Sales (Mr. Goran N): 5 Stars Ease of doing business: 5 Stars Honest pricing: 5 Stars Detailing department: 1 Star Financing department: 3 Stars If you're in the market for a new car, and you're eyeing a Ford, I would make Helfman a must-shop stop. I worked with Goran N. He made the process easy, simple, and seriously nudging at enjoyable, basically unheard of. He also had autonomy and the ability to make a deal without oversight signaling trust inside the dealership. He kept me updated on where my car was in transit. I was able to make the deal remotely, as Goran had no issues with accommodating my limitations on being there in person. Never questioning why, just genuine good-faith efforts. Letting me feel good about driving my new car off the lot. I never had to speak to him over the phone or meet him in person (unless I wanted to see one of the cars I was purchasing). There was zero pressure to make a sale or move on. Just a few quick emails, and my OTD cost was locked in, VIN locked to a car I wanted, and there were zero surprises or fees. You'd be doing yourself a favor asking for Goran. I plan to follow him to any dealership. Helfman is very lucky for his choice to work there. The detailing department for new car deliveries I really wish hadn't touched my car. If I bought another car from Helfman I would specifically request it not be detailed by them. It wasn't dirty, but it was a bit dusty inside the car. I needed to vacuum almost all surfaces once getting the car home. Not a major deal - probably would have anyway. Not something I've experienced buying a new car. My main problem was the amount of small scratches I noticed once I pulled it into my garage and spent an hour going all over it. I caught a couple at delivery they worked on while I was in financing - but there were several more I didn't notice. Then the cleaner they use on the windows smeared rather than cleaned and removed a hazy build-up. So the day I brought it home, I spent a few hours cleaning the inside. So spend a lot more time inspecting your new car on their lot, than I did. Especially the outside for scratches. The finance department took longer than expected, and he really pushed an extended warranty. I had to decline it 3 times. They made a clerical error on the dates, that meant the paperwork had to be resigned entirely. Thankfully, that could be done remotely. So check for small errors; the bank will throw up re-signings.

May 2021 Update... they paid to have my review removed!! Only I can see it snd it shows I have not made a review... hence why I'm doing it again. On top of everything else that went wrong. I bought this Tahoe on Jan 25th. You would expect for tires to be good. Nope!! Tires went out a couple of weeks ago and discount tires said it's impossible the tires passed inspection with the time I bought it and now with the miles I put on the car. And on top of that no tire key was isn't here car and true dealership had to strip the lugs off!! So to review how bad they are!! 1. No spare key given or notice they don't have one. = $325 2. They don't have in the budget to fill up your car after you buy it with a tank of gas! = $60 3. Bad tires that go out in 3-4 months costing = $250 per new tires... $500 4. No tire lock key so bolts had to be stripped off!! What a nightmare. But they can afford and pay to have your review removed. Haha

So this is for the sales side of this dealership…read more We stopped in because we found a used vehicle online that we wanted to see. I guess shame on us for not calling ahead of time to see if it was still available, even though I found it only hours earlier. The location is sketchy AF. There was a salesman out front smoking when we arrived... which gave us the "ick." The vibe here made us uneasy. We inquired about the vehicle we found online and he said he thinks it was already sold but he checked with his manager. We were told the vehicle sold DAYS ago and he was unsure why it was still listed online. He then proceeded to get us to buy a NEW vehicle instead, to which we repeatedly said we only buy USED. It was like he didn't want to listen to what the customers wanted. All in all, we ended up buying a vehicle at another dealership but it was the same vehicle we came here to see.... Sooooo, 99.9% sure even with the sketchy-vibe here, they would have made a sale. I'd say maybe next time but I 100% don't think we'll be back.

