We have always trusted taking our 2001 Tribute to John Hine Temecula Mazda for TLC service. It was really hard to give it up and trade it in on a Mazda 6 but Son made it easier. It was nice that we had a good relationship with the dealership servicing department and know that our new Mazda will receive the same great care as the Tribute. Son was very knowledgeable about the models and features of Mazdas John Hine Temecula offers and there are a LOT of them to choose from. Son helped us make a good choice for us and the negotiation was not high pressure. There are so many features on the Mazda 6 model we bought, Son had to spend almost as much time teaching them to us as we did negotiating the deal! I took my wife's Mazda 3 here since we received a coupon in the mail. The coupon was for an oil change and tire rotation. After the car was serviced the Mazda employee said that the car had a broken motor mount! Priced a ridiculous number to fix it. So my wife and i took the car and left. on the way home the Mazda was shaking like a leaf as we were driving. It was difficult to turn as well. That was not an issue before we brought the car there. It was perfectly fine. We had to bring it back to them and they gave us a weak excuse. Something about the tire rotation caused it to shake and what not. They fixed it and we left. I brought the Mazda 3 to a couple different mechanics and they both said the motor mount is fine. We would be able to tell if it was broke. So i wont take my wife's car back to this place ever again. read more

I brought in my 626 for an ignition recall. When I picked it up I was told that I needed windshield wipers and a head gasket cover (over $200 to replace). I explained that I just put on windshield wipers and had spend thousands of dollars fixing the car with an independent shop. I bought the head gasket cover from them for $46 and my son placed it. He showed me the one he took out. There seemed to be nothing wrong with it. I was going to buy tires for the car in May from them but that is in serious doubt now. HD read more

Well, after 3 years and numerous visits to Mazda of Escondido, at least 2 long drives to John Hine Mazda in Temecula, my beautiful birthday Mazda still has one leaky tire. Two months after I bought my brand new Mazda 3 Hatchback from John Hine Mazda of Temecula, the low tire pressure light went on. It continues to come on every 2 months or so. Always the same tire, even after rotation. I have a file full of paperwork on this issue. The last time I drive almost an hour from my home, Tabitha Gregovich and Kristina Duvall, who had assured me last visit that if it happened again they would fix the problem, watched while I firmly insisted on a fix. The parts manager reluctantly agreed to remove the offending tire and inspect all its parts. He refused to replace the tire sensor or valve, rudely pointing at it and saying, "You can see it's good, can't you?" Yesterday the low tire pressure light came on again, same tire. Are they waiting for the tire to blow out on the freeway? So disappointed, love Mazdas, never buy one from John Hine Temecula. Wish I could give negative 50 stars. I found a car that I was interested in online and requested for more information. I got a response back fairly quickly. Amanda was very helpful. She was very nice and friendly, easy to get along with. I had a pleasant time there. I felt very comfortable. I got my very first car here. They didn't seem to be real pushy. I didn't feel rushed. Ref. my review dated 4/4/17 and the response by Bill B. of John Hine Temecula Mazda Business Owner: Mr. Bill B missed completely the point of my negative review and chose to hide behind stuff like liability, good deals, etc. In no way he even hinted they treated me with disdain and arrogance. He should have acknowledged that: 1) the manual for my 2012 Mazda 3 has nothing on the cabin filter except buried under maintenance that it should be replaced periodically, 2) the instructions in the parts package are confusing and useless, 3) most importantly: all I asked for was PROFESSIONAL COURTESY due to anyone but especially to a repeat customer as well as a prospective one in terms of a few minutes of hints as how to do the filter change out. What I got was arrogance and platitudes. His assistant advised me that: "this is not what we do here"! He probably has no idea of a) how to deal with customers and b) how the filter change out is done. The You Tube videos are kind of OK but they call for unnecessary steps in the procedure. 4) So, for Mr. Bill B's information I did get the hints on how to painlessly do the filter change out FROM A DIFFERENT dealership, where I was treated with courtesy and respect everybody would expect. The Service person called one of the mechanics who within no more than 2 minutes gave me the hints I needed and acknowledged that the procedure/design "kind of sucks". This week end my wife's 2005 RAV 4 will be traded in for a brand new Mazda SUV at THAT dealership NOT at Temecula Hine. We will no longer service our other Mazda 3's at Temecula Mazda. I suggest to all people reading this review to think twice before doing business at Temecula Mazda. read more

