DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I would like to share with others a very negative experience with Hello Tech. When I first enrolled in their program the support was fine and efficient. My last few interactions with Tech Support have been unsatisfactory and unprofessionally handled. The initial wait time is always too long, over 20 minutes. Then there is a wait time while answer point contacts tech support (probably another country). Once the chat with Tech Support connects it takes longer than it should because there are long periods without communication which lack explanation. I suspect they are working multiple customers simultaneously. Lots of background noise. Kids crying, people talking. Probably working from home. On the eve of Jan 16 I needed support because my scanner was not working. Started with one tech, but midway I was informed my fix was taking longer than usual and the tech's shift was ending. I had to wait for the replacement to arrive. Another wait! The replacement was Rufel who blamed my internet for the problem. He was wrong, my internet was fine. He was the problem. I became very frustrated working with him. He didn't like that I did not trust his diagnosis and raised his voice at me. I told him NOT TO RAISE HIS VOICE AT ME. Along the way he kept pushing the idea of a tech visit. This issue did not require a tech visit. After reading review of tech visits gone bad they are the last people I would let in my home. Rufel continued working on my problem while maintaining an arrogant attitude. When our call was over Rufel was not even smart enough to hang up his phone before he uttered "f___k you." Get this, I paid for a contract only to be sworn at. I had to call Hello Tech twice before speaking with a manager. Next day I spoke with Tommy Callahan who said he was a manager. I received an apology that was anything but genuine. Every time I speak with someone there they sound like they are reading a script. I would not recommend this company to an enemy. Rufel will probably adopt another "fake name" and rudely carry on with the next customer that he speaks with. read more

Used them as I needed my new receiver hooked up for a 4th of July party and the Geek Squad couldn't get there until after the 4th and these guys said they could come out the next day. Scheduling it was eaasy, getting the work correct has not been. Tech sent out did not use any of the new cables I had purchased and instructed and repurposed the older ones that didn't support new receiver output. Also, couldn't set up "zone 2" which was for my outside speakers, said I had a problem with my volume switch outside. He indicated he would comeback, never did. Called the company after not hearing, very nice on the phone, said they would have someone out the morning of the 4th so it would be ready by the party. Instead just got a text later in the afternoon requesting more info on the date of the issue and said they would let me know. I told them it was too late, party had started, would be disputing the charge due to service paid for not provided. Got yet another text today asking me if I wanted them to source another technician. Again told them it was too late, I was unhappy and was going to dispute the charges. They said they were sorry for not being able to meet my expectations, which were basically get what I paid for and for them to do what they say. Was able to get the Geek Squad out it, guy set it all up with new cables, calibrated the sound and got zone 2 working. Also showed me some additional features of the unit (other tech said it worked just like the last one which was 15 years old). Other tech also said that some cables were already disconnected as the initial tech didn't tighten them up. I would not use or recommend this company again. Very easy to schedule appointment and they are nice when you call but I think this is like an Uber business model where the techs may just be contract guys that these guys "source" so limited quality control and vesting in end service. Stick with Geek Squad. read more

I used their site to set up a TV mounting I clicked on no one will be available to assist the tech with lifting the Tv and also checked off it was going on drywall and not over a fireplace.booked for Sunday at 4:00 (yesterday) tech came on time did some blue tape on the wall and did not have in centered I told him to make it center in middle of the wall then he said he did not have the right supplies and needed a metal base and it was going to cost me another $69.00 on top of the 367.00 I was quoted at this point what do you do your TV and parts all over the floor so I said okay he leaves and does not come back for almost two hours then he returns tries to install and his drill has no power then had to deal with that one thing after another bottom line it took him 4 1/2 hours to do a 30 min job it was ridiculous, I was texting to the hello tech number that confirmed the appointment telling them what was happening the whole time and they were just texting back sorry we will give you 10 dollars off lol oh and the tech was asking my son to assist him with the centering of TV sound bar and lifting the tv, what if my son was not home who did he expect to do this anyway I was so happy when he finally left and then discovered he did not even hook up my sound bar! The guy did not even check his work!! This company is like uber for techs they set you up with whoever will do the job the cheapest in your area and there you are with some bozo at your house not prepared with a charged up drill and supplies it was horrible to be dealing with this for four and a half hours. Aaron handled everything like a pro in my quirky house. He mounted three 75" TV's and all three I asked him to move a little after he got them up. He did not get exasperated with me at all which I appreciated very much. He essentially did the entire job twice because of me. No one better. read more

