We thought the personal pizza might be too small, so we ordered the regular size instead. Well... that was a mistake! It was HUGE--definitely big enough for a family to share! It's a relaxed, casual place to get together with friends or family, and they even have live music on Sunday and Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8:30 PM. Met some friends who have been here many times. We all got the individual size which is huge. I got the Olive's house minus onion, pepper, and black olives. It was loaded and really good. I don't like the trend for not sauteing veggies on pizza, just raw. I had a piece of the Alaskan, if you're in the mood for salmon or no meat, it's delicious. Basil loved his Fongo. I had a slice of the Italian Farmer which was pretty good. What was a disappointment was the Hawaiian, it even looked wrong. Topped with fistfuls of arugula that shouldn't be there nor the balsamic glaze. A good Hawaiian doesn't need a bunch of stuff on it. I took off a star for the weird cracker type crust. I think they didn't want to be too much like Punch and came up with that. My theory anyway. I think I would definitely enjoy coming back again, cause what we ate we enjoyed. This is such a great find. As I mentioned before, they have two locations. Excelsior is a lot of fun. The one in Edina is 1.5 miles from home for me so it's convenient. Great atmosphere for a suburban strip mall. The focal point leans between the open kitchen and pizza ovens and the curved bar that highlights their beverage provisions. Friendly, neighborhood place that really delivers. The staff and bartenders are attentive and enjoy interacting with you or letting you do your thing - depending on your mood. Had to run an errand in the area and were looking for something quick and easy for dinner. First note, which didn't impact my rating was that Google Maps initially sent us to the opposite side of the road in the business park area and not over by the shops. Just to be aware. The space was unassuming, but cute. Our server was definitely quick, but I felt almost rushed through everything and the tables weren't full/waiting, so I was a little pit off on how quick we were seemingly expected to get through. We tried a split pizza, with half the hot pepperoni special (not on the menu) and half the thai chicken. Both were seemingly good, but the Thai chicken was an overload of toppings. We got takeout pizza from here. The order was ready fast (roughly 10 minutes after calling in the order). Plenty of parking in the strip mall area it is located in. First time going here. Food was good - we got two personal pan size pizzas for two people (so we could try two flavors) which gave us several slices for leftovers. The Thai chicken crunch was great! The Italian farmer was good too - a little less flavorful but more hearty with all the veggies. I've been frequenting Olive's in Excelsior for almost six years. If you read my review of that location, you'll know that it's my favorite pizza establishment in Minnesota. This new location lives up to...and in my opinion, exceeds the hype of their first location. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of other well-known and often over-crowded Edina spots, this unassuming strip mall location is ideal!! Ample parking, a open layout, plenty of tables, and a really fun bar makes this the perfect weeknight pizza place or date night establishment. Service is quick, friendly, and acts like they've known you forever. One of my biggest positives, was that the owner can be seen cleaning tables and sweeping every nook and cranny. This team cares about your experience at their shop! The best thing about the new location is that they finally offer cocktails! Fun, inventive menu of specialty cocktails or the OGs, whatever your preference. But don't worry, their HEAVY wine pours made the trip over from Excelsior too! We went with the specialty pizza this time around and it was delectable! I'm a sucker for a brick oven pizza, and this has become a recent favorite! So many options and the perfect thin cracker crust is how I'd describe it. They are generous with the toppings and the prices are fair. Many great drink options with cider, wine, beer and also offer a nice happy hour. This place is one of my favorite spots to go for some of the best brick oven pizzas around, hands down. The Fongo is a mushroom lover's dream in pizza form! And the seasonal Oktoberfest pizza I tried my second time coming around was phenomenal (I hope it comes back next year).
