Love Henri's. I've come here for lunch and for breakfast and I always leave very satisfied. Food is fresh and very tasty. Service is friendly, quick and efficient. When you walk in, seat yourself. A server will be with you very soon. They have so many items on the menu. There is something for everyone.

This is clearly a local's hangout spot. I love me a fun diner, and Henri's did not disappoint. The interior looks like three places that merged. One side looks like a former store, the middle looks like a diner, and the end looks like a converted bar. Together, they make one cozy but spacious diner with good eats and decent prices. Portions are on the larger side. Plenty of people ordered their own plates, but I opted to share one and that was more than enough. The food can be heavy. The servers were sweet and efficient, and our food came out pretty quickly considering it was almost full inside and it was a Saturday mid morning. Overall, it was a nice place to get a good meal. There were plenty of people at the bar and plenty of booths taken. I expect this will continue to be a neighborhood favorite for a long while. Metered street parking and small parking lots are available in the neighborhood.

The service is quick, lot of choices available. Also, if you have dietary issues (I'm spice deficient), they can modify some dishes for you. So grateful the hostess was able to make suggestions in such a short moment. Chomping down on the John's special & my road buddy nibbled the Spanish omelet. Always a fan of neighborhood laid back eateries. This spot is great, whether with or without having to worry about reservations and the limited access of bigger venues.

I give this 3.7/ 5. This is my first here although they have been around for sometime now. There were 4 of us and the table that we were seated is a little tight for 4 people and the table is not that wide either and not much of a leg room. Hospitality 5/5, amazing staff and very helpful. The place is clean and good lighting. Tuna melt with onion rings 3/5 it was ok. The bread was a normal size cut with in half. The tuna spread was missing a seasoning, so it was just ok. And the onion rings were heavily battered 3/5. Ham with eggs 3/5 the ham was a little dry. The pancake with sausage was a bit better 3.5/5.. They need to tweak up their menu a better as other places have done so. Parking is by luck as they only have few spots and metered street lights parking is another option if the area is not busy. Overall the food was ok experience but the service was amazing!

Towards top of the plate black texture broken it down was squishy in texture and smelled funky

Good was good but I noticed towards the end a big like textured body on my plate was disgusted after that ! I called the server over and they offered to take the meal out my bill but only gave me half of the meal it's sad that I know they didn't believe me and I even have a feeling they thought I might have planted that on there but whatever that's the reason why I'm leaving them bad review lies and kept saying it was burnt spinach I didn't order spinach on my plate then they said the cooks didn't wash the dishes right and it was from the griddle but the texture was not a crispy texture here's the picture shame !

Ordered the french toast and was delicious! Loved how fast I was seated and how fast the food came while not being rushed!

Stopped in yesterday for my first time and I had the biggest Chicken Fried Steak that I've ever had, and one of the better ones I've ever tasted. Henri's is an old school classic LA diner in the valley with great service and fair prices. They have a small free parking lot in the back, but it was full when I arrived so I had to find neighborhood parking. There was about a 20 minute wait when I arrived, but I was dining solo so I took a seat at the counter and was able to sit immediately when I arrived. My server was extremely polite and was extremely fast with the coffee refills. It's quite large on the inside and they have many different booths and tables as well as a large counter, which is where I sat. For my meal I chose the Chicken Fried Steak Special, which is a larger version of the one that they have on the menu. It was honestly a giant sized chicken fried steak and had a side of hashbrowns and toast and two eggs. It was honestly delicious and a very large meal that I couldn't even finish. I had a strong cup of coffee on the side all for $25 so it was a very fairly priced and filling meal. I would suggest to anyone and would say that this is one of my favorite diners in the valley.

Came here with some family and I feel like this place has some drawbacks but also positives as well. The place has that comfort feeling that of a diner. There are what seems like three different sections with a mix of tables and booths. The food here was okay, we got a mix of omelettes and chilaquiles. It was good, but nothing special. The drawback was the service. The place seems highly understaffed. It was crowded but it seemed like there was only one server for almost the entire restaurant when we went. It took about 30 minutes to get our order. Though our food came out not too long after that at least. Overall, if you are in the area, I would try this, but if you are not, I would not make the effort.

