My experience with Helfman Ford was excellent. Joe (Internet sales) arranged my purchase from out of state and even offered to pick me up from the airport. The vehicle was ready for me and signing the paperwork went quickly. Everyone I spoke with was professional and genuine. Half way home the alarm inexplicably started sounding and killed the engine, stranding me at a gas station. Joe and Sal (aftermarket) got on the phone and helped troubleshoot until we found a crummy aftermarket alarm installed by the previous owner. Once removed, all was well. Thanks guys! read more

This is the worst service dealership I've ever experienced. I took my F-150 with 65k miles in for a transmission issue. It took them 10 days to fix and no offer of a rental car or loaner even though I discussed from day one. Service managers have no clue what it takes to provide good customer service.... it's the little things..... after spending $2,000 on vehicle just out of warranty I expect a little offer of customer service, especially after taking 10 days a costing me an additional $400 of car rental. The advice from the service manager was to buy the extended warranty next time... thanks Ford! After spending $2k, they gave me back a dirty truck, no gas ( 20 miles left after they drove it 60-70 miles troubleshooting) and the oil pan sound guard/ Shield fell off 20 miles down the road. RIP OFF!! MAKE SURE YOU LOOK AT THE WINDOW STICKER!! Helfman Ford advertises an MSRP that is 1k over the manufactures MSRP. I was going to purchase a 2021 F-150 but the sales person advised me that they are charging 2k over sticker and if you don't look at the window sticker you will pay 3k over sticker. If you decide to buy from Helfman make sure you know what INTEREST RATE they calculated your payment with.I have an excellent credit rating. Make sure you thoroughly read what you are signing!!! Don't let the finance guy fast talk you or sell you all the BS add-ons (i.e. paint coating, anti-theft). The tire insurance maybe a good deal. Take your time to read what you are signing. Calculate payments and interest on your phone. I promise you it will save you thousands of $$$$$. I went to Doggett Ford and had a much more pleasant and honest experience. Walked out when the Finance Manager told us that if $300.00 was our concern, then we shouldn't be buying a $30,000 car. Seriously? Just because I asked to take off a feature? Aren't we allowed to customize our vehicle to our needs? He also over estimated special rims when we asked to get a customized Mustang. I guess he was trying to scare us, so we could get a car off the lot instead of doing a custom order. What a horrible strategy to push a sale! I gladly took my $30,000+ to a different dealership. I emailed the General Manager about how rude his employee was, but apparently he doesn't believe in customer satisfaction, so he never replied back. read more

Terribly Incompetent In October 2017 a semi-trailer truck rear ended my Ford Fusion Energi and it was totaled. I liked the car so I decided to replace it with another Ford Fusion Energi. I couldn't find one that was exactly the color and had the packages I wanted, but after contacting several dealerships Helfman Ford said they would order one for me. I was told it would take 8 weeks and it would certainly be available before the end of the year. Since my car had been totaled, I did not have a car but I though getting by for 8 weeks would only be somewhat inconvenient. I put down $2000 for them to order the car. The 8 weeks pass and I call to check on the status of the car. I am told the salesman is no longer working for them and they would look into the order and call me back. When they called me back they said it would be 2 more weeks before it was available. I asked this salesman if it would actually be 2 weeks or 2 months. He told me 2 weeks was probably too short and 2 months was probably too long and that the previous salesman had "overpromised". I am told they will call me to keep me up to date on what is happening. Two weeks pass and no calls. Another week passes and I decide to call. The salesman tells me he will look into it and call me back in 10 minutes. Two hours pass and the he finally calls. I am told they don't know what happened and it did not look like the car would be available at all. They do offer to refund my $2000, but I have been waiting 11 weeks, without a car, and I am told they do not know what happened. That is pretty much the definition of incompetence. Also, if I had not called them after 3 weeks I highly suspect I would still be waiting on their call. read more

These guys are good- the reviews are correct- you have to do what I did- set up about 5 different email addresses and bargain back and forth with them for a few days- the Sales Manager- Brock seems to be the easiest to deal with in all truthfulness. I got them down to 25,000 for a new Mustang convertible from a KBB value of $28,000. The MSRP was $33,000. So not bad at all. read more

I bought a battery from Helfman Ford 2 years ago and the battery is still under warrenty. I went back to exchange it and the service employee was so rude and harsh. He kept telling me I need my reciept the problem is that my reciept along with many other reciepts and items were stolen when our house was broken into but he would not let me explain this and he would not give me any other options to what I can do. To top it all off this is my fathers only form of transprotaion because he is wheel chair bound. read more

