This place is just alright I'd say, they have great outside area and 2 bars - separate beer and liquor which is pretty great since the line to the beer side is usually shorter and goes faster. The only issue is that the selection of beer is poor - they all are pretty much the same and bartenders on that side are usually rude and don't want to give any recommendations. The liquor side has great selection of drinks and bartenders are usually friendly and patient with customers that's why I guess to get a drink takes a while. This bar is pretty average but always full of people so if you are looking for good ambiance this is place to be. read more

What I can say is they have great drinks. Hence my 4 star. Not a fan of the ladies restroom door without the open feature from your foot during the time we are in and they also have no napkins close enough to open the door and throw it away without touching the door again. Quality of food has gone down. Fries and BLTA were always our go-to... and they used to be in our opinion the BEST fries and BLT. Now the fries are no longer actually battered and just taste like frozen fries. The BLTA barely has any avocado--in fact I feel like ours didn't have any at all. The amount of bacon is minuscule. Held off on reviewing this neighborhood bar but now is the time. I was actually excited when this opened up but was disappointed with its delivery. The outside area is very nice and has plenty of seating with fire pits and a great ambiance. Not to be confused with King's Beer Garden which is also located in The Heights, Heights Bier Garten is also a German beer garden. King's is a little more gimmicky while Heights is all about the patio life. They have a large patio with picnic style seating and some lounge-type seating in the corners. Bars are located on both ends and have an extensive beer menu. They also have German food you can order. While I've only been there for drinks, the food did look good from what I saw. If cocktails are more your thing, they have a special little area that makes craft cocktails. If you're trying to watch some sports, they have TVs in the bar area. Heights Beer Garten features a fantastic outdoor area to hang out in provided the weather agrees. Two bars flank the area - one side is beer and the other for mixed drinks and liquor. I felt the beers are a little pricier here, but the atmosphere is certainly worth it. Outdoor seating is ample for the large number of people that gather here, though I can see it getting over-crowded. Dogs are allowed in the area, which is a great feature for those with furry companions. The only odd thing to me is that people are allowed to smoke in the gathering area, but I suppose that's a rule that's different in Texas. The middle courtyard has a kind of gazebo in the middle surrounded by various tables and seats/benches that are covered by umbrellas. We saw a group hold a baby shower in the middle gazebo. Very nice! After having some drinks we ordered some snacks. We got the crispy pork (chicharron) and roasted cauliflower. Both were seasoned well and not too greasy. Hit the spot for snacking while drinking =) One thing to note is that this place is dog friendly with lots of patrons bringing their dogs to enjoy the nice weather. So, so happy to announce it scores a solid 5 star review on my end! We heard about this trendy addition to the Heights area online, and was mainly interested in the hammock situation. Just walking onto the patio, you get a very upscale, trendy feeling, and have to decide what's more important: picking from one of two bars, petting all the dogs on the patio, ordering from the delicious menu, or slouching in one of three types of hammocks. It's a lot to take in. Brace yourselves. I went to one of the bars and had a nice young bartender explain to me how the set up works. One bar serves the hard liquor, while the other bar serves wine and others. He handed me and my guest a menu and explained we could place our order at the bar and receive a tracker number when ready. We ordered a Chicken Croissant, mimosa, and lemonade, took our number, and went to sit in one of the egg-like hammocks. Our food came out relatively fast, and was just adorable presented. The drinks taste amazing- both freshly squeezed. The food was downright delicious. I personally thought the Apple-topping was a little "eh" by itself, but combined with the chicken- it was a perfect combination! No complaints there. Yeah it's a bier garden but is it really? It's like a bar with a great patio. The pours are small, the bar is small, there's a boujie cocktail bar that's a part of the mix, and the prices are high. Overall I'd say it's a beer barten that's catering to some elitist crowd and hey maybe that's working. For us it was not. I'm not willing to overpay for craft beer that is literally available everywhere else a few bucks cheaper. Plus undersized cocktails from Worcester's Annex (which is a different business despite sharing real estate and a kitchen?). Plus the food that was crazy over priced. The burger was $14 and included no toppings- they asked if we wanted to "add tomato" nah can't afford it. Plus we paid $2.50 for fries which was less than 10 per plate. Honestly- $16.50 for bread cheese and meat with 10 fries that I had to walk to the bar to order. I'll wrap up with my original point that someone appreciates this yuppy beir garden concept with high prices and no bier garden features but it wasn't us. read more

They do offer some seating inside but it's not as large as their outdoor seating. They offer food as well, it's just not a very large menu, brunch is also served on Saturdays and Sundays and they're open until 2a everyday. I really did enjoy this bar, it was very relaxing and just a chill spot to hangout while enjoying some drinks with good company. Heights Bier Garten is a really cool spot. We showed up around 7 on a Friday night - expecting a madhouse - but we were actually able to find good parking and made our way inside. Every indoor table we saw had a Reserved sign, but we found one in the bar on the right side that was open until 8. While waiting for the rest of our party, we ordered a few of the ciders and found them to be really tasty. The pretzel was really good, but everyone loved the perfectly crispy french fries. To eat, I had the schnitzel sandwich with a fried egg. It was about as expected - bread with fried pork, but I still managed to finish it. The only downside is the only ketchup provided is curry-flavored, which is not my favorite. The best part about the Bier Garten was the atmosphere - plenty of people buzzing around and good drinks. The majority of the venue is outside but thankfully there is a cover and tons of misters so you don't quite feel the heat even if you're out in the middle of the day.