What a pleasant contrast it was to be served by Son Huynh after having spent an afternoon speaking with another sales rep at a dealership in National City. Rather than texting on his phone in the back seat while we test drove a new 2017 Mazda 6, not being able to answer rather simple questions about the car, and seeming generally disinterested, Son was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, not pushy, and even stayed a bit late to accommodate us. What was most impressive was that he spent more time with us after the sale than before the sale, going over every detail of the interior, explaining the navigation system item by item, inputting contacts in the phone log, and didn't stop until we had no more questions. My husband has talked often about buying a sports car after he retires. He will be retiring in 6 months so we visited John Hine Temecula Mazda on October 23, 2016 to look at the Mazda MX-5 Miata for information and to see how it drove. As we were looking at the car on the lot the salesman started talking with us. We shared about my husbands plans. He was rude, made us feel like we were bothering him. He never smiled and barely told us anything about the car. We went into the building, there was the same car a different color inside, but he handed us a brochure and showed us the door. Not a good experience; the whole episode reminded me of the movie "Used Cars" except these guys were dressed better than Rudy and his friends. They did the 'sharpie on the offer page" thing for what seemed like hours, but never really disclosed where the total cost of the car came from. After the first few rounds I made the mistake of asking them to consider added my trade in into the deal. Bottom line was that after much haggling and back and forth the final offer was about the same as we began with (that being the window sticker price) but they actually lowered the value of my trade-in to less than half what they originally offered to make it look like they lowered the price of the car. Also they added a bunch of dealer installed options that I didn't want/need and didn't add real value to the car just more profit for them. We were cash buyers, had the money in the bank and all we wanted was to get a deal for two new cars (yes I said two) that approached the "fair" price quoted on Car Gurus; no way with these guys! And just to add insult to injury they turned their "closer" lose on me, who asked me to "help him out" to make the deal close. Really guys you are selling a fine product (Mazda), do you need to go through all of this? The car will sell itself but these guys will make you want to go somewhere else; we did!! read more

I got my Masada here a few years ago and ever since have been returning for oil changes and service. A couple years ago I met Lee C who was the greeter when you pulled up-I recall just being inspired by his gracious hospitality and heart that shined through. A while later I was a little saddened when I didn't see his bright smile when I pulled up, then I found out he was promoted. Well today I walk inside and see Lee, and we chat for a few, and he says my name!! I asked him, did you see it on the schedule or actually remember it?? He remembered!! I unfortunately had blanked on his name, but never his great smile and amazing customer service. Oh and Patricia G has helped me out too several times, she is always so energetic,upbeat, and does a great job of communicating what will be done and the price ahead of time, even asking if I had any coupons to apply. I love this dealership! Now that is something very hard to say about any car dealership, as you all may know that usually when purchasing a car, dealerships are usually filled with sale hungry salesmen that try to force you into any car. Not this place. I first went to Riverside Auto Center Mazda because it was down the street from my house. Lets just say I will save that review for them and it will NOT have 5 stars. I then looked up this Mazda dealership and called them asking if they had a Mazda 2 in green in stock, the salesperson was extremely friendly and said, let me make sure we have that car for you, he put me on hold for a quick second and verified they had it. My dad & I drove from Riverside to Temecula and I walked out that day with a beautiful green 2013 Mazda 2. They worked with me with my monthly payment and found my best financing option. Everyone was extremely nice & helpful. I have heard constant horror stories from friends about how buying a new car is not a fun experience. I feel like mine was a GREAT experience and I do not mind driving all the way to Temecula for the great service I received. I went just today to get my 5k oil change, and again, great service. They made sure to contact me prior to make sure I was ready for my appointment, they worked with me to reschedule it for a better day. GREAT dealership, I love you guys! Great team. The service work at this dealership has gotten from bad to worse. After driving my car for a couple of days after I had an oil change last Saturday, 2/17, I heared scrapping under car. I found the oil filter access cover dragging on rhe ground. Looking closer, I noticed 3 of the 4 screws were missing and the retaining clips were gone. The panel obviously was not reinstalled properly by the technician, Jose Tellez. On my daughter's car, she told me that there she heard knocking after she picked up her after having the tires change. When I checked, 3 of the 5 lugs were loose. She was also told that her car needed the transmission fluid replaced. It was obvious that the fluid was not even checked since she just had the oil changed 2 weeks prior. I've had other bad experiences with this service center but it, being the only close to where we live, we had to have our service there. But with this recent wrongdoings, they just lost a long time customer. To all who gets to read this, beware!!!! read more

