Went to a birthday dinner. I got the Lakeside Club my husband got the Paul's Pasta. The food was good. The service was good. They got us what we needed when we asked for it. The food was hot it came out fast. They play music on Fridays and Saturdays so that was cool to listen to some music. Beautiful evening to try this restaurant and sit on the terrace overlooking the lake. We were first seated by a really loud couple and were quickly reseated when my husband asked the hostess. We were brought the wrong appetizer and I had to go inside to tell them. When she set it down I told her we had ordered calamari and she said that's right and walked away. It was clearly ceviche. Calamari, grouper and ahi salad were excellent. My husband had a Bloody Mary which he enjoyed but thought it had maybe too much pepper. I had a grapefruit margarita which was very good. I ordered a second one which never came, even after I asked for it a second time and was told "she would check on it". No one really checked on us after we ordered except to bring drinks and food. Patio was busy but there were plenty of servers standing around inside. We'll eat on the wharf again and try one of the other restaurants, but would probably return here, too. read more

To be fair the main attraction here is the view of Lake Hefner. And if you are lucky as I was to get the lake view table, it's worth it. Food wise was decent, a little bit over the top on salt however it wasn't terrible. The shrimp to be fair was pretty darn good I have to admit, cooked well. The blackened chicken pasta was okay, stick with the seafood if you go here, that's my only opinion. Service was definitively great, staff were friendly. read more

Went for lunch today and normally expect to spend 30.00,however, I must complain about my lunch today. I got a wedge salad with shrimp. It was literally a wedge of iceberg, 2 or 3 cherry tomatoes, and 3 cold shrimp. That was it. No bacon bits, no reduction, nothing. I got water to drink. My meal was 27.00 and some change !!! Too expensive for OKC ! Or for what I got !! Very disappointing guys. Everything else was ok. read more

The food is pretty good - what little of it they give you. Lol. Despite the small portion size, the prices are pretty steep. For instance, for a side of red beans and rice (two of the cheapest and most plentiful food items on the planet) you are charged $7.00 for about 3 tablespoons worth. The sanitation levels are inconsistent. Seems every two months they have a sanitation problem. The live music is stellar! read more

I have gone to Hefner grill multiple times. The view from the restaurant is what drew me to this restaurant, and is what keeps me coming back. Previously, I only came here for lunch or dinner, but recently I went for breakfast. Their lunch and dinner is good, they have the typical American menu that you would expect. Sandwiches, burgers, etc. Their breakfast is what stands out to me. I had the eggs Benedict with potatoes and fruit on the side, and it was fantastic. It was well cooked, nicely presented, and the perfect portion. I will be returning for breakfast soon. The slightest complaint that I have is the service. If you're in a time crunch, this restaurant probably won't be ideal. The staff doesn't check on you quite as often as I'd like, but that can be expected with such a large and busy restaurant. read more

Giving 1-star for the excellent service however the food has declined more than when we used to frequent this place several years ago. My hubby and I never thought this place was bad, but we also never thought it was that great either. However, for some things they were okay. I recently went for my friend's birthday, and although the ambiance and service was perfect.. I can't honestly say the same about their food quality. I had their soup of the day which was a crab bisque and a Caesar salad for $16. My soup tasted extremely spongy. It did not have the texture of a traditional bisque. The crab tasted weird, and not like there was much of it, just a little garnish on top. I think the soup base was cauliflower, it was just gross. The salad was also not super fresh. Some of the greens were wilted, which I never understand why restaurants even serve wilted greens. It was also overdressed. Overall, I would never come back unless invited back by a friend, because I don't enjoy spending money on food that isn't good. read more

Great location right off Lake Hefner big dinning room with terrific lake views hostess was friendly sat us in a timely manner service was a tad bit lacking seem like a track meet passing closely by our tables every 2 minutes delivering food somewhat distracting. Bar area was nice and open with Lake views as well was in on a Saturday night enjoyed the live jazz music softly playing. About the service they got our drink orders wrong and botched our side orders besides that food was delicious also table we were sitting at was in need of repair table top was loose very annoying not sure how they could miss that will give them another try maybe add another. read more

