Perfect spot to grab a sandwich and walk over to Alamo square and eat in front of the painted ladies. The B.L.T.A was delicious - loved the tomato jam add. The sandwiches are a great size so you can definitely split with a friend if you're not too hungry.

Stopped by Lucinda's Deli to get sandwiches during our day in SF. We went on a Saturday around 12:30pm and it was starting to get pretty busy. No substitutions allowed. I got the Avo Smash and it was ready for pickup at the counter after about 20 minutes. There's no indoor seating, but it's conveniently located near Alamo Square so you can take it to the park. Avo Smash (4/5): Good portion size and very colorful! I liked the crispy onion bits because they added a nice crunch. The flavors were mostly pickly and fermented, so I would have liked a creamy sauce like vegan mayo to balance it out. Overall, the sandwich was decent with fresh ingredients and a big portion. I wish there were more vegetarian options since there is only one vegan option. I would consider coming back if I was in the area.

    The roast beef... amazing

It took us two tries to get a sandwich! The first time they were sold out. I love that everything is that fresh that they run out BUT can't you plan better so you don't sell out an hour before closing? We had the roast beef. It was amazing. With onion jam, pickled onions, and fried onions, you would think it would be overpowering, but it's not. It was so delicious. Next time we will try more. It would be nice if they had a few more tables. But we will be back. Their sandwiches are crave inducing!

Got to try Lucinda's on a Friday afternoon and it hit the spot. I beat the line and got my sandwiches pretty quick. There was only one worker making sandwiches at that time. Ordered the spicy tuna melt and BLTA and they were solid! Love that the bread was crunchy and hallowed out so that each bite was made up of fresh ingredients in the filling. Both sandwiches were well constructed, delicious, and balanced. Would definitely get again. A to-go spot but plenty of seating at Alamo square right outside!

This place is absolutely delicious, they have truly perfected the sandwich! They have everything an ideal sandwich needs: on a roll for extra crunch (check), great bread to filling ratio (check), fresh ingredients (check) and interesting and delicious flavor combinations (check and check). On a recent visit my friend got the Baja Turkey which looked amazing and I got the BLTA. The BLTA is a step above a typical BLT and not just because of the addition of avocado, and arugula instead of typical lettuce but also because of the tomato jam adding sweetness and chipotle mayo adding a little spice. It hits all the necessary flavors and textures, just amazing! While Lucinda's is in a very unassuming basement of a residential area but despite that it gets busy, so I recommend ordering ahead of time on their website if you can!

I have wanted to try this place for sooo long and it did not disappoint!! I actually came about a month earlier but later in the afternoon and found they were completely sold out of everything. Very dismayed, I committed to coming back another time when they opened to ensure I could secure the infamous tuna melt. I came on a Saturday right when they opened and found I was able to order right away. I got the tuna melt for myself and the prosciutto for my partner. It took maybe about 20 minutes. The guy who helped me at the counter was very friendly. The shop is right off Alamo Square park so we decided to go eat our sandos in the sun looking out at the painted ladies and the city. 10/10 do recommend, weather permitting. The tuna melt lived up to the hype. The pickled onions really stood out to me adding a lot to the flavor. Bread was great. Tuna was great. Very happy getting my sando fix.

Avo smash is so yummy! Wish there were more vegetarian options but this definitely hit the spot. Order ahead if you can since it gets pretty busy. 10/10 recommend :)

We were on our way to walk through Alamo Square Park and see the Painted Ladies when we decided to stop for a quick lunch, and we're so glad we found Lucinda's Deli. The place was packed, which immediately made it feel like a local favorite. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was honestly unbelievable--so flavorful and perfectly made. Exactly the kind of sandwich you crave when you want something satisfying and no-frills done right. The deli is a very short walk to the park, which makes it even better. Alamo Square is beautiful, with plenty to see even on a rainy day, and this is the perfect spot to grab food to take with you. Highly recommend stopping here if you're visiting the area, especially if you plan on eating in the park.

Lucinda's is one of my go-to sandwich spots, especially since we live nearby. They don't have any seating so it's take away only but the service is quick even though they are usually busy and have a wait. I love both the prosciutto and Baja turkey sandwiches. The sandwiches are big and very filling with great toppings inside that work well with the protein. Bread is also nice and chewy. I would highly recommend ordering one and going to eat it at Alamo Square for a picnic to enjoy the sunshine and views of the City!

    Baja turkey

I got the Baja turkey sandwich and I really didn't like it. First of all, it was a 30 minute wait for a cold deli sandwich. The sandwich had way too much meat. The turkey didn't taste right. The bread had been hollowed out so the bread to filling ratio was off. I couldn't finish the sandwich. I really didn't like it.

Delicious to-go style sandwiches right next to Alamo square park. We stopped here after a nice walk in the area to try one of the many delicious sandwiches they have. I was pleasantly surprised to see they share a space with a local coffee shop that was drawing a crowd as well. I tried the Baja turkey and enjoyed to the salty and spicy flavor combo from the pickled jalapeño, Baja dressing, and avocado they stack in the sandwich. The bread was also very soft which I liked. Can't wait to come back and try the roast beef sando!

Ambience was nice, menu looked fantastic. I ordered with no issues, sandwich was good but I had to remove apple slices from it as it seemed excessive as the meat was skimped.

A very loaded sando!! I got the Baja Turkey and it was so good. I love that the sandwich was packed heavy with turkey breast, pepper jack, red onion, pickled jalapeño, avocado, tomato, arugula and Baja dressing. They definitely do not skimp out on the toppings!

But when you want a sandwich that only tastes like its ingredients, Irving Subs is the spot. Their Dutch crunch is famous for being fresh and actually crunchy. Their lettuce is shredded but fresh and crispy. The salt content is just enough to bring out the flavors. And the overall composition of their sandwiches are very well proportioned. You're not getting skimped, but you're also not biting into a mouthful of a packet of deli meat. They definitely know what they are doing. Double pastrami, horseradish, havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, and pepperoncini. A lot going on, and it all came together. The horseradish and havarti gave it enough personality to stand apart from a standard pastrami sandwich, and the garlicky mayo tied everything together. The one casualty of DoorDash was sogginess by the time it arrived. That's not a knock on the sandwich, it's just the reality of ordering something like this for delivery. At $14.50 it's a hearty sandwich at a fair price. I'd recommend it, but eat in.

This is a cute corner shop in sunny Mission, and it's very clean and organized inside. I was the only person there when I went early Saturday morning (although I imagine it might be busier now) and I ordered the lady Gianna, which took around 10 minutes to make. The result was a delicious juicy eggplant Parm like sandwich with a nice kick as well. The fresh basil really came through. The Portobello sandwich was also a standout.