Beware of this company. I contacted them to schedule service for my television to be mounted. The representative asked me for my credit card to secure the appointment. She assured me that it would not be charged before the work was done, especially given the fact that the technician may not be able to complete all the work I was requesting. I wanted my TV mounted and the cables hidden. This charge was quoted as $322.25. My card was charged this amount the minute I was off the phone with the rep. prior to any services being done. Not only was this an unauthorized charge, but it is also unethical and illegal. I called to complain, and was assured this was only a "hold", yet it was deducted from my account nevertheless. I was told that if the services rendered were less than the amount deducted, I would receive an immediate credit. The service ended up totaling $212.00. Instead of crediting the overcharge, they deducted another $212.00 from my account for a total of $534.25. I could not get in touch with one single person who was willing to remedy this. Instead, i was told that someone would return my call. Instead of a phone call, I received an email the next day with the receipt for services and a "refund" for the $322.25 stating it would be back in my account within 10 + days with a notation that stated to contacted my bank if it is not returned to my account. After notifying my bank of the situation, I was informed that the "hold" could not be released without HelloTech's written request, since it was billed as a "charge" rather than a "hold". I contacted the company for the third time, and was told by several individuals that they didn't have the authority to help me, and that only the billing department could assist. They refused to transfer me to billing or to give me the number to billing, stating that "they don't have a phone number". I then attempted to email the company and received a response stating that my complaint was sent to their level-two support team and i would get a call in 24 hours. The email also states "Thank you for contacting Hellotech, for further inquiry, you can send an email or call us. Were open 24/7". I have waited all day for someone to contact me, but nobody has bothered. In the meantime, I'm out $534.25 for a service that actually cost me $212.00. This is totally unacceptable, and I caution anyone who is considering using this service to look elsewhere. They are liars, and thieves, and they do not have anyone available to speak with paying customers. Once they have your money, and then some, they are done with you. read more

Just had Kris from HelloTech come out to fix a high-pitch whine coming from our speaker system. Fixed it quickly and was thorough on checking other things that could affect the sound. Gave recommendations on where we might run into problems in the future. Highly recommend this technician from them! Was initially a little wary while setting it up over the phone as I wasn't sure if they actually understood the problem. read more

This is an extremely poorly run company. They take your credit card number over the phone before they even perform any service, just to "hold your appt." My card was then charged even though they performed no service. I am currently in the process of disputing this charge with my credit card company. Completely shady business. read more

