We made a reservation. Upon arriving at our reservation time the hostess checked us in and told us there was still a wait for 15-20 min. She shared it's not a CONFIRMED reservation it just puts you on a waitlist. I shared BOTH were and option when booking and I chose at specific, booked and confirmed reservation and the email said 'confirmed' not we've added you to a waitlist. Recommendation: If you don't take reservations remove this option and only allow 'join waitlist' to avoid customer frustration. read more

The food was pretty good but inconsistent. We ordered two crispy sides of bacon and only one came crispy, food all came out at different times. One of the sides of pancakes came out after almost everyone was done eating. Service was pretty slow but the place was busy so I guess that's not necessarily abnormal or unexpected. The thing I don't appreciate is that my boyfriend ordered an omelette ($13) and it became $25.50 because of the up charges. He got gluten free because he has to, and then asked if he could get raspberry/white chocolate ones and they said yes ... but did not specify all of this would be separate upcharges and then menu makes no mention either, it's only listed vaguely under the pancakes part of the menu. $2 for white chocolate, $2 for raspberry, and I guess ~$1.25 charge for gluten free ... PER SMALL PANCAKE.... The upcharges on the main part are related to the large size, so that's entirely unreasonable. I'm sorry, it's irresponsible as a server to take that order and not mention this and even the manager came over and did nothing either.. just specified that even the white chocolate and raspberry are different flavors even though listed as one on the menu. I can't speak kindly of a place that will double charge you for an entree without any notice, so we won't be back. read more

I've been banned from Hemingway Brunch because several weeks ago my food was so late in coming to the table that I walked out. Actually they say I'm banned because I didn't pay for the one cup of coffee I consumed while waiting 25 minutes for my order in a half full restaurant. At the 12 minute point the server said it would arrive soon, at 20 minute point she said the same. Finally I told them to forget the order and I left. I should have put 3.50 on the table for the one cup of coffee but I simply was too frustrated. I've been a regular there since it opened 4 years ago. Going several times a month and taken multiple friends there. I am banned. I considered offering to pay for the stolen coffee today, but realized if this is how customers are treated, I'd rather eat elsewhere. read more

The potatoes were ordinary, as I would have preferred it to be a bit more crispy with some more seasoning. But the standout was the soft and tasty biscuit, which i would rate alone as a 8/10. * Pancake (9/10): A special birthday treat with whipped cream and berries. The whipped cream was to die for! Reminded me a lot of Whiskey Cake's whipped cream. It was designed by one Bryan with a chocolate writing that said "Happy Birthday". The delightful taste suggests their other pancakes might be equally good. Overall: Hit or miss for savory dishes, but sweet options impressed. Enjoyable! The place was busy. I'm sure this was related to the downtown Coppell car show. A bit of a wait, however, expected on a busy weekend! The food was delicious. Multiple items to choose from. I had the veggie omelette. I think hubby had the Hemingway breakfast. The kids had the chicken fried steak with some great looking gravy. They offer hamburgers if that's your thing. This place was decorated super cute for Christmas. Upon arriving I had to wait for a little bit before being welcomed in and invited to sit wherever I would like. Once seated I ran my requests by my waitress. She was very accommodating. I basically created my own bowl and told her what I would like to have in it. It came out perfect and was so good. The price was reasonable and I definitely plan to come back and try more items when I am in the area. It did take a little bit to get my food and my check when I was done, but neither of these were an issue. Sometimes a slow down in life is nice. There did end up being an increase in staff as I sat there, so maybe to be resourceful they have limited staff up until about 10a. Understandable. :-) read more

Starting off by saying the food is great which is why I rated it four out of five. Service getting take out was also speedy and easy. This is where the restaurant falls short. Using styrofoam in 2025 should not be the go to. By the time we got home our food melted through and leaked in the bags. Not only is it messy, but it's a safety hazard. This was absolutely the cutest place for brunch for a girls day out and we had such a blast! There was PLENTY of seating and PLENTY of parking and they had the best vibes! They had a large selection of choices for foods, a wide variety of drinks and don't get me started on their billionaire bacon. My fiancé and I tried Hemingway Brunch around Christmas time 2022 and for some reason I did not write a review after that delicious meal. My girlfriends and I went a couple of weekends ago and it was just as awesome! It is a clean restaurant with a continual flow of brunch seekers. PRO TIP: get in line on Yelp, check in when you get to the restaurant and you will be seated fairly quickly rather than getting at the end of the line when you arrive! If you enter the number of people and the desired time Yelp will even send you a notification when it is time to get in line! I wish all businesses did this! I ordered the French eggs Benedict on my first visit - I hadn't ever seen eggs Benedict on a croissant before. It had ham, Swiss cheese, poached eggs and hollandaise. It was excellent - so much that I nearly ordered the same thing on my next visit! I decided to branch out on visit #2 and ordered avocado toast. It was whole wheat toast, avocado, pickled red onion, feta cheese, everything spice with two poached eggs. It was really, really good but was missing something. It needed some zing to it. Don't get me wrong, I would absolutely order it again! One of my friends ordered the Garden Breakfast Bowl and chose biscuits as her side. Both looked amazing! The bowl was huge and my teeny tiny little friend ate the entire thing! She was NOT sharing those biscuits (or the bowl) though, so I ordered a side of biscuits (2 per order) and shared with my other friend. Great new place in Coppell (do not confuse with the inferior Sunny Street that was in the same place. I had the French Benny as I wasn't in a muffin mood. A Benedict is usually my tester at a new breakfast/brunch place. have never had more perfect poached eggs served to me. Everything tasted great. Service was top notch. No one was ignoring others for their own "section". My wife had a more customer order and it was made correct the first time with a smile from the waitress and the gentlemen that brought it out. The place feels fancy but welcoming. Very open seating, they did away with the cluttered booths the previous owner had. I also must say the place was packed. You don't have a full restaurant at noon on a Saturday in Coppell if you are not doing things great. read more

