Hercules has amazing food and okay margaritas. I love the service I got from the bartender. The ambiance is great too.

I had an absolute blows of a time trying Hercules yesterday! This is a nice restaurant which would be perfect for a meal out with friends. There's yummy food and drinks and the service is also great! For food we tried: * queso fundido - this was delicious and came with chips, we ended up adding chorizo to this and it was a great decision! * enchiladas - I got these with chicken with half green sauce and red sauce. This also came with rice and beans and was yummy. Overall my only qualm is that I wish the chicken was more juicy as it was quite dry * churros - we got these for dessert and these were delicious. We absolutely enjoyed these thoroughly as they were filled with a custard like sauce and also came with a chocolate dipping sauce. The churro came piping hot so we really loved it! Overall had a nice experience here!

FISH TACOS

Love love love this place. The service was excellent from beginning to end. The food was fresh , served hot, and had great flavor. The mole was done perfectly! Spices were blended and melted into the chicken. The enchiladas had 3 different flavors, personally the green salsa and mole were the best. The red salsa was good but I prefer the green. I didn't try the fish tacos but was told they were really good. Had a couple of drinks. Some on the menu and some off, but all were gooood. Definitely will be coming back for drinks and food when I'm not pregnant!

Came here for dinner on Sunday. We sat outside since the weather was nice. Service was friendly, just a tad slow, which wasn't a big deal as we're not in a hurry. It's good that they had trimmed down their menu significantly to 2 pages, under new management. We're always overwhelmed by their menu "book" before. They had a pretty good selection of local draught craft beer. I tried a sip of my husband's Orange You Delicious, which had a nice citrus aroma. I usually didn't care for beer, but this one was pretty easy to drink without the usual strong beer taste, despite its higher alcohol percentage. It was indeed delicious as its name suggested. The complimentary chips and salsa were tasty, and the salsa had quite a bit of a kick. All 3 of us had Tacos De La Casa with different choices for the 2 tacos. I had shrimp and fish tacos. The dish was presented beautifully on a flat square plate. The ingredients were fresh and very flavorful. Just a bit messy to eat. I liked that both the fish and the shrimps were grilled instead of deep-fried. I also had a small piece of my daughter's quesabirria taco with the birria consommé. It was crispy and delish. My husband said his ribeye and carnitas tacos were scrumptious as well. It was very relaxing sitting in the outside patio and we all enjoyed our dinner.

CHURROS and FRIED ICE CREAM

Delicious food all around--everything we tried was flavorful and well-prepared. It's clear they put care into the dishes, and the overall quality really stood out. Service was a bit slower than expected given it wasn't very busy, but aside from that, the experience was great. I'd still recommend it and would come back again!

This is one of my fav places for date nights and girls night out. The drinks are always so good and the food always hits. I noticed the menu changed up a bit recently due to the new management but it seems to be for the best. But I am happy to see the same staff! My favorite dishes are the tacos, asada plate, chile relleno, chips and guacamole and the shrimp dishes. I recently tried a new dish which was garlic butter shrimp and it was amazing, I can't wait to order it again. Came here for cinco de mayo and although the website said taco Tuesday deals, they only had 2 drink specials. The Mexican candy margarita was amazing, I'd definitely order that again!

My tea had a weird foam on top

This place is so bad. Tacos were cold greasy and flavorless. Meat tasted old. My fav part were chips and salsa. We asked for another round of salsa to cover up the taste of bad tacos. And salsa was good probably bc it's not prepared there. Thankfully it was taco Tue and we didn't pay full price for shitty food. My hot tea had a foam on top. Flan tasted commercial.. bad whipped cream too. This place is like an American abomination on Mexican food. The waiter was apologetic about the food and said we'd probably like the special tacos better. We probably will not. SKIP!

Veg Enchiliadas with Green and Red sauce

Had dinner here. Food was excellent. The salsa was very tasty. The spicy salsa we ordered separately, was good and had a nice kick to it. Chips were ok, a lot of flour taste. The Portobella mushroom tacos were really really good. Also the Veg Enchiladas with the green and red sauce were excellent. The Spanish rice was tasty as well. The service was solid. Decent ambiance, on the main road so noisy if you sit outside like we did. The entrees are expensive. Not sure why they charge for extra salsa etc., should not nickel and dime patrons in my opinion.

