First visit today. Cool place. Great fries and service was quick even though they were busy. Steamed bun was spot on but the dog had a tough texture to the casing. The flavor was good though. I had fresh onions and chilli. The onions were more than past their prime. Almost as chewy as the dog casing. The chilli was good but not remarkable. I am not a fan of beans in hotdog chilli. Have eaten here many many times . This place reminds me of the hot dog stands I would frequent as a kid in New York and New Jersey.. walk up and order to eat in car or at the two picnic tables. The hot dogs are made for this place and are grilled on a flat top and have a nice crunch to them as a natural casing hot dog should. Many combinations can be purchased to satisfy any lover of hot dogs . The fries are double fried so are very good . Cost is very good as a combo with two dogs, fries and a drink is only 6.99$ which I consider a deal . Other menu items include cheese and or chili fries as well as milk shakes and ice cream. Was very good, our first time there. Arrived 11:45am on a Wednesday during July. Ordered and wasn't long before our food was ready. Service was curious and quick. Got two hotdogs and shared fries and drink. There was only one non carbonated option on drinks, but food was good and hot. Parking sucked. This place is A-OK we finally were in town when it was open and decided to give it a try. We had hot dogs and french fries, the hot dog was tasty with a fresh bun and all the fixins. The french fries are hand cut, and come out hot with a little crust they were very good. We split an orange shake. We will come back. So I was out of town visiting my girlfriend, when we passed by this place a couple times during lunch and saw a quite decent line so we knew we had to stop in. I have to say, for $7 we got a hotdog, a large fry and a sprite, pretty good deal if I do say so myself. I was a little worried about the 'snap' some of the other reviews mentioned but it was the best hot dog I have ever had. The hand cut fresh fries were also impeccable. I just have something about meat on tube form. I make a lot of it and I eat a lot of it. Now I have been traveling back n forth to St Augustine for the past weeks. I have seen Hazel with her brightly colored small building and decided today is the day that I'm going dogging. I walked up to the window and there was no hazel it was Harry the hot dog maker guy. Ok I looked at the menu and went right for the spicy dog. That's with some spicy brown mustard and a relish mixture with some peppers thrown in. Then I being a true lover of dog. Went for the ever classic chili cheese dog. Ok when I got my dogs I thought self you better eat this chili dog before you drive home. You'll be wearing this one all the way home. So I did. I scarfed this thing down and didn't even spill a drop. It was tasty with some kind of chili but then with beans in the chili there is always something wrong. So off I went with my spicy dog and it was also quite tasty. Both dogs were cooked just right hot all the way thou and not just heated up. The buns were soft and you know when they are soft you can just grab onto it with all of the toppings and put the hoover maneuver on it. Great place for a quick lunch! My fiancé and I were recently in Saint Augustine for a few days and after reading the reviews on Yelp! About this place we just had to stop by! I had 2 bacon dogs and she had a spicy dog and a chili cheese dog we shared a large fry I got a soda and she got a milk shake all for under $20! Both of our dogs were delicious, and the large fry was more then enough for the two us to share and the milk shake was amazing( made with real strawberries!) overall we will defiantly be stopping by Hazel's again next time we are in town! read more

We had a classic chili cheese (nice chili with beans), bacon cheddar (nacho cheese), Salsa dog was really nice, and we also had the spicy dog (not hot enough for me). Only two picnic tables to eat at but they are shaded. Wasn't to impressed with the fries though. To me they were really average. Definitely hand cut but average for hand cut (still better than frozen). I definitely will be back to try more of the dogs. Again the snap was amazing!! Tried this place thanks to Yelp, otherwise you'd probably skip this place. Small with minimal seating but they more than make up for it with great dogs. The Spicy Dog is a must try! Not too spicy and FULL of flavor. This place is a must visit spot if you're in St. Augustine. For the people complaining about the lack of seating, I'd lay flat on the asphalt parking lot in order to enjoy another spicy dog! read more

Any place that routinely has a line of people out front has to be good right? That would be a big right. The dogs are fried to be crunchy and good, the toppings awesome and the cheese fries? Fuggit about it. You need a fork to stay clean. This place rocks and is worth standing in line for a dog. Seating is a bit sparse so you might want to enjoy your meal in your car. We sat on the tailgate of our truck and enjoyed every mouthful. Great find. read more

My parents were in town for the holidays and Dad wanted a hot dog, so I said let's give Hazel's another try. We had been before and I was not impressed, but will always give the benefit of doubt and a second chance. So we took our family of 7 to Hazel's. We ordered and my father paid the $48.90 tab with a $50 bill, to which the cashier said "shit!". Once he confirmed it was real, he handed him the change and chuckled. They gave us one too many slaw dogs and when I gave it back to them and told them it should be plain, they said repeatedly, "but you already paid for it". Not "I'm sorry, your plain dog will be right up or What can I get you or how can I make this right?" So I didn't eat...however, I did have a bite of a dog because my son wouldn't finish it as he said it was bad...and it was! The hot dogs came out first. They were overcooked and tough. The fries came out when the family was almost finished with the hot dogs and the drinks followed by another 5 minutes. When they brought my wife's shake last, it was in two Styrofoam cups. When she lifted the top cup to see why, there was a hole in it. So instead of pouring in another cup, they just put a cup under it to cover it up. They also didn't give me the coke I ordered (and paid for), so it was a SNAFU all the way around. Apathetic service coupled with marginal quality food at best.
