This place was really cute. quaint, bright and clean. The best was it was in my neighborhood. Not too big on the inside, but they had tent seating too. The service was nice and the waitress was as well. I was flip flopping between the Maple Biscuit Sandwich and the Roasted Turkey Sandwich. I had the biscuit because it was still early enough. I'll go back for the sandwich. This sandwich was huge! I didn't pick it up because of the syrup. They don't put a lot on but enough to get you sticky. I used a fork and knife. It was the right amount of sausage, egg and biscuit in every bite. I would've liked the biscuit a bit softer on the outside, but it wasn't a deal breaker by any means. The coffee was good, fresh and bottomless. The price was decent as well. I would definitely go back. They're is something they're for everyone. I went back for round 2 today through icy roads! I ordered the roasted turkey sandwich with fries and my husband had the Buddha bowl. You can tell from the pictures that my sandwich was thick and stacked! We both enjoyed our meals. So good and comforting. I also got 3 cookies and they were soft and natural. So good. Not overly sweet. I also changed my stats from 4 to 5. Because I forgot to mention that I loved how on Monday our waitress was very attentive to another patron who was blind. She was very thorough in helping him while helping her other tables. She helped him sit, set his stuff up so he could find it and prepare his cobs on his food. I thought she went above and beyond and she didn't have to. I applaud that! This is where I can honestly and humbly say the menu doesn't serve justice. My first impression of the menu, meeh. We settled with Cubano and braise rib sandwiches for our savory items and French toast for the sweet offering. Boy, all taste so so good. I loved the freshness and the flavor of the Southwestern Salad (I added steak to mine for extra protein). It's often hard to find a salad that has enough dimension and flavor from the fresh ingredients and not just the dressing. I will seriously come back here just to get this salad again. We checked this place out over St. Patty's Day Saturday brunch and were overall pretty happy. Vibe: I LOVED the feel of this place. Very white with floral accents and a beautiful green tile backsplash at the bar. Overall, very aesthetically pleasing. Parking: There is a lot next to the building. It gets pretty busy, but is also pretty big. Food: I 100% recommend the Orange Caramel Pecan French Toast. The orange really comes through and pairs well with the caramel and gets some nice added crunch from the pecans. My friend got the (potentially seasonal?) pistachio pancakes with a irish cream whip cream. The irish whip cream was super decadent and yummy, but the pancakes didn't actually taste like pistachios. We agreed the french toast was the winner of the two and probably wouldn't order those pancakes again. We also split a side of bacon. Drinks: We got classic mimosas and I got a cappuccino, which I wouldn't recommend. It had that sour coffee flavor that I really don't like. Service: Good! Went to lunch with a friend on a Friday late morning. We made reservations as we heard it can get a little busy. They had both street and designated parking which was easy and convenient. Our server was exceptional and super patient as we took a little extra time to place our order. Now let's get to the good stuff, our food :) I ordered the chicken pasta which was delicious! The chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the pasta had a great flavorful. My friend really enjoyed the sweet potato hash with brussel sprouts and we each had drinks. Heather, Heather, Heather! Wow. Great neighborhood place. Who knew that such a great place would not only have a cute patio outdoors with fun chandeliers hanging but have a secrete too. What you ask? Well, the cinnamon rolls were possibly the best I've ever had. Blew us away. Waiter told us that the pastry chef came from a famous local place and it was easy to see that Heather cares about the quality of the food. Very nice coffee and cappuccino's. Love, love, love having this little gem in the neighborhood! Whether I am stopping by for a chai tea or ice cream/cookies for dessert, or sitting down for dinner, everything is always wonderful. If you're craving an egg salad sandwich then keep looking. No salt, no acidity, no flavor. For $12 I honestly expected to at least taste the sandwich. Asking for a 25% tip for a takeout order is also insane, especially when you don't include napkins or a fork when half the sandwich ends up in the tray due to the bread being borderline stale and pushing it all out on your first bite. Daisy got the Buddha Bowl. She sent it back because it was not hot. Instead of warming it up, they brought her a new portion, thereby wasting food. And it still wasn't hot. Meanwhile, our server was busy gabbing and viewing phone photos with a neighboring table so it was another server who "helped" with the Buddha Bowl. Our server never even stopped by our table to inquire if everything was satisfactory. The place has zero character, with larger expanses of stark white unadorned walls- except for two large bland paintings that are also mostly white and look like they came from a Home Goods store. Yum! I tried to come here once last year without reservations and was turned away. This time we reserved a few days in advance, and specifically requested the patio, and it worked out great. I think I should have tried again sooner because this is a really good place to eat. I came in on a rainy day in early March, but the patio was under a heated tent, so it was very comfortable. The only issue is that it was really loud in that tent; the acoustics in there are harsh when there is even an average number of customers talking normally. I ordered the chicken paillard pasta and my mom got a turkey sandwich. Everything was prepared really well. It all just tasted kind of perfect. I can't tell you how delighted I was by that pasta dish. I'm going to return here soon, but it will be a dilemma deciding between getting that pasta again and getting other things from the menu that looked good. And we had the weekend brunch