We wanted to try something new for lunch and downtown Los Gatos is always a good choice since the area is so nice and filled with many restaurants. When we came around 11:30am, there was only 1 party before us. Sat inside since it was so hot that day. Started our meal off with a michelada and a pilsner. Refreshing. For food we ordered: Blackened shrimp: 5/5. So good. Loved the grilled flavor on this and the shrimp was so meaty. shrimp ceviche: 4/5. Perfect for this hot weather. Came with a lot of avocado. Fish taco: 4/5 Steak taco: 3/5. the cheese was interesting

9/8/24 Zach and I stopped by Hercules for dinner since they have outdoor seating and pretty good reviews. Zach dropped me off to get a table since the parking wasn't easy to locate at the time. I went in to ask if we could get a seat outside since we had Coco, but no one was at the front. There was a couple that was waiting there also and told me that they had been waiting for 10 minutes to be seated. I asked the bar tender if he could get us seated, but he said that the host would be with us in about 1 minute. The host was finally available after a few minutes, to which he seated the previous couple and then Zach and I outside. He even apologize for making us wait; all he said was "just sit whereever". No menus/water/utensils/plates were provided so I went inside to grab menus and tell the host we would like water and two place settings. Here's what we got: - chips and salsa (to share) - chicken enchiladas (his) - quesabirria tacos (mine) The three stars is mainly for the food because everything tasted great. The chips were solid and not flimsy and the salsa tasted fresh. Zach said he enjoyed his enchiladas, but it could have used more spice. I thought my tacos were gonna be soft shell, but I liked the texture of the hard shell taco and that it kept the taco filling neatly tucked inside. Overall, the food here is pretty good, but at the time we were there, service was definitely lacking.

Tamales and tortilla soup. Delicious

Ambiance was great, nice aesthetic. Food was delicious and service above average. I was previewing for a possible venue to host a rehearsal dinner. I think it could work well. Location is easy access to the freeway and Hwy 9. Taco soup was delicious, the tamales were excellent and a very generous portion. I need to try their tacos when I go next time, but they looked delicious too. Oh, I almost forgot to mention their homemade sangria - it was truly something special. They also have a wide selection of beer options

Service was the worst. We had kids with us and they never brought out food to us. They served other tables who were seated after us first.

Is there a lot of cheese on the nachos? Let me rephrase has anybody found cheese on their nachos?

I would say that's hard to answer. The nachos are inconsistent. We've never had a plate look the same.

It has many choices that were perfect for a 5 year old. The guacamole was perfect, if you like avocado and want to spice it up yourself with the separate bowl of salsa. We loved the chili rellenos. The best part was the birthday dessert we all shared, churros in the shape of small donuts and festive sparklers. Family members ages 5-81 loved the food, service and ambience.

The interior has a beautiful Tulum-inspired vibe that's modern, bright, and perfect for a date night or catching up with friends. The service was also excellent--everyone was welcoming and attentive throughout our visit. The food was fresh and the drinks were good, but nothing really stood out or made me want to come back for a full meal. It was also a bit pricey for what you get, especially considering the quality. With so many amazing and more authentic Mexican restaurants around the San Jose area, this one just didn't leave a lasting impression. That said, I'd definitely come back for appetizers and cocktails with a group of girlfriends. The ambiance and drinks make it a fun spot to hang out, even if I wouldn't choose it as my go-to for Mexican food.

The ladies who work at this restaurant are all very nice and they tolerate me sitting with my headphones and laptop, never begrudging me refills on coffee. I once ordered the Caldo and it was a nice experience and generously portioned, but it isn't good study food! I love to order Sopes and a large side of refried beans here. The Sopes are really nicely presented and delicious, piled high with pico de gallo, avocado, sour cream and cotija on top of the beans and meat. So good! I ordered the vegetable enchiladas suizas here once. They were ok, but I like spicier enchiladas. This restaurant has pretty solid and authentic food and wonderful service. I am a regular customer and I only hope that I tip them well enough to compensate them for the table time and coffee refills!

As always the place was clean, and the staff was friendly, and the food wasn't gross or anything, but it was completely lacking in any flavor. I mean the shredded beef had ZERO spice to it. It used to be just right. The guacamole and pico were also super bland. I mean I am talking I was worried I'd come down with COVID when we left, because nothing tasted seasoned or spicy. (I checked, I was fine and healthy) It was well cooked, the plate was well arranged, it looked like it had been prepared with care, but there just no flavor to it. So I am sad that what used to be the best shredded beef chimichanga, is no longer any good. The prices seemed to have gone up (which I get is just a thing that is happening now, because of you know) but we liked them enough that that would not have stopped us coming back if the food had literally had any spice to it at all. But for what they are charging now, I need the food to taste like what it should.
