Stopped in for late lunch last week and shared the korean meatball sandwich and the daily pizza slice with my out of town visitor. The artichoke pizza which was split for us on separate plates was nice and hot, packed with flavor and very tasty, both the crust and toppings were on point. We read mixed reviews about the meatball sandwich so were very curious to try it. Very pleasantly surprised, both the baguette and the meatballs were SUPER yummy definitely exceeding our expectations. Staff was so friendly, great dine in experience overall. read more

It's not NY style but it's close. The crust is thinner and crunchier, without the chewy part under the sauce, compared to a typical pizzeria slice from back home. Still, this place makes by far my favorite slice in the twin cities. Yes, slice, you can just a get a slice instead of buying a whole damn pie. I stick with cheese, pepperoni, or sausage. I only wish the slices were longer rather than wide. read more

I found myself in Edina and thought I would check out Hello Pizza, of which I've read really good reviews. What a disappointment. I didn't have high hopes for the gluten-free pizza my husband and I ordered (he is gluten sensitive and on the advice of his doctor avoids it) and found the crust way too crunchy and brown. So I got in line again and ordered the classic cheese, thinking I needed to give HP a full shot with their regular crust. It reminded me of the frozen pizza I made in the oven back in the dark ages when I was a teenager, pre-micro wavetables (not that I want to remember that). I've had NY pizza at John's on Bleecker street and this is nowhere near that. Not even close. The crust was overdone, the cheese was soaked into the crust to the point I couldn't tell the difference between either one. A big MEH. I do have to say the wait staff were very nice. read more

I used to live in New York and really miss the pizza and Italian food there - this place is the closest I've found to good New York style pizza here. I would recommend for a quick, good slice of pizza. read more

I've been to Hello Pizza several times and have had a number of the usual varieties and specials. I have also had the soft serve quite a few times. I will not go back for the pizza again, though I would eat it and enjoy it to some extent if somehow it was in front of me. I definitely prefer Broder's pizza Rosa to the similar pizza I had at Hello tonight. Last time my daughter and I had the Hello Rita, and maybe it was kind of old or something, but, in our views, it had nothing to recommend it. I have liked Margheritas at Punch and elsewhere. The soft serve, however, with or without the toppings, is outstanding. It tastes like ice cream made in a churn at home. Unfortunately the machine was broken so no ice cream tonight. Pizza's Good, Service Not So Much Pizza is very good, although not totally consistent from time-to-time. Employees give you the impression that you are doing them a favor. Feels like you should apologize for doing business with them. Not a fan of the ambiance but if you pick up you can avoid long interactions with employees and you get a good pizza. read more

I stopped by Hello Pizza for lunch, when I was recently in town- I was blown away; honestly, some of the best slices that I've ever had! I had a slice of Hello Rita and one Trinity- the pizza was hot, with a crispy crust (yet bubbly and bready), an excellent sauce (at the right proportion), and fresh toppings. The restaurant was clean, the staff was courteous, and the beer was cold. A chill vibe with delicious pizza- I'd defiantly be back! read more

The pizza is good and the interior of the restaurant has a catching theme, but otherwise, Hello Pizza isn't remarkable nor does it require a return visit. We were taken aback by how inattentive the staff was. When they cleared tables, they removed the dishes without wiping the surface, they didn't know easy answers about ingredients, forgot a topping in our order and fixed it by providing a plateful or nearly raw mushrooms. The bathroom was unkempt and when a staff member removed the tray from our table, he took the napkins and replaced them in the unused stack accessible to other customers... we were excited at the prospect of New York style pizza joint by a well known pizza chef in the city, but the lackluster staff sucked the life out of it. read more

Favorite neighborhood pizza place . Great to stop in or order online. Some of the best pizza crust around - get the Hellorita with pepperoni on it! We like actually sitting down because the music is always great and you can enjoy a good local beer on tap. Only wish is that they offered balsamic vinegar to finish off the crust. read more

Wow, what a painful experience. Let's start with the pizza, since that's presumably why you're going there. It was mediocre at best. I had two slices, the classic cheese and the daily special which was a Mediterranean slice today. Chewy, old, lukewarm, completely blah sauce. Crazy expensive--$15 for two slices and a beer?!?! Then there's the atmosphere...if you like screaming, bratty, entitled white kids with beleaguered, hipster parents who can't be bothered to parent these menaces, then this is the place for you! I couldn't get out of there fast enough. If you want a great slice and no sociological birth control, head straight to Soho Cafe, they know what they're doing! read more

I wouldn't necessarily say I didn't like my pizza but I definitely wouldn't say I loved it either. We ordered an 18" with pepperoni & mushroom and found the pepperoni's to be very bland, bummer! Pepperoni is my favorite, I order it almost every time, it's a pretty easy topping to get right especially when they've gone through so much trouble to find a quality sausage. They may excel at the fancier pizzas, another guest at our table got one with sausage and said it was tasty but they've failed at the simple bare bones ol' pepperoni pizza. read more

I really want to love this place because it's in my neighborhood, I lived in NY for years and wanted a by the slice place I could walk to. The staff is wonderful and if you love that interaction, please go. After writing a negative review, I met with Ann Kim, the owner. She acknowledged that there had been some problems at Hello. She said that she needed to meet with staff to "tweak" some problems and they have been resolved. The sauce was tomato-y without being overly salty. The Korean Cowboy sandwich is outstanding. Ann truly wants to be a neighborhood anchor and I think she is achieving this. Give this place a shot. I'm glad I did. read more

Very boring pizza. Bland sauce, tasteless crust and I think they forgot to put pepperoni on my slice. the other slices were just as weak on the toppings. Took almost 30 minutes to get 3 slices. For the price I'd rather order from one of the local joints who have better tasting pizzas and faster service. I won't eat at Lola after two visits and two very boring pizzas. When you imagine a pizza... it has certain qualities you enjoy. Crust, sauce, cheese.. etc. Hello pizza has them all. With that being said, two pizzas the size of dog dishes cost me $38 dollars. My favorite pizza in the Twin Cities! Continuously have an excellent experience. The service is top notch, everyone is so friendly! The decor is very cute, they even have a photo booth! FINALLY! Finally. We've found decent pizza in Minneapolis. This shop is small, kid friendly, and awesome. They seemingly tapped into my playlist and played all of my favorite hits. But the best part...the Pizza. These guys know how to do pizza. We've tried many pizza shops since we moved to the cities and have begun to think that edible pizza was unobtainable here. The sauce, delicious. The crust, awesome. The cheese...well, the kids and I loved it but the man thought it was a bit much and overly chewy but he's a picky dude. We also tried the Meatball Sub. Do yourself a favor and try the meatball sub. It was so so good. I agree with another reviewer that it really is like magic in your mouth. Everything tasted great and the kids enjoyed the choice of orange fanta and cheerwine with dinner. We all had a great time and left with full bellies. read more