Had to request mustard, other condiments were on the table, but alas, no mustard! We were given plastic cup of ice water with lid when we were seated, but no straw. I ordered a mimosa and a coffee, had to ask for sugar and spoon. Drinks were consumed, but nobody asked if we would like another, friend's drink was large, so she was okay, I would have enjoyed another mimosa. When our plates were delivered we also had to ask for silverware and napkins. So service could have better. Nice ambiance, large enough for a crowd to be present. I was going around the neighborhood, and I spotted this place. I review in my head and I remembered that used to be the Sunny Street Cafe. I asked my nephew, who happened to be with me, if he wants to try a new place. He immediately nodded, so we went in. The place has a nice decor and it looks really cozy. We did not have to wait much. Only a couple who walked in front of us and the hostess showed us to our table. Place was particularly full, only a few tables free, so I will say we were lucky this time. I saw several reviews talk about long waits, fortunately I did not have that experience, at least this time. We were tended by a young girl who was very attentive at first. We ordered 2 orange juices and a coffee. Barely less than a minute later she handled 2 glasses of fresh squeezed orange juice and a cup of coffee for me. We ordered right away. My nephew went for the Oreo pancakes. I went for their Hemingway Special, which is 3 eggs any style, bacon, a sausage patty and a slice of ham with 2 sides. About 10 minutes later, our food came, but the girl (another one, not our waitress), delivered our plates two tables over ours (tables are numbered and orders are too, not sure where was the confusion but let's overlook it). Once we got our meals, we noticed we did not have silverware. Tried to sign the girls behind the counter (we were right in front of it) but no one was paying attention. My nephew walked to the counter and asked for them. Suddenly, our waitress revealed herself from the bunch of people behind the counter, she immediately recognized my nephew and try to fix the problem by handling the silverware to him who was the one to bring it to our table. The right "save" there is to tell the kid she will bring them to the table and, at the same time apologize for the omission (well, one star down for that, let's continue). To my surprise, the Oreo pancakes are a stack of 4 very thick pancakes Oreo flavored with cream and cracked Oreo cookies on top. It really looks delicious and it is BIG!!! (Texas sized I must say). My nephew was really delighted. About taste, I have to say they tasted really good. Good one there. Now my meal. I salted and peppered my eggs and tried them. They were kind of cold, like they were waiting to be served for a while. So were the meats. Since they weren't too cold, I decided to eat them and not complain. I also happened to finished my coffee while I was still eating my meal, but I was never offered a refill (at this point I do not know if they refill or not, as I never saw anyone of the waitresses pass around with a coffee pot. Surprisingly the prices are really in the "decent" side of the "scale" (please guys, do not fill my email inbox with mails telling me how crazy I am for saying that. Notice, I said "DECENT" not "CHEAP". Sorry folks but there are some people who still needs this kind of clarifications). For what I can tell, this place has a lot of potential but they have some flaws on execution. I will try them again though. This time I will bring all my nieces and nephews (aging ranging from 11 to 16). When it comes to these kind of establishments, I completely trust their tastes. They went to find my order and then asked if there is anything else they can do for me. I ordered waffles and chicken for my friend and I ordered a rise and shine meal: Sweet Tooth Combo- that includes two eggs any style, sweet butter pancakes and bacon. You can also choose sausage instead of bacon or waffles instead of pancakes: The pancakes were large and fluffy. They were very light and had a sweet creamy taste. Hemingway Brunch is our go-to brunch spot! The interior is chic! All the servers that we have had the pleasure of interacting with are sweet and helpful. My husband and I even hosted our first anniversary brunch here with some friends. We love the food and the drinks. Some of our go-to foods that i would 100% recommend are California Eggs Benny, Avocado Toast, and Short Rib Hash. We also love the fresh squeeze OJ, mimosa and espresso martini. I've been here three times and the food is always pretty mediocre. The only reason I came back is its convenient location for me. I had a southwest breakfast bowl that was 75% little potato cubes when what I expected was meat, cheese, eggs and veggies. It did come with eggs on top but the rest of the ingredients got lost among the abundance of teeny tiny greasy potatoes. I had the tofu scramble once which was way under-seasoned. The last time I ordered a coffee here, I swear the creamer tasted off and I sent it back. I thought maybe the server would comp the coffee for my bad experience, but he didn't. Service was okay most of the time but unfortunately the server did spill my coffee. The interior of the restaurant is pretty, and every table has vases with fresh carnations. If this is in your neighborhood and you want someplace with a pretty, feminine touch, check it out, but don't expect the food to be anything beyond typical. read more