This dealership is a JOKE!! I purchased a 2013 Ford F150 from here in 2012 and did not experience any problems at the dealership at first. All my problems started when the truck started to mess up. The first two months I had it I had two batteries replaced.The brakes started to mess up so I took it in and low and behold I had to have rotors replaced at 10,000 miles. Iasked the services dept why and they told me I probably drove through high water while pulling a trailer......WHAT??? I have never pulled anything in my truck or diven in high water. The next great part of the truck was the hard jolt in transmission that I started to experience early on. I took my truck back there 6 times within a 4 month period and was told that the jolt I was experiencing was called a "Bump Stump". These service reps are a joke feeding you with lines of bullshit to make their company look good. I had horrible experiences with getting anything handled with my truck or better yet getting it fixed. Long story short I traded in that CRAP truck and bought a Dodge that has been running perfect ever since. I will never send anybody to purchase a vehicle here, so if you are considering it consider this your WARNING!!!! Ford is CRAP and everybody who works at the service department at Helfman is full of it too!!!!! read more

They seem to be very organized and ensured that I had all my belongings and doubled check all information. I just wanted to tell you all about the wonderful experience I had two years ago when I first met and worked with Earl McFarland. I stumbled into the new car showroom thinking it was for used cars, braced for the "Used car sale's man attack". Instead this soft spoken gentleman approached me and instantly made me feel welcomed. I've researched and shopped around for cars these last couple of weeks. Helfman Ford had the lowest price for one of the styles I was looking for. I met with Shaun McKelvey who showed me different trims of this vehicle. I immediately felt comfortable around him. Totally cool dude. We talked like friends - which is exactly what I needed. I later met David Cooke who was very cool, friendly and put me at ease. He offered me a better deal than I expected. I still shopped around at other dealerships, some were Fords - others weren't. In the end, I came back to Helfman Ford. Shaun McKelvey was once again very friendly and helpful, then I met with Marcus St. Germain - cool dude who also went out of his way to help a picky guy like me. We came up with financing that was exactly what I wanted. Then, I met Sal Vela - yet another cool dude. He too explained a few things that helped me out. In the end - I bought my new car from them and couldn't be happier. I got a good deal - and all four men I worked with were polite, professional gentlemen. There were a few others who introduced themselves to me and made my experience there very comfortable. What a joke... We had a confirmed appointment to see a very specific car. Confirmed by the dealership's owner. We get there at our appointment time and are told the car sold, but they have another similar car (more expensive) then they can't find either car. Finally we are told the car we originally came to see is with the owner tonight and he won't be back till tomorrow. Yeah no thanks. I was very disappointed in the body work done to my car here. I probably could have gone to some no-named shop and had better work done. My insurance does work through them though, so I had no choice. First off, they took WAY longer than expected. The had the date set for 2 weeks after I brought my car in and when that 2 weeks after came, the date was changed to the next week. I assume this happened because they are lazy and since it was through insurance they didn't even try getting it done sooner. They also put a crack in my windshield, which they claim was there before and a microscopic invisible "rock" had started it. I now have to go through my insurance again to get this taken care of, which takes up even more of my time and money. They also failed to mention this crack until AFTER I paid for my car. I brought in my damaged car to get FIXED and then I received a damaged car back. I really did expect more from Ford, but maybe it was just this location that has horrible body shop workers. read more

My car sustained cosmetic damage so I brought it to Helfman's body shop. The person who is responsible for my repair has repeatedly given me increasing later dates for completion, none of which have been accurate. The repair has so far taken 1 month. The original estimate was for 1 - 2 weeks. I have never received a status update; I call every couple of days just to hear I need to be patient and "these things take time." Don't use this body shop. read more

I bought a used 2009 Ford Focus here. They sold me an extended warranty for $6000 extra for six years with a $100 deductible per visit. Total rip off on the warranty. Also, there was a red stain they promised to get out on the passenger front carpet. They told me they would call me to schedule a follow up to do it. They never did. Do not leave the lot of this place with your newly purchased car until they have done everything you asked. I never got a follow up call about the car or any of it. There was also a bad smell in the car. Come to find out they did not clean underneath the back bench. There was spilled soda, a prescription paper for heparin, a bunch of spoiled food that had fallen under the back row cushion, and trash in general. They did not do a good job cleaning my car before I left the lot. I have been back to use their service center and they do decent work, but don't take older model cars here. They suck at finding parts on anything over ten years old. For service you would be better off going to Prime 1 Car Care in Sugar Land off of Lexington Blvd. I am not affiliated with Prime 1 but I have used their repair services countless times. They are affordable and honest. Helfman usually has a long wait too even for basic services like chipped windshield repair. I had to wait between two and three hours on my most recent visit with both kids. read more