Our initial concern with your service was that Gary would not return calls or provide information. He provided no updates unless called, and acted irritated that I was looking for updates. When he called me to pick up the vehicle, he made recommendations, and was irritable that I wanted none of it done at this time. We had to make a 300 mile trip back to pick it up. Testing an alternator takes less than 20 minutes to do. Gary called Tuesday the 10th telling me the vehicle was ready. We arrived Friday the 13th to pick the vehicle up. The car was returned to us with oily/muddy dog footprints all over both front seats, the middle console, back seats, and some kind of smear on the back of the driver headrest. There were even oily footprints below the driver side windows that were still visible after heavy rains. I tried to call Gary in regards to this and he refused to answer his phone. My wife went inside, was directed to his desk where he was seated, ignoring the phone ringing next to him. She said "Hi, are you Gary?" He said yes. She said "That's my husband calling you and you need to come with me." When he saw the footprints, he dismissively stated, "We don't have dogs here." I stated this happened here at his dealership, we don't have a dog. Gary had a porter quickly clean it, but since there was oil in the footprints, there is still residue in the seats. The lack of concern regarding this situation is telling considering the following response I received when I called in regarding the engine failure. The engine light was expected to be on for 50 miles or so, as the battery must be disconnected prior to replacing the alternator. My wife and I made a rest stop, and afterward, while accelerating to highway speeds in front of an 18-wheeler, the engine failed her approximately 150 miles away from your dealership. My first thought was that the new alternator failed. I checked the engine oil as the engine seemed very hot, and discovered there was none or very little. I took a photo and video of my dipstick. There was the proper amount of oil prior to our Galveston trip. I had checked as a change was due soon. We had to rent a U-Haul truck and trailer to get the vehicle home. We had to get a hotel for the night, and I had to call out of work Saturday the 14th. I and my wife in separate calls Monday the 16th had been told by Gary, that there was no multipoint inspection and that the vehicle had never even been lifted. On our vehicle, the alternator is located under the engine - it must be lifted. When she asked for the manager on the phone, he stated that he is the Assistant Manager and chuckled. Her entire office got to listen to Gary's belittling response to her. He stated Richard would be in around 12pm. I went to her office and we called in together, and were told you came in earlier and were at lunch. When I spoke with Richard, he backed up Gary's statement. I have since left messages I have not received a response. I requested the Multipoint Vehicle Inspection Report. Gary and Richard stated it had not been done, only recommendations from checking the onboard diagnostic. I have since then received that multipoint inspection that I was told did not happen from someone in your shop. The MPVI states my oil was checked successfully and was good. Remember I stated I had checked my oil and it was full? Your MPVI confirmed my oil level was good. Why was the oil removed? My dealer confirms that there is not an oil leak when filled. I have already filed a complaint with Kia Corporate of this situation and provided the same photos attached to this email and more. I wish I could leave no stars.

The short version: They sold me a vehicle with thousands of dollars in existing issues. The long version: I live in Austin, so I had Anthony do a FaceTime tour of a Tesla Model X with me. He reiterated again and again how clean the vehicle was. Zooming in on a tiny little paint chip here or there, but everything else was "great." I bought the vehicle and had it shipped to Austin. First time driving it, I knew there were issues. 1. The A/C didn't work at all (huuuuge problem in a hot state like Texas.) 2. The vehicle, after driving for a bit, would go into "creep mode" where it wouldn't accelerate and said it needed to be taken in for service. 3. The passenger's rear side of the vehicle was covered in hail damage. It's cosmetic, but wasn't disclosed and majorly affects the re-sale value of the car. I contacted Anthony right away (literally day 1) to let him know about these 3 issues. No response. Gave it some time, pinged him again. No response. Weeks go by, and it's not until I left a 1-star review that all of a sudden they reached out and wanted to help...but only if I would take down the review. So I took it down because if they wanted to make it right, then I'm good with that. By this point, my vehicle was at the Tesla service center. When the bill came back for $2,500, they only offered to cover $1,500 because the vehicle "didn't have any issues" when it was with them Now my vehicle is in the shop for a second time because there was still the acceleration issue, so it's actually $3,700 total to get these issues fixed (not counting the body damage.) Very, very disappointing car buying experience and a super painful lesson that these guys either don't test the vehicles they get in...or they do and they lie about the condition they are in. Either way, buyer beware.