menu; there are even more options at dinnertime. The indoor space is handsome; there is less seating than on the patio, though. There's a bar area and a counter that sells some artisanal food things like hot sauce and homemade Chex mix. So... I was sitting my office and was SUPER hungry but hadn't a clue what I was hungry for (I know I know totally first world problem) so I typed in yelps search bar "I'M HUNGRY!!!" We sat outside in the big tent and had a lovely if not elegant, affordable brunch. But I hadn't been there since that visit. So I thought why not. Flipped through people's reviews saw the Field Burger, my mouth instantly salivated and I immediately called in my order. My oh my!!! Friggin' JACKPOT!!!! This burger is perfectly done to my liking, a little pink but not red, bacon is crispy and the flavor... OH MY GOSH.... It's delicious. Somehow that word is insufficient. If you've never been to Heather's you gotta go. But not just for the meals (which are. Truly wonderful, but the baked goods at the front! Cookies, muffins, (some dude bout a whole layered LEMON RASPBERRY birthday cake (I seriously considered mugging him, except that someone somewhere wouldn't have gotten a birthday cake... I should have asked to attend... that cake was beautiful... they even gave him candles!) I digress... But not really. That's what Heather's does to you. And it's because of their staff. These are wonderfully hospitable people who intentionally work to make you have a lovely meal and experience. I visited Heather's at about noon on a Monday. The small restaurant was still pretty crowded and we were only seated right away because a reservation cancelled. Their menu is on-par with what I would expect from a cafe and I decided to grab the two eggs and toast your way. I got my eggs scrambled and got wheat toast. You also get to pick a side of meat, so I got the sausage patty. This food was DIVINE. I'm typically a French toast/pancake person but I am so glad I picked the eggs and toast. My wife and I were on our weekly "Try a new restaurant" Saturday. We have been wanting to try Heather's for a long time now and today we pulled the trigger. I am so glad we did. We made a reservation for the outside tent, which is highly recommended, on a pretty chilly day in the Twin Cities. We took an hour long walk around Lake Nokomis before hand, so I was ready for some nosh. I ordered an Indeed IPA while I perused the menu and it didn't take long to focus in on the Cubano. My always go to, they are pretty difficult to mess up. This one had Fischer Farms Roast Pork Loin, Ham, Gruyere, Pickled Onions, Pickled Jalapeño Peppers, Sweet Mustard Sauce, on a French Roll. I got a side salad for my accoutrement. It came out in about 10 minutes and I ordered an apple pie cider from a place in Duluth to have with my meal. The sandwich was huge and the bread was super fresh. Didn't look too pressed down like most Cubanos, but the ham was piled high and the cheese added a sweetness to it. It could have used more mustard, but they jalapeños were a nice addition, that I noticed in the final bites. I could only eat half of it, so I have a nice surprise waiting for me for a meal over the next few days. The side salad was spectacular, with a nice vinaigrette and super fresh greens. I was in (and have been in) Minneapolis for work, and the silver lining for that has been that I have been able to dine with some co-workers who I rarely get to see in real life. So the upside is huge, and it is less important exactly where wwe eat, but this was such a charming place it would have been fun to eat at even if I was by myself. The inside space is ecclectic and cool, with limited seating and would definitely recommend reservations for that. There is an ourside patio that is enormous and there were fleece blankets available to stave off the chill--later in the season they have heaters as well, but the night we were there I was just under dressed, but was quite confortable with the blanket. I had the Cuban sandwich with a side salad--I was tempted by the description of it which included: Roast Pork Loin, Ham, Gruyere,Pickled Onions, Pickled Jalepeno Peppers, Green Chilis, Sweet Mustard Sauce, on a French Roll--all the components that you would hope for and oh my, it was delicious. The pork was perfect, and all the accoutrements made it an excellent version of this classic sandwich. The bonus was that it was enormous, and I had the other half for lunch the next day. I accompanied it with a very nice white sangria and was very happy. My dining companion had the Teryaki Salmon Bowl, which included Edamame, Pickled Onions, Peppers and Onions, Avocado, Rice and Broccoli, which looked great as well. The source for the delicious pork in the Cuban is where they get their bacon, which I suspect is also delicious, and they do source locally, which I always appreciate--especially when you can taste the difference. read more

Fantastic food all around, and a great introduction to Minneapolis. It's a 6-hour drive here from Chicago, and I was feeling all of it. So I took the family to the neighborhood restaurant for dinner. Since I was hungry from the drive (and everyone else was not, owing to the abundance of road snacks), I ordered tots, which... everyone ate. Ah well. These are a must-order if you drop by; the aioli adds just a little bit of heat to creaminess, but the texture of the tots is a 10/10. Just a bit crispy, just a bit crunchy, vaguely resembling a hint of mashed potato on the inside, and not terrifically greasy. These are the best tater tots I've ever had. It was a great setup for the main course, which was... salad! I wanted fish *something* and the idea of pairing it with peak-of-summer greens sounded like a great idea... and it was. A great deal was happening on the plate in terms of texture, color, and flavor: purple, tender fingerling potatoes, perfectly blanched and shocked green beans, large and sour capers, biting olives, a variety of greens, perfectly hard-boiled eggs... for everything this salad had on it, all of it was done perfectly. Especially the tuna, which had a very thin, seared crust, and tasted like fresh tuna should. Heather's knocked this one out of the park.