We've eaten here several times over the years and it's consistently good, but we had a great experience last night, so it was time to write a review! Lindy was our server and she was top notch. Attentive, conversational, and very kind! The calamari (forgot pic) we started with was perfect as always and I'm obsessed with the crab cakes. They're perfectly crispy and packed with crap and not just fillers. The salad they come on is a nice touch, it's an appetizer, but perfect for a smaller meal! After many visits the inconsistencies are overwhelming! I brought a guest who had allergies, but they dismissed what our server wrote down, VERY DANGEROUS! Yesterday I decided just to get a burger no pickles , it came with pickles on the burger and aside of extra pickles. I like to visit Hefner Grill when I meet up with friends due to their great drinks, food and scenery. As usual the drinks and food were delicious. There was some type of mix up with our reservation and available seats. The hostess told us that we couldn't be seated because a party before us had to be seated. But no one was in the lobby but us and there were many empty tables. We weren't pressed for time so went to the bar while we waited for our table. Surprisingly, the bartender was able to seat us immediately at a nearby table. I wasn't sure what that was all about but from there things went smoothly. read more

Service was exceptional, food was exactly what we asked for, however I don't mind spending $160.00 for dinner for me and my wife but I highly suggest revaluing things. Wonderful views with food! What more can you ask for? Came with a group of friends for a birthday party. Reservations were made with no issues. The manager was super nice. We were taken care of wonderfully by our server that night. And the food was delicious! I got the salmon. It was tender and full of flavor. Lots of drink options as well. The parking was definitely confusing, and was very packed! So beware of that. With views so beautiful, you can expect to spend about $30-40 on food on drinks per person. We have been to Hefner grill many times when we visit OKC OK. Everything was good except the waiter Ivan. Cory showed up later in our dinner and he was a delight. Next time we will ask for Cory. We had the Calamari for an appetizer, it was delicious. Salmon very good. Ritz crusted cod excellent! Gumbo fantastic and fish and chips were scrumptious. The ultimate margaritas were sweet and weak. I had to get an $8.00 shot of tequila to make it more than lemonade. At a restaurant of this caliber we anticipate that the manager would come by to make sure all was good. It wasn't busy, but there was no manager visit. We enjoyed the view of the lake until the shades closed. Overall we enjoyed our dining experience, but Cory would have made it a 5star night. read more

I'm not sure where the other ratings come from but this was nearly the worst seafood I've ever eaten, and that is saying a lot. Who ever did the cooking (notice I didn't use the term chef?) sure liked salt. I'm going to double up on my blood pressure meds or go see my cardiologist after eating here. Calamari? too salty~! Catfish bites? to salty~! Ritz crusted cod was as soggy as can be like it was heated up in a microwave with mashed potato's that were again too salty. Vera cruz was too salty and my wife only at half. Note to the owners: Teach the waitstaff to pay attention. When 2 people leave 80% of the food ordered on the table have them send a manager over because something is wrong. Did the waiter ask if everything was ok? yes he did. but he didn't even listen to my response of "not really" and he was off. bottom line low quality food with an average view. don't fall for the hype. As we sat down, I first noticed that the restaurant had a good structure in place. Since staff appears to take the job seriously, they have 2 managers walking around making sure things are good. I had their signature benedict, good portion size, and it was delicious. My poached eggs were cooked right. And they didn't skimp out on the fresh fruits. I thought the restaurant was actually a little dirty and maybe because it was Mother's Day , staff is very busy and people were tired but it just didn't seem to be running very well ? Went to Hefner Grill for brunch. I love the atmosphere. Makes me feel like I"m back on the coast. The food is good. I don't know why I did it, but I ordered the "Eggs Baltimore" - poached eggs over crab cakes. These crab cakes, in no way/shape/form resemble or taste like Baltimore crab cakes. No where in and around Maryland, would you find a panko crusted hockey puck out of a box from a freezer. Shameful. Our server had said they had been "improved". I believed him. I regret it. But the bloody Mary's were great, my hot hub's pancakes were great and he was happy. I loved the grits. They were creamy and delicious. Please, I beg you, remove the word "Baltimore" from your menu. The crab dip is really good, but it's Oklahoma crab dip, NOT Baltimore. Good brunch, though. Will be back soon to sit on that patio. read more

We LOVE Hefner Grill! The ceviche is my fave! The Ritz crusted cod is my hubby's fave. The soup of the day was the gumbo and it was awesome. I can't stand when gumbo is overly spicy and this had very little heat which was great. For some reason it seems their turnover rate for staff is extremely high. Out server was kind of clueless and would disappear. It was date night so we didn't really mind, I was the only one that noticed. We will still keep going, but definitely going to keep sitting at the bar instead of a table. read more