Had an issue with extending my wifi signal throughout the house and connectivity from my wireless printer to my 3 laptops. Anthony was punctual, polite and friendly. He explained what he was doing and took his time to troubleshoot the issues which were finally fixed. The service was very timely and it makes such a difference if you don't have to tie up your day just waiting. He arrived at exactly the time he was supposed to. Thus was my second Hello Tech service. Our doorbell and thermostat were working but we wanted to upgrade them to Nest products. We purchased Nest doorbell and thermostat and looked for an installer. Hellotech says they specialize in Nest products and are an authorized installer. We requested installation from them of the Nest thermostat and doorbell we had purchased. We were told they needed credit card information to confirm appointment, but we would not be charged until installation was complete and that we would be contacted by text with our appointment time and technician name. We received a message that our technician was Danny and he would come at 3 on Sunday, October 7, and a request to send a picture of the working areas. We sent pictures and Danny confirmed appointment by text for Sunday, October 7 to replace doorbell and thermostat. Danny arrived and took old doorbell off and then told us doorbell could not be installed without purchase of a transformer, which he did not have, and put doorbell back on. He then moved to thermostat and took off old thermostat and partially installed new thermostat. He then stopped and told us that we had a blown furnace fuse and thermostat could not be installed without a new fuse, which he did not have. He said we had an old system with old wiring and the fuse was not needed for the old thermostat but is needed for the new one. He left with the old thermostat removed, the new one partially installed, the entire system now non functioning, and promised to return the next day with the needed transformer for the doorbell and a fuse for the furnace, the parts needed to finish job. He also recommended we purchase a Nest door lock, which he said he would install the next day at a reduced cost and told us what to buy. We bought door lock that night as advised. Technician never returned or called and we called Hellotech. Hellotech representative told us that a different technician would come. New technician called to ask us what was needed to be done and told us he could not fix it. We called Hellotech and were then advised that Danny wrote in notes that we needed to hire, at our cost, an HVAC company to fix our furnace and he, Danny, could not install thermostat until that happened. We explained that the furnace and air conditioning worked well before Danny came and that if they could not install the new thermostat we wanted them to put the old one back and reminded them that we were now left without ANY heating or air or even the central fan and this was an urgent need. Hellotech said they would call a third technician to reinstall old thermostat. Third technician, Michael Wood, showed up on Tuesday, October 9. We told him what had happened so far and what Danny did in installing the thermostat. He asked if Danny had shut off power to the thermostat before removing it to install the new one. We said he did not and was actually testing throughout with his electrical meter and power was on throughout. Michael Wood then told us that Danny should have turned off power and that every technician turns off power before uninstalling the old thermostat and installing the new one, and if they do not they blow fuses and transformers. Michael Wood also said that if the company finds out what Danny did Danny will most likely lose his job, so it would be not be in Danny's best interest to admit he did not turn off power. Michael Wood said he would write a report and file it with the company so we could hire someone to fix our now broken system, likely needing a fuse a transformer and possibly more, and we should be reimbursed for our costs. Instead, company charged card for all installation services, including the door lock, installed nothing, broke furnace and refuses to do anything further. We tried contacting support based on Michael's recommendation. Support said they would look in to the matter, but instead of doing anything they have now ceased communication, are no longer responding to us. I have filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau, am still without any heating or air, and am in the process now of hiring, at my expense, a company to repair our heating and air conditioning system, and reinstall a thermostat. I am also contacting the Consumer Protection Agency, and encourage anyone and everyone who has been wronged by this company to take action and all others to stay away! read more

The tech sent out did a fantastic job. He not only set up the new printer but quickly included remote printing and scanning from all 3 of our notebooks and smart phones. He took the time to answer all questions and was prompt in both his arrival and completion of the job. I would certainly consider using your organization for all of my IT needs in the future. In addition, I understand that your organization does flat screen wall installations and, based on my very positive experience with Hello Tech, I will be contacting your organization once I have acquired the wall mount. At first, I thought Hello Tech's service was great, and although the model may work most of the time, beware of the possible problems. The tech who came to our house was great at first - he helped us with connectivity issues when we got new cable & internet. The next time, I called to see if they could restore a faulty external hard drive. The same tech as before came to our house & picked up the hard drive. He said he would need to take it to his house to run some tests. A few days later, he quoted us $300 to restore the hard drive. We said we couldn't afford that & we asked for the hard drive back. He basically threatened to hold the hard drive hostage & he said it wouldn't be worth his while to drive to our house to bring it back even though he's the one who offered to get it from us to run the tests. I basically had to have my husband threaten him & that "motivated" him to bring it back. I told the Hello Tech administrators about the issue, but they didn't do anything about it. We won't be using them again. read more

Alvin was great and went through my issues on my MAC but unfortunately, my MAC is a dinosaur so the updates I wanted couldn't be made. True to their promise, I was not charged for the session!
