As an update to this review, the manager Adam reached out to discuss some of the issues encountered during our first visit and was fantastic. Great management and great group of employees! I really wanted to like this spot but there were a few issues to push down the rating. Beer: 5 stars. They're a brewery and do their beers really well. Frozen Wolf Hazy IPA was probably the best I tried. Food: 3 stars. The steak sandwiches were awesome, nachos were fine with the expectation that it is a ballpark type cheese, but the sausages were some of the worst I've tasted. The hot links were alright, but the chicken and beef sausages lacked any flavor and had a mushy texture as if they had boiled them way too long. It probably would of been better if they grilled their sausages. The sides and coleslaw that came with it was good but extremely disappointed to spend $18.50 on the sausages. Service: 3 stars. The employees were all very friendly and gave great beer recommendations. Management, especially Adam, is great. However we got there on a weekday afternoon, only about 5 tables were full, and our beer, soda, and iced tea didn't come out for 23 minutes even after asking about it after 15 minutes! Our food came out in 10 minutes so we had to eat half of our food before it got cold before our drinks came out. Drinks should be the first items to come out. The drinks were great, the location and ambience were wonderful, but the staff was so rude. There were 8 of us and each couple ordered separately, and were surprised to return to the table with the same negative experience, both times at the counter. The woman working there was completely dismissive. We felt like we were bothering her. One of the gentlemen behind the bar was also very rude to one in our party and swearing to his coworker loudly enough for us to hear at our table. I do want to say the woman clearing tables was lovely and friendly- so Headlands did something right hiring her! Headlands has a ton of potential. It is a prime location and a super cute environment inside and on the patio. The beer and drinks were excellent. Nice relaxing place to grab some food, a good beer and visit with old friends. The staff was very friendly. We were in from out of town but you could tell this is a popular local place. While visiting a friend in the East Bay area, I had an afternoon free to hit this spot up. Definitely a five star brewery for several reasons. Number one of course is the beer. A strong selection of on draft choices! Hazy's, pilsners, Octoberfest, nitro's, etc.! Flights available too. I love those flights! Service was super friendly and welcoming. The seating is plentiful and dog friendly. I don't own a dog, but saw patrons outside with a dog. You can also sit out front and watch the world go by. I saw a pretty glass fireplace that would be a pleasant spot to be on a cool evening. The hot dog menu is not extensive, but, the options were nice. Chicken and vegan sausages and beef. Choose your dog, choose your style, and or or own toppings. Covid vaccination required here too. Parking is available but I recommend parking in the public lot across the street (Thanks for the tip fellow Yelper). Cheers and cheers to feeling like we are getting back to normal. read more

Such a pleasant surprise tucked away in sleepy Lafayette. Great beer garden, yummy brews and Taco Thursdays! Limited food options, but loved the 'build your own' beer tasting flight. Everyone working there (especially Tracy) was super helpful and friendly. I'm not even much of a beer drinker but will definitely be back on a weekend for a cold Las Trampas IPA and a smashburger (with a glass of that super tasty latte stout for dessert). read more

The weekend smash burger is one of the best things you can eat in Lamorinda! Great drink selection and super friendly staff. Wish the venue was a little bigger (because it's such a great place). Fun new beer garden in Lafayette. There is table service from QR codes inside and an order window for outside garden/patio seating. Lots of people there on the 4th of July! Signage indicates they are still in a soft open stage, but they were hoppin' and service was fast and efficient. We ordered two beers and two dogs. The Point Bonita Pilsner was bright and refreshing, and the Bear Creek hazy IPA was juicy, light, and also very refreshing. The dogs were tasty. We got the Costa dog which is a Chicago style and the First Bore dog, which comes with Cole slaw on top. The giardinera that comes on the dogs is a really nice crunchy briney touch. A few potato chips and a pickle spear round out the (compostable, yay!) plate. There are three sausage types (all beef, sweet Italian chicken and vegan) to choose from at the moment, but I'm hoping as they get more established they will expand those choices. (Pretty please?) We will definitely keep an eye on Headlands and will happily return for a pint or a pitcher (did I mention they had pitchers?!) and a bite. read more

I've heard of this beer garden from several people who have been there. We were a bit early for a dinner reservation when we stumbled upon the brewery. Loved all the outdoor seating choices and the cool vibe here. A lot of people just relaxing, enjoying a beer and conversation. Dog and kid friendly as well. Good choices on beer with several of their own and outside breweries as well. Enjoyed the bunny hop (chose it since it was a bit lower in alcohol content)and was surprised at the complex flavors. We did not sample any of the food, but the dishes looked yummy as well. Cannot wait to go back and hang out. read more

Awesome drinks. Awesome staff. Sometimes customers take a while to order when it's busy, so at times I hear other customers mumbling about the wait in the line, but I say who cares. You're at a brewery.. why are you in a rush? Relax and talk to someone next to you ya know? All the beer they make is easy to drink (which is a nice break from intense flavors) and tastes good. They also have guest breweries on tap, wine, and cider, and snacks/small bites. It's a small local microbrewery so I feel like they are doing the best they can with what their space has to offer... pretty much anything to make anyone happy that hangs out at a brewery. read more

This is a super cute spot. Beer is decent. I had the peach apricot sour. Wish it was a bit more fruited but glad it wasn't super sour. Frosé was very good. My bulldog enjoyed a smash burger patty while we were there. Parking can be a bit rough in the parking lot since it's tucked away in between a few other little shops but there is street parking at least. One employee could have been a bit more pleasant. Don't forget to tell the beertender that you have an open tab first or she'll yell at you because letting her know after taking your order apparently is a big deal to her. This past Tuesday, my wife and I made it out to the Lafayette Headlands Taproom after a long day of work. It was a perfect day to sit outside in their patio section and listen to live music while we ate smash burgers and drank some delicious beers. The bartenders were very helpful in describing the beers and helping us find our perfect beer. (I got the Diablo double IPA, and my wife got the CCBA fruited double IPA). I've been looking into going to this place for a while, and tonight (5/5/23) I was able to finally make it with a friend as a going away hangout since my friend was leaving for CalFire training. The selection they have is fantastic, tried a few drinks, and some food, the smash burgers where amazing, and the pretzels with beer chews were amazing as well. The local Strawberry Cider was to die for and a perfect end to the night. The service was amazing, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful especially for us who had never been. I gotta give a shout-out to a member of staff by the name of Jason, had a great conversation while waiting on our drinks, and he was awesome enough to help me (hopefully) get a hoodie in my size.
