the start. Instead of being helpful, they were dismissive and rude when I asked a simple question. What really crossed the line was when they told me to "just read the board" in a condescending tone, and looked at me as if I was stupid, even after I tried to explain that I have eye issues and astigmatism, which makes it difficult to read from a distance. Customer service should be about helping people, not making them feel uncomfortable or embarrassed for asking questions. A little patience and basic courtesy would've gone a long way here. Had to ask the guy if anything was wrong because he gave me attitude, and said, "No, just read the board like it says right there" Again, like I'm saying I have eye issues, and he was being discriminatory towards my health issues. This is a cool little joint on Hayes St just a couple blocks off of Van Ness/ Theatre District. The owner and and I had a little convo in Spanish about public use of restroom. My wife ran Starbucks for 20 years; I'm so understanding of what a can of worms that is. We resolved it. No fuss, no muss. He brought the dogs and Ovaltine shake out to the outdoor parklet, and moved the napkins to within easy reach. Such a cool guy. We chatted about this and that. Conveniently located in a great area to grab a bite after a show or simply walking around enjoying the neighborhood. Grabbed dinner here on a Thursday evening and absolutely loved the casual and quirky vibe and wonderful service by the staff. There's a tiny indoor space with cool decor on the walls and just a few countertop seats, but they have outdoor parklet seating as well, including a few tables on the sidewalk which we took advantage of with the pleasant weather during our recent visit. We got the fluky with extra spicy peppers, and the bobo with cheddar and no mustard. The hot dogs were absolutely satisfying, seemingly boiled (not grilled), but are quite delicious nonetheless, the toppings piled on, creating a unique flavor for the different specialty dogs. We even devoured the lightly salted potato chips that came on the side, just because they went well with the hot dogs.