I got my Mazda 3 skyactiv serviced the other day and was not happy with the service done with my car. I purchased a synthetic oil change with coupon and the coupon only gave me 70 cents off! On top of that I had to go back because they overfilled my car with oil about an inch above the fill mark. Went back to the dealer to complain about the overfill and the service guy checked and said it was fine when clearly it wasn't. The service guy then sent my car to the techs to "drain and refill" as he stated. They took my car to the back only for a good 5 minutes! So that means they only drained my oil and not "refilled" as the service guy stated. I also spotted several techs smoking on the side being lazy which looked very unprofessional. When my car was done I went to the service guy and asked him why they finished so fast if they did a drain and refill which takes a good 15 minutes or so. He said that they did and that I was first priority which is a bunch of bull. Overall I do not recommend going to this dealer for service! read more

We had the most pleasant experience with our salesman, Dallas Ervin. I dread going into a dealership due to pressure tactics, etc.. We had none of that with Dallas. He knew the car features, allowed us to take our time, to go home and think about it. No time wasted. And Katie in finance also got us in and out quickly, no fuss no muss. I rarely give a 5 star rating but today's experience at Hine Mazda service is warranted the recognition. This was my first visit with my new CX5 for service. Upon check in, The work order was reviewed thoroughly and to my delight included a $20 discount for being a new service client. Pretty pleased so far. The waiting area included comfortable chairs and a flat screen. Nice. Also an additional area offering water, coffee, tea and snacks. Nice again. The technician working on my car needed to use the lug lock key for rotating the tires. He asked me if I minded coming back to my car and retrieving it from the glove box for him. This guy was super polite and escorted me back to the customer lounge after retrieving the key for him. Impressive but the best is yet to come. At about the hour and 20 minute mark of waiting time, the service advisor came to me and apologized for the long wait. Then to my complete surprise, they comped my first service. I hadn't said a word to anyone at that point about the time. Things like that were commonplace at other dealer service locations in Temecula so the fact that they sought me out, apologized, and offered the service as complimentary for the wait were off my radar completely. Pleasant surprise puts it mildly. I've done my share of complaining at other dealers in the past so it was time to acknowledge a job well done. Thanks Hine Mazda Service Team. Great job! read more

Go here at your own risk. I took my vehicle in for repair and it has been a nightmare for the last three months. On my initial visit I was quoted work. I was promised it would solve my problem. I will quote Patricia saying "we wouldn't charge you this much if it wasn't going to fix your problem." I had faith in the dealership and they let me down. They performed the work took my money and the vehicle still does not work. I drove the vehicle with the technician and the gas mileage is at 4 mpg. Now they are telling me I need to spend an additional $700 on ignition coils. Tim and Eric refuse to compromise with me insisting they've done nothing wrong. They mislead me to believe that I would be spending money only on the initial estimate. After I paid and was invested they threw another $700 bill at me. The technician who has been working on my vehicle is listed as a lube technician he isn't even a certified mechanic. I have included a screen shot below. The technician was also confrontational with me on the test drive. He insisted the vehicle was working fine when it was clearly idleing rough and was continuing to get 4 mpg. He lied to me on multiple occasions during the trip. If the vehicle is fine like the lube technician said why are they telling me to replace more parts? I am going from department to department and all each person can tell me is that they cannot attest to what the previous person said. Beware of this place, I can't believe this happened. They came up with a compromise which was this. "We will install the coil packs. If it fixes your problem you pay for them. If it doesn't then you don't pay for them." read more