Niko SAVED my life. I walk in and I was so hungry... my stomach was growling and I was to starve. I walk in with my boyfriend and then glorious Niko came up to us and noticed how raveness I was and even though the restaurant was EXTREMELY busy (parties of 10's and birthday dinners) she got us seated within 2 minutes. She asked us if we wanted drinks and then brought them out immediately. She was so kind... she is the sweetest girl ever and WOW her gorgeous and warm smile! She is so caring, amazing, talented, beautiful, kindhearted and skilled. Someone else came and the SECOND he sat down she asked him what he wanted to drink and went to go get it... she was so amazing. Right after she finished cleaning a table she went to go assist us. Nobody give us better service than Niko. She even brought us straws when we didn't ask just out of the kindest of her heart. I was having the BEST meal of my ENTIRE life (special 1) and she checked on us every 5 minutes to make sure it was good. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki and started tearing up... he said "this has been the best meal of his life... I am one with Henris." I love you Niko this serves has been beyond amazing. She also made sure EVERYONE got their orders taken. She is so great and amazing. Even when customers were being rude and reckless turns her she remained calm and kind to all. Nikos warm smile stays on no matter what happened because she thinks kindest is deserved for everyone. When my friend didn't have a fork he asked Niko for a fork and she got one in less and a second for him... I have never felt this loved. Thank you Niko. She refills our drinks quickly, always has a warm smile on her face and gives the best service I have ever seen, because of Niko Henris is my new comfort spot. She is constantly refilling our drinks and placing them us our table with great elegance. After I finished eating she gracefully and amazingly took my dirty plate... it made my table look so clean and spacious again. After taking our places she cleaned our table by taking all our wrappers and napkins, she is so amazing and helpful. Thank you Henri and most importantly thank you Niko

If you have table-seating tickets, it's first come, first served. I arrived about 15 minutes before opening, which I'd say is plenty of time to get a good seat. Just be prepared for the tables to be very cramped, especially directly in front of the stage. You're essentially shoulder-to-shoulder with your neighbor, so you might as well get acquainted. It can also be a little uncomfortable turning your head to watch the stage from some seats. Since I arrived early, I decided to check out the food. Honestly, do yourself a favor and eat beforehand. The food is overpriced and pretty average. If you do plan to order, getting there early makes it much easier since you can place your order before things get busy and they can clear the plates right away. The seating definitely has its drawbacks, but the band was absolutely amazing. The music and performance were the highlight of the night. Parking is at 1400 Ivar Avenue in a structure. If you purchased parking ahead of time, bring your parking ticket from the structure into the venue and once they scan the parking that was emailed to you they'll validate that structure ticket for you.

As always, the room was alive with energy under the glow of carefully adjusted lighting and the dark woods that create just the right feeling of being hidden away from the world. My bartender, Nelson, deftly whipped up one of the best-tasting Sidecars that I've had in quite some time. The strength of the cognac was there, but quite properly balanced with tartness from the orange and lemon, and the sweetness of the sugar rim. An excellent, light cocktail to pair with uptempo jazz. While I wasn't hungry on night #1, I did find myself peckish on night #2, and decided to order a Shrimp Cocktail and Parker House Rolls. Not quite the indulgent meals of previous visits, but very satisfying nonetheless. Those Parker House Rolls emerge hot and crusty on the outside, yeasty and pillowy inside. The light, buttery flavor of the bread is nicely contrasted by the pleasingly pungent olive tapenade served on the side. However, they also serve some deliciously rich whipped butter with the rolls, and that's an indulgence all its own. The Shrimp Cocktail is another example how precise and talented this kitchen is despite having to serve the entire room during a very small window of time. 4 Jumbo (possibly colossal) shrimp come creatively plated with the usual accompaniments, and are meaty enough to eat with fork & knife. Perfectly poached before being chilled, the Shrimp had just the right texture, and the fresh, mildly briny flavor that lets you know the food comes from the very best purveyors. Yes, it was an enjoyable, satisfying small meal with crisp cocktails and great music. Wednesday nights can't really get any better.

