Tried Heaven Dragon based off a recommendation. I gave them 3 stars but would bump them to 3.5 if possible. The extra half star is for the price/portion ratio. Really a generous entree size along with the soup and egg roll. Price is great considering how everything is so expensive now. The negative for me was the taste which was rather bland and the preparation was lacking. No searing from the wok was evident on either the chicken or vegetables. Seemed like the ingredients were blanched first and then tossed in a bland brown sauce. They had the restaurant doors opened and the dinning area was rather warm. Guess trouble with the HVAC. Service was adequate. If you want quantity over quality then might be your place. Not bad but not 4 stars. read more

I've been coming to Heaven Dragon for the past 3 years pretty consistently. The food is always tasty, good flavors and spice levels. The service is great, the main waitress has even recognized and remembered my family when we come in now. Usually the restaurant is pretty quiet, so the ambiance is very intimate and gives a very family-business feeling. read more

All of their food is absolutely amazing. During Covid it was carry out only and we'd call ahead because it was always packed. It's a fantastic local place with great service and reasonable prices. Also glad the dining area is back open, nice place to go sit and enjoy a meal. read more

The dining room was rather disheveled. There was a huge evaporative cooler in the middle of the restaurant and boxes everywhere. The wait staff were very nice. The food was not great except for the pork fried rice was wonderful! We had the crab Rangoon and my hubby said it was fine but it tasted both fishy and tasteless to me. The General Tso I had needed salt and more spice-rather bland. The didn't have Diet Coke available for the hubs and he could only get it in a non-refillable bottle. Very strange. We have eaten here since they first opened and the food used to be amazing and reasonably priced but for the third time since Christmas, the food has been garbage!!! 1 is as low as I can go, Went there the other Friday night and was extremely disappointed. Ordered our food Chow Mein and Egg Foo Young. Chow Mein came out in reasonable time but was luke warm at best not Hot and it was Tastless. Egg Foo Young took over 20 minutes before I finally gave up and cancelled it. I asked about the food and gave several nonverbals to the waitress and all I got is "It is coming it takes time". Time for an Egg Omlete right, They WERE NOT Busy so that was not an excuse. Really enjoyed the veggie rice instead the usual pork fried or plain rice, try it! This place is sit down table service or call in and pick up. Service is generally pretty fast and they don't mess up the orders, very precise. The food quality hair has gone significantly down. Ordered egg, foo young, and it was disgusting. Looked and tasted like it was a frozen patty that they just deep fried. It was too perfectly shaped. At $ 11 & change I thought was reasonable. Food was done quick enough - impressed. At home, opening the dish I found out why it was $ 11 - bare chicken there and ALL water crest. So dish should be call Kung Pao water crest. Will try other restaurant for sure....no chance of coming back and I am sure they don't care either. 1 star for how quick dish was done. read more

My parents are new to Rio Rancho and we are a family that loves our Chinese food. So our first task was to find the good Chinese food in town. When we found Heaven Dragon, we knew they were home because this food is amazing! We found OUR place when it comes to Chinese! So far the teriyaki bowl is a huge hit! I personally adore the beef and broccoli without water chestnuts. To be fair, I don't know if they even serve it with water chestnuts, I just always order it without to be safe. The ma po tofu has also been a huge winner for us! You'll notice I haven't posted any photos yet. That's because we always eat it too fast to take any. Hopefully I'll rectify that soon! We also haven't been able to eat inside yet due to the COVID-19 situation but plan to do so as soon as we are able. We will be patronizing them as long as they are open. read more

Heaven Dragon carry out was a good Chinese place before Covid. However, post Covid? Give it a pass. The sesame chicken was so over cooked and dry that I could hardly swallow it! Tastiest thing we ate was the sweet and sour sauce for the sweet and sour chicken. Nothing was seasoned. It is no longer the Heaven Dragon that it used to be. Maybe the dining room is better but their carry out leaves a lot to be desired. read more

