I had a tankless water heater go out in the coldest stretch of winter. My thermostat (we have radiator heating) was reading 41 degrees. When calling companies on 12/28, I was being told by many they couldn't see me until early January. G.A. Eberly took my call and checked with their maintenance team to see how they could fit me in on the same day. They had a lead technician (Steven) hop on the phone and get information about what I was experiencing, before finding a way to slot me in. Steven even called back about 30 minutes later to offer a quick fix solution to see if we could get our heat back on. Excellent service! Chris was the technician dispatched. He came on time and quickly diagnosed the issue. He was friendly, helped get a fix in place, and was out the door in no time. I was happy with the price paid for what essentially amounted to a service call, even though he helped fix my issue. Excellent experience working with them. They seemed very comfortabe with my tankless system. What he did not tell us is that the handle was now leaking behind the wall. The water leaked all the way down the pipe into the garage. Long story short, 9,000.00 later got the gasket fixed. After working out a very reasonable price over the phone he was at our house within the hour. A short time later he had our main line cleared to the street and everything clean and back to normal. Beware: Overpriced, Misleading, and Unhelpful…read more I called A&F Plumbing for a $59 service visit to find out why my water heater was not heating -- seemed reasonable. The tech was polite. That's where the positives ended. He relit the pilot light and THEN told me it was $250 just to relight the pilot light -- something most plumbers include in the basic fee. After paying that ridiculous charge, my water still never got hot. He didn't check, wait to see - - just said he relit it. He did make sure he had a sales pitch though. Without fully diagnosing the problem, he jumped straight to recommending a $875 burner assembly or a $5,250 replacement water heater, (complete with estimates) claiming mine was 11 years old, but my house is only 9 years old. Either the math was off, or they were hoping I wouldn't question it. I paid $250 for nothing -- no fix, no follow-up, just out the window, whoever recommended them should be ashamed of themselves. Definitely a bait-and-switch. If you're looking for real solutions and honest pricing, I strongly suggest calling someone else.

Replaced it at no charge. But today when they came to check out why my toilet sometimes backed up, they recommended replacing the old low-flush model with a newer toilet. I asked for a quote to include all parts and labor, and was given one. They pulled the toilet, snaked the line, and installed the new toilet. Then when I went to pay the invoice, they increased the amount by $70! He said he needed to install a new flange which raised the cost. I watched the process and understand that he needed a new flange to bring the level up to the tile level. But he never indicated this would cost an additional $70! I specifically asked for the total cost. And would have appreciated him telling me during the process that he was adding another 12% to the cost. Now I feel like he took advantage of us. Buyer warning. Get all estimates in writing.

Within less than an hour the commercial grade sump pump was not only installed, but JFK also cleaned the "pit," removing both water and gravel. They attempted to pull the well pump out, pulled the top off my well pipe, and condemned my well saying that the pump was stuck and I would have to drill a new well for $15-20k. I decided to call around for a second opinion and googled the top rated well repair companies in the area. After calling about 6 of them and describing the situation. 4 of them gave me suggestions for well diggers, and 2 told me to give Rogers & Sons a call as they have a track record of saving "unsavable" wells. Scott and his son Adrian came out the next day, and managed to extract the "stuck" pump from the well. They came back the next day with a blow out rig and blew the sediment and debris out from the bottom of the well, dropped in a new pump, and got my well back up and running. They saved me several thousand dollars! Scott is knowledgeable and professional and he get's the job done. I'll be calling them for all my well repair needs from now on. Thanks guys!
