I came up to visit my aunt, and the first place she took me was Hazel's Kitchen for lunch. She said it was a must for my visit. Food We both had salads. My aunt ordered the 'Chicken Salad' salad and I ordered the Chef Salad (topped with thinly shaved turkey and ham, and bite sized cheese). Both were generous portions, made with super fresh greens and veggies (asked if they were locally grown, but they weren't sure). The chicken salad was amazing, with apple slices large enough to see, but not a giant cube like some people serve-- had just the right amount of mayo, not to dry, not too mushy. The homemade dressings are amazing and full of flavor. Service The service was quick-- our server was an older woman with a big smile and a great attitude. This is the best place in Tulare and one of only a handful of local eateries worth your while. It is locally owned, pleasant to be at, a friendly old lady is usually your server, and the food is really good. I threw a baby shower for my sister on a Saturday afternoon. They were happy to open for the private party. I'm living in San Francisco so I had to coordinate everything long distance which was handled smoothly. The food was delish!!!! I couldn't get enough of the chicken salad sandwich and their angel hair pasta! To top things off we had a choice of red velvet cupcake, birthday cake cupcake, and chocolate cupcake to choose from!
