Lemon Pepper Idaho Fries - HALF

Vegan wings and fries! Menu pic/pdf does a good job of noting the vegan friendly options and you can order delivery from them via Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grub Hub. LOVE the Peri-Peri sauce with vegan ranch. Lemon pepper fries are fire. Buns aren't noted as vegan friendly, but maybe this will change. Awesome options tho!

It's been a while since I had Lonerider's beer and at one point it slipped my mind to write a…read morereview about it but then I realized there was still a review I haven't posted yet for the brewery and decided to rectify that oversight. We had three different beers from this brewery, one in which appears to be no longer in production. The discontinued one was a pale ale by the name of Peacemaker. It was refreshing and enjoyable to have. Flavor features with this beer are that typically seen with a pale ale which are hoppy, malty and sweet. The beer is very light bodied which is nice and very smooth. Unfortunate that it's out of production. The other two beers we had are still being made. One was Shotgun Betty which is a Hefeweizen. Not bad but sometimes I struggle with Hefes and the strong banana clove flavor which was the case here. It was good that it was light bodied like most Hefes are and smooth also. The final beer was the Sweet Josie Brown Ale which I think was my favorite. The sweet, malty and coffee flavors are very enjoyable and like the prior two beers a nice smooth body to this fine dark beer. I am glad I recalled this brewery experience as I felt it was important to post the beers we had and what we thought of them!

They have a large beer and mixed drinks offering. The service is top notch. When I went there with a friend, I asked about sitting outside and the GM lit a fire for us. She was super welcoming and accommodating! Thanks for a great evening!

I decided to branch out and try the Parisian Grilled Cheese -- Brie, ham, and raspberry preserves-- and it too me right back to my favorite cafe in Ireland! The tomato soup, a must with grilled cheese, was bright and fresh, fragrant with basil! Definitely check out the test kitchen menu-- there are always fun new dishes and every bite is delicious! I'm usually with a group of 4 and more, and the service is always prompt and friendly!

We followed by sharing three entrees: 1) the Wisconsin grilled cheese sandwich (swap sourdough for wheat bread): good basic grilled cheese, the apple slices were thin and not super crispy, I didn't think they added more than a smidgen of flavor, 2) shrimp and grits: not as cheesy as many, with a little kick to the shrimp, and 3) classic mac & cheese. Classic, but also basic: next time I'll go for something more interesting. We finished off with the banana pudding, which was disappointing: many slices of hard, flavorless fruit. We split on the whipped topping: I thought it was good, fam said it tasted like Cool Whip. Service was good, server asked if I wanted a refill when I started getting low.

If it's a beautiful day, I'd definitely recommend sitting outside instead. Still, the inside has a cozy, laid-back feel that works well. Shoutout to Qua, who was both the hostess and our server. She was welcoming, attentive, and handled everything smoothly, even as a few more parties came in while she was the only one serving at the time. One thing I really appreciated was that she let us know upfront what items were out of stock before we even looked at the menu. That level of transparency is huge and makes the experience so much better. My son ordered a slider with fries from the kids' menu. It comes with just one slider, so I ordered a second, definitely the right call. He enjoyed it, and the fries were cooked well, just a little on the salty side for our taste (ketchup helped balance that out). I had the shrimp tacos. It's packed and perfect portion for lunch. The shrimp, pineapple slaw, and chipotle mayo was a nice mix. The restaurant was clean (including the bathrooms). The location is also a plus, super close to the Art Museum, which makes it a great stop before or after visiting. Overall enjoyable, and I'd come back, especially to try more of the menu and the drinks.

Christmas time is beautiful, as they decorate the ceiling with garments and ornaments and other decorations around the massive restaurant, but reservations are needed no later than 6 months in advance. If you're fine waiting 3 hours for a table max, then you will be fine. Every single time we come to Angus Barn, something is different. Now they give you a soup or salad with your meal, along with bread! The cheese and crackers are famous among the people and are a great way to start your meal. The bread is so fresh also! All components in their house salad is great. Everything is awesome! The prime rib is tender and has such good flavor. Their mac n' cheese is the way to go. Their recipe is constantly changing. Like what I previously said, something is different every time you come to Angus Barn. The chocolate chess pie is the best I've had. This is a MUST when dining at Angus Barn. You HAVE to get the chocolate chess pie. The service is some of the best in the restaurant business and all do a great job at explaining things. So kind and professional! Once again, if you're around Raleigh and don't come to Angus Barn, you are missing out. I highly recommend you come. So good!

Ordered a filet baked potato creamed spinach and some raspberry sherbet for dessert Food was a solid 3 stars, no more. Steak was ok, cooked exactly how I wanted it, but not a great piece of steak, just ok. Maybe 2.5 stars or if being generous 3 stars, but that's all. I get much better steak at my local butcher. Prices ok as well. No place I would rush back to, I can tell you that. Glad I went doe!