First time here. General Tao chicken was tough and sea food taste is evident on foods that do not contain sea food (fishy taste). Front glass of business is filthy but the tables and chairs appeared clean. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Storage boxes and bins in dining area do not instill confidence. Delicious! Highly reccomend the pork buns, general Tso's chicken, shrimp fried rice, and shrimp lo mein. Im used to the chicken being over fried, but it seems they got it perfect now! I usually go here with a friend, it's a great spot and the server always recognizes us and gives us great service! Always checking on us, seeing if we need any refills. The food is always hot, fresh, and tasty! The wait time is typically 10-15 min depending what you order (may come out faster than that). The Crab Rangoons have become my favorite. I personally don't have ANY issues with this place, it gives an authentic Chinese ambiance. (well at least to me) I used to visit another chinese restaurant when I was a little girl and it gives off the same vibes. If the to go boxes on the side next to their POA system in their dining room is something you have an issue with, that's a you problem. but overall my true review is definitely 5 stars! Albuquerque don't like good food especially Chinese. Couldn't get away with this in any other major city. The food was tasteless. They know they ain't proud of this product or don't eat this garbage at their own house, but they will be more than happy to take your money. I hate when people complain, but today I must. The portions were very small. The Chicken and Garlic had about an once of Chicken. I don't even want to know if it really was Chicken. The server sat in front of me at an open table ( Their ONLY customer) the whole time except to deliver my meal. She never came to ask if everything was acceptable. She mumbled something when she dropped of the bill and but did say thank you in a very low and unemotional voice as she picked up my money. I'm still wondering if I should tip or not. I'm really not happy. The food tasted good and quantites were undersized, so most of my complaints are directed at an uninspired server. I'm leaving NO tip. SORRY! read more

What's sad, is this poor caliber of a restaurant, on a major street connecting the cities of Rio Rancho to Albuquerque. Everything is short cuts. The egg drop soup is tasteless and gelatinous. Sad. The "spring roll" alternative to their egg rolls is fried, greasy and lacks any veggies. Sad. Shrimp Yaki Soba, 80% instant rice, puff noodles (is that even a noodle?..:), no veggies with warmed up pre-cooked shrimp. Sad. This restaurant strictly wants to turn a dime, rather than make the effort to provide good ingredients and a well prepared enjoyable dining experience. Very dirty, very unhygienic and wouldn't recommend. Brought my partner here to eat and there were dozens of flies by the window, we didn't even touch the food because we didn't feel comfortable. I paid and left. While we were leaving we circled around the property and saw that they were preparing RAW meat behind the building out side where there were even more flies. Crab Rangoon is delicious along with some of this best fried rice. The dinning room was a surprise with its open and airy vibe.

Carry-out order, nice experience - order ready right on time. We had MuShu Veg, Eggplant w/ garlic, Szechuan Beef and Kung Po Chicken. Portions were generous. Not much chicken in the Kung Po and no piece larger than a quarter inch. The dominant taste was of the tin the canned baby corn came in. Bad in so many ways. There was some beef in the other, but it never was near Szechuan or any Chinese spices - mostly just bland. Note: both meat dishes were listed "Hot & Spicy". The Mu Shu vegetable dish was fine, but it was the pancakes and hoisin sauce speaking here. Only the eggplant was deserving of a re-order, so not worth the trip. read more

My brother and his wife wanted to take me out for birthday dinner and chose Chinese. The other local restaurant we had gone in the past was closed so we tried Heaven Dragon. There were only a few tables occupied when we got there and none when we left but maybe that is par for the course. We were promptly greeted and brought to a table. Very nice service, prompt, polite, all you could ask for. We ordered a dinner for three which contained a variety of their offerings. Everything tasted great and there was more than enough food for three hungry people. Will return some day! read more

I ordered a small Hunan Shrimp with Spring rolls a drink. They only put 3 shrimps. Charged me 13.77. I find out the next day they charged me 11.77 on my debit card!!!! My bank caught it and froze my account. Don't go there on 528 by Albertsons. Their stingy with their food and try to take more money from her card. read more

Came in on a Sunday night close to closing time. We were seated and treated well. Our food came out hot and fresh. I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix. It read Shrimp in garlic sauce and General Tso Chicken. The dish claimed to be HoT as well. .. ....... my food comes out in a bright red,thick and gloppy- super sweet sauce, absolutely no spice in it. There was probably a 1/3 of a cup of leftover sauce after I ate. Not happy about the misleading menu, and I ate without complaint, but wasnt what i was expecting. My son and I stopped by. General Tso chicken D19 was not very spicy had to add sriracha to it but very tasty. Portion size was not very large but enough to fill your stomach. Looked very clean in seating area which is a plus. Price is very reasonable and waitress actually spoke English, lol. Non-Asian waitress is why. Food came very fast maybe less than 8 minutes after ordering. Egg rolls waitress stated they were fresh as compared to not fresh? Have to think about that one, because of that knocked them down to three stars. Cookies are on the stale side- think that was the only bad part of the experience. read more
