I still say Northern California can compete with anywhere in the US for great breweries. We finally got the chance to come here - we're not in Lafayette that much but we did like the place a lot. Beer was good and being able to bring your dogs is wonderful. Would give five stars if it wasn't for the stampede of kids running freely all over. Screaming and doing as they please without any supervision - that's what would keep us away. But outside that we liked the place a lot. I hope they do something about the playground atmosphere of the place and realize it's for adults - this is a nice place. read more

Great place to hang out in Lafayette! I had passed by Headlands Brewing several times and their outdoor patio always caught my eye. I came here with a girlfriend last month for some drinks. I got the Frosé and the Pretzel with cheese. The Frosé was delicious and the pretzel was so bomb! The bread was nice and soft. We got to enjoy our drinks outside on the patio, they were nice enough to turn on their firepit for us. Their staff were all friendly too. I came here with my family and we had a very interesting time. The food was very, very good, but it seems that both parents and pet owners have somewhat of an issue of keeping their child/pet under control. This is obviously outside of the scope of the restaurant, but do better Lafayetters. This is a restaurant, not a playground. read more

The Beer is excellent and a wide selection. The atmosphere on the weekends is chaotic as it crowded and way to many toddlers running around unsupervised. kids/toddler playground vibes, no doubt at this brewery I would recommend going during the week. Spontaneous stop by turned out to me a very cute discovery here in Lafayette. Very interesting place with the cute outside seating to oversee uptown main strip on the rainy night with a great beer selection and very knowledgeable staff offering what your heard desires. Hawk Hill Hefeweizen ($8.50) was a bit plain and got compensated with flavorful pilsner. Smash Burger ($9.50) as good as it can be, can be substituted with bbq meats and delicious sauce from next door. I've spent a decent amount of time at the Headlands Lafayette taproom. They're always releasing new beers and I've yet to try one I didn't like. They make some of the best west coast and hazy IPAs. The tap room staff is awesome and the food is all delicious. Do yourself a favor and get the smash burger. As an area native, this place is one of the best things to happen to here in a long time. The food is great, the service is always unpretentious and competent, and the ambiance is perfection. The drinks are good, too, but that's not even what draws us here even though it's a brewery. Welcome to Lafayette Headlands Brewing Company! I know this site has been many years in the making and it was so nice to see the vision finally come to fruition. We parked in the back behind the brewery, it can get a little tight and crowded back there so be mindful of that when visiting. The space is beautiful with mostly outdoor seating, some indoor, and a covered patio as well. They are also kid and dog friendly! The staff was welcoming and eager to help. I decided to order a flight (6 beers) to try several of their beers. Each taster was priced differently based on which style beer it was. I mostly got IPAs but they also carry lighter beers like pilsners, pale ales, and a sour pilsner. My favorite beer of the day was the Bear Creek Hazy IPA, light and easy drinking. They also sell fancy sausages and some snacky type items. They also carry non-alcoholic drinks, wine, and cider so there's a little something for everyone! We can't wait to come back! read more

Popped in for a Saturday lunch and easily found a seat. Ordered our food and drinks at the counter so we had the benefit of some recommendations! Beers were all delicious. Not overpowering and tasted great with the food. You would think the menu is limited but the ability to make your own gives you lots of options. Diablo Sausage Dog was delicious. Didn't expect the cream cheese, jam and jalapeños to blend so nice but it wasn't super spicy and the beef was tasty. Definitely will be back! read more

Finally, a brewery in Lafayette. Moving up in the world . We had a great experience here on a hot day, perfect for a nice cold beer. We didn't know what their hours were and strolled by 90 minutes before they opened. The general manager saw us and offered to pour us a couple beers and sit on the outdoor patio anyway. I've never been to a place that will serve you and let you sit down 90 minutes before opening. Above and beyond customer service! I tried their pale ale and their frose. Pale ale was good and frose, although something I wouldn't normally order at a brewery, was much needed on a day that was over 100 degrees. There are two areas to sit outside, a larger patio on the side with plenty of umbrellas and a smaller patio in the front. Plenty of shade at both. There are also a few tables inside. Great new brewery in Lafayette! A must-try with a good selection of beers. We got the Hefeweizen and the sour guava, which were great. How it works: you order at the counter and find a table or you can sit down, order with the QR from the table and a server will bring you a drink. The QR option is great if you don't want to get up again and again for a drink, but there was little to no line at the counter. There was plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. You can also bring in food if you don't want their sausages, but those were great and they offer a vegan sausage. I'll definitely return on a nice summer day! read more

Went there after work with two friends. Not Too crowded and we got the warmest reception from the whole crew behind the counter. The beer garden is so lovely. Different levels of seating , redwood trees, fire pits, and a really nice seating area for over 21 only. I don't usually care for brewery food but the smash burgers were absolutely delicious. Loved the sliced dill pickles in the burger. The fries were hot and crisp and you get an option of 3 different dips for the fries. I want to give a mention our amazing servers Golsa and carlos.
