Efficient Careful Thought it was too good to be true, ended up being such a deal! We moved from a second story unit to a ground floor property. We packed all of our dish ware and small things into boxes, but contacted Jia Zhifu to move the big and heavy things. TOTALLY WORTH IT! WOULD WORK WITH JIA AND BARRY WITHOUT A DOUBT! I used hello movers for my recent move. they were efficient, and their fee for service was reasonable. Unfortunately, a few of my glass items were broken, my furniture had leaves from a dirty truck on them. They did not cover the carpet while moving items in and out. They also stacked my boxes on top of each other and then wrapped plastic around them. I could not read what I had labeled the box was. I had heavy boxes stacked that were hard to unload because I could not move them. I would not use them again. I received a text after posting my review from the company. I am assuming it was the owner, he apologized for the broken items and refunded me for the damage. I am happy that the company did the right thing and took accountability. read more

I have good moving experience with Hello Mover. After I reached out to them on yelp. The owner responded super faster and got my moving date secured. The two movers show up on time and moved all my packed boxes really fast. Mr. Zuo and Mr. Lou are super detailed oriented people. I asked them to take apart my furniture, they would put all the screws in plastic wrap to make sure not to lose them. Non of my furniture or the floor get scratched. It was super easy to reach out for a quote using Yelp. The process of setting up an appointment was very fast. The movers arrived and were very kind. I don't speak Chinese, but we were easily able to communicate using an app to translate for us. We had 2 movers who worked well together and were very efficient. I didn't have many items to move, but they were quite heavy objects, so I was very impressed by how they were able to get everything wrapped, loaded, and unloaded quickly and with care. RUN! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They broke my stove handles, glass table chipped, lost my light bulbs, did not secure contents in nightstand and when I unwrapped it, it was impossible to open. Since the nightstand got jammed items got damaged. The owners are not taking responsibility for the damages and refused to provide me their insurance information. The movers were slow and disorganized. I even have a video where they stated they are just taking their time. You pay by the hour and that seemed intentional. Do not use this company!!!!!! read more

They had many moving blankets and made sure to wrap everything so nothing was scratched or damaged. The only thing negative thing was we had one broken pitcher after the move. So just make sure they put all fragile things on top so those boxes don't get crushed. Would hire again. Good value for the hourly rate. Open about pricing. They write down the start and end times on a receipt. After looking at several moving companies around the bay area, I am so grateful that we found Hello Movers. The owners were quick to respond with an affordable quote and the movers were extremely punctual. We moved from a 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment (approx. 1000 sq. ft.) to a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator access. On the day of the move, Hello Movers showed up on time and immediately got to work. Hello Movers were professional, quick, efficient, and they actually care about your furniture and boxes. The two gentlemen that helped us move worked so hard and had to climb 4 flights of stairs to our new home in the 90 degree heat wave. During the entire 4 hour move, these guys did not stop to drink water, chat, or take a break. Hello Movers brought packing tape, moving blankets, plastic wraps, and hardware tools. Hello Movers helped us disassembled our queen size bed and dressers and assembled them upon moving into our new home. These guys are truly miracle workers. TLDR: Great company for straight forward moves (eg. everything is packed, no stairs, not a lot of stuff etc...), but would recommend choosing a more expensive company with the right equipment and number of personnel to execute the move quickly. We spent 18 hours (9am-3am) moving two neighboring 1-2 BD apartments into a new house because they only sent two people, not enough boxes, and didn't have the best equipment to go up flights of stairs. We communicated to the company all parameters of our move and how much stuff we had beforehand. They affirmed they would be able to accommodate everything. All in all - even though they have a cheaper per hour rate, we spent the same amount of money since our move was so long vs. paying a higher per hour rate, but a more expensive company could probably have gotten done in 5-6 hours vs. 18 hours. Our move: Moved two neighboring apartments (1 BD, 2BD) to a house a 15 min. drive away. The two apartments each had one flight of stairs. The house we were moving into had 2-3 flights of stairs. We requested packing and junk removal (1 office desk) services. We did not pack anything except for our glass kitchen items, which the company does not pack. We were told they would provide all boxes for our move. Pros: - Good per hour rate ($120/hr) - Arrived on time with a good sized truck - TV and furniture were generally packed with care with minimal damage to them - Respected keeping the house we were moving into clean (we had just got it deep cleaned) and wore shoe covers we provided - Repaired most things they had damaged during the move. (eg. chipping our crown molding in several areas, but painted over it with a similar color). We expected non-zero damage given the size of SF front doors. Cons: - They sent only 2 people to move all of our stuff. Keep that in mind for the $120/hr rate. We've learned from this experience to ask how many people per hour a company is sending when shopping for rates. - They don't speak English well so best to use Google translate over text to coordinate leading up to the move, and speak Mandarin to the movers during the move itself. - They required supervision. Since they only sent two people, we had to work alongside them making and packing boxes for 18 hours. - They ran out of boxes halfway through the move and asked us to buy 25 more boxes nearby ($15/box at the local UPS store) even though they had promised they would provide all boxes. As a result, we had to run around SF begging Peets and local bookstores for boxes, then assembling them ourselves to pass to the movers. - They destroyed a lamp and a plant with an expensive ceramic pot. They did not offer to pay for either. - They didn't have the right equipment or enough personnel to efficiently move stuff across stairs. - They requested we push the move to the afternoon the day before so they could squeeze another customer in the morning, but thank goodness we stood firm on keeping our time given how long our moved turned out to be. read more