Mary was our server, and it started out promising, she greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. It went downhill from there. By the end of the night, the person refilling our water was the best service we got all night, because he came around regularly to check and refill our glasses. It seemed like because there were 7 of us, so she got an automatic 20% gratuity, she didn't think she had to work for her tips, but the service was appalling. Honestly, the room was only half full, so it wasn't even that busy. Service: We had a friend show up late, and it took a long time to get someone's attention to bring a wine and water glass for her. I kept trying to waive someone down, or hoped that Mary would come check in, but no such luck. When the food arrived, they just dropped off the food and left, they didn't ask if I or anyone at the table wanted pepper or parmesan for our dishes, or needed anything else. My friend sitting across from me finally got someone's attention that was walking by to bring some pepper, and after doing her plate, he didn't ask if anyone else at the table wanted any. So I stopped him from leaving and asked the table if anyone else wanted pepper or parm. Myself and another friend wanted parm, but we were half way through our meals before it came. We were at the end of the meal before Mary even came back to check back on us. We ordered another bottle of wine because all of our glasses were empty. Mary just brought it to the table, opened it and then walked off without refilling any of the empty glasses. For dessert, we ordered one dessert to share, but everyone decided we would do after dinner martinis. Mary took the order for 5 people at the table and left without taking my order or my friend's order for our martinis, so we end up having to wait until she came back with the other 5 martinis to order ours. Food: It was bland, underwhelming and overpriced. I ordered the chicken piccata. The capers were the only thing that gave it flavor, its a dish that I didn't think you could make tasteless. The noodles did not taste fresh, almost rubbery. There are so many Italian places around Los Angeles that are the same price or cheaper that have higher quality and better tasting food. I ordered a chocolate martini, and the alcohol wasn't too overpowering, and it tasted just like drinking a dessert. We ordered two bottles of the Montepulciano that they had on their wine list, it was just okay, so if you are a wine person, then I recommend bringing your own bottle and just pay the corkage fee. Bill: They don't hand you the bill, which is a surprise for such a big group. They didn't give us the printed bill until we asked for it after paying. So when I checked it over, I was surprised that on top of the 20% automatic gratuity, there was also a 3.5% kitchen appreciation fee. Which I was told by the hostess as we were leaving you can ask to have removed before paying your bill. Doesn't seem like there is any transparency for that fee. It definitely felt painful to pay 23.5% in tips/fees for such appallingly bad service. Jazz: Saving grace for this place, that's the one star. Saturday night they had just a singer and a piano player. The singer's voice was beautiful and she took requests, so we requested La Vie en Rose before we left. She sang it in English vs. French, but she sang it beautifully. Vitello's has a great history, so if you are going to come here, then come here for the drinks and the jazz.

This was the last stop in a night where Conrad and I stepped out to LA to have a good time. So by…read morethe time I got there I was tipsy. I was not falling down the stairs, nor was I slurring my words, nor was I misaligning my pool shots, but I was definetely feeling the good inside my blood. I note this, not to highlight my cool factor as if I was a frat bro in a Florida party school, but more to describe how my experience was fogged by my consumption. This place was definetely a hot spot to hit, but I just will not be able to descrbie everything with speicifc detail, more, broad strokes of a good time. The place is reached by going down a flight of stairs, which feels like one is going to catch the J line in New York. I think I felt this more because of the Spring St sign- a famous stop in NY, NY. As soon, I got there, the goal was to continue the good time and this place allowed that at a reasonable price. They had these can drinks that I really responded and they were only 7 dollars. Ok, I know that saying something is only 7 dollars in this economy can seem out of touch. But a drink in LA most of the time will run you at least 12 to 16 dollars, and I think it is mostly on the 16 side. So finding a 7 dollar drink in a hot spot is refreshing. It was a Suncruiser- a vodka spirit based drink- that was part of their specials for their night. maybe is more expensive on other nights when it is not on special? After the drink Conrand and I stepped into their floor. It was the first time we were there and it is basically a basement game room on whatever it is that Bane takes to make himself go from puny human to muscle-on-muscle-on-muscle villain. There is a lot of pool tables maybe like 5, and I saw ping pong, and other table games. Additionally, instead of a speaker or a recorder- the one's that spin old timey records- there was a band. I took a short video of the band but I could not tell you if this band was good or bad or their name or their style of music. I was partly present, and I just heard the music, I did not appreciate the performers. It happens. So Conrad and I play all the time together. And I saw a guy playing by himself. We quickly introduced oursevles and then we played pool. Here is the thing that I am happy to write about this place. Unline a regular bar with a pool table, where every one knows your name, this place had the opportunity to meet new people. And I enjoyed playing with this guy. He was a new challenge. He had fresh stories. And he offered a view of the world I enjoyed. So this place offers the opportunity to meet new people over a game of pool. If pool is your thing than this place will make you happy an if pool is your way of meeting new folks then this place will make you happy and give you opportunities to find the folks you imagine you need in your life. In the final analysis, I want to go here again, and experience the place more broadly. Not sure if I will write a new Yelp, because even though I bared bone this one, it still gives the primary messages I want to. And to the guy who I played with thanks for having a good time with me, even if it was short. And sometimes, short, can be just enough.

After picking thru it because I was hungry, I spoke to an manager and he just seemed as if I was not being honest, so I pulled the broken bread pieces out to show him; and he didn't offer anything in return. I won't be back.

Parking is really easy here, there is a large free parking lot attached right in front. As mentioned service was extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. One thing I love about this place is it's very long and there is a very big counter if you prefer to sit there or there's also a long row of booths. So it can host many different sized groups. It has a true retro diner aesthetic to it, which I really love. For this visit, I chose the Turkey Chili and Cheese Omelette and thought it was absolutely fantastic. Everything about it was just great and I would highly recommend to anyone. I also want to point out that their coffee is especially tasty and strong and was another highlight of the meal. I will definitely be back next time I am up in the valley.

The ambiance is what you would expect of a good cafe, busy, people enjoying their food and the staff engaging with their clients. I'll continue to come back.