After my vehicle was jump started, I drove to Helfman, and with no appointment, I was able to wait while my vehicle was serviced, under warranty. They made this process simple for me. I thought I liked Helfman Ford as this is the 2nd vehicle I have purchased from them. However, today's experience in the service dept changed my mind. My day started off with my truck, a 2016 Explorer, not starting this morning. I got a jump from roadside assistance and then I called Helfman to see if I could bring my vehicle in. I had to call 3x before someone in the service dept answered. So finally, Ian answers and I tell him what has happened. He says, yeah, c'mon in and we'll get you checked out. I get to Helfman and find Ian. I ask him to add an oil change to the service request since it's time. He says sure, no problem. Fast forward 2 hrs, they call me to the cashier to check out. I look at my invoice and don't see an oil change. I go outside and find Ian and I ask did they do the oil change? He responds, No, I forgot to add it. I'm sorry. REALLY???? I leave to go to work and I call the service dept manager, Charles to talk to him about what has transpired. I got excuses and I'm sorry! I am not a happy customer. I will take my truck elsewhere for it's routine maintenance and will NOT purchase another vehicle from them next time in the market to buy. read more

Kenny Baker was an absolute pleasure to work with at Helfman Ford. We didn't know exactly what we wanted other than an F150. Kenny was extremely knowledgeable about the F150 and took the time to educate us on the different trim levels and optional features. My wife uses a wheelchair and we explained our plan for her to be driving the F150 with special handicapped modifications. Kenny took the time to understand how that would affect our vehicle purchase. Kenny was considerate of my wife's disability and brought several F150 examples to the front lot. We got inside them, and Kenny explained the differences between each example, so my wife could see them and compare. This helped us to make the best purchase decision for us. Once we settled on the F150 we wanted Kenny offered an excellent sale price that we immediately accepted. After the financing was finished Kenny introduced us to our new F150 and again demonstrated our trucks specific features and optional settings. We can't say enough about how happy we are with Kenny's professionalism and the sales experience. My wife and I are in our 50s and we have bought quite a few vehicles through the years. This pertains Only to the Body Shop! I brought my BMW here because I know the Assistant Manager of the Body Shop. Prior to this experience, I had some damage to my BMW and, also, brought my car here. On this visit (3/2012), Helfman Ford did an A+ job. Actually, I give them 5 stars. However, this time (9/2014), their attention to detail and final work product was Not what I expected. Here is my detailed review: 1. The paint and body work, including but not limited to the color match, the texture match, the lack of tape lines, and overspray are exceptional! Absolutely first rate! 2. The piecing together of the interior after it had been disassembled, however, was atrocious. One piece in the interior was assembled incorrectly. In fact, it was laying on the floor when I opened the door. This was before I ever took delivery of my car. When I picked up my car and drove it there was a major rattle. I took the car back at which time they realized one of the interior panel was installed incorrectly.This, of course, required a second visit to the body shop. a) After driving the car for a week, I began noticing another major rattle. I opened the trunk only to notice half the panel fasteners Missing! In fact, the trunk panels were flopping around without any security. Of course, this is the source of the other rattle. I called the body shop and spoke with my Insurance guy and he had the nerve to ask me if These fasteners were there when I brought the car to them! This problem I will fix myself as I am not going back. In summary, if you want exceptional customer service, a great final product, a body shop that will insure that every detail is done correctly, than Helfman Ford Body Shop is NOT your place. However, if you what you want is 85% job, than this is your place. read more

I purchased a F150 earlier this month from Helfman Ford and I couldn't ask for a better experience. Salesman Ryan TIjerina and his brother Cory were awesome. I told them I wanted the bottom line price with no strings attached or hidden fees. I told them I went to another Ford Dealership in south Houston and was not pleased at all. Ryan and Cory gave me the best price for the F150 and my entire time completing this process was little than 2 hours to include everything and take delivery on the truck.
