OK, for anyone looking for a good plumbing company, this is it! I had a terrible, foul sewage smell in my bedroom and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. I called Herk's and they sent a guy within a day of calling, he was friendly, not over talkative, and discussed everything with me and took the time to even look at another issue I was having. He crawled under my home and within minutes, confirmed where the smell was coming from and told me how it would need to be fixed. I set the appointment and he was back in two days from the original call and fixed the issue within an hour. I have their number now locked in my personal cell to use them for ALL FUTURE PLUMBING ISSUES. Cliff was my technician and he is awesome! The service I had from Herks was in late April 2025, so SORRY for this late review. I had used Herks before and was pleased with their work. This time I had a toliet that was stopped up, sometimes working, sometimes it wouldn't flush water/waste down. The owners son, (I am sorry, but I have forgotten his name) came out and did a free estimate. Turns out he "snaked" the toliet and found a toliet bowl refresher clip that had fallen into the toliet. He charged me absolutely Nothing for the service call. WOW, I was very very impressed, he was professional, friendly and solved my problem.. for me it was a big deal. Thank You Herks... Well my shower was leaking in the upstairs bathroom so I decided to open wall up and figure out what was leaking. It ended up being the actual water valve I've never replaced one my self so decided to call Herks plumbing. The lady from Herks was very pleasant and made me appointment and ask to send her pictures so plumbers can see what's going on. On the day of appointment Herk jr called before he showed up and was on time. He had another guy with him sorry didn't get his name. Both were very professional and easy to talk to. They figured out the problem quickly and started working. They took there time and didn't rush! That was greatly appreciated. Herk knocked out the new valve and left no mess behind. He called me up to show the finished results and it was a 100 times better than my old tired valve and handle also new shower head. A week went bye and everyone was happy to use the shower again upstairs and I was surprised with a phone call from the nice lady at Herks asking how everything has been going. My water softener died and plugged all my water lines with resin. I had no water in the house and Herk's came out the same day, while some other plumbers said it would take a week. They were respectful and quickly cleared the lines, so I had water again. The toilet riser could not be cleared and they installed a new one. I have to say that I don't like low flow toilet risers. It barely flushes. I would ask for one that flushes better next time. I really appreciated their fast response to quickly fix the problem. read more

Communication is below par, did not show up in timeframe they quoted and then said maybe come later or next day. Beyond frustrating after waiting all weekend for them to confirm and then not showing when they said they would and being home waiting for repair.- company's response is just thing to cover their butt as no calls or such were made. I'll start by saying Herk's Plumbing is amazing and you should hire them for your plumbing needs. One very hot Sunday night in July, our only toilet would not flush. We got a little panicky because it's the only toilet in our house. We ended up calling a plumber who didn't answer and didn't call us back. Next on our list was Herk's Plumbing. They answered right away and came over within the hour. Herk Jr showed up and was ready to fix our clog. (Keep in mind it was almost 10pm on a Sunday.) After a long time and a lot of noise, it was determined we had some issues and the city's plumbing had some issues. Herk unclogged our toilet that night but we needed more work done. The first week of August Herk Jr and Brian showed up. My son was extremely excited about the excavator they brought to dig up our yard. I on the other hand, was extremely nervous. Another long story short and a day longer than expected, everything was fixed. On top of our waste line being replaced, they added multiple water spigots in our backyard, replaced our water heater, and delivered the most excellent customer service. We are so incredibly grateful to Herk's Plumbing. They are absolutely worthy of all their great reviews. Their customer service is amazing and they are all so kind. Absolutely pathetic customer service. Took 3 weeks to get back to us to give us price for water heater installation! Owner or technical himself is extremely rude over the phone. Would not recommended this company to anyone. He needs lessons for manners!! He lost $6000 customer today. Probably he does not care either!! We asked them only 2 times for the discount for full payment upfront!! When you are ready to spend $6000, you obviously want a better deal if possible but being an owner if u r being rude/loosing ur mind /being totally disrespectful is unacceptable and unprofessional!! I called on Friday and got appointment for Monday "unless I can get someone for today". A few hours later Katie said they were on their way to me, Technicians showed up and were friendly but professional. They did a complimentary estimate and I hired them. Dustin and Gabriel completed my repairs and were gone by 2:30! Who Knew that plumbers could repair a gas leak under my house?! I called them to get my water heater checked out, upon arriving they immediately gave me options either to fixed it or just replacing the unit. I elected with the replacement, as well i asked them to quote me on how much it would be to replace my toilets. Once they gave me the price I elected to get everything done, so asked to schedule the service, which happens to be a couple minutes later just so they could get the replacement unit. Not only were they fast at getting a big job done, they were friendly, and answering any questions i had. I was cleaning my bathroom and noticed the toilet was leaking at the seal. I called Herk's and they answered right away and were able to get me a quote over the phone, which was the lowest of the three that I called. Also I remembered their fun vans that I had seen in the Modesto Christmas Parade and mentioned that on the phone, It was almost noon when I called and they said they could have someone out between 2 and 4, which was awesome. Herk Jr called me at about 12:30 and said he could be there in 10 minutes. He and another young man came in and got it done in just a few minutes. They were very kind and professional, and when I went yo pay it was WAY less than what they had quoted. They will definitely goon my list of trusted companies to use in the future if needed. Amazing customer service! Very impressed with the timeliness and services provided! Realized we didn't have hot water and called two plumbers. After waiting 2hrs for a call back I called Herks (from a recommendation of a friend). Herks was at my house within 10 minutes! They were close by. They had my water heater diagnosed and an estimate right away. Techs were super friendly, even took time to give love to my pound puppy! From time of phone call to installation of new unit was 3hrs! The price was $500 less than Home Depot's quote with a better tank and warranty! They've got customers for life from these homeowners! Meanwhile I'm still waiting on a call back from the others! I called on a Saturday morning to get immediate assistance on plugged up shower drain. I chose this business based on the reviews and reliability...or so it seemed. Herk's sent someone but didn't even solve the immediate issue. Didn't offer to snake the sewage line. They did want to sell us a $6000 fix for the re-piping of of our sewage line. We got a second opinion from a plumber we know and they told us Kerk's should have at least snaked it. I leave it to the experts to know what's best but in this case there was not enough attention to detail. I called Kerk's the next day and told the representative that we didn't have an immediate fix or effort made on behalf of the plumber. they said they would call me back...but haven't heard back to this day.