The most frustrating part wasn't even the wait, it was the complete lack of communication. I sat there for four hours without a single update and eventually had to go ask what was taking so long. The employee at the front told me it would be "10 more minutes." After waiting longer, I checked again and was told it would be out "in a few seconds." When I asked why it was taking so long, the response I got was essentially, "I don't know, man, there's a bunch of cars and a big line." There was no transparency, no explanation of where my vehicle was in the process, and no effort to keep me informed. Every time I asked for help, I was pointed toward another employee instead of getting a clear answer. The constant runaround made it feel like my vehicle had simply been pushed aside while I sat waiting. In the end, I paid $57 after a discount, and I was told the normal price would have been $79. Spending nearly five hours waiting for a basic oil change at that price is ridiculous. I'd rather take my vehicle to a local mechanic or a place like Take 5 and get the same service done in a fraction of the time. My entire day was wasted sitting in a waiting room. I won't be returning for future service.

Serious Concerns with Billing Practices & Unprofessional Conduct…read more My experience with Sterling McCall Acura's service department raises serious concerns regarding both customer treatment and potential insurance billing practices. This specifically involves service advisor Antonio Mora and service manager Don Morrell. I brought my 2024 Acura MDX in due to a significant water intrusion issue that had already resulted in visible mold forming under the carpet. This is not a cosmetic issue -- it is a health and safety concern. From the beginning, the level of professionalism was unacceptable. Antonio Mora was consistently rude, dismissive, and uncooperative, to the point that even my State Farm insurance adjuster documented his behavior as rude in their official report. Now to the most concerning issue -- inconsistent and questionable pricing: Initial estimate (customer pay): * Water leak repair (including labor): $975.17 * Replace all wet/mold-damaged carpet: $2,353.05 * Replace missing rear carpet: $593.70 * Total: $3,921.92 After filing a claim with State Farm, the scope of work was reduced, yet the pricing structure changed in a way that raises serious red flags. Insurance-approved estimate: * $3,510 to repair the leak and clean the carpet * NO carpet replacement included Despite a reduction in scope, I was told that labor hours had significantly increased (for example, allegedly 10 hours just to remove the headliner) -- even though the original quote to repair the leak including labor was only $975.17. This creates a clear and troubling discrepancy: * Less work being performed * Significantly higher labor allocation * A similar total payout from insurance This raises the question of whether labor hours and repair costs were intentionally adjusted once insurance became involved in order to maximize reimbursement. Meanwhile, I am left with a vehicle that still contains mold-affected carpet, meaning the underlying issue impacting my health and vehicle condition has not been properly resolved. To be clear: * The dealership has received thousands of dollars * The repair was downgraded from replacement to "cleaning" * I am left with unresolved damage and potential health risks This is not acceptable, and it warrants further scrutiny. Due to these inconsistencies, I am exploring escalation options, including: * Filing a formal complaint with Acura Corporate * Submitting documentation to the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) * Reporting the matter to the Texas Attorney General Consumer Protection Division * Requesting a full audit of the claim and repair billing through State Farm I strongly advise others to proceed with caution when dealing with this service department. Transparency, consistency, and professionalism were completely lacking in this experience.

It has had multiple mechanical issues requiring repeated trips back to the dealership for service. There's even a time when the truck has spent close to two months in the shop while we continued making payments on a vehicle we couldn't even use. It felt like every time we got the truck back, within a day or two it had to be returned because another issue had surfaced. A brand-new truck should not require this level of service or repairs. At this point, it's clear there is a much larger underlying problem. Beyond the inconvenience, I no longer feel safe driving this truck. Several of the issues we've experienced have raised serious concerns about its reliability and safety. Despite the extensive repair history, the only solution we've been offered is to continue replacing parts and attempting more repairs. After so many recurring problems, we do not believe continuing to patch the vehicle is a reasonable resolution. We expected to purchase a reliable, safe, brand-new truck--not one that has spent months in the service department. At this point, we believe the appropriate resolution is either to replace the truck with a new, defect-free vehicle or to refund the purchase price so we can move forward and purchase a different vehicle. We have lost confidence in this truck and no longer believe that continued repairs will resolve the ongoing issues or restore our trust in its safety and reliability.