I have had a wonderful experience every time I bring my car into the service dept. I have compared their pricing around town, even at the smaller shops and find it very competitive. They also guarantee me the lowest prices among the local Mazda dealers. There have been several cases with both my Mazda's where they didn't even charge me (install of a headlamp, and wiper blades, that my husband had difficulty getting on). They also took him into the shop to show him how to do other stuff that he wanted to do himself. I always find them to be very nice and always willing to work with me. I will continue to do business with them, and hopefully will buy another Mazda in the near future. read more

We made the appointment with John Hine Mazda and went to check out the car. Chris Molina is who we had our appointment with, he was wonderful. He gave us the keys to take a test drive, which was such a relief as we're not being pounded with hundreds of questions or pressured into buying the car. We loved the car & Chris did he best to get the price down to where we could comfortably afford it, which was a significant amount. He made the process so easy & exciting, not one ounce of pressure to buy the car & he understood our price range. Also, Rene helped us out with all of the legal paperwork and finances. They both had patience with us, as this was our first big purchase together. Overall, best experience with a car salesman we have ever experienced! I will never ever step foot on this lot again, and I hope you don't either. My wife leased a CX-5 from a different dealership before we moved here. We went in Hine Mazda to buy out the lease 2 weeks ago. What should have been quick and painless turned into an all day ordeal because they tried to steal $1,000 from us. First my wife was told to not bring the paperwork, they have it all in the system. We brought it anyways because we are those kinds of people. We also did the math before hand to get an idea of the payment we would be looking at. They came out with the paperwork after running it through their system. It was about $60 a month too high. We were originally told it was because we forgot to include taxes and fees in our calculation, we did include taxes in our calculation but not fees because we didn't know them exactly but I knew they would not be more than a couple hundred bucks. They went back to the sales desk and came back saying, oh the system didn't update to include your last few payments so now we updated it and the numbers are closer to what you say. (They had to ask us for information to pull our account from Mazda USA when we got there, so it should have updated when they requested the information, this was a cover up) They were closer, but not close enough. At this point we asked to see the itemized list break down of the price. It came out and had the original break down and the new "better" one. The first one was $1000 over the buy out price (to the penny) and the second one was $500 over. Then we pulled out the paperwork and asked why the price they had listed was not equal to buy out price listed on the contract. After some heated back and forth with the sales manager he had to check his system one more time. Surprise, surprise, finally the price matched our contract price plus our last payment we had yet to make. FOUR HOURS LATER, after a lot of math and arguing with the sales manager. This should have been a 1 hour slam dunk for the salesman, but instead they lost a whole family of mazda ownership trust. THEN this morning my wife tried to take the same car we just bought out into the service center to get looked at under the BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty. While driving it we heard a pop noise while hitting a bump mid turn. She was told she would have to pay $125 diagnostic fee before they would even look at it. What is the BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty do then? I fully understand having to pay for labor and parts if they determine we broke something. But, I feel that a car with less than 30k miles and less than 3 years old with an active BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty would get free diagnostics along with that warranty to determine the issue then charge mazda or the customer for any damaged parts accordingly. I know how dealerships work. They get to charge Mazda USA for all warranty work they do, why not charge them the diagnostic fee if the car is still under BUMPER to BUMPER warranty. I get it if it is only under power train warranty and it may be a suspension problem so they need to figure out what the problem is... but a BUMPER to BUMPER warranty means unless we jumped the thing off road it is their problem to fix. Conclusion, do NOT give Hine Mazda your money. If you really want a Mazda find a different dealer. All the people who give them great reviews probably got robbed by the sales manager but didn't pay close enough attention to see it happen. read more
