Im not sure how any reviewer of this pizza restsurant can honestly rate this a 3 or higher. The crust is frozen, then reheated, the sauce is bland and nearly invisible and the 'cheese' is neither mozzarella nor provolone...it is a horribly cheap cheese solution with an objectionable texture. Adding insult is the price for this 'pizza.'. $51 for a 14" cheese and a 14" pepp..Please. Since we didn't sample the pasta or salads (thankful;y) we can only base our notion on the core product - pizza. Based upon that, there is no way we would eat here again. This is the only pizza place I've been to in Winter Park/Fraser but I can tell you it is hands down the best. First sign of a good place is there was a wait for table upon entering. The decor is out of this world. Just $35,000 in ones across the walls and tables. Service was great. There's nothing like beer and pizza next to a fireplace (one of the areas you can sit). We had the supreme pizza and the Sanoma (chicken, artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes) Simone style (garlic crust). The Supreme is so flavorful! I'm a big fan of ground sausage instead of chucks of what could be beef, sausage, pork, who knows? The Sanoma was also great, but I was expecting more flavor profiles. Regardless you get the lovely honey bottle to drizzle on your pizza crust. I found that finding the books and crannies and filling them with the honey was the best. I would like to see more options in draft beers - especially since it's Colorado and there are tons of great breweries. Lastly, I want to make a huge shout out to the staff. My 4 year old nephew was not feeling well and didn't end up eating anything. When we were close to finishing dinner get got sick all over the floor, himself, and my sister in law. There was no waiting from the staff. They immediately helped clean up and mop the floors with bleach. No one batted an eye. The quick cleanup and comments to my nephew saying it was ok and these things happen really raised the bar with me. I'd make this place a 5 with more beer options and maybe a few more specialty pizzas. Overall, you need to go here and experience it. That honey! read more

Delicious doughy crust pizza, but the sauce was lacking a little bit. I love some pizza that I don't want to dip in ranch because the sauce is good. The bread was overtoasted and tough to chew and the cheese was cheap. The aesthetic of the restaurant was cool with big fireplaces, but I'm not sure I'd enjoy dining amongst something like 10 grand in $1 bills (how close was that guess?). My friends and I had the misfortune of visiting this place this past week. The service was slow, rude, and very unprofessional. Not to mention, they don't have a up to date computer system to separate a check up if you have a large group of people. We asked our waitress to separate our check up into threes because we each wanted to pay our own ticket. She got so mad that we asked, she threw our check, with our credit cards, across the restaurant. I have never been more insulted. We ordered the small pesto and it was perfect. Even the crust is stuffed with pesto and cheese. They serve it with honey and I think that has forever changed my pizza dipping ways. The crust is pretty dry and cardboard box-like. I really wanted to like this place. I love local pizza places. Good service and cool decor. The pizza just doesn't make the cut. The sauce doesn't pull everything together and the cheese couldn't hold the toppings on the pizza. Overall, just a dry dry dry pizza that was not cohesive. Also ordered the baked ziti and the pasta was, again, very dry and almost brittle. Cardboard box taste and texture again but harder like plastic. Just not really good food. This is some of the best pizza around. We don't mind the 1 1/2 hour drive to Winter Park, if this tasty goodness is meeting us when we get there. Hernando's has been one of our favorite stops in Winter Park for many years. Whether it's after skiing or hiking we always stop by for their amazing pizza. You have to start with their family style garlic bread sticks served with cheese and Marinara sauce. Then try their Greek salad served with feta cheese, red onion, Greek olives, pepperoncinis and oregano vinaigrette. Delicious!!! Then it's on to the Jerry's Special pizza made with their wheat crust. This is a meat lovers feast! Pepperoni, sausage, and mushrooms. The best part is when you finish the pizza you put honey on the crust for dessert. This is our families favorite pizza joint! We came in for an early dinner on our way back to Denver after a snowy ski weekend. Our friends had been here before and recommended it. We enjoyed the pizza and atmosphere, and would come back again. I love the cute, cozy fireplace inside, along with the quirky decor (dollar bills everywhere!) They have an "all day happy hour", so for $3.50 a can, we drank some decent New Belgium beer. We ordered two pizzas, some kids meals, and a brownie sundae for dessert. Pizzas were good, but not as hot as I'd like them. Toppings were tasty and the crust was good. One of ours was the "traditional" style and the other was the white pizza. Heavy garlic on the white pizza - which I like! Keeps the vampires away. Brownie sundae was decadent, and big enough to share. Kids meals looked tasty, and they came with ice cream for dessert. Service was fine, not overly friendly, but pretty efficient. One of their bussers was really on top of things - nary a dirty dish on our table. Price was pretty good, especially with the $3.50 beers.
